‘And I got rid of that ugly brooch,’ said Bonnie happily. ‘Two birds with one stone.’
Soon most of the girls who were being collected by their parents had gone, and the big hall became emptier, as only the train girls were left.
And at last the big coaches arrived to take them to the station, Felicity and Susan walking down the steps of the school together.
‘Another term over,’ said Susan. ‘And what an eventful term it’s been.’
‘Hasn’t it just!’ said Felicity. ‘You know, Susan, now I always feel a little more sad at the end of each term than I used to when we were lower down the school. I suppose it’s because I know that it won’t be so very long before we say goodbye to Malory Towers forever.’
‘Well, we still have one more term in the fifth,’ said Susan. ‘Then a whole year in the sixth, so really we still have quite a time to go. And I intend to make the most of every minute!’
‘Yes,’ said Felicity, sounding a little more cheerful. ‘That’s what we’ll do, Susan, when we come back. Make the most of every minute.’
