Lucy looked at the swimming pool. At the bottom - lit from below - Tania’s face-down corpse was surrounded by chlorinated blood. The Taurus Strangler - and self-appointed Crimson Shadow - had taken her last breath.
“Sure about that?” Lucy grunted. “Looks like you’ll… be needing a new programmer.”
“And a head of security. You fancy working for me?”
“Why not? My partner’s dead, and I think I’m done with Blake’s bullshit.” Lucy winced. She fought back pain as they walked toward the house. “One condition, though.”
Adrian opened the rear patio door, and assisted Lucy inside. “Name it.”
“No mention of Crimson Shadow,” she said, giving him a gentle kiss.
“I think that’s dead in the water. But I’ve got a different project to work on. Something from my college days. Not sure how it will work out, but I’m hopeful.”
Adrian kissed Lucy full-on. His hands brushed molten snow from her hair. The embracing lovers smiled at one another. Adrian reached out, and slid his patio door closed.

Edith Clayton and the Wisdom of Athena
By A.D. Phillips
The Great War - the bloodiest in history - is over. Everyone wants to forget the horrors of the past, but for one girl that’s impossible.
Fourteen year old Edith Clayton thinks looking after her rebellious little sister is difficult, but that’s the least of her concerns when her archaeologist father discovers a shape changing, black metal sphere that defies the known laws of science. After Edith accidentally absorbs the unearthly power contained within, events take a dangerous turn.
Gifted with the ability to heal rapidly from wounds and relive any memory in perfect detail, Edith struggles to find answers. But there’s another, more profound effect that only becomes evident later: Edith has stopped growing old. While everybody else ages as they should, she remains trapped in the body of a teenager.
As two decades pass and a second great war breaks out, Edith is caught in a desperate race to recover an artefact even more powerful than the first. Smaller and physically weaker than an adult, she learns there are also advantages to being a child. Edith will need those - and her special skills - because the promise of eternal youth attracts many enemies.
Jade Dragon
By A.D. Phillips
Seductive, manipulative and a master of martial arts. Jade Dragon is the main character of a chart-topping videogame franchise. But someone in San Francisco is playing for real.
The deadly game begins when a masked, leather-clad woman abducts and murders Dragonsoft president Toshigi Tasoto. When more company employees fall prey to the unknown assassin – who themes her killings around Dragonsoft game characters – it becomes clear Jade’s vendetta has just started. Like the female ninja she imitates, the killer is an expert in combat, stealth and deception, as lethal with her bare hands as a samurai sword.
Picking up her bloody trail are veteran homicide Detective Lakeysia Symons and her young, womanizing partner Kyle Travis. Their investigations lead them to Tasoto’s daughter Nicole, a beautiful and brilliant games designer who looks increasingly guilty as people close to her are targeted.
Nowhere is safe. Jade Dragon strikes in her target’s homes, their place of work, and even the police precinct. Nicole’s past is the key to the mystery, but is she innocent as she claims… or a scheming killer about to complete her masterpiece?
