‘Hey Cassie.’
Before he could take it back, he had pressed the ‘Send’ button. Now that he opened up the door they closed a few months back, a surge of excitement filled him. He had drowned out the muffled voices of the people around him, and in the moment, his fingers flew over the screen of his phone.
‘I miss you.’
He looked at the message, feeling like his eyes were about to fall out of their sockets for staring too long and hard. He wanted to send it, but at the same time, he felt more scared than ever.
