Eden leaned back against the pillow and heaved a sigh. Let it go, she thought. You are the lucky one. In the end, Flynn was doomed to be a stranger in the world, forever adrift. Was there anything more difficult to overcome than a void in the heart? It was an invisible burden, crushing, and always with you. There was no escaping it.
Count your blessings, she thought. Get well, and go on home.
