“God dammit!” he seethed and grabbed my face kissing me breathless.
He finally let my lips go as he looked over at Thunder.
I looked over too. Oh, my god! Close up, he looked a lot worse.
He wasn’t looking anywhere except up at Bella.
I turned to see what she intended to do. God, I hoped she wasn’t wearing her gun.
Jaxson moved me aside.
Thunder motioned his head at her. “You need to come down here, Bella.”
She bit at her lip. “Where’s Bruno?”
“Fuck anyone else. Come down here.”
I was thinking that talking to this woman like this was the worst idea, but I kept that to myself.
She then did.
I gasped as she came down the stairs and moved to where he stood.
“What the hell happened to you, Thunder?” she asked.
I heard the crack in her voice, despite her bravado.
He shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. What matters is you are coming with me and staying with me.”
Her eyes rounded. “W-what about—?”
He grabbed her up and pulled her close. “Like I said, fuck everyone else.”
I rolled my eyes. Fucking Thunder, he could be a little more romantic.
Bella titled her head at him “I don’t liked being bossed.”
He stared at her and then laughed. Gasping, he paled and grabbed his side. Then he swayed on his feet a little.
Bella’s whole face changed. “Oh, crap! God, Dino! What the hell?” She tried to hold him up.
Jaxson kept a hold of my hand but he rushed over and took Thunder’s weight by holding him up. “You should have seen him when we found him.”
“Shut the fuck up, Jax.” Thunder was breathing heavy now.
“What happened to you?” Bella asked. “They grabbed you didn’t they?”
He didn’t answer.
“Dammit Thunder!” She looked livid.
He stood up again under his own weight. His face paled and the bruises seemed to stand out more.
Just then, Bruno appeared next to us. “We gotta go. This is drawing too much attention.”
Bella stared at him.
He nodded his head at her. “I never would’ve given you up, girl. Now, I couldn’t even if I had to.” He motioned his head at Dino. “You’re apparently his now.”
Her mouth popped open and she looked over at Thunder.
I finally spoke up, “Bella, come on. It’s okay.”
She looked back at me.
I nodded and grabbed her hand.
She looked so conflicted.
“Dammit woman. You are so infuriating.” Thunder growled through his teeth.
She rolled her eyes and got under his other arm. “You’re the one to talk. You should be in a fucking hospital!”
He limped along as Jaxson and Bella helped him. “God, I cannot wait to shut that mouth of yours!”
I laughed but then worried about her response.
She said not a thing as she gave me a wink. “Game on, Thunder.”
He laughed again.
We got outside and a ton of bikers surrounded us like wave of testosterone fueled guards. They all had guns and serious expressions as they circled around us like human shields.
I looked back and saw Geneva and the girls.
She looked worried.
I waved and mouthed, “Thank you.”
She gave me a wink then turned to her girls. “Come on, its show time you pussies!”
In the Next Story Of Jaxson…
Bruno had set a meeting with the factions. He intended to set the whole situation before them. He would make his case and let them all decide. But he had a few aces up his sleeve. These men were cruel, he knew them all well. He would need the extra insurance. He knew though that he couldn’t have a war in the streets. He had a plan that he hoped would work to make sure his son was safe. He also had plans for Thunder.
When they’d gotten back to the compound, the doctor had to be called back to take care of him. The doctor said he had to put Thunder into a coma, so his body could heal. Damn man had to be shut down just so his body could get a fucking break.
Bella refused to leave his bedside. Bruno had supposed she was his woman even if she hadn’t known it. He knew he would come out of it and be back to his old self. Thunder did things his own way.
Then there was the matter of his nephew. He already knew who and where he was, thanks to Marco’s IT guys. He also had found out who the traitor was. Yes, he knew about Anthony and his escape. It had surprised him when he found out who’d help him get away, but he waited for the last piece of the puzzle before he faced the man off. He wasn’t sure if it was one man alone, so he’d set up a trap to see for sure. It rankled him to have two faced bikers in the Devils. They would pay the price soon.
A lot depended on him. He would handle the mob factions, but his son and Thunder probably weren’t going to like what had to be done. Yes, he respected their sense of rightness and he agreed with that. It was just that sometimes, you couldn’t fix things with those aspirations. It was a mean cold world and if a man did not do whatever was necessary to protect it…Everything would fall.
He hadn’t seen Jaxson for a whole day. It didn’t surprise him though, he had vowed to make sure Chloe never thought of leaving him again. Bruno chuckled as he lit his cigar and looked over at Marco. He is my kid after all. These were the men he had chosen to run his MC and he’d never regretted it.
“We ready Bruno?” Marco asked.
“Yeah, we got the autopsy, the proof right?”
Marco nodded. “We got a lot to lose, if this doesn’t work, Bruno. God damn, it is daring. These men aren’t fools ya know?”
“I fucking know that. I’m counting on that in fact. I got more to unload on the Bianchis. Shit, they don’t want the factions to know about.”
Marco shook his head. “Where’d you get that info? Not from me.”
Bruno nodded and blew out a smoke ring. “It was something Charlie left me. A trump card only to be played in the most dire of circumstances. And this here, is fucking dire. I can’t lose my son or my VC. I also cannot have blood running in the streets.”
Marco stared at Bruno. “It’s that good? This gift Charlie left you?”
“It’s fucking redemption. Al Bianchi fucking told Bella Charlie sold her! That shit was a lie. They were covering their asses.” Bruno stood up and stubbed out his stogie. “Well, this shit stops today.”
Marco stood up and nodded as he grabbed his briefcase.
Bruno smirked. “It’s like I always say. You put a man down and make sure he stays there.” He headed out.
Marco followed him.
