JAMES ROMM is the James H. Ottaway Jr. Professor of Classics at Bard College and the author of several books, including Ghost on the Throne: The Death of Alexander the Great and the War for Crown and Empire. He has edited and annotated translations of numerous Greek texts, most recently a collection of Plutarch’s Roman lives entitled The Age of Caesar.
DAVID ROSENBLOOM is Chair of the Ancient Studies Department at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is author of Aeschylus: Persians and co-editor of Greek Drama IV: Texts, Contexts, Performance, as well as numerous articles and chapters on Athenian drama, oratory, and history.
SARAH RUDEN (Harvard Ph.D., Johns Hopkins Writing Seminars M.A.), an award-winning poet, has published five previous books of translation from Greek and Roman literature, most recently The Golden Ass of Apuleius and Augustine’s Confessions, as well as The Face of Water: A Translator on Beauty and Meaning in the Bible.
EMILY WILSON is Associate Professor in Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work includes a book on tragedy and reception (Mocked with Death: Tragic Overliving from Sophocles to Milton); The Death of Socrates: Hero, Villain, Chatterbox, Saint; Seneca: A Life; and Seneca: Six Tragedies.
