“Don’t worry. These drunk assholes are always causing trouble. That’s what we’re here for. A night in jail will give him some time to think about his mistakes.”

“He’s getting out in the morning?”

“As long as he doesn’t do anything stupid in his cell, he’ll be all right. Don’t you worry now.”

Aden stared at me, his eyes unblinking. I wasn’t sure what to make of whatever the hell was going through his mind. I knew that I would get the answers eventually when I saw him again.

For now, all I could do was watch him get shoved into the backseat of a police cruiser.

  “Hey.”

Lauren put a hand on my shoulder.

“It looks like we won’t have to be dealing with those assholes tonight.”

  “Yeah…”

“What’s wrong? Out of all people, I figured you’d be in a good mood.”

I shook my head to try and forget about what just happened. I gave Lauren a smile.

“You’re right,” I sighed. “The night’s not over. Let’s get back to work.”

  Chapter 14

  DANICA

The police in Ivory were never too hard on the MCs in town. There was a time just a few years ago when someone got killed by a club member and it was all over the front page news. Cops were quick to make sure that the situation didn’t escalate. Over time though, things slowly started to go back to normal.

Everybody knew the MCs were always up to no good. They just did a better job of hiding it. Clubs were an institution in Ivory and for whatever reason, the sheriff’s department didn’t want to bother changing it. For better or worse, it was something that everybody had to live with.

I didn’t have any opinion on it one way or another. I made a good living working at a bar where drunk bikers were just throwing their money at me. But now that the Iron Spades were in town, there was an anxiety inside of me that twisted my stomach. Hawk and his gang bothered me in a way that I couldn’t shake. With Aden clearly involved, I knew that this situation was only just beginning.

Aden didn’t give me any answers though. When I picked him up from the police station, all he gave me was a quick thank you. He was silent on the ride home back to his place. I thought about questioning him but I figured I would get all of the answers sooner or later.

Aden’s place wasn’t anything glamorous. Just a small, one-bedroom apartment. I waited in his living room. Sitting on his couch, I listened to the sound of him in the shower. He was showering for so long that I started to doze off…

  “Hey.”

My eyes shot open and I saw Aden standing before me in nothing but a towel. I could see all of the intricate ink on his tan skin. From his abdomen to his defined chest, every single muscle on him never failed to make me stare.

He plopped on the couch next to me while I sank deeper into my seat.

“You all right?” he asked. “You look like you didn’t get any sleep.”

“I got as much sleep as I usually do, I suppose. I work late at Finn’s, so I’m used to waking up later.”

“Thanks again for picking me up. I… I wasn’t sure who else to call.”

“It’s all right. I wanted to make sure that you’re okay.”

Aden looked away from me and stared out the window. Something was clearly on his mind.

“Are you all right?” I asked.

He sighed a deep breath through his nose. His jaw tensed for a second. I could see the fatigue in his eyes. I guess that’s what happened when you had to spend a night in jail. I kept waiting for an answer but it never came.

“Those guys you got into it with,” I continued. “The Iron Spades. I’m not sure you should be messing with them.”

  Aden turned back to me.

  “Why’s that?” he asked.

“I don’t know,” I said with a shrug. “I’ve seen them around. I’ve just got a bad feeling about them.”

“It’s nothing you need to worry about.”

“That’s just it. I don’t care about me. I work at Finn’s. Assholes will be assholes. But you… You just walked up to one of them by yourself and slugged the biggest man in the group.”

Aden stared down at the floor, his gaze lost in whatever it was he was thinking about.

“Are you going to tell me what’s going on? I know I’m just…”

I sighed before I said it.

“…I know I’m just a hook-up. This isn’t supposed to be anything more than two people trying to satisfy one another’s needs—”

“Then there’s nothing for you to worry about. This is something I need to deal with. No one else.”

  “Aden—”

He moved closer to me and put his mouth on mine. I closed my eyes and let him take me. His tongue danced between my teeth. I licked his tongue back. The scruff on his face was rough against my cheeks. He kissed me so deep that any doubts or troubles or worries I might’ve had about what was going on with him left my mind.

I wanted to do something for him. If this was what he wanted, I would do it.

I reached my hand down and felt over the towel. His cock was hard and throbbing through the fabric. I gripped his tight length in my palm and stroked him softly while our tongues continued to dance together. The messy sound of our kisses bounced off the walls of his small apartment.

  “Aden… Let me…”

I whispered between his lips. That intense, hazel-eyed stare of his was locked on me. There was a fire dancing inside his eyes. A fire that ignited all of the desire I had for him.

My hand peeled back his towel and revealed the throbbing length. His cock was so full and proud. My mouth watered just from the sight of it.

I instinctively leaned forward and kissed his tip. His dick twitched. Another kiss pulled a deep sigh out of him.

Aden sank into his seat, his arms spread across the cushions behind him. He was giving me full access to him. There was no reason for me to refuse.

My tongue moved over the side of his shaft. One long, slow lick wet the side of his length. I gripped his base in my palm to make sure that it didn’t twitch out of place. One more lick made him throb again.

My mouth was so wet that I couldn’t hold back any longer. I lowered my face down even farther and took his tip between my lips. I sucked gently on his head then proceeded to engulf his dick completely.

  “Oh… Fuck…”

A deep sigh told me I was giving him exactly what he needed at the moment. There was nothing more satisfying than knowing you were able to please a man. But a man like Aden was someone more rewarding than any other man I’d ever been with.

I took his cock completely, letting him rest firmly inside of my throat. I swallowed and gagged on him. The spit dripped out of my watering mouth and poured down the sides of his shaft. I made a mess of his cock as I kept swallowing and sucking on him. The wet smacks of my mouth on him grew louder to accompany the heavy breathing I heard coming from him.

Aden did his best to hold back. I wanted him to tangle his hand in my hair. I wanted him to push my face down and make me choke on him even though tears were already leaking down my eyes. I wanted him to thrust his hips up and fuck my mouth.

But no… more than anything else, I wanted to do all of the work myself. Whatever it was Aden was going through, I wanted to do this for him. I wanted to be there for him.

I swallowed his cock until his dick was completely coated with my spit. I pulled away just long enough to kiss him. Another tender kiss turned the inferno in my belly into something so hot that I had to be satisfied just the same as him.

“Lay back… Let me do this…”

I whispered the words, my mouth close to his, to reassure him that it was what I wanted.

I took my bottoms off quickly and straddled him. I looked into his eyes while I grabbed his cock. I guided his shaft toward my entrance and let him plunge himself into me. Every inch of his cock that disappeared into me made my eyes flicker until I was forced to close them.

  “Goddamn…”
/>
He was so hard. His stiff dick throbbed against my insides and made my whole body vibrate. He felt so fucking good. It was like nothing else mattered when he was inside of me.

I wrapped my arms around his broad shoulders and slowly bounced up and down on top of him. I grinded against him, rubbing my clit against the base of his cock while it rubbed against my insides.

Aden kept his arms spread, gripping the cushions behind him so that I could do all the work.

“Let me… Just like this… Just like this…”

I could barely get the words out between deep breaths. My rhythm started to increase on its own. Hips grinding. Ass moving back and forth. Hair flailing in every direction. I rode Aden like my life depended on it.

I swallowed to clear my suddenly dry throat. All of the moans and whimpers got stifled. All that came out were heavy breaths through my nose.

Aden was breathing hard just the same. Grunts through gritted teeth and hardened muscles signaled that he was close to the edge. His body started to sweat but I kept my hands on him the best I could.

I used whatever strength I had left to open my eyes. I pressed my forehead to his and looked into his eyes.

“Go ahead,” I whispered. “Come inside of me… Give it to me…”

He didn’t need to say a single word. All he had to do was stare at me the way he did to turn me on.

His jaw tensed, making the chiseled features of his face more pronounced. The unblinking stare of his somehow became even more intense. I grinded against him as fast as I could, tightening myself around his cock until neither one of us could hold back.

  “Ahh… Fuck!”

I shouted out uncontrollably. My eyes shut on their own. Every muscle in my body tightened. I held my breath as I started to spasm from my orgasm. Wonderful waves of pleasure pulsed from my core and surged through the rest of me. My back arched so that I could take as much of his cock into me. My toes curled. My hands squeezed his broad shoulders so damn hard.

The entire time, Aden laid back with his cock inside of me, his body trembling underneath me as thick throbs of his cum filled me up.

I was desperate. Desperate to have his cum inside of me. Desperate to satisfy the desire that we both had. Desperate to forget about whatever the hell was on both of our minds.

But coming hard only made it that much harder when you came back.

I fell forward and collapsed on top of him. I rested my head on his shoulder while I tried to catch my breath. My body was wet with sweat. My muscles ached. I knew I would be sore for a few days from riding him.

I took a few seconds to regain my senses.

“Whatever it is you’re doing, I’m there for you,” I whispered.

I slowly sat up straight and looked into his eyes. Aden stared back at me. I wasn’t sure what to make of what he was thinking but I knew how I felt.

“I don’t know what this is,” I said. “I don’t know what we are. But if there’s a way I can help you, you have to tell me.”

“Danica… You’ve already done more than I could ask from you. You can’t help me.”

Aden turned and looked out of his window. It was bright and early in Ivory and everybody was just getting their day started.

“What do you know about the Spades?” he asked suddenly.

“Not much,” I said with a shrug. “Just that they’re a bunch of assholes and they only showed up in Ivory recently. Do you want me to find out more about them—”

“No. I can get the information I need on them. I know who I need to talk to.”

  Chapter 15

  ADEN

With all of the shit going on with Isaac and the Spades, the last thing I wanted to do was get Danica involved in any of it. She said she wanted to help me. She was sincere about it. That only meant that I had to keep her out of it.

I spent as much time as I could with her. It was only one night in jail but shit wasn’t pleasant. When I got out, seeing her was exactly the breath of fresh air I needed.

It was later in the afternoon when I decided that I needed to get some shit done.

I started by having a drink. I swirled around a glass of gin, my thoughts lost as I waited for who I needed to talk to. The entrance to the bar opened up but I didn’t pay much attention to it. The figure approached me until they were right next to me.

  “There you are.”

I glanced at Mia and she smiled softly back at me.

“Look at you,” she said. “Still early and you’re having a drink instead of being at the gym where you should be.”

“You’re right,” I said. “I should be at the gym. I’m just not in the mood right now. Sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it. You’ve already trained me enough. I can handle myself. Besides, I have other things I need to do.”

I didn’t notice the small baby she was holding in her arms. Or maybe I did and I just had other shit on my mind. Mia was a young woman and from what little I knew about her, she was a good mother.

“What are you doing here?” she asked.

“The club is having a meeting right now…”

“Right… Club business. It’s always club business. How’s Hades treating you?”

“Hades is clean even though the place is as old as shit. It’s comfortable. The crowd is respectful, for the most part. I think I’ll make it.”

“You let me know if there’s anything you need.”

  “Thanks, Mia.”

Mia put a hand on my shoulder and excused herself to the back of the clubhouse.

There were only a few others in the clubhouse at the moment. Just a couple of guys who wanted to enjoy a drink in the middle of the afternoon. I didn’t know who they were but I figured they were trying to forget some bullshit in their lives the same as me. I had to keep my focus though. This shit had to be settled and it started right here.

One of the doors to a room in the back opened up. I looked over and saw someone approaching me.

His hair was dark and slick over his head. He probably hadn’t shaved in a few days. He had a leather jacket on with the Devils patch on his chest. As he got closer to me, I glanced at the patch and read his name.

  “Joker…”

“That’d be me,” he said. “I never liked the name but apparently we can’t pick our own road names.”

  “So what is your name?”

  “Hunter.”

  “Hunter… I’m—”

  “Aden Mercer.”

A smirk formed on his lips like he was up to something. If he weren’t wearing the patch, I would’ve felt threatened. But he just kept grinning at me like a moron as he took a seat next to me.

“Sebastian didn’t know who you were. Roman didn’t either. But I know. I made a lot of money off of you. Thanks for that.”

  “You’re welcome.”

“All of a sudden you just disappeared. There were all sorts of rumors about you. Some people said you just went sailing off into the Pacific and disappeared in the ocean. Some people said you died. Some people said you faked your own death. But here you are in Ivory. Some might say that’s pretty much the closest thing you can do to dying without actually doing it. You ever hear about any of those rumors?”

“I never gave a shit about rumors. People talk. They always talk. There’s nothing you can do to shut them up, even if you tell them the truth.”

Hunter gave me a nod as he looked me up and down.

“It looks like everybody was wrong,” he said. “I know why you came to Ivory.”

  “Do you?”

“You wanted to disappear. A small town like Ivory. Why the fuck else would you come here?”

As cocky as Hunter looked, it was clear that he wasn’t an idiot. He gave me a smirk and patted me on the shoulder.

“We were just talking about you,” he said. “The boys were talking about patching you in.”

“What do you think? You think I could get patched in?”

“It’s not up to me. Club with only three membe
rs means there isn’t much to vote on. I’d get out-voted by them either way. But… Having a man like No Mercy in the club…”

The grin on Hunter’s face grew even wider.

“…You’d be one hell of an enforcer.”

“Yeah, well, shit doesn’t play out in real life like it does in a boxing ring.”

“Maybe not. It wouldn’t hurt to have you around though.”

  “Joker!”

Sebastian’s voice boomed and interrupted my conversation with Hunter. Sebastian walked toward us with Roman by his side.

“Don’t mind Joker,” Sebastian said to me. “He gets on everybody’s nerves.”

“I only get on everybody’s nerves because they get mad that I’m always right,” Hunter said.

Sebastian rolled his eyes then turned to me.

“You wanted to talk to us,” he said. “Good. Because we wanted to talk to you about getting you in.”

“This isn’t about the club,” I said. “It’s about something else.”

  “Oh? What about?”

“…Is there somewhere we can talk about this?”

“We got another meeting room in the back. This way.”

I walked with Roman and Hunter behind Sebastian toward the back of Hades. There was a long hallway with several doors. Sebastian moved to one of the rooms and opened the door up. There wasn’t much inside of it outside of a table and a few chairs scattered around it.

I took a seat along with everybody else. Sebastian closed the door and looked right at me, holding his arms out.

  “What’s up?” he said.

“What do you know about the Iron Spades?”

Sebastian didn’t say anything immediately. He just stared at me and slowly started nodding.

  “You know who they are—”

“I know who they are,” he cut me off.

“Iron Spades?” Hunter said, an eyebrow raised.

“Awhile back there was a group called the Spades,” Sebastian explained. “Some skinhead group. A bunch of racist supremacists.”

“Sounds like a fun group,” Hunter added.

“They were assholes. Make no mistake about that. They never caused too much drama in Ivory. They kept to themselves on the outskirts. Cops might give MCs some leeway but there’s no way they’d take chances with a bunch of psychotics like the Spades.”
