"Reed, right there! Don't stop!" Evony cried out. She leaned forward, closer to Reed and held onto him at his shoulders as he continued to mercilessly slam into her sex repeatedly. Her orgasm was building and she mentally hoped Reed not to stop or slow his pace down. Evony reached down between them and began nudging her clit. It was just enough to send her over the edge and scream out in ecstasy. She hadn't even realized her eyes were closed until she saw the stars dancing behind her eyelids.
Reed saw hell he felt her pleasure crashing, but he was nowhere near ready to finish, so he kept the pace to get there himself. But before long her pussy began swallowing up for more while he pistoned for more. Tighter her legs clamped around him, and deeper inside he went in. Evony was building up to another orgasm and Reed was determined to come with her. Just before they both crashed, Reed found his mark on her neck, and bit down as he ejaculated in her warm tunnel.
Evony's greedy body wanted it all in her almost demanded that all of his seed was swimming in her uterus.
The only sounds that could be heard were the rushing water from the shower and their heavy breathing. When Reed finally caught his breath, he reached behind him and cut off the faucet. He stepped out of his jeans, which were still around his ankles, and ripped his shirt from his chest. He didn't dare slip from out of his lovely mate, even though she was too weak with lust to move, so he carried her to their bed and laid her down coming on top of her.
"Will it always be this way with us?" She asked sleepily. Reed's cock twitched inside at the sound of her voice, but he could see that she wasn't ready to handle another round. He flipped her on the bed so that her body was laying mostly on him and his chest was now her pillow.
"Always my love." Before she could fall asleep, he whispered that he loved her and placed a kiss on her forehead.
The corner of Evony's lips turned up for just a second and she whispered out "always."
Chapter 18
There was a nice routine that formed for Evony in the coming weeks after joining the pack. All ties to Silver Fang were cut the moment she joined Blood Moon, and she knew her father felt the connection sever.
Reed gave her the option of continuing to let Garrett work on much of her duties while she continued her schooling. Evony felt blessed to be mated to a wolf that knew her priority was her education and pushed her to continue on with it, instead of insisting the needs of the pack took priority. It's what she would have experienced if she had followed through with her father's plan and remained with Alex.
"Well how about, Garrett chooses someone to be my assistant and he trains her. That way he can keep up with his duties as Beta, I can handle anything that's confidential, and my assistant can keep me abreast of everything else. I'll just review everything on the weekend or the days that I don't have classes." Evony had suggested one morning when the three of them met up for breakfast. It didn't take long for Garrett to suggest his mate, Angela as Evony's assistant. Once the two women met, Evony agreed that Angela was perfect.
Once her heat had dissipated, Evony was able to think clearly and realized that there was no need to even keep the dorm room. Three and a half days of sex and very little sleep seemed to clarify so much for Evony. So eager to have his mate and wife with him completely, Reed wasted no time and had the rest of her things that she left in the dorm, packed up and moved by the end of one of Evony's classes.
"Gahhhh, I need a break!" Currently, Evony was in her office even though it was the weekend, going over the binder of Blood Moon members. Reed knew every single member of his insanely huge pack and Evony was determined to retain the same amount of info.
She admired his work ethic and realized that the stories of the ruthless leader were just that, stories. In the short amount of time that she'd been with Blood Moon, she noticed that not only did he know his pack, but he took time out everyday to spend time with some of the weaker members. He tried to develop their confidence and even if he couldn't do it personally, he had encouraged other leaders within the pack to do the same. She was in awe of everything that he had accomplished by himself and couldn't wait to see what mountains they'd move together.
"There's always training," Angela suggested from the table. Reed had kept his promise that Evony could decorate her office at necessary and added a conference table and chairs so that Angela had a place to work. There was also a black leather couch along the wall that was a favorite spot for a certain someone. And art! Evony fell in love with one of the pack member's artwork and insisted on purchasing some of her pieces for her office and their bedroom. Roxanne, the artist, had wanted to give her the pieces, but Evony wouldn't have it and finally they were able to come to a compromise on price.
Looking at the first painting she purchased from Roxanne, a lovely mixed media of oils and metals of cherry blossoms and butterflies, Evony wanted nothing to do with training. While she was ahead of training thanks to the extra time she had with her father, she wasn't in the mood for something physical. Her eyes felt like they were burning from staring and memorizing member profiles. It wasn't even noon yet, and she already felt like her brain was fried.
"No, I have a better idea," Evony stood up and stretched like a lean feline and walked over to the couch. She bent over and swept back the long honey blonde hair from the sleeping girl's face. "Arielle, sweetie. Do you want to come to the theatre room with me?" Arielle had taken Evony up on her offer to find her whenever she was on the grounds. The only time she couldn't be found with Evony was when she was at school or with her dad. She was only five, but she was definitely small for her age. Arielle worked it to her advantage though because when she woke up from her nap from the couch, she let Evony scoop her up and lead her out of the office.
"Ang, you can just leave the report of the females that are pregnant on my desk. I'll visit with them later on today. Come join us." Angela left the file where Evony told her to, and followed her alpha to the movie room. Usually the theatre was under constant supervision of the teens, but with it being a gorgeous day out, the theatre room was empty.
Angela started the microwave popcorn while Evony pulled the live action movie version of The Jungle Book. The movie had been underway for only forty-five minutes when Garrett snuck into the dark room and sat down in the same chair as Angela, lifting her up into his lap.
"What are we watching?" He whispered into Angela's ear and then stuffed some popcorn into his mouth. Neither of the girls needed to answer him since the next song alerted him what movie it was. Not they would have answered, all three girls were engrossed in the movie to begin with.
"Oh I forgot. Ev, Reed wanted to take you out tonight."
"Why didn't he just mind-link me?" Evony asked, but Garrett shrugged and continued to hold onto Angela as he focused on the movie as well.
Evony tried concentrating on the movie but her thoughts kept getting pulled to watch Arielle as she sang and danced to all of the songs from the movie. When it was finally over, Evony said bye to Angela and Garrett so that she could walk Arielle to the house that her father bought on pack territory.
"How about next week, we play with some of your friends, Arielle?" Evony held Arielle's tiny hand in hers as they walked down the path.
"I don't have any," the little girl's words were almost hard to hear.
"No? We'll just have to change that. Let's throw a party next Friday night with all of the kids in your class. That way they can get to know you outside of school. And after the party we kick the boys out and have a sleepover with just you, the girls, and me? How does that sound?" Evony smiled as she looked at the way Arielle's face began to radiate happiness at the prospect of the party.
"When you come see me tomorrow, I want you to tell me what kind of party you want to have, and I'll take care of the rest, okay?" Arielle nodded and ran the rest of the short way to her house. David, her father was already waiting for her at the door. Evony waved to the both of them before they disappeared behind the door.
"You mind telling me about this da
te we're apparently going on?" She finally asked Reed on her way back to the pack house. Evony greeted and smiled at some of the members while walking. When she finally made it back to the pack house, the theatre room was packed with teens who reclaimed the room once her little group was done with it.
"I can't take my mate out to dinner? We've never had a date before, I want one, tonight." Evony felt her face heat up as it usually did when he called her his mate. She was also somewhat perplexed when he pointed out that they really never left the pack together. She could hardly count him crashing her car shopping or late night visits to her dorm as dates. Evony bit the bottom of her lip in order to try to contain her smile, but if anyone figured out what she was trying to do, they'd say she failed.
In the confinement of their bedroom, Evony practically ran to the bathroom and stripped out of her clothes so that she could get in the bath all the sooner. She started the water and dropped in a few drops of orange oil in the filling tub. She figured the citrusy scent would compliment her natural cinnamon scent that Reed was so in love with smelling. With her long hair in a messy bun, Evony got into the tub and soaked her body. Ever since her first heat, Evony and Reed would have sex every night. Thankfully, other than the first time, they remembered to use a condom each time.
Evony couldn't imagine herself pregnant; at least before Reed came along, she never would have imagined it for herself anytime soon. If they ended up pregnant after all, it would be her fault, since she practically told Reed to forget the condom that first time. Evony just wasn't prepared for how much she actually wanted – no needed Reed at that moment. Even just thinking about when her heat came on that first day gave her chills. Reed wouldn't be mad if she was pregnant, neither would she for that matter. More, just scared for what it could mean for the future of her education.
'Stop thinking like that. Other women have children and families while going to school, and most of them aren't even wolves. You got this,' her wolf gave her a much needed pep talk. Evony knew she was right. Her five-month pregnancy would go a lot faster than a human's nine months. And she knew there were plenty of women in the pack that would watch her child while she had class. She could even look into online courses and never leave her sweet baby.
"Ahh," Evony screamed out loud. She was getting ahead of herself, and was already planning her spring semester around a baby that hadn't even been confirmed yet.
When she was thoroughly relaxed, Evony drained and cleaned the tub and wrapped herself in a towel. Already knowing which dress she was picking out for the occasion, Evony quickly did her makeup, leaving her face mostly understated with light foundation and a nude lipstick. However, she wanted the focus on her eyes and did a smoky eye using navy powder.
Evony brushed her wavy tresses into a simple chignon and pulled some loose strands to frame her face.
In the closet space that was designated for her clothes, Evony choose her favorite navy lace and tulle high/low dress that she bought just before leaving for Harvard. The bodice was all lace including the long sleeves, but the skirt of the dress was tulle with gilded sequins. To Evony, it looked like she was wearing the starry night. Paired with some silver open-toe heels, she was ready to for a night on the town, with Reed.
By the time she was done choosing her jewelry, Reed walked into the bedroom already showered and dressed for their date. However, when he saw Evony, standing by the vanity placing the final touches on her earrings.
"How do I look?" She asked when Reed stilled from the sight from her. Evony knew that he was in awe of her, especially that his mark on her was unconcealed. Since he still had not moved nor answered her, Evony walked over to him as he remained by the door. The first sign of life that he exhibited was when he wrapped her waist in his arms and drew her closer to him. Reed bent down to kiss her on her mark, but Evony quickly pulled away.
"If I let you do that, we'll never leave this room," she chuckled and patted the lapel of his dark gray suit jacket. When she reached the actual door, the stupor finally lifted from Reed and he pulled her back to him so that her back was to his front. Reed bent down and let his tongue lift her earlobe to his lips.
"I love you, you know that? It's been what, a month? And just your presence in my life has made an impact in the way I live and lead our pack. You're my strength and my everything. I love you." Reed's voice choked up with each word and Evony couldn't help but hold back tears at the emotion in his words.
It didn't matter to her that they've known each other for less than a month, she'd known her father all her life and he tried to betray her. Evony turned around in Reed's arm, stood on her toes and pressed her lips to Reed's. He immediately gave her the entrance her tongue needed and their lips were in sync as he pushed her into the wall. It was only when they needed air that they were no longer interlocked.
"We should go," Reed's low voice sent the shivers throughout her entire being. Breathless, Evony nodded in agreement, yet neither of them moved away from each other.
"I love you too Reed." Before Evony could move away from him, he placed a kiss on the mark he made several weeks ago before placing a kiss on her forehead.
They were made for each other.
In the car, they spent the first five minutes of the drive talking about the pack before Reed put a stop to it. He had set aside time that night for them, not the pack. The remainder of the car ride was spent joking and singing along to the radio.
"We should have more times like this. Even if it's not a date night, just more times where we're both not consumed with work, pack, or school. You know?" Reed asked. He was holding onto Evony's left hand as he drove his Dodge Charger down the streets of downtown Boston.
"You mean you don't like the time we spend together, together?" Evony's teasing smile reached her sparkling eyes. "And before you say anything, yes I agree. I love hearing you laugh." Reed couldn't get over just how blessed he was that the Moon Goddess had saw fit to gift Evony to him.
He knew he stories and rumors that other packs and rogues said about him. Hell, some of them he started as a diversion as to how he really ran his operation. While other packs feared the destruction that he left in his wake, his members and rogues he took under his wing appreciated the order that he restore when he took over their packs. Sure, some of the takeovers were hostile, not every alpha wants to admit that they were running their packs to the ground.
Acknowledging his blessings in Evony, Reed raised her hand to his lips and pressed another kiss to the crown of her knuckles.
When they finally pulled up to the restaurant, Mistral, the valets opened the door for Evony and handed Reed the ticket for his car.
With their arms linked together, they entered into the restaurant.
"Good evening and welcome to Mistral. Do you have a reservation?" The hostess asked looking between Evony and Reed. As soon as he gave her their names, she quickly found their reservation and picked up two menus. "Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, please follow me."
They reached the table, and ever the perfect gentleman, Reed held his hand out to help Evony into the booth before he got in on the other side of her. When he made the reservation, he requested a booth that faced the front of the restaurant. That way he could sit next to Evony, speak to hear without yelling across the table, and still be able to be aware of his surroundings.
"You're waitress Amanda will be with you shortly." The hostess placed the menus on the table and walked away.
"You know, I think that was the first time we've been out in public, and the female staff didn't attempt to seduce you away from me."
Reed's smile was wide as he recalled the lady at the car dealership that Evony bought her Jeep from. "The night's still young," Reed promised but he didn't care what any female thought of him, except for Evony.
Side by side, king and queen conversed amongst themselves with smile and love shining through their interactions with each other. Their waitress didn't keep them waiting long before taking their appetizer and wine order with the promise to re
turn for their dinner selections. Though Reed only had eyes for Evony, he remained perceptive to everything happening around them.
That's why, shortly after Amanda placed their dinner plates of grilled tenderloin for Evony, and the peppercorn crusted prime sirloin for him, he hissed when his attention was brought to the door of the restaurant.
Evony's relaxed posture immediately went on alert when she heard Reed hiss. Just moments later she smelled what he smelled. Werewolf.
She looked to the front of the beautiful restaurant and saw two wolves, one of which, who she cared to never see again.
Chapter 19
Evony watched as the two wolves caught her and Reed's scent and saw the moment Vanessa's eyes caught hers. Vanessa's eyes widened as she grasped her brother's arm into a death grip.
"What are they doing here?" Evony asked as Alex smirked at their presence and began making his way to their booth, dragging a reluctant Vanessa with him.
"Look dear sister, it's my fiancé. How are you sweet Evony?" Alex tried to enter the booth and place a kiss on her cheek, but the not so subtle growl from Reed held him back. It didn't even matter to Alex that Evony had leaned as a far away from him as possible to avoid the kiss. However, when he drew back from Evony in fear of what Reed would do if he didn't, he noticed the mark that was on her shoulder.
"You're marked?" He yelled at her. "You let this asshole mark you?" Alex was shaking, and if Evony didn't know any better, he looked to be in danger of shifting. Vanessa drew him back out of the booth, and it wasn't until she touched him that he remembered that he was in a very public place. A very human public place.
"Of course I'm marked. Alpha Reed is my true mate." Vanessa looked genuinely happy to hear the news that Evony found her mate. "What are you doing here Alex?"
Vanessa looked to her brother to speak first, but when he didn't, she looked scared to answer for him. Evony narrowed her eyes at Vanessa's behavior, she was a talker. Even when they were forced to hangout, before they formed an actual friendship, Vanessa was always the talker of the two.
