Shadow Wolf: A Shifter Romance (Arctic Brotherhood, Book 2) Page 18

by Jane Godman

Grabbing her ankles, he slid her a few inches toward him, then pushed her legs wider apart, moving his hands to the undersides of her thighs. Leaning down, he stroked his tongue along her sweet, pink length and she rose up to meet him. Nibbling lightly at her clit with his teeth, he felt her instantly begin to shudder beneath him.

  “Oh God, Samson. Yes!”

She brought her legs up, tightening her knees around him, drawing him closer to her as she came. Samson kept his mouth on her, sucking her, driving her hard to keep the waves crashing over her.

Flipping her over, he raised her with an arm under her hips. Without warning, he thrust his throbbing length into her from behind so hard that her upper body was propelled forward. Her muscles were still clenching and unclenching as he slammed in and out of her, gripping her hips as hard as he could to control his thrusts. Valetta bucked back against him, crying out as another orgasm shook her. Samson held her convulsing body to him, pounding into her as he sought his own release. A long, low moan escaped her as she tightened even further around him. She threw her head back, her eyes squeezed shut.

“Fuck!” Samson muttered the word into the curve of her neck, his whole body tightening as he came high inside her. Valetta’s knees buckled and they both collapsed onto the mattress.

Easing out of her, Samson moved to one side, pulling her into his arms. “We should shower and get some food.” Valetta made a grumbling sound and snuggled closer. “Maybe later,” he conceded.

After some time, she lifted her head. “When you asked my mother about my children . . . ?” There was a shy look in her eyes that enchanted him.

“We don’t have to start right away. Although practicing is fun.”

She shook her head. “But did you mean it? That you want us to have a family?”

Samson leaned up on one elbow. “I want everything with you, Valetta. I love you. I never thought I would say that to another woman.”

She pressed a finger to his lips. “I know how much you loved Anna.”

“Yes, I loved her. A long time ago. And, ever since she died, I’ve been keeping my heart locked away in ice. I thought it was to preserve her memory, but it wasn’t. It was because I was scared of getting hurt again. Then you came along and, although I tried to deny what I felt for you, it was too strong.”

Valetta’s eyes sparkled with unshed tears. “I’ve always loved you. I just never hoped you could feel the same way, especially once you found out I was Shadow Born.”

Samson laughed, shifting position so that she was on top of him. “Are you kidding me? Every time I look at you, I’m blown away with how much I want you. And I have a theory about those pictures.”

“You do?” She traced the line of his jaw with one fingertip.

“I don’t think the pictures show you shadowing me, following me, or protecting me.” He caught hold of the hand that was following his jawline and raised it to his lips. “Whoever painted them knew what they were doing. Those paintings tell the true story. They show how you complete me.”

“We complete each other.” She laughed softly. “And before we join the others, maybe we could complete each other one more time?”

  Epilogue

He moved out of the shadows of the ruined fortress and surveyed the scene. The werewolves had done a good job of cleaning up the carnage. The ground was barely disturbed. It was only because he knew what he was looking for that he was able to make out the shape of the newly dug graves.

A smile touched Chastel’s lips as he stood looking down at the mound of earth closest to the cliff top. My grave. The Shadow Born’s mate should have listened to her when she’d asked him if it had been too easy.
