What Da Lick Read? The Triple Cross Page 21

Khalil walked back into the office and sat down.

“Well that was some good news, I guess. Loyalty said that Killian has woken up, so I need to be headed down there.”

“Wait a minute before you leave, listen to this. He went by Poke’s house to get him to bring him to Sam last night, he seen something.” Ponchees said not breaking his stare at Rafek.

“No wait a minute! Tell it just like you told me, including the part about who was in the Porsche.” Sam wanted to have all her bases covered. She could not take the fall for nobody else’s lapses of judgment.

Rafek nervously repeated the story, but this time he included the fact that it was Gorgeous that was getting in the Porsche.

“There is no way that is possible. Gigi was right there beside me at the hospital all last night.” Khalil interrupted in a roar. Then he suddenly looked at Ponchees and the both of them said it at the same time.

  “Beautiful.”

Ponchees, jumped out of his seat.

“Well I’ll be damned! Let’s get over to the hospital right now.”

Chapter 32: So you see what happened was…

Loyalty sat beside Killian’s bed and looked down at him. He seemed to be sleeping so peacefully. He had just awakened fifteen minutes ago for the first time since the accident. The first and only thing that he seemed to be worried about was Leigh. Loyalty immediately called her father to let him know that he had woke up after she notified the nurse. Two doctors rushed in accompanied by a nurse. They checked his vitals and adjusted his medication drip then left back out. They told him that they would return once his father arrived. Killian looked up at Loyalty and he could barely speak for the tube down his throat. He tried to speak in spite of it. She struggled to make out what he was saying. He asked her two questions, why am I here? And where is Leigh? Loyalty looked down at her brother and tried to hold back the tears as she told him that there was a car accident. She got quiet because she didn’t want to tell him about Leigh. He asked her again and she told him that she is here. He drifted back off to sleep.

So many tragic things had happened in their lives in such a short period of time. She glanced at her cell phone that she was holding. She still had not received a call from K.J. yet. As she looked at her brother who in an instant had lost the love of his life and his leg, she rubbed her flat stomach and thought about her life and what she was going to do. Loyalty scooted to the edge of her seat and reached out and grabbed her brother’s hand. They were always the closest out of the four of them. They were the same age and despite having different mothers, they both looked just alike.

“I hope you can make it through this and not give up on life, because I know you. This is either going to kill you or make you a beast and I don’t want either. I just want you to be back to your normal self. I wish I could rewind back the hands of time; we need to do this entire month over. This shit has been too crazy. I should be grateful for my health and strength and have my worry focused on helping you get better, but I can’t focus. Killa, what am I going to do? K.J. will not talk to me. They got my face and name all over all of the blogs, badmouthing me like I’m some two dollar hooker and to top it all off, I’m pregnant. What in the world am I going to do? What have I gotten myself into?”

Tears poured down her face as she poured her heart out to her brother, not knowing her father was standing in the door listening to everything. She laid her head against the bed rail and dozed off to sleep.

Khalil shook his head as he listened to his daughter. When it rains, it storms. Loyalty and Killian were set to graduate later this year with their bachelor degrees, now he has lost a leg and she is pregnant. He turned and walked away from the room. He went to go and check on Gigi, Honesty and Concrete. Khalil knew that he had done a lot of wrong over the years. He killed people for money and sold poison in his own community for, goodness sake. His worst fear was that he would be taken away from his kids, either by someone killing him or him going to jail. He never in a million years would have thought that after he had gotten out of the game, that his family would be faced with so much turmoil. But he could do nothing but hold his head up high, and know that it was a part of the game. That bitch karma didn’t play and when she swoops down on you, there is nothing that you can do about it.

Ponchees, Sam and Fire were standing at the emergency room desk trying to figure out what they had done with Gigi, Honesty and Concrete when the ambulance brought them in. The security guard was giving them a hard time. Ponchees cleared his throat, his jaw was clenched tight and his temple was jumping. He was trying to maintain his temper. He muttered something in Spanish under his breath and Fire turned and walked out of the sliding glass doors. Sam knew this only meant trouble. She stepped forward and leaned over the desk, her plunging neckline on her shirt showed her cleavage.

"Excuse me; I'm sorry for any misunderstanding or confusion that we've caused by bursting in here in such an uproar. Please sir put yourself in our shoes. If your loved ones had come in here after an explosion you wouldn't be able to calm your emotions either."

The security guard's facial expression softened. He started pecking on the computer keyboard.

"Ma’am the two females are in observation rooms in the back. I cannot see in the system where the young man is. A nurse will be back shortly. If you can take a seat, I will make sure that she addresses your needs as soon she returns."

Sam was pleased with what he told her, she smiled as she put her arm through Ponchees arm and led him to the chairs.

"See baby you catch more bees with honey. Calm down, I see fire coming out of your ears."

  __________

Reality sat at the table with the two laptops in front of her. She had tapped into the Georgia DOT's database and she was looking at recorded footage of the accident. She paused it and zoomed in. She then rewound the footage and watched it in slow motion.

D.J. walked into the room quietly. He was trying to do his best to keep her calm. He had just come from his prayer room offering prayer for her and her family. He watched her with her brows furrowed as she stared at the screen on the laptop. He went over to where she was sitting; he leaned down and massaged her shoulders. D.J. felt the tension in her shoulders.

She looked up at him, "Baby watch this right here." Reality made the footage start from when Killa's car first came down the onramp.

D.J. watched as the accident unfolded before his eyes in slow motion. He gasped as he saw the car make impact with the passenger side and bounce the car back into oncoming traffic. A few seconds passed before another car slammed into the driver's side. It was amazing that Killa even survived the accident. He reached down and grabbed Reality's face. Her mascara was running along with the tears that streaked her face. He wiped them away and kissed her deeply.

"Baby don't do this to yourself. If you keep watching this you are going to wind up sick."

"But baby, tell me what you just saw as you watched the accident happen. I want make sure that I am not seeing things. Look at it just once more." Reality hit a few buttons on the Mac keyboard and the video replayed in slow motion.

"Wait a minute! Is there any way that you can zoom in? It looks like the car wouldn't stop. I want to see if I can make out if your brother was pumping the brakes." D.J. leaned over to get a closer look at the laptop screen.

"Yes I can. You know that I can do everything." Reality hit a few keys and the view switched. You couldn't make out whether Killa was pumping the brakes but you could tell that he had the steering wheel clinched tight like he was bracing himself for impact. The only reason that he would know that there was going to be an impact was if he knew that the brakes were gone.

"The car had no brakes. Somebody sabotaged him. I can tell. They probably cut the brake line. When your dad hears about this, all hell is gonna break lose.” D.J. reached for his phone on the counter as it rung.

Reality stared at the computer screen. Her phone rang and she reached for her purse. Jaimes handed it to her. She
hadn’t been working like she normally does with all of the stuff going on. The workers were getting antsy because their funds were running low. Reality had stayed up all night getting corporate account numbers over to her check guy. He had called her two hours ago to let her know that the checks were ready. She had been so engrossed in the accident footage that she forgot that ten people were ready to go drop the checks in banks around the surrounding cities.

D.J. hung up the phone and leaned over and started to kiss her neck from behind. Reality reached up and cradled his head and moaned as his tongue planted warm kisses up and down her neck. She turned around to face him and took his face in her small hands as she kissed him on his full lips parting his lips with her tongue. D.J. reached down and picked her up swiftly. Reality wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her off to the bedroom. He laid her down on top of the bed as he began to take off his shirt.

She reached for his pants and undid his belt buckle. Before he could finish the last button on his Ralph Lauren button down, his pants and boxer briefs were around his ankles and his penis was in her hands being stroked to its full length. Reality kissed the tip before attempting to deep throat him entirely. D.J. threw his head back in ecstasy and moaned aloud. You would have thought that Reality was a porn star the way she kissed, licked and sucked on his penis. He couldn’t take the pleasure that she was giving him any longer, he was about to explode at any minute. D.J. pulled her up and peeled off her clothes as she was standing in front of him, kissing his chest. He turned her around and bent her over the edge of the bed and eased his throbbing penis into her tight dripping hole. He hissed at her tightness.

Reality was a virgin just two weeks ago but now she was taking the dick like a pro. As soon as he was all the way inside of her, she started to throw the pussy back at him. Her small waist, big ass and hips performed a mesmerizing dance to a beat that he didn’t hear. This was the best feeling in the world to him, and just like the first time he wanted to feel this intoxicating feeling each and every day. Reality was close to having her second orgasm as she reached under him and massaged his balls as he pounded in and out of her. Guttural noises escaped as she bit down on her bottom lip and looked back with her eyes halfway open. Jaimes thrust hard and Reality hollered out “oh shit nigga.” They collapsed forward on the bed, with Jaimes trying not to put all his weight on Reality.

“Baby, you are heavy as hell, you weigh like a hundred pounds more than I do and then you are all muscle. I can barely breathe.” Reality said as she tried to wiggle from under Jaimes.

Jaimes rolled off of Reality and propped himself up on his elbow.

“Bae, we got to show your dad that video, and in a hurry. Someone is around here wreaking havoc on your family and we need to find out who it is and quickly before they do something else.”

Reality got up off the bed and walked toward the bathroom naked. She had so much to do especially since she had been slacking with her business lately.

“Yeah, I gotta show Pop-Pop that. But first I got to go and see bout this money.”

Her phone rang as she turned on the water. She ignored the call and got into the steaming hot shower. She had a total of fourteen people working for her and when she slacked they didn’t make money. The first requirement of a boss is to make sure that your crew stays eating.

D.J. crept into the shower with her. He turned the opposite way and allowed the other shower head to drench him. He had plenty of business issues that needed to be taken care of also. Ever since he and Reality had gotten serious he hadn’t been watching over all of his operations as closely as he should. He was about to go into the field today. He had to stop by his automotive shop, and go to his two spots. Love was all fine and good, but money still had to be made. He washed himself thoroughly and jumped out quickly leaving Reality under the other shower head. It was a cloudy and dismal day in the city, he went into his walk in closet and grabbed a pair of True Religion jeans, a Polo sweater and his Polo boots and headed into his bedroom to put them on.

By the time Reality got out of the shower, Jaimes had put on his clothes and was sitting on the bed scrolling through his phone. She walked up to him, kissed him on his forehead, took off her towel and started to dry off. Not only did she love him, she was in love with him and she felt it down in her bones.

“Why did you have to come and do that in front of me? You know that you are irresistible to me. Let me get out of here before all my workers have a mutiny. They barely see me.” Jaimes got up, walked over to Reality and grabbed her face. He kissed her deeply.

“Your truck will be ready today, but you can continue to drive my car if you want to.”

“No, I want my truck; your Maserati is too damn flashy for everyday life baby. You need to get you a Beamer or a Benz.”

“We will go car shopping this weekend baby. I love you.” He walked out of the door. Jaimes knew that he had to get his head in the game. He left his heart on the other side of the door as he got on the elevator.

Reality dressed quickly in a pink and red Nike sweat suit with matching Air Max. She braided her red hair into an Indian braid that fell down her back. She put on some M·A·C Wonder Woman nude lipglass and headed out the door. Reality was loaded down with her laptop bag that held her two laptops and her purse, but she had her chrome nine millimeter pistol with the pink pearl handle in her hand as she made her way to the elevator. As it was closing, a big hand reached in and stopped it. She knew that she couldn’t be too cautious, shit was happening all around her. Her paranoia had the building’s maintenance man staring down the barrel of her pistol.

Chapter 33: Same Face, Different Paths

Honesty and Gigi sat there looking at Concrete as he lay in the hospital bed. His body was too long for the bed, so his feet were hanging off the edge. They had just brought him back from getting a CAT scan. He was still unconscious, but his breathing had regulated.

Gigi had a concussion with a bad bruise on her forehead. But that was the least of her worries. They didn’t have a clue as to what was wrong with Concrete. She hoped that whatever it was, that it wasn’t as serious as it was when he had gotten hurt on the football field. He had been in a coma for almost six months and had to learn how to walk again. But the worst part about it was the fact that he woke up and both of his parents were dead. They had died in a car accident rushing to the hospital after he had gotten hurt. His father died on impact but his mother was brain dead for an entire month before his great aunt decided to take her off life support.

Also, during that time, Sillk had gotten diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Gigi had lost weight, her hair fell out and she almost got kicked out of school for getting into a fight. Concrete was her best friend, they were closer than her brother and sister that were born only minutes apart. She didn’t know what she would do if something happened to him.

Ponchees walked into the room and silently came up behind Gigi and put his arms around her. She leaned into him and put her arm around him also. She was happy that he was here with her. He has been her rock ever since Black Sillk died; even being miles away in Mexico he still played a major role in her life.

“What have the doctors said? How are his vitals? If they aren’t giving you the answers that you need we can have him moved to another hospital or fly in a specialist. Whatever you need is right at your fingertips. I need Concrete A-1 because he is the only one that I trust when it comes to you.”

Honesty looked at Ponchees and wondered if he knew about her and Gigi’s relationship. More than likely he did. He was the all-seeing and all-knowing. He looked up at her as he felt her gaze resting on him. He reached over and grabbed her into the embrace. This was comforting to her. It gave her confirmation that he did know and that he was alright with it. Ponchees let the both of them go and exited the room as silently as he had entered.

“All this shit going on, I need a muthafucking drink. I swear I’m gonna be an alcoholic before it’s over with. It’s just something about the way the liq
uor have me so mellow.”

“Baby, the last thing you need right now is a drink. You do not need to start running to the bottle every time you have a problem. You need to handle the problem. Problems are a part of everyday life, so you are destined to have them. You have to stay on your A game, fully focused. You have too many people depending on you. One misstep affects a whole team of people. Once this is all over and Concrete is out of the hospital, we are gonna go away for a while. Lie on the beach, soak up some sun, get massages, eat exotic foods, just relax and be away from it all. We deserve that much after all this hell that we have been through. Shit maybe we can even find Concrete a girlfriend. I know he gets tired of being alone.” Honesty held Gigi’s hand tight and she felt the nervousness in her. She just wished everything would get back to normal.
