Her Kind of Cowboy Page 18

by Charlotte Douglas

While their guests cheered, Caroline threw her arms around his neck, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him. “Cowboy or not, you’re the best man on the planet, and I’m proud to be your wife.”

“Enough of that mushy stuff,” Hannah interrupted. “Let Daniel cut his cake.”

Ethan slung his arm around Daniel’s shoulder, and Caroline took Hannah by the hand. Together they climbed the porch steps to the buffet table where a huge sheet cake shaped like a mortarboard with tassel waited. Daniel cut the slices, Hannah held the plates, and Caroline scooped ice cream to serve their friends.

  One big happy family.

Ethan felt moisture prick the back of his eyelids. Life was good and getting better every day. He was one lucky man.
