Servant of the Night Lords Page 7

by Lora Darc

Danielle had no choice but to go to them. She broke through the crowd and approached them. Their black, pupilless eyes stared at her with curiosity and she waited for them to signal to their general at their exotic find.

To Danielle’s shock, they said nothing as she lifted the tray before them. They took the food off the plates and ate greedily.

“... you will find Prince Morgin harder to convince of any negotiation.” Danielle heard Lord Torquel say behind her. Lord Tyris said something in return, but Danielle stopped listening, only hoping the two soldiers would finish quickly.

They ate every last bit of food off her tray and, as soon as the last morsel was lifted from her tray, Danielle turned to leave. As she did, she heard her name called.

She hadn’t heard it aloud. It had been inside her head. Someone was calling to her in her mind.

Danielle... so this is where you’ve come to hide.

Danielle swerved around and saw Lord Torquel staring at her.

“We are finished here. But know my princes will claim what’s theirs, Lord Tyris. One way... or the other.” Lord Torquel walked away from the other Night Lords and headed directly for her. Danielle went cold as he approached her. He gazed down at her with blazing white and blue eyes and she couldn’t move. Danielle stared up at the geist, waiting for him to signal to one of his soldiers to grab her. But Lord Torquel said nothing. He bowed his head slightly instead and Danielle only shook her head in a silent plea.

Danielle heard soft laughter in her head and Lord Torquel strolled past her with his soldiers following right behind. She remained unmoving as he walked out of the hall. Only when the doors closed was the spell broken, allowing Danielle to stumble away, forgetting her usual grace.

  ***

Danielle knew Lord Torquel wouldn’t keep her whereabouts a secret. Soon the princes would come for her and the Night Lords wouldn’t be able to stop them. She needed the last ingredients before that happened and she was running out of time. She only had a few more moons at best.

Fortunately, she didn’t think it would take much effort to convince one of the devils to take her to their room. Lord Tyris, on the other hand, was going to be more difficult.

The next moonset she didn’t waste time immediately focusing her efforts to seduce one of the devils. She brought them wine and food, hovering over them like a desperate puppy seeking attention.

The devils—as well as the other Night Lords she didn’t dare ignore—were delighted by her attentiveness to them. They would caress her thighs or nip her ear when she passed, making sure Lord Tyris never saw. They enjoyed her like a favorite pet.

As the crowds grew in the great hall and wine flowed heavy, the lights were dimmed considerably and more guests demanded to be served. Danielle was forced to leave her station around the Night Lords as groups grew rowdier and more careless. Music beat from a band of drums nearby and the fire pits were rekindled. The great hall was quickly turning into a wild party and Danielle had to quicken her pace to keep up with the people’s demands.

As she went to refill her tray, a hand grabbed Danielle’s wrist.

“Leave it,” said the red devil who pulled her into the crowd.

Danielle followed without protest. They snuck around large groups until they came to the far wall where a curtain hid a secret door. The devil pushed the curtain away and pulled Danielle into the dark hallway beyond. They weaved through the tunnel way until they came to a familiar, well-lit tunnel and headed farther down, away from the great hall.

They came to a door at the end and the devil threw it open and pushed her inside.

The room was like stepping into the inside of a dragon’s egg, with a golden-domed ceiling in a tall oval shape and blue and red lanterns hanging between pillars. Bowls of flames sat in alcoves within the walls and a fire pit flickered at the back. Incense burned with the scent of cinnamon and spice; the smoke rose in the air, disappearing into stone vents in the ceiling.

A bed lay at the very center, fixed with satin sheets. Danielle approached it and lay a hand on the smooth surface. She turned, sat on its edge and watched the devil watching her. He grinned as if satisfied to see her so compliant.

“Rumors spread quick,” said the red devil. “You are quite something aren’t you.” The devil moved toward her. “But then, my brother and I have had our share of impressive women. Tell me, girl,” the devil stopped, “what makes you so special?”

Danielle tilted her head and bit her lower lip. She stood up and unclipped her attire, letting it fall to the ground, then sat back on the bed. “I cannot say how… but I can show you if you like, my lord.”

The red devil laughed. “Yes, you will show us won’t you.”

It was then the door opened again and the blue devil stepped through. His eyes flashed over her and he grinned like his brother. They both came up beside the bed to hover over her and Danielle felt the heat rise in her body.

  Two of them? Together?

“Yes, you get a very special treat, girl,” the blue devil said. “Not many get to have both of us in one turn.”

“But you’ll have to earn it,” said the red devil. “You’ll do everything we say.”

Danielle’s heart beat fast, not out of fear now, but excitement. “Yes… my lords. I’ll do my best.”

  “Yes,” said the blue devil.

  “You will,” said the red.

They, in turn, shed their clothes and knelt on to the bed on each side of her.

“You’ve been a naughty girl, sneaky around with the others haven’t you?” said the red devil.

“We like naughty girls,” commented the blue.

They both laughed and the red devil grabbed hold of Danielle and turned her around so that she was forced to bend over the bed. The red devil moved behind her while the blue went to her front.

At the same time, they plunged into her, the red devil penetrating her center, the blue having her take him into her mouth. Danielle moaned as her lips enclosed around the blue devil‘s cock. They stroked in rhythm, going in and out, thrusting faster. At one point they slowed their pace to have her on her back then once again dipped into her, the blue devil over her head the other raising her hips to thrust hard.

Like a rag doll, Danielle let them twist her each way, taking turns to penetrate her from front or back. Danielle was overwhelmed by the different sensations coursing through her simultaneously. They nipped at her breasts, licked her core, bit at her neck. It was like watching two beasts feasting on a singular meal. Their purrs and growls of pleasure filled her ears. She moaned and gasped as she felt fingers penetrate her and teeth graze her nipples.

Danielle relished in the waves of pleasure crashing around her. The red devil laid out before her and she sucked him while the blue devil beat into her from behind.

Danielle didn’t know how late it was becoming, but she didn’t care; though the devil’s enjoyed her far longer than the rest. When they had found their pleasure once, they focused on pleasuring her instead. Each taking turns to lick and suckle her core and her breasts. Soon they became greedy and penetrated her again.

Danielle ached for her release but every time she grew close the devils would move and change positions, leaving her hot with wanting. She came to realize this was their way of teasing.

“Poor thing.” The red devil smiled.

“Can’t stand it, can you?” The blue devil smiled.

They laughed as they teased her, rubbing her nipples and fingering her center, biting at her neck and thighs. Danielle moaned and cried, writhing against them.

“Do you want to come, girl?” said the red devil.

  Danielle nodded and whimpered. “Yes.”

The red devil nodded to his brother and they switched positions. They flipped her on her knees again and the blue devil moved his head under her and the red devil gripped her thighs and spread her legs out. As the blue devil swirled his tongue around her core, the red devil pounded her from behind.

  The fiery pr
essure tightened inside her and Danielle came quick. The blue devil moved out of the way while his brother finished inside her with a loud, satisfied growl. He pulled out of her and the blue devil thrust back in, her center still tight around his hard length. He finished in her soon after, hissing and groaning with sweet pleasure.

Danielle felt the burning power course through her again. She fell to the bed, stretching out and sighing as the current of energy flowed through her. She turned on her side and looked over at the devils who watched her with interest. Danielle grazed a hand up her thigh, her eyes turning dark. She smiled at them.

  “Let’s do that again.”

  Chapter 9

As the devil’s had slept, Danielle procured two small wisps of fire from the top of their heads, one blue and one red just to be safe. When she had snuck back to the servant’s hall she found it mostly empty save for a few that slept on couches and a couple of lesser servants cleaning up tables. Exhausted now herself, Danielle went to her little room and immediately fell asleep...

“Girl, Girl! Wake up!” A hand shook her and Danielle groaned. She turned over and saw Madame Bree hovering over her. “Get up now and come with me!”

Grumbling, Danielle reluctantly got up. She rubbed her eyes and followed Madam Bree from her room. As they swept passed several other chambers, Danielle caught the eyes of the other servants and saw them staring and whispering. She and Madam Bree left the servant’s hall and went down the tunnel way leading to the great hall. Danielle wanted to ask what this was about, but she could see Madam Bree was in a bad temper. She wouldn‘t look at her, grabbing Danielle’s arm and jerking her down the tunnel. Guards watched them pass, staring at her with deep interest.

Danielle became nervous as they entered the great hall and saw Lord Tyris sitting on his throne, with the Night Lords standing before him.

Madam Bree brought her before the throne. “The human, Lord Tyris, as you wished.” She bowed and left Danielle to stand before him, surrounded by the other Night Lords.

When the doors closed, Lord Tyris glared down at her and gestured for her to come closer.

“I had hoped,” Lord Tyris began, “that I would be proven wrong about humans. That you would have remained obedient. And not cause trouble in my kingdom. But you have only proven what I believed all along. The humans are sneaky, conniving creatures.”

Danielle frowned and shook her head. “My lord, I don’t understand—”

Lord Tyris slammed his fist against the arm of his chair, a thunderous crack echoing through the chamber. Danielle flinched and stared at him, her body turning cold.

He leaned forward and bared his teeth. “Don’t try to act innocent with me,” he hissed. “I know everything now. Did you think I wouldn’t find out? You sneaking around with the others.”

Danielle glanced at each of the lords and they, in turn, stared at her, pity flashing in their eyes.

“Yes, I hear everything,” Lord Tyris continued. “You were to remain subservient, to keep away from the others.”

Danielle opened her mouth, but Lord Tyris quieted her with a growl. “I don’t care what your little scheme was. You will be punished for your insolence. I should have known never to trust a human.”

At that moment the doors opened and Captain Bohren stepped into the hall. He came up beside her and bowed.

“See to it that she is properly attired, then bring her back to me before moonset,” Lord Tyris said. The captain bowed again and took hold of her arm. Danielle struggled until Lord Grabril stepped forward.

“My lord, it is our fault,” the wolf lord said. “I had her stay with me that night, and the others commanded her to their rooms.”

“It is true,” Lord Virsis hissed. “We were weak and couldn’t deny the temptation. We went against your orders, it is us who should be punished.”

Lord Tyris looked to the devils. “Lords Wryth and Skye, you agree?”

  The devils nodded.

“I brought her to my chamber of my own choosing, my lord,” said Wryth, the red devil.

“And I followed close behind, my lord,” said Skye, the blue devil.

Lord Tyris leaned back in his chair. Tendrils of steam wafted from his body and Danielle caught the slight crackle of electricity flow through his fingers as he scratched the arm of his chair.

“No…,” he said finally. “She has tempted you, the scheming harlot. Seduced you into wanting her.” Lord Tyris stood. “Take her away now and bring her back to me.”

The other Night Lords watched as Captain Bohren pulled Danielle away. Danielle reached for them and, in turn, their faces grew dark as she was taken from the hall.

  ***

Bohren took Danielle back to the servant’s hall and ordered lesser servants to have her bathed and properly attired for Lord Tyris. She was stripped of her usual servant’s clothes and had to plead to keep her necklace of hidden vials. She put up such a fight that the lesser servants gave up trying to take it from her and set her into the bath instead. They washed her quickly then set her before the long mirror and brought out a special piece of clothing. At least Danielle thought it must be, though it looked like nothing more than strips of leather and silver chains. Only when the lesser servants clipped and tied the leather straps to her did she see the attire for what it was. The strips of leather were connected in a way that covered her most sensitive parts but the rest of her was almost completely bare, leaving little to the imagination. A leather collar was tied around her throat along with leather cuffs at her ankles and wrists. Then the silver chains were clipped to rings that hung from her leather collar and cuffs.

Bohren took hold of the chains and pulled her through the servant’s hall. Danielle spied some of the other servants watching, including Yuli who only blew her a kiss. She followed Bohren out into the tunnels where people stopped and watched her pass by.

Once back inside the great hall, Danielle saw that the other Night Lords were gone and only a few nobles milled about. She was brought before Lord Tyris once again whose eyes narrowed as he gazed at her. He nodded his head as if satisfied and Bohren dragged her up to the stage and had the end of her chains clipped to Lord Tyris’ throne.

“You will remain beside me for now on so that I may better watch you.” Lord Tyris gripped a chain connected to her collar and pulled her closer. “I expect you to remain silent before me, do you understand? I will not tolerate any more disobedience.”

Danielle bowed her head, keeping her eyes lowered. “Yes, my lord,” she said in a soft voice. She didn’t dare defy him. Though she was vexed at not being allowed to serve with the others—and be away from the other Night Lords—she wasn’t totally grieved by her situation. Though Lord Tyris’ rage scared her, being close to him meant getting one step closer to taking the ingredient she needed from him. How she would manage to get it was what concerned her.

Lord Tyris didn’t hide his feelings towards her. She knew trying to seduce him might be near impossible.

As moonset came, so too did the people. They flocked into the great hall at the usual time and Danielle watched as servants came in soon after to serve them. As she sat beside Lord Tyris’ throne she saw the other Night Lords enter. She gazed at them longingly as they mingled about. Lord Tyris had left her alone to sit by the empty chair as he had ‘other important matters to attend to’. She leaned against the throne and sighed, wishing to be with the others. Many gazed on her as they strolled by, some talking and pointing, others silently staring.

Lord Tyris entered the hall with a few of his guards, looking tense and enraged. Something hadn’t gone the way he liked.

He didn’t look at her as he sat down. As he waited, the guards called for the hall to be silent. The other Night lords came to the front and Danielle saws they too looked disturbed by ill news.

“It has come to our attention,” Lord Tyris began, “that the princes will not negotiate with us. Instead, they are coming here, in two moons time, to see to our surrender.”

  The c
rowds of people gasped and grew excited and Lord Tyris silenced them. “Though they may think we will surrender, we shall not. But we will allow them to enter the mountain in hopes to convince them to negotiate further. I expect every guard and noble to be here when they do. If any flee, they will be punished severely.”

Danielle paled at the news. Soon the princes would come and they would see her and she feared what would happen when they did. She knew eventually she would go back to them, but she couldn’t let them take her until she had what she needed from Lord Tyris. Her time was nearly up.

She looked up at Lord Tyris and knew what she had to do.

  ***

As moonrise came, the hall emptied. Danielle was allowed back into the servant’s quarters—led by two guards—and locked in her room. Only Madam Bree was allowed to enter after to give her food. Danielle stayed there until moonset when guards came to get her once again.

She was chained back to Lord Tyris throne where, to her dismay, it sat empty. Danielle feared her chance to gain his energy was slipping.

As Lord Tyris wasn’t present, neither were the other Night Lords. Danielle could only assume they were preparing for the prince’s arrival. As it grew late, many returned to their dens. When Danielle began to lose hope, the doors opened and Lord Tyris and his guardsmen entered.

“I want the men at the lookout and at the back entrance just in case,” Danielle heard Lord Tyris command. He came to the throne and stood in front of it. “You will inform me as soon as another palace soldier is spotted nearby.”

When they finished conversing, Captain Bohren and his guards left right away. When the door closed, Lord Tyris sat back on the throne and closed his eyes.

Few lingered still in the hall. Danielle waited a short while to see what Lord Tyris would do. When he remained unmoving, as if he might fall asleep, she took her chance to make a move. When no one was watching, she slowly got up and went to stand beside him.

“My lord…” she said carefully. “May I speak to you?”
