"You smell so good tonight," she commented as she took another breath. They were still at the party but stood by a quiet corner where not much people could see them. Darkness had fallen on the dance floor, dimming the room as people swayed to the slow song. She wanted him to dance with her, waiting for Max to ask if she wanted to sway like what the others were doing.
"Don't you want to dance?" she asked finally, seeming desperate.
"I don't dance," he told her curtly. "I think you've had too much wine already, Nicole. We should go and put you to bed."
"But I don't want to go just yet!" she pouted. "I'm supposed to be your date, and you haven't even asked me to dance with you. So, I don't think we should leave unless I get my dance."
She was talking nonsense, and both of them knew it. Nicole knew she would regret this tomorrow morning. Everything she had said might be held against her come by sunlight. But what seemed important to her right now was her dance. Or was it the possibility of getting close to him physically?
Max sighed and pulled her tightly to him as if it pained him to do so. She was about to back out at the last minute when he closed his hands around her hips. They began to sway to the music, his eyes never leaving hers. She blushed.
Nicole closed her eyes, sighing herself. He felt fantastic. The gentle rhythm of their bodies swaying gave her the leverage to have him near her. This what she had dreamt of, to be held captive in his embrace. She was so lost in the moment that when she looked up, he was staring directly at her.
She lost her mind further and stood on her toes. She reached up and kissed him straight on the mouth, feeling him stiffen. When he didn't make a move to stop her, she began to deepen the kiss. Nicole parted her lips and closed it around his, her tongue seeking entrance through the barrier of his mouth.
Max groaned and gave into the hot lust driving into his bloodstream. Giving Nicole what she exactly wanted.
Chapter Six
He was losing his mind. With every second that she spent in his arms, their mouths attached to each other had him going crazy. Nicole had gone boneless. Little sounds started to slip out of her mouth; her nipples had beaded into little buds.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, people could surely notice that something unusual was happening. He ought to gain back his self-control and put a stop to this madness. The guests would surely think they were a couple. But having her soft and compliant against him made it hard for Max to break away. Instead, he reveled in her.
"We can't keep doing this here," she said at some point looking dazzled. Wild passion had darkened her blue eyes, making them lighter than usual tonight.
"Would you like to go somewhere else?" he asked, giving her the freedom to choose.
They stared at each other, knowing fully well that once she agreed to come with him, that there would be no turning back anymore. She nodded her head without hesitation, curling her fingers around his. They didn't speak as they said their goodbyes and walked outside. The night was still young with the stars twinkling above the dark sky. The sound of the car doors slamming rang throughout the empty parking lot.
They drove to his penthouse where Max followed her in. Nicole was looking around his room as if it was the first time that she had seen it. He figured that she had had the chance to look around the house while she looked after Daisy. It was a good thing that his daughter was staying at his parents' house for a couple of nights. He had wanted to speak to Nicole without any interruptions.
But that could always wait later. For now, he wanted to enjoy this time with Nicole. Even if it was stolen. He just hoped that neither one of them would regret this tomorrow morning.
Max stood up and placed his hands on her hips. She leaned against his chest, feeling the small of her butt against his cock. She began to grind against him, his dick reacting from the feel of a soft, warm woman. He turned her around, catching the gasp as he probed her mouth with his. They began to kiss. The gesture hot and sweet, their tongues clashing and sliding against each other.
At some point, they lost their clothing. They moved to his bed, falling on the center with their limbs tangling. Naked flesh slid against naked flesh. Breathless pants came from her while Max fought back the loud groan when she slid her hand down, touching his engorged penis. Bringing him to buckle against her.
"Fuck," he cursed before opening her legs up, bringing himself in between. He felt his cock slide between the lips of her vagina, her moisture spreading along the length of his erection. He badly wanted to thrust into her wetness but knew she needed more stimulation before she could enjoy this. He wanted her to enjoy this as much he does.
He began to kiss her again before sliding downwards. He kissed her neck, paying closer attention to the spots that made her writhe beneath him. Her nipples stood out in the air, pebbled and hard as he licked around the edges. She screamed, her voice surrounding the walls. But he didn't care. There was no one here tonight but themselves. For all he cared, she could scream the whole penthouse down, and he would still be infatuated with her.
He closed his mouth around her breasts, sucking and lavishing the sensitive nipple. Once he was sure that she was writhing with need, he let them go before kissing down her belly. Max could feel her legs shaking as he spread them apart, leaving her wide and open for him.
"You're perfect," he whispered before bending down his head for a taste.
"Max!" she squealed, her hips lifting up from the bed.
"Right here sweetheart," he responded before continuing to lavish her. Max didn't stop until she was crying out his name, her fingers curled tightly around the strands of his hair. She had her legs up on his shoulder, completely bare and vulnerable for him.
When she cried out for the last time, Max immediately grabbed a condom from his drawer and slid it on. It had been months since he had sex, so he was careful not to touch his balls. The last thing he wanted was to bust out a nut before he could even enter her.
"You ready for this?" he asked, placing both of his arms on either side of her head.
Nicole answered by wrapping her legs around his tapered waist. She smiled up at him in encouragement, as he started to penetrate her. She was so fucking tight. As if she hadn't been touched for years. The thought of anyone touching her had him losing his mind. He tried to focus his attention on giving her pleasure, hearing her cry out quietly. Max stopped in his tracks.
"Did I hurt you?" he asked, staring down at her face as beads of sweat trickled down his forehead.
She shook her head, eyes tight shut. "I'm okay. Don't stop now, Max. Just keep going, please."
He wanted to pull out of her and stop. But what held him back from doing so was the determination on her face. So he kept going as he was instructed until he was fully sheathed inside of her. If he didn't know any better, he would think she was a virgin.
"Finally," she whispered. "I'm a virgin no more."
He stiffened as her words hit him. Was she a virgin?
"What did you say?" he asked, shocked. "Did you just say you were a virgin?"
She opened her eyes, tears welling up in them. "I was. But not anymore."
"And you're just telling me this now?" he growled.
A look of panic crossed her face. "It doesn't matter now, does it, Max?"
"The fuck it does!" he groaned before he started to pull out of her. Nicole made it hard for him to break apart from her with her legs wrapped around him. "Let me go, Nicole."
"No, please, Max. Don't do this now," she pleaded with him.
"You should have mentioned that you were a damn virgin!" he growled, unable to hold back his temper.
She didn't reply. He saw two streams of tears rolling down her face that it almost broke his head. Sighing, he pressed his forehead against hers. "Fuck, don't cry, Nicole. You know I hate it when I see you crying."
"Don't stop now, please." She begged, and that was all that Max could do before he began to thrust. He took them both to ecstasy, her cries mingling with his.
"Fuck, hold onto me, baby. I'm about to bring you to with me." He planted his knees on the bed before lifting her up. Hands on her hips, Nicole began to ride him. She felt fantastic with her head thrown back. Her legs wide open for his thrusts, her breasts jot out for him to lavish.
Before he knew it, she was coming. She came with a startled cry before he followed her after. They fell on the bed, breathing loudly as their sweat mingled. He closed his eyes, pressing his mouth on the top slope of her breast.
•••
Nicole woke up to the feeling of being sore. She moved, feeling her muscles protesting after spending a night of passion with Max. The house was silent when she looked around, the space beside her empty and cold. The feeling of hollowness gripped her, realizing that Max had left her without even saying goodbye first. She wasn't a fool to think that this would change their relationship. She just wished that he had woken her up, and said goodbye. Rather than leaving without her knowing.
She laid on his bed for a couple of more minutes before she finally got up. Thinking whether to take her shower at his house or at hers, Nicole gave in and headed to the bathroom. She took a long, hot bath that soothed the ache in her muscles. She tried not to think about what happened, but it seemed as if morning regrets was starting to get to her.
She had, to be honest though. She didn't regret what happened between them last night. She had chosen to give up her innocence to him because she couldn't find anyone better to lose it to. At least she meant to him even if she didn't mean anything to him other than being his best friend's sister.
After her bath, she rose from the tub and looked through his closet. She found a pair of old sweatpants and a shirt that was big enough to cover her knees. Just before she left his penthouse, she changed the sheets and put them in his laundry. Casting a glance behind her, she left with a heavy heart and made her way home.
A few days passed by and she waited for his phone call. But nothing came. She was starting to realize that she had been nothing but a one-night stand with Max. Heartsick and angry at herself for being so attached, she decided to visit her family instead.
It had been a few weeks since she had last her parents since. So when she drove to her old house, her dad was surprised to find her on the porch. "I didn't expect you to come, darling. Come on in. Your mother would surely be happy to see you."
She walked in and saw her mother sitting on the couch. The TV was on, and a few familiar faces showed through the screen. Her mother's face lit up when she saw her.
"Hey, mom." Nicole greeted before kissing her on both cheeks.
Her mother eyed her warily. "It's been a while since you came for a visit. Did you know your brother came home?"
"Yeah." She nodded. "He came over last week to see me but left so soon. We didn't even get to catch up."
"He did the same thing with us. He only stayed for one night before he said he had to go. I guess army's keeping him busy." His mother said absently.
"Is he planning on coming back, mom?" she asked, hoping that the answer was no.
Sadly, her mother nodded. "I think so."
"Why don't you talk him out of it, mom? Michael's in his thirties already. He ought to marry and settle down."
Her dad chimed in and sat down beside her mother. "I tried to tell the same thing to him, but I don't think he's ready to settle down yet."
"Why would he even want to continue that lifestyle?" she grouched. "We barely see him. And he did talk about marrying and settling down in the past. I don't know if he still wants to do that."
"Well, we can just hope." Her parents said in unison.
Nicole decided to settle for the time being at her parents’ house before she went. There were times when she missed how good it had been when she was just a child. Oh, how innocent she had been before.
Talking about innocence had her thinking about last night. She had lost her virginity to the man she was in love with. As much as she didn't regret it, Nicole had hoped that he would at least, show affection toward her. Even if it was just once in a while, it didn't have to be about love all the time.
Her phone began to ring in the middle of her mom cooking. She pulled out her phone and saw the name on the screen. It was Max. Her heart began to pound as she answered.
"Max?" she said.
"Nicole?" he said urgently. "Can you come over right now? It's Daisy."
Chapter Seven
Nicole rushed into the penthouse and found Max in Daisy's room. She laid in her crib with a wet cloth on her forehead, giving her the idea that the child wasn't well. She headed over to their direction, throwing her bag on the floor.
Max looked up and met her gaze. "You came," he said as if surprised to find her.
"Why would I not come?" she asked in confusion.
He opened his mouth and closed it again. "Nothing."
"How is she doing?" Nicole checked the baby's temperature and found her incredibly hot.
"She's a little better. I forced some meds into her system since she didn't want to take any of it. I lost a bit of my temper, and she started crying." Max looked so sad and worried that it broke her heart. She could tell that he really loved his daughter. If that wasn't what she could call affection for his child, then she didn't know what.
"Did you take her to the doctors already?" she asked, sitting beside him.
Max nodded. "He came here a little while ago and said that it was just a fever. He's not exactly sure from where she possibly got it from. But he's taking a wild guess that she was exposed to a different climate."
"What do you mean?" she asked. "She was only at your parents' house."
"It tends to be cold there, and she's used to the warm temperature."
"And that caused her to get a fever suddenly?" Nicole questioned.
He shrugged. "I don't know exactly, but I hope so."
She gave him a smile that she hoped reassured him. Patting his hand, she said, "don't worry too much. She seems to be in a better mood than she was before."
"I don't know what I would do if this gets worst." This was the first time she had seen him so vulnerable. He looked genuinely worried about Daisy. "This is the first time I'm seeing her like this. It scares me."
"Daisy is a strong little girl," she assured. "She'll pull through."
"I hope so."
They stayed in silence, completely still and alert with every move that his daughter made. After a few moments that passed by, Max turned to her and asked, "are you okay with staying overnight? I know you were at your parents' house earlier. I'm so sorry for pulling you out of family night."
"No, it's okay." She said.
"And Nicole?" he said.
"Yes?"
He looked at her with an apologetic look on his face. He opened his mouth and the words that she didn't want to hear spilled out. "I'm sorry about what happened the other day. I shouldn't have left like that. I was acting like a big jerk and overstepped your boundaries. It's a mistake that neither one of us should make again, Nicole."
She could hear the regret in his voice. He probably wished that that night hadn't happened. Like what Max had said. He had made a mistake that he would never want to make again.
She blinked past the tears that welled up in the back of her eyes. She didn't want to take the chance of being vulnerable again with him. As far as Nicole was concerned, Max didn't care about her like that. He never did and never would.
"Are you okay?" he asked after she didn't respond.
She nodded, her eyes averted. "I'm fine. And thank you for telling me. I really appreciate it. I guess I'm sorry for how I've pushed myself onto you as well. I must have had to drink that night as well."
"I think we should just forget about it, don't you think?" he asked, breaking her heart into million pieces.
"Yeah, we should just let it be." She agreed.
They spent the rest of their time sitting in silence. At some point, Nicole found herself yawning. Before she knew it, she was already asleep. With her head lai
d on Max's shoulder blade, she fought hard to keep her eyes open but sleep won over. By the time she had woken up, sunlight was already shining outside.
Max was nowhere to be seen once more. She had felt another rise of panic before she heard the shower running in the background. Nicole got up from the rug she laid on, checking to see if Daisy was all right. The little girl was still fast asleep, but her temperature had gone down.
She let Daisy be and stretched out her limbs in the air. Her muscles ached from the way she had fallen asleep, but after a few minutes, blood had finally traveled back to her limbs.
Max emerged from the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around his waist. She watched as water droplets slid down his body, disappearing into the tapered hips of his. Nicole longed for him to be closer to her so she could lick a path from his neck to the erection he had hidden. She looked away before he could see her.
"How is she doing?" he asked after he got dressed. Much to her disappointment.
"She's doing well. I guess her temperature went down last night." She grabbed the thermometer from the drawer beside the baby's crib and placed it on her armpit. As soon as it beeped, she took it away gently before seeing the number go down. It was still high, but at least it had made a major difference than when she had come over.
"Thank goodness," he whispered under his breath.
He reached out, caressing his daughter's head and cooing soft, endearing words to her. She had to get home and get changed and just come back again. Nicole remembered that she hadn't returned the clothes that she had borrowed from him the other day. So she really had to get home and bring food over. She told him this, and he looked as if he didn't want to let her go.
"There's food in the fridge. I can always cook. I've got some small shirts and probably pants that I've outgrown in the closet. Take a look and take a shower here instead. There's no need for you to go home."
She wanted to stay here for as long as he wanted her to. But she knew at some point that this would end. She would only cause more heartbreak to herself, and that was the last thing that Nicole wanted. So she mustered enough courage and told him she would be back. It was a promise that she planned on keeping.
