Punishing Petra [Locks and Chains 3] Page 14

“Can Petra tuck me in?” he asked, and while perversely pleased that Joel wanted her to put him to bed, she had no idea what she was actually supposed to do. After fumbling through drawers thankfully with Joel’s directions, she had him in pajamas and into bed in no time. Thinking that was all she was supposed to do, she said good night to him and was about to leave his room.

“No, Petra, don’t leave yet. You need to tell me a story. Or if you can’t think of one you could read me one, but I’ve already read them all.”

Crap, okay, she could do this. She was an author. How hard could a kid’s story be to make up? Okay, so she was an erotica author and her stories were not appropriate to tell a six-year-old little boy. Think, think. She could make up something.

“Once upon a time in a land far, far away, there was a princess. She was a very adventurous princess, and she didn’t like being kept in the castle all the time. So every day when she should have been doing her studies, she would climb the wall that surrounded the castle and go into the forest to find an adventure. One day after her father, the king, told her she had to marry the nasty, ugly son of the king of the neighboring land, she decided to run away. She packed a bag and scaled the wall, looking back at the castle for what she thought would be the last time. She then ran into the forest, and as it got dark she became frightened of all the creatures and shadows, so she looked for a place to wait until morning.

“She found a cave set into the cliff wall and thought it would make a good place to hide for the night. As she went deeper into the cave she felt the warmth of a fire. Deeper and deeper she went until it opened into a large cavern and there in the center was a fire with animal skins on the ground around it. She felt so tired and cold and no one seemed to be around, so she sat down on the rugs and warmed her hands in front of the fire.

“A loud roar echoed through the cave, and suddenly a large dragon was standing in front of her. She was so frightened that she couldn’t move as she watched the large dragon with sharp white teeth come closer to her. Just when she thought the dragon was going to eat her, the dragon sniffed the air and brought its head closer to her and took a deep breath, bringing her scent into his lungs. The princess thought that now he had smelled her, she was surely going to be eaten by the dragon. But instead the dragon shifted and shimmered and there instead of a dragon was a beautiful man. He told the princess that he had looked for a hundred years for her and that he couldn’t find her anywhere but now she had come to him. He swept her up into his arms, and they lived happily ever after.”

Take that, doubters who said an erotica author couldn’t create a PG story. Yeah, what she really wanted was the princess and the dragon to really get it on in shape-shifter heaven, but alas, not tonight. She looked down at Joel, who was already fast asleep, or he could be pretending so he didn’t have to listen to another one of her stories. Shrugging, she stood to walk out of the room but bent down to kiss his forehead first. He looked like an angel. Why on earth would this little boy who was so innocent have been destined to have the mother he had and then have no mother at all. He had a wonderful father, but still it didn’t seem fair. She walked quietly out of the room, shutting the door behind her.

As she walked back into the living room, both Kyle and Caleb were sitting on the couch watching a football game on TV.

“How was he?” Kyle asked from the couch, beer in hand.

“He fell asleep during my story.”

“He conned you into that did he?” he said, chuckling.

“Hey, I’m a writer. I love telling stories.” She moved and sat between them.

Kyle took another pull of his beer and tried to cool his blood. He’d accepted it after their weekend away, but tonight had confirmed it. He loved her. She was everything he’d ever dreamed of and more. She’d be a great mother, and Joel loved her. Was it his life’s dream to share a woman with Caleb or anyone? No! But he was willing to accept it in order to have her be a part of his family. He felt more whole than he’d ever felt in his life. He’d loved Kelly, and in a way he always would, but he could never relax with her and could never feel safe and contented like he could with Petra. He didn’t want to compare the two of them. It wouldn’t be fair to either. His time with Petra had once again shown him that he didn’t want to play the field, he never had really. He wasn’t a spring chicken, and he wanted to have a partner who would stand beside him. He didn’t have a single fear that Petra was hiding insanity. Yes, she wasn’t normal, she was unique and quirky, but she was the sanest person he’d ever met. She was strongly independent, but she still wanted him and made him feel needed without that need feeling like a burden.

He opened his free arm and gestured to her with his other hand for her to cuddle against him, and without a word she wriggled over. She felt so good in his arms, she fit just right. He turned back to the game although he had no idea what was going on he was so lost in his thoughts. Could he imagine being with anyone else? No. Did he want any other woman? No. Did she love Joel? Yes. Would she be a good mother? Yes. Could he imagine waking up to her every morning for the rest of his life? Yes. Could he be happy to have sex with just her for the rest of his life? Yes. Could he imagine his life without her in it? No. He was going to marry her and get her locked down before some other prick out there tried to steal her from him. He could spend every night just like tonight with her. He could have her in his bed each and every night. She snuggled closer to him, perhaps sensing he was thinking about her.

Did she love him? Would she say yes if he asked her to marry him? He was shocked to realize he couldn’t answer that. The gleam in her eyes told him she loved him, but maybe he was looking for what he wanted and wasn’t seeing the reality. He needed to know how she felt, but he also knew it might be too early for the words ‘I love you’. He put his beer down on the coffee table in front of him and twisted toward her. He pulled her against him, bringing her mouth higher until he met hers with his own and gave her a kiss that told her he loved her. At first she was shocked, and then she opened her mouth to let his tongue explore hers. He rubbed his hand over her back, pulling her closer still. Without rush or dominance he wanted to show her with his body that he loved her. He wanted to make love for the first time in forever. He wanted to make love with no kink and no play, just warmth. He slowly worked off her shirt, and groaned when he saw her lacy black bra, and he had to remind himself to take it slow. When she cupped him through his jeans, his cock was so hard he could use it as a jackhammer.

He pulled his mouth from hers, panting and in need of air. Her neck looked so delicious he had to taste it, so he lapped at her throat, kissing and loving it as he fumbled with her jeans. He’d completely forgotten Caleb was on the couch with them until he saw him pull Petra’s face toward his and claim a kiss. She pushed herself against his seeking hand, moaning, and the breast in front of his face looked too tempting, so he pulled the lace down to release her nipple and lapped at it before bringing it further into his mouth. He suckled on it as his fingers finally unbuttoned her jeans and his hand dipped inside and found her hot wet core. He groaned and thrust himself upward, needing the friction. He felt his cock jerk as pre-cum leaked from its tip. He pulled her matching lace panties aside so he could thrust his finger toward her pussy and became frustrated when her jeans limited his access. He needed to get inside her. He couldn’t wait to have that hot, wet silk covering his cock. Coming to his senses a little bit, he realized they were still in the living room. He needed more privacy, more room, and he needed those damn jeans out of his way.

“Let’s move into the bedroom,” he said, pushing at her and Caleb so he could get up from the couch, never letting go of her hand. He pulled her along behind him toward the bedroom. Caleb followed, and Kyle didn’t care, and as soon as they were all in the room he shut the door. He pulled Petra toward him and kissed her again very gently. He hooked his fingers in her jeans and pulled them down her legs only to find her shoes trapping them around her feet. She lifted one foot after t
he other until finally the dreaded jeans were in the corner of the room. He reminded himself to burn them later. He backed Petra toward the bed with kiss after kiss until the back of her legs hit the mattress. He watched her fall onto the bed clad only in her sexy-as-hell black lace bra and panties. Whoever designed them deserved an award.

  Chapter Nineteen

Caleb watched as the scene played out in front of him. This wasn’t their normal kind of session. This wasn’t dominance and submission. This was so much more. This was a declaration of love. As sappy as that sounded, this was just too real. He couldn’t, he wouldn’t deal with this. He stood looking down at the bed where Kyle had Petra naked and was kissing his way down her body, opening her legs further to worship her moist heat. She looked so beautiful, so sensual writhing on the bed under his friend’s gentle loving onslaught. He had promised himself in the beginning he would let Kyle have her. He promised himself again after the wicked weekend that he’d walk away, and he hadn’t. He couldn’t walk away from her. He felt connected to her in some way. He should leave. He should just walk away and leave her with Kyle and Joel. They needed her, they wanted her. No! he screamed inside his head. He didn’t want to walk away. He didn’t want to leave her to Kyle, but he also couldn’t let this continue. He couldn’t share her. He couldn’t do the ménage thing. If he ever got married and had a happy ever after, there were not two husbands in any version of the script he’d written for his life.

He could imagine Petra being his wife and could imagine her swollen with his child. He could imagine her waiting for him when he came home each evening from work. He could even imagine a little girl with Petra’s dark hair and small frame calling him Daddy. He could imagine a forever after with Petra, but he couldn’t and wouldn’t imagine one with Kyle as well. As a friend, yes, but not as his husband. His jealousy became a monster in its own right and wanted to roar a battle cry and rip the image of Kyle apart. The idea of coming home to her as his wife and finding her in Kyle’s arms was so unacceptable that he wanted to kill him. He wanted to break something.

He needed to get out of there. He took one last look at Petra and Kyle on the bed before he turned on quiet feet and walked out of the bedroom and out of the house. A blast of cold air hit him as he walked toward his car, and it all became clear to him. He wouldn’t drop out of the running for her. He would make his position clear and tell her he loved her and that he wanted her to choose between a life with Kyle and a life with him. He’d be sorry for Kyle when she chose him, because he knew his friend loved her as much as he did. A thread of doubt unraveled within him. What if she chooses Kyle? No! He would help Kyle move on and find another woman because he knew there’d never be another woman like Petra for him.

Petra watched from the corner of her eye as Caleb left the room. She’d seen the expression on his face just before he left. Caleb was lost and troubled. As much as she wanted to help and comfort him, she needed this also. She needed to be loved plainly and simply. Whilst not being the lust-inspired taking that she loved so much, this was like a warm hug when you’re cold and alone. Before Kyle could latch his mouth onto her swollen pussy, she pulled at his shoulder, dragging him back up her body. The loss of Caleb had made her feel insecure, and she needed to be covered by his body and be reassured. She needed it even more than she needed an orgasm from his talented mouth. Pulling at his T-shirt, she dragged it over his head and gorged herself on his skin, licking and kissing him, tasting his salty flesh. His masculine scent flooded her senses, and she moaned as he kissed her again, pulling him tighter against her body, clawing at his back, needing him to fill her deep inside. She moved to the opening of his jeans, and she pulled and unzipped until she felt his briefs against the back of her hand. She brought her feet up, using gymnastic skills she didn’t have to pull his jeans down his legs, and when they stuck at his knees she used one foot to push them down between his legs until one leg was freed, and he kicked them off. She grabbed his cock and shifted until she was once again underneath him, her legs wrapped around his and her heels resting on his upper thighs. She positioned his cock at her entrance and looked deeply into his eyes. Feelings so deep they couldn’t be contained flooded her, and not being able to stop herself, she whispered, “I love you.” He smiled and thrust deep inside her.

“I love you, too, baby.” He moaned.

He kissed her again with a kiss of such sweet, tender, heartfelt feeling that she felt her heart soar with her love for him. Slowly he thrust in and out of her. They drank at each other’s mouths. They made love, never having less than half their body in contact with each other. As she drifted off wrapped in his arms, her last thoughts before sleep overtook her were firstly she’d love to have a shower and clean up but she knew that Kyle loved her messy. The second and most important was where was Caleb and why had he left? She wished she was psychic so she could reach through space and connect to him, speak to him, and comfort him. Then the darkness claimed her.

Before he opened his eyes, he let the memories of last night play through his mind. She’d told him she loved him. They had made love and held each other throughout the night. He could hear the shower running and chuckled to himself. He’d never had the perversion of wanting Petra covered and dripping in his cum before. Hell, he was the first one to call clean up after sex in the past. But with Petra he got a perverse pleasure from her smelling of him and stained by him. He knew she didn’t love it, maybe didn’t even enjoy it, and soon she would get her back up and stop allowing it, but until then he would enjoy it. The door to the bathroom opened.

“Did I wake you? I’m sorry.”

He watched as she walked over toward the bed, her hair wrapped in a towel twisted on top of her head, her body still dripping. The towel that was wrapped around her body was hanging on by a thread, one he wanted to cut.

  “Good morning, my love.”

“My love, I think I could get used to that.”

And he could get used to saying it. She crawled up on the bed, her knee getting caught in the towel and pulling it off her body. A naked Petra in the morning was just what the doctor ordered. He grabbed her and pulled her toward him, taking her mouth as he wanted to take her body. As his hand slid down her back, the bedroom door opened, and Petra squealed, grabbing the sheet and pulling it against her.

  “Morning, Dad.”

Joel hollered as he ran and jumped up onto the bed. Petra looked at Joel and then at him. He could see fear in her eyes. Of all the times she’d been in the house, never had Joel seen her naked and, well, in the middle of business with him.

“Good morning, kiddo. How did you sleep?” he asked as Petra grabbed her towel and tried to wrap it around herself under the sheet she had covering her. She wasn’t doing such a great job of it though because one breast was fully exposed, but he wasn’t a stupid man so no way was he going to tell her.

“Really good, I dreamed about the dragon and the princess,” Joel said, clambering up even further to snuggle next to him.

“Really?” He looked at Petra to see if she had an explanation. He couldn’t remember a book in Joel’s room with a dragon in it, and the computer games changed so quickly he couldn’t remember if one had a dragon in it either.

“The story I told him last night,” Petra said, still struggling with the sheet and the towel.

He’d have to get her to tell him the story later. He hadn’t told her yet, but he’d read every one of her books, most of them before he even knew her. After she’d told him her pen name, he’d ordered every book online that he’d missed. Reading them during his breaks and any free moment he got in his busy schedule, he realized that she had a real gift with words. One he thought she could use for more mainstream works. She was great at erotica, but he hoped to be able to tell her she should have a try at a more popular genre. Though, maybe he would be overstepping by interfering in her work. He had missed the conversation between Petra and Joel, only catching the tail end.

“Sorry, buddy, I need to get going. I h
ave a very busy day today, and you have school, so maybe on the weekend. Okay?”

“Okay. I’m gonna get dressed for school. See ya.”

Joel leaned over and kissed Petra on the cheek and then blushed as he ran out the door. If he didn’t know better, he would say his son was in love. He couldn’t blame him. “Do you have to go?” he asked as he watched her slide out of bed and begin dressing.

“I want to go and see Caleb before he starts his shift.”

Damn, he’d completely forgotten about Caleb. He barely noticed him leaving last night but hadn’t thought much of it. He wondered why he’d left. Maybe it was just to give them some alone time. Caleb was broody and dark sometimes, but he also never did anything without a purpose. Part of him hoped Caleb had left them alone for good and he’d have Petra for himself. Not that he really had an issue with sharing her with Caleb. Being the voyeur at heart that he was, it made life that much more interesting.

“Will I see you tonight?” he asked, wanting to sound confident and in charge. Unfortunately it came out whinny and needy. Fuck!

“Of course, if you’re okay with it.”

“Petra, you have an open invitation to this house. Actually I’ll give you a key before you go,” he said, jumping out of bed and grabbing his PJ bottoms.

“Can I ask you a favor?” she asked.

“Anything,” he replied. She seemed worried.

“Could you please give me Caleb’s home address? I don’t actually have it.”

Shit, after all the time they’d spent together she had no idea where Caleb lived. Damn, had Caleb shared anything of himself at all with her? “Not a problem.” After handing her the key and Caleb’s address and giving her a quick good-bye kiss, she was driving away. He called out to Joel to hurry up so he could drop him off at school. He then thought about Caleb and Petra. He had a bad feeling that this wasn’t going to be good. He should allow them some alone time, but he felt in his bones that Petra was going to need him, so he rushed toward his room determined to shower and dress in record time. He would drop Joel off at school and then make the decision about whether to go to Caleb’s or not, but he wanted to be ready.
