It had been a couple of days since he last saw her, as the club ended up going on a gun run for Diaz. Since the Billionaire Bikers were out of their lives, along with the Abelli mafia problem, everything had been getting back to normal. Or as normal as a bikers’ club could allow.
“They’re all so beautiful,” Lindsey said, staring up at them.
“I didn’t know you were into stars,” Kasey said.
Most of the young kids were curled up asleep inside the clubhouse. Several of the men and women had one of those baby monitor things in their grips.
“I am. I like a lot of things, Kasey, and it’s not all about sex, even though that is high up on my list of things to love.”
He chuckled.
“Don’t start, you,” Lindsey said, tapping his arm. “Did you get my drink?”
“What the lady wants, she gets.” He handed her an orange soda.
“Thank you, kind sir.” She sat up and started to drink.
“So, are you going next week?” Kasey asked, sitting up.
“Next week?” Pie asked, looking between the two women.
Chip sighed as he came to sit down. He kissed Kasey’s shoulder.
It didn’t bother Pie to see them together.
“I’ve got this work party thing with a few colleagues. We’re going to have a few drinks. That will probably be it.” She licked her lips. “Do you want to come?”
“Am I invited?”
“Of course, silly. We can see about finding you that hot date.”
Just then the sound of her stomach rumbling reminded him that he was in line to get some burgers, which Pike was flipping on the grill.
“I’ll get some food.”
“What about you, honey? Will you feed your wife?” Kasey asked.
“Of course.” Chip kissed Kasey’s head, then followed Pie toward the pit.
Duke was there, turning some steaks over.
“We need food,” Chip said. “Our women are starving.”
“Get in line. Everyone is starving,” Duke said. “We’ve been on the road for too long, and we’re nearly out of everything Holly and Mary made for us all.”
It was late, and a couple of the kids wanted to stargaze after Landon bought them all telescopes last Christmas. Tonight was the perfect night. Clear skies, lots of stars and the way Lindsey looked at him—he’d never have put her as a stargazing lover, but there you go.
“What’s going on with you and Lindsey?”
“Nothing, why?”
“Just, the two of you seem kind of cozy together. You’re, like … joined at the hip,” Chip said.
Duke burst out laughing. “Please, you threw Lindsey and Pie at each other and now you’re complaining because they spend so much time together.”
“I’m not complaining. I’m happy for him. Lindsey’s a great woman.”
Pike snorted. “You’re only saying that because she’s taken Pie off your hands.”
“Will you two shut up?” Chip said.
“I like Lindsey,” Holly said, coming up to the table. She wrapped her arms around Duke’s waist. “She doesn’t bullshit and she doesn’t go chasing after other women’s men, so she’s great. Unlike some women.” She looked toward the few sweet-butts that happened to be in residence tonight. One of them was hanging off Dime’s neck while the other was smooching up to Landon as if she was his second skin.
Pie loved to fuck the sweet-butts. He could take what he wanted and kick them out.
Now though, it was … hard. He didn’t want to hurt Lindsey, not that they had a label for their relationship. They were friends. Good friends. Best friends.
“You know she and Kasey talk all the time,” Chip said. “You’re wanting Lindsey to help find you a woman.”
“I’ve been told that as well. Lindsey wanted to know what you were looking for in settling down. I had no idea you wanted to be a family man,” Holly said.
“Why don’t you all fuck off and leave this as my and Lindsey’s business?”
“It’s not just your business though, is it? It’s the club business,” Pike said. “We all need to know what is serious and what’s not.”
Pie rolled his eyes. He knew for a fact they were trying to piss him off. “I don’t need to hear this shit. Call me when the food is done.” He made his way back inside where he caught Raoul and Zoe making out. “Shit, sorry.” He quickly left the clubhouse and went to the front. Everyone was around back, and he climbed up onto the wall, staring up at the sky, trying to relax.
Rubbing at his eyes, he tried not to think of what the guys were saying to him.
“You don’t always have to hide, you know,” Lindsey said, coming toward him. She carried two burgers in her hands. “Did the guys upset you?”
“They were just saying shit, but I’m used to it by now.”
“I don’t know. You looked a little upset.” She held out one of the burgers. “Onions, mustard, mayo, and some pickles.”
“Just the way I like it.”
He took a bite and moaned at the taste. It was a damn good burger. Lindsey moved so that her ass was resting against the wall.
“Do you think I come around too often?” she asked.
“No, why?”
“I’ve seen the way some of the sweet-butts look at you and I figure they’re missing you.”
He chuckled. “There’s plenty of dick around the club to satisfy.”
“Yeah, but when they want your dick? Come on, Pie, when was the last time you got laid?”
He was still chewing his mouthful of burger, but he wasn’t interested in talking about this, not now. “It doesn’t matter. When was the last time you were with someone?”
She shrugged. “I don’t know. Between work, helping out Kasey, going on dates, it’s been a little hazy on the dating front, you know.”
He watched her look up at the stars as she ate her burger.
In the distance he heard the cheering and celebration of the club.
“You had another successful run, I hear.”
“You shouldn’t hear all these things.”
“Secrets are safe with me, Pie. You know that by now.”
“We got the job done. That’s all that you need to know.”
“Love your need for secrecy. It’s so hot.”
He laughed. “I enjoy this, Lindsey. The sweet-butts, sex, it comes and goes, but being with you, this is kind of fun.”
“Only kind of?”
“Okay, a lot of fun.”
“You’ve got that right.” She sighed. “Isn’t it funny how our lives turn out?”
“How do you mean?”
“You and me. The whole BFF thing. Kasey with a little kid. The club. Me working at a plastic surgery clinic. It’s just … I never imagined my life being like this, you know.”
“What did you imagine?”
“I don’t know. I think it’s that moment at school when you graduate and you’re on top of the world. No one can bring you down. Then in the next breath it’s like the entire world is against you. You’re just part of a system and that system wants you to fail.”
“Wow, if this is what soda does to you, I will cut you off.”
“You know what I mean. I can be real with you. We can all make believe and pretend, but the truth is life can really suck at times.”
He stared at her, getting the feeling that she wanted to talk about something else. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, of course.”
She wouldn’t look at him, and he hated that. Taking her hand, he locked their fingers together.
“If you could be anywhere else right now, where would you be?”
Lindsey turned her head and smiled. “Nowhere. Believe it or not, Pie, I happen to love being with you. I think you’re pretty damn special.” She cupped his cheek. “Whoever gets you, will be lucky.”
He couldn’t look away. Her soft blue eyes called to him. Something was bothering her, he didn’t know what, but he wanted to make it okay for her,
to take whatever pain she was feeling and make it all disappear.
“You guys seen my dad?” Matthew said, interrupting the moment when Pie had been about to speak.
Looking over to Matthew, Duke’s son from a previous relationship, Pie was shocked. “I thought you went to go and see Luna.”
“I did, and now I’m back. He in the back?” Matthew asked.
“He’s cooking up burgers,” Lindsey said.
“I didn’t interrupt anything weird then, did I?” Matthew glanced between the two of them.
“Not at all,” Lindsey said. “It’s good to see you.”
“Yeah, bye.”
Pie watched as Matthew walked away and frowned. “What the fuck is his problem?”
“He looks upset. I’m sure the entire club will know before long.”
She stood up, pulling her hand away, and started to stretch.
“Did you ever want kids?” Pie asked.
“Wow, you just kind of blew that one out, didn’t you?”
“Did you?”
“Yeah, I think I did. A couple of them.”
“You’d make a good mom.”
“Ha, I doubt that’s in the cards for me. Come on, hotshot. Stop being miserable and let’s go and join the others.”

“You and Pie are getting really close,” Kasey said the following day.
Lindsey listened with only half an ear because she was too busy making faces at the little guy. They’d decided to name him Liam, even though Lindsey had wanted a different name, but Chip had told her straight, he was the father, while she was merely a godparent. She wasn’t just any godparent though. She was Liam’s aunt, especially as she’d declared Kasey her long-lost sister.
“I like him. He’s a good friend.”
“Chip told me he doesn’t spend as much time in the clubhouse anymore. The sweet-butts are even talking.”
“What do you mean?”
“He won’t hang with them.”
Lindsey shrugged her shoulder. “He’s looking for the right woman. I don’t see a problem with him deciding to step away from screwing everything with a vagina. No, we don’t, do we? We don’t see a big problem with that.” She started to talk in a baby voice and tickled Liam’s ribs.
Picking him up, she made her way out to where Kasey was folding up some laundry.
“You know we’ve got a spare room,” Kasey said. “You could move in with us. I don’t like the thought of you being at that place all by yourself.”
“Don’t you worry about it. Chip puts up with me because I’m a good babysitter, but we all know he wouldn’t like me living here full-time.” She stroked Liam’s back. “How are you holding up?”
When Liam was first born, he wasn’t the easiest of babies, up all hours of the night, and barely giving Kasey two minutes to sleep. Lindsey had come in to take a few night shifts to help her friend.
“I’m doing much better. He sleeps through the night now, and in the morning he’s always hungry.”
“That’s because he’s a chunky little cute pie. Yes, you are, and I could eat him all up.” She pressed her lips to Liam’s cheek and pretended to nibble him while making nom-nom voices.
“You’re really good with kids.”
“It’s easy to be. They’re cute.”
“So, this party. Do you really want to go?”
“Marie wants to go, to have lots of fun. She’s married, and her husband gives her a couple of nights a week where she doesn’t have to be mom or anything else. It’s a pretty good arrangement.”
“So sweet of him.”
Lindsey detected the heavy sarcasm. “It’s not your husband.” She thought it was a pretty good deal between Marie and her husband, but not something she could have agreed to. When she found her Mr. Right, she hoped that not a day went by that she didn’t want to be with him.
Her ideals when it came to love were still very naïve, even though she’d been burned a couple of times by men claiming to love her more than anything else in the world. Still, she believed in love, and if that meant getting her heart broken, then that was the risk she was willing to take.
“Sorry, I don’t mean to sound like a bitch. Chip and I, we don’t get as much time with each other as we used to. He’s busy with club stuff, and I’ve got Liam.”
“You’ve got the best job in the world. Let’s face it, Liam is the best-looking guy around.”
Kasey walked toward them and stroked Liam’s cheek. Liam took his mother’s finger and began to suck on it. “I love him so much.”
“I don’t doubt it. Would you like me to take him tonight for you and for Chip? Get dressed up. Have a nice meal, hot sex, maybe even take a long bath. What do you say?”
“I couldn’t ask that.”
“You’re not asking. I’m offering, and I want to do this. Please, let me.”
Kasey took a deep breath. “If you’re sure.”
“I wouldn’t say I was sure if I didn’t offer.”
“Okay, then.”
“Do you have his car seat? And I’ll get everything set up.”
Kasey got everything that she would need from diapers to bottles, and some of his toys. They both got her car filled, and Lindsey strapped in the car seat, making sure she could see him in her mirror.
“Thank you,” Kasey said.
“You can call any time but make sure you’ve not got cock in you when you do.”
Kasey’s face turned red. “That was one time.”
“And I’ve got Chip’s groan etched into my brain like a horror movie moment.” Lindsey hugged her friend. “Have fun. That is an order. Relax, take it easy.”
She climbed behind her wheel and took off. It wasn’t long before Liam was asleep as she drove back to her apartment.
This time she didn’t put any music on and listened to the sound of the world passing her by. The drive was short and sweet as she pulled up into her spot, parking the car. Going to the trunk of the car first, she put the three large bags of baby stuff over her shoulder, crossing the straps over her breasts before grabbing the baby carrier. “I’m going to lose so much weight carrying you up those stairs, sunshine.” Pulling the carrier from the car, she walked into her building, going to her apartment box to grab her mail. Seeing it was mostly junk mail with one bill actually perked her right up.
“Can never be too careful in this world, Liam,” she said to the still-sleeping baby. The elevator was still out. “Time for us to head on upstairs. Don’t worry, sweetheart. You stay, rest, relax, do all those wonderful things that kids do.”
She walked up the flight of steps and knew she was going to get onto the landlord to fix that damn elevator. This was a one-time deal for her with Liam unless she offered again, but there were other mothers in the building. They had a right to a nice lift every now and again. Leaning her back against the wall, she took a deep breath and pushed some of her hair off her face.
Finally at her door, sweaty and gross, she entered her place. It was pristine, and she loved her space.
She missed Kasey a lot, but she wasn’t going to be the kind of friend that always seemed to be a third wheel. There were times she still felt that now. With Liam on the floor in his car seat, sound asleep, she unpacked his things and placed them within reach in her small apartment. With that all done, she moved onto the next stage and that was coffee.
It wasn’t long before Liam woke up, and then chaos ensued. He needed to be fed, then changed, and she had no choice but to wash him out of the onesie he wore as he’d shit all over it.
She didn’t even realize it was past eight when someone knocked on her apartment door. Checking through the peephole, she saw it was Pie, and opened up.
“Did we have a date or something?”
“Nope. I thought I’d stop by. Why do you have Liam?”
“I saw Kasey today, and I wanted her to have some alone time with Chip. Why? Do I look frazzled?”
“You look adorable. Your hair is all out of place, and
there’s vomit on your shirt. I think you’ve got slather down your chest, but you have this huge fucking smile on your face.”
“Liam decided to teach me exactly how much a baby could crap, didn’t he? Yes, he did.”
Pie laughed. “Here, let me take him.”
“You want to stay?”
“You look like you could use a shower, and I don’t mind, really. I’ve handled kids before. This boy will be a piece of cake.”
He took Liam, and Lindsey felt the brush of his fingers against her breast. Was it an accident? She didn’t know. Her body came to life at the briefest of touches though.
Excusing herself, she rushed toward the bathroom, quickly stripping off her clothes, and stepping beneath the hot steaming water. It felt good to have the water wash down her body.
Her nipple where his fingers had grazed felt sensitive. Glancing down at her body, she cupped her tit, stroking her thumb across the tight nipple. Closing her eyes, she imagined it was Pie touching her, pinching her before sliding down her body. Dipping her hand between her thighs, she stroked her pussy.
Teasing her clit, she glided down, pressing two fingers inside, then drawing them back up to play with herself.
She was so wet, and she imagined Pie tearing off all her clothes. He wasn’t nice or sweet. He took what he wanted and only when his cock was balls deep inside her did he hold her down and make her take him. He was the one in charge. He controlled her, and his dick was the thing of dreams.
Gasping, she sped up as her orgasm neared, needing that release, that pleasure. When she came, she said his name on a moan.
She was coming down from her high when Pie’s voice interrupted her.
“Lindsey, you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Why?”
“I thought I heard a noise.”
“Oh, it’s nothing. We’re all good.” She took a deep breath and hoped that he’d not heard her orgasm. Resting her head against the tile, she smiled. That was the best feeling she’d experienced in a long time.
Chapter Four
“So, you’re the boyfriend,” Marie said.
Pie forced a smile. Lindsey had wanted him to go to this party and he’d even offered to change into a suit or something, but she’d been more than happy for him to stay how he was, complete with the leather cut.
