“Babe, I’m in charge of this. Just let it happen. I want you to lay down on the rug in front of the fireplace, raise your knees, and spread those beautiful thighs. Then I want you to close your eyes and wait for me.”
Sky didn’t want to do any of those things at the moment. She wanted to touch, lick, and feel Bas, but she remembered the hotel and how much his instruction enticed and ultimately, energized her. Lying down on the faux bearskin rug, Sky was ready to laugh. Looking to Bas, he had a smirk on his face as well. She quickly regained her composure. Laying naked with her knees bent and spread, she felt a bit vulnerable, but knew Bas would make it all worth it.
Bas stared at his Sky, the love of his life and the most beautiful person he had ever seen. She had followed his instructions and was now waiting patiently for him. His cock was hard enough to hammer nails, and his balls were so tight, he was afraid he might blow or implode any moment. Sky had surprised him with her forwardness today. He was expecting her to be a bit standoffish after all that had happened, but was delighted she was willing to go forward with this, with him.
Hastily removing his clothes, he joined Sky on the rug. Damn, his mate was gorgeous. Her tight and pert breasts, her tiny, banging body. He longed to see her heavy with his child no matter what she’d said in the forest.
Lightly running his finger down her body, Bas was fascinated by the goosebumps that seemed to follow his touch. Sky nipples were tight, and he noticed her thighs and clef were soaking wet. Wanting to prolong the experience, he continued touching. When Sky growled, he knew she’d had enough. However, he couldn’t resist tormenting her a bit more. Using his mouth, he explored every bit of her body, moving down until he was at the place he craved more than air at the moment.
Bas gently grabbed Sky’s foot, placing it on his shoulder. When her breathing hitched, he knew she knew what he planned. Having waited for this moment for what seemed like forever, his first taste was more than he’d ever expected. Sky was sweet, soft, and so very wet for him. Unable to get enough, he sucked first her outer lips, enjoying the feel of her bare lips in his mouth. Then wanting another taste, he used his thumbs to open his prize to his view, delving his tongue into her feminine depths.
Sky was trembling and moving her hips, begging for more, but Bas wasn’t having any of that. Removing his finger, he placed one of his hands on her stomach, keeping her in place. Then he concentrated on the part of her which needed him the most. He was so turned on, he noticed the pre-cum dripping from his shaft on his stomach. He needed to give them both this before he exploded. Placing his lips around her clit, he sucked, then flicked the delightful bundle of nerves with this tongue.
Moving his hand, wanting Sky to move as she needed, he increased his efforts. When her movement became erratic, he placed first one finger, then two into her sheath, stretching her. When her pussy started to ripple and spasm with her upcoming release, he turned his fingers, finding and rubbing her g-spot. Just as she began to scream his name, he used his finger to break the barrier of her innocence.
Damn, his mate was so perfect. Climbing up her body, Bas didn’t wait for her to come back to earth. Plunging balls deep in one movement, he made them both cry out. His intention had been to go slow, but the moment had overwhelmed him. Damn, he had to slow down, stop for a moment to rein himself in. He didn’t want to hurt her. Looking down into Sky’s eyes, he couldn’t resist leaning forward and kiss,
“Babe, are you okay?” She answered him without words just pleading desire in her eyes begging him to continue and he was determined to give her everything they both so desperately wanted.
Once he regained a reasonable amount of control, he started to pump himself into her body. Setting a slow and leisurely pace he didn’t feel, but wanted to give her, he tried to concentrate on all he was feeling. But his little Sky had other ideas.
Sky felt so good, but Bas was keeping her right on the edge with his slow movements. She wanted sparkles. She needed, damn, she really didn’t know what she needed. She’d just gotten off, but could feel another orgasm building, and she wanted it. She tried lifting her hips to encourage him to go faster, harder, something, but he was so large, her movements were stilted. Deciding to try something else, she frantically grabbed his face. Sky kissed him with everything she had, mimicking what she wanted him to do with his dick. When that didn’t get what she wanted, she tried to roll them over, so she could take what she thought she needed. Looking up into Bas' eyes, she noticed the smile in them.
“Do you need something, baby?”
Sky growled. Yeah, she needed something. She just wasn’t quite sure what it was; faster, deeper, harder, something.
“Please.”
“Anything you need, baby. All you have to do is ask.”
Bas sat up, and at first, Sky was about to cry out, not wanting him to leave her. But when he took her feet and placed them on his shoulders, going to his knees, she could no longer speak or think. The new angle made his penetration deeper, hitting spots within her core she’d never known existed. When he started pounding into her, all she could do was beg for more.
Bas complied, and the results were explosive. Sky’s orgasm hit, but kept going. Her mind was chaotic and frenzied, and she was pretty sure her heart had stopped beating. It was unbelievable. She felt electrified. Her entire core was a live wire ready to combust. With a growl and a curse, Sky felt Bas' explosion in her womb. His warm jets of sperm seemed to pulsate through her body, creating another cataclysmic event.
Bas felt like he had died and gone to heaven. He had never cum so hard in his life. After Sky had exploded, her legs had fallen from his shoulders and to the sides of his body. When he realized he had fallen on top of her after his completion, he quickly moved to the side. Taking her with him, trying his damnedest to keep his now softening cock within her depths; he didn’t want to the moment to end. Looking down at his mate, he placed butterfly kisses all over her face, never been as happy as he was at that moment.
“Baby, I love you so much.” He had to laugh because although Sky was all smiles, he seemed to have fucked her senseless, she wasn't moving or saying a word. Giving her a few minutes, he just watched, when she brought her hand up to his face, he noticed something and grabbed her hand. Then he lifted his own as well. Their marks had changed. The original was still there, but now it was surrounded by another circle. They had been fate blessed. The circle completed their past, present, and future and were now joined. Incredible. Sky hadn’t said anything.
“Sky, baby, are you okay?”
Sky saw the marks and knew instinctively what they meant. She and Bas were, and had always been, fated. Now they had been blessed as well. They still had things they needed to work out, but that would happen over time. The bond they shared was now a warm blue and as thick as a tree trunk, and its roots ran very deep. Just like her love for this man.
“I was just wondering, now that I have been proved right and all, did you find my furry biscuit to your liking, Mr. Frost?”
“Yeah baby, now and forever,” Bas said.
New York, NAC Headquarters
Declan “Senior” Quinn was sitting at this desk sipping his favorite Scotch. It was aged, smoky, and held just the right amount of burn as it traveled down his throat. So much was changing. Secrets were coming out daily, and men he had trained, respected, and considered a part of his family were either crumbling under the pressure or prevailing. They had found traitors, spies, and plants in all the Teams he’d meticulously chosen years ago.
NAC wasn’t functioning as it had been intended. Very few Teams were going on missions. Now, all their focus and time was devoted to finding the women Franklin, Pandora, and Davis Defense engineered or on one of the many other problems those entities also created for the Shifter World. The Association had been an annoyance, but had just proved how dangerous they could be. They had information which shouldn’t have been possible or permitted. He was losing his firmly held grip, and it ticked him off.
A couple of things did make him smile though, little McKenna and now, Quinn. His life and legacy would live on through those two children. He knew his time was running short. Dragons weren’t like other Shifters; they didn’t go rogue. That was a secret his family had kept for thousands of years. With dragons, as long as they had an anchor, their time on the planet was infinite. The only problem or catch was that the anchor had to be solely that of the dragon.
Ryleigh had been that for him for many years, but once she mated to Jacks, she became his. Declan’s dragon was starting to fade. He also couldn’t just go out and adopt another child to replace her; that would be too simple. Just like the mating bond, the dragon chose the anchor. He didn’t feel that there was much he could do about it. Things were what they were, no matter how much people craved them to be otherwise. He would make sure the people he loved were taken care of for years to come. He just wouldn’t be there to witness their happiness.
Looking at the corner of the room, Declan leaned back in his chair. Declan knew he was there, had been there for a while now. He wasn’t willing to come out of the shadows just yet. For many years, he had allowed that the man was a loner, an uncommon occurrence among Shifters. Shifters needed the bonds of family, friendship, and pack to flourish. This man was the exception to that rule.
Deciding he had waited long enough Declan said, “Time to come out of the shadows, brother.” He leaned forward on his desk and grabbed another crystal tumbler, filling it with Scotch. The man who seemed to appear out of nowhere was the Shifters community’s own version of the boogie man. He held the stature of a Shifter, broad and heavily muscled. He also had the height and width of a formidable man. Declan was no slouch, but this man was a giant.
His hair was long and pitch black. His eyes were equally dark and held a coldness. The scar running from the corner of his eye down the side of his cheeks only added to his menace. There were other scars on his body, many of them, but his clothing covered them from view. His choice of clothing was always the same, black—black shirt, black pants, and a black coat which covered every inch of his skin. He wore a leather twine around his neck that held a silver medallion which had been handed down in his family. The medallion held his power. The power to not be seen or sensed by anyone unless he so chose. It was ancient magic Declan had only read about and one of the few things he feared as it was as black as the man’s clothing choice.
He didn’t move quickly or respond to Declan in any way. He simply strolled over, taking a seat in front of his desk. The man took the glass Declan had offered and took a drink. They both knew what this meeting was about and neither of them liked it, but still it had to be done. The choices and arrangements they made as young men were no longer possible. Things needed to change.
“It is good to see you again, Matthias. It has been too long,” Declan said.
“Oh, I don’t know about that, Declan. I think once a decade is plenty of time between visits. Our animals do not meld well together, and I have a feeling I’m not going to like what you have to say. Let’s get on with this.”
“It is time for you to take over and lead the Teams,” Declan announced.
“No, it is not, you’ve been training Jackson Thorp for that position. I’m to remain what I’ve always been, a shadow.”
“Things have changed, Matthias, and you know it. Jackson is otherwise occupied and can’t take my place at this time. He has a mate and a child to worry about now. His team is also finding their mates and having children of their own. His focus must remain right where it is, on them. My time is limited. My magic and dragon are fading. It’s time for you to take the place you were always meant to have and leave the black behind. We always knew this day would come. Why fight it?”
Matthias laughed, it was a sound that sounded foreign and rough coming from the man.
“So you say, Declan, but I don’t agree. You just need to find a new anchor, and everything can remain as it always has. I’ll run NAC from the shadows. I don’t need to come out to the community for that to happen. You’ve been pushing me for years to be more than the assassin I truly am. The only person in this room who needs to stop fighting is you.”
“See, that is where we disagree. It’s time you accepted your rightful place and claimed your son. He has no idea the power he holds, and you haven’t once attempted to train him in the ways of old. If he is one of the chosen and finds his mate that power will only increase. If you don’t show him the way of your people and how to harness that power, he could destroy everything we have worked for all these years. That’s your burden. I have trained and contained him for all these years, but with my dragon fading, I no longer have the ability. It’s time you stepped up to the plate. I’ll not allow you to hide from your responsibilities any longer.”
“You will not allow,” Matthias grunted. “When have you ever allowed me to do anything, Declan? I’m not one of your men. I don’t bow to your orders, and I certainly will not allow you to dictate the future. You, old friend, have forgotten your place in all of this. The mistakes of the past are not just mine. All you have to do is bond with your son, and he will become your anchor. The bonds between father and son do not diminish if he takes a mate. But instead of doing that, you’re running to look for something else and trying to push your will onto me. Why is that, old friend?
“Why would you insist I take on my son when you’re not willing to do the same? When is the last time you’ve seen him or talked with him, last week or possibly more recently? My son will contain his magic, I’ve made sure of that. He has been bound since birth. Your magic and dragon helped him through his transition that is all. What of your son though? He still doesn’t know his true nature. If he mates and his true beast emerges, how will you explain that? Or are you going to eliminate the threat of that happening like you did so long ago?”
“Fuck you!” Declan shouted. “I did what was necessary at the time. I don’t regret my choice. The girl was never meant to be his, and we both know that. I can throw just as much dirt in your face, Matthias, so don’t act holier than thou now because we both know you aren’t worthy. The sins of the father and all that fucking bullshit. If you don’t accept my request, then maybe you’ll agree to this. You owe me, Matthias, and it’s time to pay up. Tobias is alive, and I need to deal with him and what he’s doing. You can’t do that because you’re bound by blood to him, your mistake, not mine.”
“You’re wrong,” Matthias said, getting up from his seat, bringing his still full glass to his mouth and chugging it. “Tobias hasn’t been heard from in over twenty years. He hasn’t been a part of the community or influenced them since my release and him going into hiding. You’re just saying this to get me to do your bidding. Prove it, motherfucker. I’ll not be swayed by your lies.”
Declan got up from his seat and faced his oldest friend.
“I have never once lied to you. Tobias is alive. He started The Association and then abandoned them when he found a new purpose. That purpose is natural born females. He has figured out a way to create them when no one else could. I don’t know what his plan is, but Tobias has always been a twisted fuck. The natural born female we recently found was abandoned at the age of five and placed with humans. Why he did he do that? I don’t know, but we need to know. He always did like moving people around like pieces on a chessboard. If you didn’t have the blood bond and the inability to harm him, I would be sending you instead of going myself. But, then again, those choices have been removed from us, haven’t they?”
“Asshole, fine, I’ll handle NAC and the Teams for a limited time, but you and I’ll be tracking Tobias down together,” Matthias stated. “I may not be able to harm the fucker, but I’ll be there when you take him out. I want him to pay for every sick and disgusting thing he did and has done to Christian and me while in his den of depravity. I’ll not sit idly by while you take this on by yourself.” Matthias turned to leave, and Declan stopped him.
“There’s more,” Declan interrupted. “Skylar,
the child I spoke of before, is with Alpha Team. You need to talk to her and tell her and the others of the powers she holds. We can’t have them going into any of this blind. The children will be the most affected, but the others will notice, and it could cause problems without proper explanation.”
“Whatever, set up a time and a place, and I’ll be there,” Matthias said. “But don’t expect me to coddle them like you do. They’ll listen and learn. I’ll not pussyfoot around issues and hope for the best as you have for so long. I’ll also not allow the challenge I am sure will come from Jackson. You best prepare all of them before that day, do you understand?”
“Yes, of course, but that’s not it. Skylar is Tobias’ daughter. Are you going to be able to withhold your judgment of the girl, or are you going to damn her because of the man who created her? I need to know this, Matthias. She is nothing like Tobias. She’s already placed herself in front of danger to protect Ryleigh and Quinn. I have no doubt she will continue to prove the legends correct and be the protector these children need. The problem you might have is that she remembers her time with Tobias fondly.”
“You might be surprised to learn that it doesn’t bother me in the least,” Matthias laughed again, this time a little less forced. “I’m glad the girl didn’t have to endure the torture and sadistic tactics Tobias often employs. I also have no will or want to try to persuade her otherwise. Let her have her memories. I’ve learned there is only so much good in this world, so why taint something that’s based on innocence?
“Set up the meetings. I’ll do them by teleconference, just as you’ve done. I see no need for physical contact. Until we have found and eliminated Tobias, you’ll need to continue to deal with Echo Team. I’m not ready to lay all my cards out on the table, just as you aren’t. That’s something we need to agree on before any of this goes further.”
