“I’ve told you what you want. Now please, let me go. Or leave,” she growled and then groaned.
“What’s wrong with you?” he demanded.
“Go!” she yelled. There was desperation in her voice, and she was getting more and more agitated. Her eyes were dilated, and then he smelled it. She was soaking wet. His jaw dropped in shocked horror as his dragon roared in his mind. He held his breath, but it was too fucking late. She was inside his lungs and it was incredible. Edible. His! Fuck! He roared in fury, shaking the walls with his raging need and anger. His hands shot to the door moldings, and the wood crumbled in his hold as his gaze drilled into hers.
“Go!” she pleaded and he saw the pain and fear in her eyes.
Sirena, Alex, Uri, war room. Now, he snarled and left with his dick painfully hard and the dragon snapping and fighting for him to fuck the female.
He snarled the second Sirena, Uri and Alex appeared. “Did the mating formula Cyril injected Delia with make her aroused for the male?”
“The Lykos, yes. Cyril, no,” Alex said with force. There was a hard glint in her eyes. “Cyril hurt her.” His dragon raged in his head and all he saw was red. He launched a chair into the wall as they looked on in shocked horror.
“What happened?” He heard the worry in Sirena’s voice.
Drake roared in fury, slamming a fist into the massive hard wood table, splitting the solid wood in half. It wasn’t enough. He needed to fly, to free the dragon and unleash the flames, his rage.
“Take my blood,” he snarled at a shocked Sirena. “Now.”
Chapter 37
Guardian Manor, Tetartos Realm
Ileana and Sam transformed back into human form. “You’re getting much better,” Ileana praised the female. She’d offered to help Alex with training the females who wanted to learn to fight. It was only a few hours a week when she and Jax weren’t searching the Realm for the God.
She felt lighter, still insanely possessive, but a covert visit with Jax to see Astrid yesterday had felt good, and helping the females learn to fight felt right. Everything was aligning for her in a way she’d never anticipated. She’d learned that having others around added strength not weakness.
She smiled remembering Astrid’s shocked look; it was barely a difference, but there. The Kairos had even smiled when they’d told her they’d mated. Ileana had spent centuries keeping the female at a distance, but that ended now. She would make an effort with the female who had guided and protected her secret for so long. Small steps. Ileana was still getting used to having ‘family’ around, but she learned quickly.
“It’s getting easier,” Sam admitted and looked relieved.
“You were fighting the animal’s instincts.”
“Yeah, I still worry she’ll take over completely.”
“She won’t. It’s a trust thing,” she added as she looked at the blonde. Sam put every effort in when training with Ileana. She was smart, paid attention and was making good progress. Ileana liked her, even respected the female. Rain hadn’t been able to train with them this time, so Ileana had taken the opportunity to work with Sam in beast form.
A harsh grunt and snarl drew their attention to the other ring. Alex was sparring with the wolves, and it sounded like the female was working them over well. Zoe snapped to her feet and grinned evilly at the Demi-Goddess as they circled.
“Again!” Alex demanded with a pleased grin. The female fought dirty as hell, and it was making the wolves much better fighters.
“I love her, but she’s a little scary,” Sam admitted as she shook her head at Alex. They were sisters-in-law and it was obvious they’d become close in the short time they’d been a family. Alex seemed to adore the female.
Ileana heard the door click open and turned to see Mia walking into the gym. The wolf’s eyes were set on Ileana, so she waited as Sam stepped away. She’d yet to speak to the female once but knew from scent who she was looking at.
Mia had been busy focusing on her male, and no one seemed to know if his family links could be rebuilt, but the rumor was his and Mia’s were strong.
Mia came to stand in front of her, and Ileana heard the sparring stop. It was quiet when the female spoke. “I never apologized.”
“It was never needed,” Ileana pointed out and meant it.
Mia nodded and took a breath. “Thank you.”
What did she say to the female? She sympathized with the wolf, but was happy as hell that Mia had found her mate. She was saved from awkward silence when Jax stepped in. He took one look at the scene and cocked a brow at Ileana.
Her lips curved. It’s all good, she informed him.
“Mia.” Jax nodded in greeting. “How’s Donovan?”
The she-wolf’s eyes brightened. “Getting better.” She cleared her throat and said a soft, “Thank you,” to him as well.
Jax nodded as he tucked Ileana into his side. The move had no effect on the she-wolf and it was a damned good thing. Ileana relaxed against her mate and looked up to see him smiling down at Mia. “I don’t envy the male for having to deal with your pain-in-the-ass brothers.”
Mia’s face split into a beautiful smile. “They’re loveable assholes but, yes, my sisters have had my back there.” The wolf’s eyes shot to her siblings and love shone bright before she waved to Jax and Ileana and headed the other way. Chatting commenced behind them and Ileana was glad for the noise and lack of tension in the air.
“We’re out of here, kitten,” he whispered in her ear, and she moaned when he caressed her tailbone and the mark she’d taken there. The mating mark to match the one he now held on his chest. The two twined serpents held together by their tails for eternity. The mark tingled every time he touched it, a reminder that she was his as much as he was hers. His words brought her mind back into focus. “We don’t have a lot of time for your surprise.”
She looked up, frowning. “Surprise?” Was that a code word for his mouth between her thighs? She smiled, having given him that image.
“Greedy,” he growled in her ear. “Later.” She moaned lightly. “I have something I’ve wanted to show you, kitten,” he said as they cleared the door and headed outside. She looked up at him, curious at what he was planning.
After a turn in the path she saw Uri standing with Havoc. The Guardian winked before porting away. Her brow furrowed more and then she shook her head at the beast in his bright red harness. Havoc wagged his stub of a tail before bounding to greet her with a bump into her hip. She still couldn’t believe Uri had a pet hell beast. The animal was completely at odds with his brethren, which just meant the Tria were making the beasts evil, because the pup standing in front of her with big red eyes was anything but that. He’d only met her twice and already expected her to love and pet him. She chuckled, looking up at Jax.
“We’re leaving the Realm?” she asked, her stomach fluttering in excitement. He’d told her that the hound could get them out of the Realm. It was a Guardian secret. One of the many she now held close.
“We are. I’m sorry we won’t be able to spend much time.” Regret shone in his eyes.
“Where are we going?”
“Just wait. Crouch down and hold Havoc’s neck. Uri gave him instructions.” They used the hound when hunting demon-possessed humans in Earth Realm. Another Guardian task, one of the many they’d been unable to spend much time on since hunting Apollo took precedence. She was surprised Drake had allowed Jax this excursion.
She wouldn’t question it, she was too excited to see what he’d show her. She crouched down and was rewarded with a lick to the cheek. His breath held a tinge of sulfur. “Ugh. No more, Havoc.” Her cat didn’t care that she was touching the hound, but the lick had made her beast hiss in disgust. She shook her head; he was just a pup.
The port was longer than she’d ever experienced, but was still a matter of a minute spent with what felt like rubber pushing against her back.
Jax was looking down at her when she reformed. She stood up, scratching Havoc’s
ears. The beast disappeared a second later and she looked at Jax askance. “We only need him to get you out of Tetartos. I can get you back.”
She looked at the beautiful green valley below as he moved behind her, settling her against his chest. The sun shone bright and made the small lake below glitter invitingly. Cool wind whipped around them as she tracked a winding river that led out to a sparkling blue sea. Millions of bright lights flew everywhere under the blue domed protection, more seeming to come up from the lake in almost a fountain of light. She was mesmerized by it as a feeling of peace washed over her.
“Heaven,” she said on a breath. A name they’d adopted from the Mageia, for the Immortals it had always been known as the Realm of Pure Souls. Her breath caught. The air caressing her skin felt perfect as she noted the bright lights were blue and white. They darted around or settled in groups.
“The dome?” she asked.
“The Tria send hell beasts to taint the souls. We set up the dome, but also patrol. Souls sometimes get through.”
Her vision grew hazy, her heart constricting tight when two powerful blue lights flew up the mountain with blinding speed. Tears streamed down her face as her mate held her. “My parents? They know it’s me?” She sniffed as the lights darted around them, then slowed and caressed her arms and cheeks. She felt so much love she couldn’t move, could barely breathe.
“I imagine so, kitten. We don’t know a lot about how it works here. They can’t communicate. We’ve always assumed the blue are the Immortals.”
She hadn’t cried since she’d lost them; now she cried because she felt them. Her mate had given them back, had given her something she’d never imagined. He’d given her the world. Peace.
“I love you.” She let him in her mind to see just how much she was consumed by her perfect Guardian.
“And I love you,” he said and held her tight to his warmth.

About The Author
The sad truth is that I’m not nearly as entertaining as fiction. I am a thirty-seven year old stay at home writer, thanks to my incredibly supportive husband. We’ve been together for thirteen years and I still love waking up next to that sexy man. We lost our furry child recently, so we are childless at the moment. Our whole world revolved around her. Needless to say, I love animals, especially dogs. Okay, maybe not all animals, I’m not a super big fan of monkeys. Any animal that throws their feces kind of eeks me out. I may, or may not, have a problem with candy. I love any research that leads to Neiman Marcus’ online shoe department. Spreadsheets give me way more happiness than they should. I love to read, the dirtier the better. It all started with the naughty historical romances by Judith McNaught that I devoured as a teenager. I love reading about hot, sexy alpha males and heroines that are smart enough to live.
