“He’s been so supportive and amazin’ with Josie and I think havin’ him at her 1st birthday party last week made him so happy.”

“He was really happy. He also went a little overboard on the gift,” I laugh, remembering how many hours it took us to put together that treehouse.

He’s a great man, and we spent a lot of time together that day building the house, having a few beers and talking about life. I told him how big of a dick I thought he was for leaving the love of my life behind as a little girl and he told me how he’d kill me with his bare hands if I ever did the same to her.

Men take a little more time to figure shit out, so seeing how much he’s around now, I can move past it. He didn’t leave me though, and I know it’ll take Jenna a lot longer to forgive him fully.

“I think I’m gonna ask him. I...I have you and Josie now, so if he does decide to up and leave, I still have a lovin’ and supportive family that’ll pick me up.”

“J, if he ever decides to ghost again, he’s a dead man. I think you’re doing the right thing. He loves you and he loves Josie and I think he finally realized what he missed all these years.”

  “Thank you, baby.”

“I can’t wait to marry you.”

“I can’t wait to marry you either, Balboa.”

Jenna’s father tapping my shoulder breaks me out of my thoughts and I smile, shaking his hand as he pulls me to him.

“Cherish her like I should have, my boy. Both of them.”

  “Will do, sir.”

He pulls me in for a hug and I slap his back a few times before he finally gives me his daughter.

I smile at her, pulling her veil over her head and without thinking, I grab her cheeks and kiss the shit out of her. I hear cat calls and cheers in the background and Jenna laughs against my lips, lightly pushing on my chest.

“Stop stealin’ kisses, we ain’t married yet. You always were a little quick to pull the trigger.”

She smirks at me and I move my lips to her ear.

“You’re gonna pay for that one later, future wife.”

She giggles as we step back, holding hands with Josephina walking back and forth in between us. The ceremony goes too slow with only one thing on my mind; making Jenna Watson my wife. Finally, after what feels like hours, the pastor announces us Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Morgan and I kiss my bride like it’s just the two of us.

We grab hands as I let out a yell, lifting her arm as we make our way down the aisle and up toward the side yard where my parents set up a dance floor, tables and chairs and a bar. We didn’t want anything fancy and where else would we get married than the place we first really fell in love? A place that was so important for our relationship and our careers.

With five bestsellers under our belt, we’ve slowed down a little, enjoying parenthood and the past year with Josephina. We’ve even talked about adding another Morgan to the mix after our wedding and have been practicing non stop.

“You happy?” Jenna asks as we walk out onto the dance floor for our first dance.

“So happy. You know this has given me a really solid idea for our next book.”

  “Oh yeah?”

“Hell yes. Two romance authors, unlucky in life and love until they finally realize they both had what they were looking for right in front of their eyes.”

“Sounds super cheesy,” Jenna laughs, kissing me.

“Right? Surprise pregnancy, beautiful epilogue, promises of more babies. Cliche after cliche.”

Jenna laughs again, shaking her head as the song ends and people start piling onto the dance floor.

“Hey, you two. Can we talk to you?”

My ma and father come up next to us and I nod as we all walk off the dance floor.

  “What’s up?”

“You father and I have been talking…”

  “Don’t tell me you’re pregnant,” I interrupt.

“God no,” my ma laughs. “We...want to give the Lake George house to the two of you.”

  “What?” Jenna gasps.

My father nods, putting an arm around my ma.

“We know your home is in Nashville now, but whenever you want to come back to New York, we want you to have a place to stay. In a few more years when your father steps down and sells the company, we’ll probably buy something up here, get away from the city.”

“Really?” I ask, looking between the two of them.

“Yes,” my ma answers. “It means a lot to the two of you and if it weren’t for this place, we wouldn’t have our grandbaby.”

  “Are you sure Chloe—”

“Thinks this is an amazing idea? Yes,” my sister interrupts from behind us. “Yes I freaking do. Now, let’s celebrate someone actually wanting to spend the rest of their life with you because truthfully, I didn’t think it would ever happen.”

I laugh, pulling Chloe into my arms and rub at her head, ignoring her protests of keeping her hair in place.

  “Love you, sister.”

  “Love you too.”

My father, Ma and Chloe all walk back to the dance floor and I grab Jenna in a hug as Josie makes her way to us.

“Wow, this is...this is incredible. I can’t believe this is ours now,” Jenna whispers.

I lift Josie in my arms, wrapping the other around Jenna and kiss them both on the top of their heads.

“We are going to give Josephina exactly what you should have had, J. I promise you that I am going to be the best damn father and husband you could have ever imagined.”

I pull her into my chest, pressing another hard kiss on the top of her head and hear her sniffle.

She looks up at Josie, kissing her cheek and then wraps both of her hands around my face and smirks at me.

“And then she kissed the shit out of her hero 'til her lips turned numb and they lived happily ever after.”
