Epilogue
On the evening of June tenth, Riley carefully dressed for her cousin’s wedding. She knew that Robyn had no clue she was getting married that day, but Riley was going to the wedding with the reverend who planned to marry them.
When Blake knocked on her door, she smiled, looking him up and down. “Well, look who looks all preachery today.”
He laughed, shaking his head. “I have no idea what it means to look preachery, but I’m happy to do it.”
“Let’s head over. Ben promised he’d wait to propose until we were there. I cut out of school a little early, but I couldn’t leave much earlier because we had an exam today.”
“Sounds good to me.” He put her in his car, thinking only of the surprise he had for her at the wedding. He drove them to Robyn’s house, across the street from his own. He knew that Ben had fixed up the house before Robyn had moved in, and he was thrilled they were going to live there together.
They had only been there for a few minutes before Ben led Robyn to the yard, and they all knew he was asking her to marry him right there and then.
Soon, Ben announced she’d said yes, and there was a wedding ceremony, and Riley stood next to her sisters, wiping at her tears.
After the ceremony, they had a barbecue and mingled with everyone, but Blake made sure to stay at Riley’s side through it all.
He led her to a quiet corner of the yard after a while and asked her to sit. When she had, he got down on one knee, pulling a ring box from his pocket. “Riley Quinn, will you spend the rest of your life making me happy?”
Riley covered her mouth with her hand as she looked at the ring and tears sprang to her eyes. “I would be so happy to.”
He slipped the ring on her finger before helping her to her feet and hugging her close. “Thank you!”
In the middle of their embrace, Raina and Derek walked over, obviously not caring what they were interrupting.
“Let’s make it a double wedding,” Raina said. “Right after Bobling gets home. The tenth of August.”
Riley looked at Blake. “I really don’t want to wait that long, but I would love for my brother to be there when I married. How would you feel about it?”
He nodded. “I think waiting for Jake to come home and having a double wedding is perfect.”
She smiled at her sister. “Sounds wonderful. Now we have to find a cousin who’s going to fit my bridesmaid dress, though.”
Raina laughed. “Like that’s going to be a problem.”
Riley leaned back against Blake, who wrapped his arms around her from behind. “I love you with everything inside me,” he whispered for only her to hear.
“Me too.”
