“Get them back for what?” I ask in a low tone, dreading the answer he’s about to give me.
“For killing my brother,” he says with so much anger in his eyes. The hand he has in my hair tightens, and I can’t help but let out a small whimper.
“Who’s your brother?” I ask not looking away from him.
“Demon.”
Chapter Sixteen
Aiden ‘Steal’
I spent the whole night driving up and down the streets to figure out where she could have gone.
I called her brothers and they have no idea; she never contacted them. Those were the people that I thought she would have ran to in a time like this.
I went down to the hospital so that I could talk to her friend Krista, but she looked scared and shook her head back and forth rapidly. I could tell she had no idea where her friend was. I could tell that the look on my face must have been a terrifying one by the way that Krista looked at me.
Krista had mentioned a doctor that she has lunch with whenever they work together, and that he didn’t come into work today and how no one knows where he is.
I have a terrible feeling in my gut that this has something to do with him.
She has to be with him.
I send out the information to my father and brothers of the club. I ask Tech to look into him.
All we have is the address that’s left on file at the hospital. There is literally nothing else on him.
The apartment that is under his name is vacant. We had checked it out and there is nothing there- no furniture, nothing. He’s paying rent, but he’s not even staying there.
Elliot Carrington.
Fuck, I doubt that’s his real name.
I’m sitting in the front room of the clubhouse with most of the brothers. We were trying to figure out where Olivia could have gone or who this guy really is.
Everyone was so focused on the fire yesterday that no one had seen where her car went.
We’re waiting on Tech to pull up any information about the doctor. I need to at least see a picture. At least then we will know who we are looking for.
Tech comes into the main room with a look on his face that has me jumping to my feet.
“What do you got?” I ask impatiently.
He holds up his hand and hands it to me. There are two pictures on it.
“One is from the kitchen camera at the diner right before the fire, and the other is from the hospital,” he says, and when I look down at the pictures I can’t help but yell out “Fuck.”
It’s the same fucking guy.
Crash comes walking in just as I yell. He was over at Olivia’s place seeing if there was something there that could help us find her.
“All I could find was her phone,” he said as he handed it to me.
I looked through it quickly and sure enough she has been messaging that doctor, but all of the messages seemed innocent.
She still kept this from me, fuck.
I hand the phone to Tech. “See if there is anything on there that will help us in any way.”
He nods his head and starts going through her phone. I don’t think I have ever seen his hands move so fast.
“Fuck.” He runs a hand over his face.
“What is it? You find anything?” I ask curiously.
He nods his head. “Yeah, she has some sort of program on here that spies on everything she does. I mean I have only heard about this shit and never seen it in person, but it’s some sort of spy for the phone. It looks like an ordinary app so she wouldn’t have thought to look at it or delete it.” He is showing me where the app is on her phone when a text from Elliot goes off.
Elliot: You will never find them.
“Fuck!” I yell out loud.
“I’m starting to think she didn’t send those messages or make those calls,” Torch mutters, and I narrow my eyes at him.
“No shit! It’s obvious that someone set her up. This dead asshole made sure she would run away- and helped her do it!” I yell.
No one even flinches at my outburst.
I look straight at my dad in question. “What the fuck did we do?” I say on a pained whisper.
When my eyes connect with his, I see a lot of regret and he shakes his head. “We’ll do whatever we can to find them.”
“Even if we do find them, there is no way that she will ever forgive me, or us. Why would she want to step foot in this club with the way I accused and yelled at her? I should have known better. I know her better than that!” I can’t help but yell out in frustration.
“Son, we all should have known better, but the evidence led us right to her. What were we supposed to think?” my dad asks as he puts a hand on my shoulder.
“I was supposed to know her better,” I say lowly as I head back outside to try and find my woman and son.
I won’t stop until I find them.
Chapter Seventeen
Olivia
After my encounter with Elliot, I run into the room to be with Hale. I couldn’t let him leave my sight.
Why did I leave my fucking phone?
I look out the window and walk over. There’s bars on the windows, and I look outside and see that my car is gone. Where the hell did he put it?
When I move my gaze around the yard, I remember that we are out in the middle of nowhere.
Right where he had planned us to be. Fuck.
I couldn’t stop shaking, but I didn’t want to do anything to alarm Hale. I couldn’t let him see the kind of danger we were really in.
I would take a punishment from the Vicious Snakes over Demon’s brother any day.
I spend the next hour pacing until Hale wakes up ad I try to give him a small smile so that he doesn’t see my fear.
“Morning, baby,” I say softly and climb into the bed beside him.
He does a little stretch and moves his nose in the air.
“Pancakes! I smell pancakes, mom!” he says excitedly.
I get up and follow him into the kitchen when he runs from the room.
When I make it to the kitchen, Elliot has a big smile on his face and, if I didn’t know any better, I would have thought it was genuine.
He tells Hale where to sit and gives him juice with pancakes. When he looks at me, he sees that I’m not moving from the doorway.
I watch him as he makes his way over to me and, when his face is out of Hale’s eyesight, he puts his hand up to grip the back of my neck and applies just enough pressure to let me know that I should listen to what he is about to say.
I look at him in the eyes which are narrowed at me while he speaks in a harsh whisper.
“You will listen to what I have to say, won’t you?” When I nod, I see him grin and he continues, “You are going to be good and not make a scene in front of the boy. All the windows and doors are locked and only I have the key. You could try to run, but no one will hear you and we are miles from town. Don’t do anything stupid, or I will take it out on not only you but Hale as well. Do you understand me?”
I give him a nod and release a shaky breath. I feel tears forming in my eyes, and I try to blink them back so that he doesn’t see how weak I am.
“Wipe your tears before he sees them. You are not going to mess up everything that I have worked hard for,” he hisses and releases me. When he steps back to the table, he plasters on a fake smile for Hale.
I turn my head and wipe my eyes before I turn back to Hale and plaster on a fake smile myself, pretending that our world isn’t falling apart and that we aren’t with a man determined to get revenge on the Vicious Snakes.
Aiden ‘Steal’
I swear that I have looked everywhere in this fucking town for them and anything I could find outside of it.
I know I have to be missing something.
I’ve been up for almost two days searching for them and, now that I know she was tricked into being taken, I need to find them.
I really fucking hope that nothing happens to them.
Brothers
are taking turns in shifts sleeping and looking out for her, but we still haven’t come up with anything.
We tried tracing the cell phone number back that Elliot messaged from, but the fucker got rid of the signal before we could do that.
As the hours went by, I tried not to lose hope that I would ever find them. We have contacted everyone that we could, and her brothers had even made their way down here and started searching as well.
We started searching other towns, and houses in between those towns, but we haven’t come across anything yet.
I’m lost in thought about my little family when I see someone sit beside me at the bar. I’m currently looking over everything we have on this guy, which isn’t much considering that he used a fake name.
I look up to see who is sitting beside me and I’m surprised to see Pyro.
He nods his head at me, and I grunt back at him and turn back to the papers I was looking at.
“We’re going to find them, brother,” he says in a low voice. Sounds like he’s talking to a caged animal.
“You don’t fucking know that,” I say on a growl. Fuck, maybe he is talking to a caged animal.
“We won’t stop until we do, brother. Then you can get your woman back,” he says looking at the wall across from us.
“And if we don’t, am I just going to be a miserable fuck like you?” I ask and immediately feel like an ass for saying it, but I’m so angry and scared that I don’t know what to do or say anymore.
He just huffs out a laugh. “You could never be a miserable fuck, brother. It’s not in you.”
I shake my head and give him laugh that has no humour in it. “You know, two years ago I could have said the same about you,” I tell him honestly.
I get up from the main room and walk into my room at the club. I sit on my bed, put my head in my hands, and let out a frustrated breath. I grip my hair into my hands to the point that it is painful, but nothing compares to the pain of not seeing my little family’s smiling faces right now.
Fuck. If I didn’t flip out on her, and looked at all the facts first, then she wouldn’t have taken off and into a trap!
I get up and start pacing my room. There has to be something that will lead me to them.
I grab the lamp on the side table and throw it at the wall out of anger.
“Fuck,” I yell just as my phone begins to ring.
Olivia
I barely got any sleep last night. When I went to bed, I noticed the door had locked from the outside and not the inside. I only slept when my body forced me to. I had to keep Hale safe and figure out a way out of here.
The sun was just coming up when I got out of bed and heard Elliot. If I knew that I could take him down then I would, or if I was even by myself; but I couldn’t risk him doing anything to Hale. I would never forgive myself if Hale was harmed because of my stupid actions.
I quietly walk out of the room and make sure not to wake Hale.
Elliot was just like the morning before. Standing in the kitchen making coffee. When I walked into the room, he acted like everything was normal; like he wasn’t holding my son and me against our wills.
“Elliot,” I say quietly.
“Morning Sweetheart. I hope you slept okay,” he says when I walk over to grab a drink. I needed to act as normal as possible, at least until I can think of what to do.
The sound of his voice and the sweet tone he uses with me makes me sick to my stomach. I swallow the bile that has risen in my throat.
“I slept as well as can be expected for someone who is being kept here and not allowed to leave,” I say quietly.
Before I could say anything else, he cages me in with his arms on either side of me on the counter. My back is to his front.
He hisses low in my ear and the feel of his breath on my neck makes me shiver in disgust.
“What was that, Sweetheart?” he asks lowly.
I swallow hard. “I said that I slept okay, considering,” I whisper back.
“Maybe you will sleep better if you’re in my bed tonight. Maybe you need your man to hold you tonight,” he whispers back, and then I feel his tongue lick my cheek.
I close my mouth and try to turn away. That must have been the wrong move because it seems to make him mad.
I feel one hand grip my hair. He pulls so hard that I swear I could feel pieces being ripped out of my scalp. I whimper and bite my lip hard to prevent myself from screaming out in pain.
“You’re going to love everything that I have planned for you tonight.” I feel him shift his body until he is pressed against me. The erection I feel digging into my behind has me trying to hold back a sob. “Fight me all you want; it makes it more fun for me,” he says, and then kisses me on the head like we are lovers, grabs his coffee, and walks over to the table to sit down. He looks over at me with a smirk on his face.
I turn my face away from him so that he can’t see the tears that have escaped.
I need to get the fuck out of here or, at the very least, I need to get Hale out of here.
I will do anything as long as Hale is safe.
It was now just after lunch. Elliot had made us lunch. I guess he doesn’t trust me around hot frying pans or knives. I’d say that’s his smartest move, but he has this all planned out so I’m not sure what his next move is.
“Hale, buddy, why don’t you go watch a movie while your mom and I clean up after lunch?” Elliot says, and I have to clench my teeth to keep from yelling that he doesn’t get to talk to my son.
Hale looks at me and I try to give him a reassuring smile and nod my head. There was a look in my innocent boy’s little eyes that revealed that he didn’t believe me, but he went anyways.
“Just let me make this call while you start the dishes, sweetheart,” he says in a loving tone.
All I can do is nod my head. He doesn’t move far. I can see him standing in the hallway door with his eyes on me.
Of course he wasn’t going to leave me alone. That would mean that I could have the chance to find something to get him with.
I can’t hear what he is saying on the phone since he is talking so quietly and, judging by the smirk on his face, I can tell that he knew I was trying to listen.
When he completes his call, I am trying my best not to pay attention to him. He places the phone on the table when he walks over to me to help me with the dishes.
Really, all he did was cage me in so that he could speak low enough that Hale wouldn’t hear, and he knew that I didn’t want to alert Hale to any danger.
I turn to look at him so that he can see the hate in my eyes when I see Hale grab the phone and run quietly down the hallway.
I try not to give it away that Hale took the phone, but I must not have hidden it very well how much danger we would be in if Hale was sneaking the phone. I just hope that Hale knew someone’s number by heart so that we could be saved.
“I’ll find a way to get us out of here,” I hiss at “Elliot.”
He gives me a laugh that sends chills all through me.
“There will be no leaving. Like I said before, you will not ruin everything that I have worked so hard for,” he says as he moves back only to turn me around and hit me across the face.
My head moves to the side. When I look back at him I have to swallow the fear of how evil he looks in this moment.
I could already feel my cheek throbbing in pain. I know already that it will leave a mark.
I don’t know what comes over me, but I push him away from me and start grabbing dishes and anything I can get my hands on from the counter and start throwing them at him.
I knew that Hale was in the room and calling someone. I had to take this chance to fight back.
A couple of items had hit him hard enough to break the skin, and he looks murderous after each item that I throw.
He is walking toward me, dodging everything that comes at him. He grabs my wrist hard enough that I gasp at the pain, and then he takes his other hand and punches me in the stomach h
ard enough that I lose my breath. I almost double over from the pain, but he grabs me again so fast that the next thing I know I am up against the counter with his hand at my throat.
I can feel the pressure increase against my neck and I move my hands around to feel for something to help me.
I grab the frying pan I hadn’t had a chance to wash yet and hit him over the head.
Immediately, he releases me and stumbles backwards. He clutches his head. I look around the counter frantically for the knife he had used making lunch and, when I spot it, I dive for it quickly.
He must have seen me because he darts for me as quickly as he can.
Just as I grab the knife, he pushes me to the ground and sends it flying away from me and under the table.
I kick as hard as I can and, when I hit him in the balls, I am able to get up and crawl toward the knife.
Just when I reach it in my hand, he pulls on my leg and drags me back.
I let him drag me back. At the last second, I flip over onto my back and I stab the first body part of his that I can reach.
It was only his shoulder, but it was enough to get him off me. I run to the room for Hale.
I had no idea what we were going to do.
When I reach the bedroom door, I hear the distinct noise of Harleys.
I don’t think that I have ever been as happy as I am right now hearing that sound.
I open the door and find Hale in the corner with tears streaming down his face.
I quickly pull him into my arms, and I can’t help but jump once the banging starts.
Chapter Eighteen
Aiden ‘Steal’
“Hello?” I pick up after I didn’t recognize the number.
“Daddy?” The sound of my sweet son’s voice had me alert.
“Hale? Where are you? Are you and your mom okay?” I ask frantically.
“Daddy, there is a bad man hurting mom,” he says quietly. He sounds like he is on the verge of crying.
I run out of my room with the phone to my ear to join everyone in the main hall with Tech and my dad.
