“Nigga, we can fucking look at whatever the fuck we want to look at!” one man that resembled Terry Crews spoke up. He was sitting adjacent from Johnny in the same holding cell.
Johnny smacked his lips and began to respond, “Nigga, do you—” but was interrupted by a blow to the mouth from the same man that said they can fucking look, followed by others joining in to jump on him. Johnny was too weak to even fight back. He was a coward without that gun, so he just laid there until the other officers finally came to break the fight up.
“Come on, we’re going to move you to another cell.”
“Wait, they got my fucking chain!!” Johnny yelped as they dragged and removed him from the cell.
“Too fucking bad, you didn’t need it anyway,” the tall officer said, pulling the very fragile Johnny by his shirt and tossing him inside his own induvial cell.
“Y’all have no fucking idea who y’all fucking with!” Johnny threatened.
“Oh yea, try me?” the same officer spoke, folding his arms across his chest. He knew exactly who he was dealing with. The city of Detroit was small, word traveled fast, so there was no need for him to introduce himself.
“I could have yo’ as—”
“Yea, Johnny, save it. All that threatening shit don’t work for me. I said I know exactly who you are, the streets always talking. Now you can either shut the fuck up and wait until your bail posts, or you can go back to getting yo’ ass handed to you by them over there.” He pointed over back at the cell.
“Nah, I’m straight.”
“That’s what the fuck I thought,” the officer said and walked away.
Johnny sat down, putting his head in his lap. He could not believe he set foot in this place. He’d never been to jail in his entire life, so he felt powerless. He started having conversations with himself, making plans on how he was going to kill every motherfucker in that precinct. After waiting for what seemed like hours, Johnny’s stomach was growling from hunger.
“Lunch time!!!” The same cop that threw Johnny in his own cell came around clinking his baton against the cell bars.
“Fucking finally,” Johnny mumbled, standing up to receive his tuna sandwich.
“Everyone gets to eat except for you!” the officer said, unlocking Johnny’s cell.
“What the fuck? Did my bail post?”
“Not quite, but I got something better.” The officer pulled Johnny from his cell into a dark hallway that was duct taped off for construction.
“What the fuck is going on?” he asked, looking around to find himself alone with the officer. “Man, what the fuck is you doing!” he screamed as he felt his pants being pulled down.
“What does it looks like?”
“Oh hell nawl, I ain’t dow—” He couldn’t even get the words out fast enough before he felt a super hard penis inside his dry anus. “Take your dick out my ass!”
“What’s the matter? I thought you liked shit like this.”
“Who the fuck told you some shit like that?”
“A little birdie,” he whispered in Johnny’s ear. “Agh, fuck!” he screamed as he released all his nut inside Johnny’s poisonous body. “Your bail has posted.”
“What! Now you say this after you had your way with me?” Johnny said as he was pulling up his pants.
“Yea, I wanted to violate you, show you that you not running shit around here,” the officer said, panting like a thirsty dog in heat.
“Unhandcuff me right this minute!” Johnny demanded, clenching his jaw, just like he did whenever someone pissed him off.
“C’mon, right this way!” The officer pulled on Johnny as he was being led back to the front. He was limping because he was in pain from being entered without preparation. Azul sat and waited for Johnny to come up front.
“Whoa, they really took a number on you,” Azul said, watching Johnny limping in a rush to get the fuck up out of there.
“Yea, what the fuck took y’all so long?” Johnny said, cutting straight into Azul.
“We had to—”
“Man, cut the bullshit. I told y’all exactly where to find the stash. Y’all think y’all slick! Now take me straight to my warehouse. I need to visit our little prisoner,” Johnny demanded, unaware that Kairo torched his warehouse and set Smoke free.
“Um, I got bad news.” Azul choked on the words that came from his mouth. He had no idea how he was going to give Johnny this bad news. He knew one way or another, he was eventually going to have to tell him.
“What? Bad news like what?” Johnny stopped and asked.
“Alright, well your nephew turned state on you and Kairo is back,” Azul said, not giving Johnny the bad news all at once.
“Ok. You said bad news. I know Malachi snitched, and that’s why I’m looking for his ass now, but Kairo, I want her fucking head on a stake.”
“That’s not all.”
“Then fucking spill it. You acting like you fucking scared to tell me what’s going on.”
“Kairo burned down your entire warehouse and your prisoner is now free,” Azul finally admitted. He was really afraid of telling Johnny that Kairo raided his warehouse. He was there when she and Delano raided the first one.
“Did anyone survive?” Johnny asked, clenching his jaw.
“Most of your workers died in the fire, and the bitch bombed up the place. I did not even see her leave. She left this note. ALL THINGS MUST COME TO AN END -KAIRO,” he read to Johnny, who was now enraged with anger.
“What the fuck was you doing, sleeping?” Johnny questioned.
“I was—” Azul started to say but was interrupted by Johnny.
“Nigga you let them raid my shit. You fucking weak ass nigga!”
“Boss, I can get back at them. I got an address,” Azul admitted when he pulled out the piece of paper from his back pocket. “Some little bitch named Alexis came by just before Kairo bombed everything up yesterday. She told me where I could find him.”
“Well why the fuck you didn’t say nothing?” Johnny looked at Azul. “I swear you got to be the dumbest motherfucker alive. Let’s go!”
Johnny continued his insults the whole time Azul drove to the address on Fenkell that Alexis provided on some spiteful shit. They beat Kairo and Malachi there, doing over 100 mph on I-75. When they pulled up, they slammed car doors, drawing attention that they were there. Olivia was sitting in the living room when she heard them slam the doors, and peeked through the blinds. She noticed Johnny off rip and did not see Azul walk around to the back. So, she ran to retrieve the Uzi Malachi left in the front closet for safety reasons.
Johnny slowly approached the front door, not aware of what was on the other side. He paused before he knocked twice to see if anyone was home.
“Johnny, I know you here for Malachi. He isn’t here!” Olivia yelled out. Her voice was shaky because she was terrified. She’d never shot a gun before, let alone shot a human being.
Johnny cracked a wicked smile, because he wanted to kill Olivia anyway. Maybe this would send Malachi a message. He turned the knob and realized it was locked. “Damn it! Olivia, I don’t want to have to do this, but I have to,” Johnny said as he took all the strength he had to kick the door in.
BLAAAAAAATTTTTT TAT TAT TAT!
Olivia let the gun rip into Johnny’s chest, emptying the entire clip of rounds into his body. It was like a hood 1980’s movie playing in slow motion. He staggered backwards onto the porch holding his chest that was leaking 17 holes of blood onto his black Versace shirt. Now Azul was already positioned in the back waiting on Johnny’s signal when he heard the gunshots. He busted into the back door.
POW! POW! POW!
Azul fired three shots into Olivia’s body off impulse. “Oh shit, little mama, why you had to have the gun in your hand?” he said, running to hold her pregnant body that was now on the floor.
“He-help me!” Olivia said, choking on her blood, but died immediately afterwards. Azul knew it had to be her or him, and he was not ready to die.
/>
SCUUURRRTTT!!!
Azul heard a car screeching its tires nearby and decided to make a run for it. He was not about to be caught slipping. So, he escaped through the back leaving his gun near Olivia’s dead body.
Kairo felt something was wrong when she turned up the block and she saw a dead body on the stairs of their porch. “Oh shit, that’s Johnny’s body!” Malachi yelled as he glanced and saw their door wide open.
“Oh my god, Olivia!!” Kairo screamed, pulling onto the grass, not shifting the car into gear before the Camaro crashed into the bottom of the concrete stairs. This caused a lot of commotion now that the other residents that lived on their block came out to be nosy. “Olivia!!” Kairo screamed, running over Johnny’s body. He was still clinging onto life, choking on his blood asking for help.
Malachi pulled out his gun and watched as Johnny choked on his own blood for a minute. He did not care about the neighbors watching, he was gone get the revenge he always wanted for his father. “Delano said what up!”
POW!
“MALACHIIIII!” Kairo cried as she discovered Olivia’s lifeless body. Malachi ran into the house immediately to find Kairo holding a cold Olivia.
“Ma! What happened?” Malachi’s voice cracked.
“I don’t know! We failed, we didn’t make it in time.” The faint noise of sirens was approaching the house, and Kairo realized they were still on the run. “Son, we have to go! The police are coming.”
“No, Ma! We can’t just leave them!” Malachi shouted with a face full of tears streaming down his cheeks. He was holding Olivia who was turning stiff and blue right in front of him.
“Son, we don’t have time. Let’s g—” Kairo screamed but was soon interrupted by the loudspeaker phones from the cops.
“WE KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE! WE HAVE THE PLACE SURROUNDED. PLEASE SURRENDER!”
“Son, we have to fucking go!” Kairo said again, trying to get Malachi to go with her.
“You can go, but I’m going to surrender! Kiss the twins for me,” Malachi said as he got up and slowly walked to the front door with both hands in the air. He was surrendering because he knew he couldn’t run for much longer. Soon as he approached the door, thousands of red lasers were on his body and they all fired at once.
“NOOOOOOO!!!!!” Kairo screamed, grabbing the gun that was on the floor next to Olivia and ran to shoot the officers that killed her son. “BITCHES!!!”
POW! POW! POW!
Gunshots were fired everywhere, but Kairo was outnumbered. She continued to walk while the police struck her with bullets on every side. She finally fell onto her knees on the concrete porch with blood escaping from her mouth and took her final breath.
“All things come to an end,” Smoke said, putting the cigarette out next to Kairo’s dead body.

Balance.
Balance was my everything.
Growing up as a classically trained ballerina with dreams of being a professional dancer, balance was my life. Everything about me depended on it; my diet, my temper, my sleep and waking schedule. I even dedicated myself to rigorous yoga and martial arts training to learn how to maintain focus by balancing my breath. Balance was literally my everything.
Living like this came with several rules and I was the kind of person who didn’t mind following them. Rules were made to protect me; they kept me safe. And I never had issues following them but, to be totally honest, I never once had a reason not to.
At least, not until I met him.
My name is January Luckeisha Murray, daughter of the honorable Janelle Murray and Luke ‘Outlaw’ Murray, the infamous leader of the Black Bag Mafia, an underground crime society. Most know me as the apple of his eye, a cherished mafia princess who always followed her father’s rules about staying out of the public’s eye. But now daddy’s little girl is all grown up and I’m ready to share my story.
This is a story about the time when I decided to break all the rules… The time I fell in love.

Money, power, and respect seemed to make I.E. and Truth pretty much untouchable to most for years. Growing up in the streets of Newark, NJ, they made a pact at an early age to become two of the biggest and richest dru
g dealers around. By the age of 24, they had successfully accomplished their goal. Young, black, and paid, life was good in their eyes and they had no complaints. The ladies loved them, and the streets respected them.
With his height and the chiseled body to go along with brown eyes that fit perfectly against his golden caramel skin, I.E. was gorgeous, and he knew it. Let his aunt tell it, “that baby boy was born perfect.” Every female in the hood was pretty much willing to do anything to be his girl, or at least one of them, but he prided himself on being unattached. He’d never been in love or had a woman he called his own. And he loved it.
Truth loved his lifestyle just as much as IE loved his. Dark-skinned with dreadlocks, he was built solid and strong. The women flocked to Truth everywhere he went but they also knew that he was only concerned with getting money and his long-time girlfriend, Shafequah. She was his world, and everyone knew it. And there was no way he was going to replace her, ever.
One night at the club changes everything when Truth and I.E. meet the breathtakingly beautiful Tina, and her equally as beautiful God-sister, Ka’mirah. It’s in that meeting that everything in their world begins to change in the blink of an eye.
When I.E. and Tina decide to give in to their feelings for each other, it sends both I.E. and Truth into a street war with their rival and Tina’s ex, Raheem. Determined not to back down from his empire or the woman he wants in his life, I.E. is ready to defend his territory by any means necessary. Stuck in a street battle with I.E., Truth is also waging war at home when he finds himself caught up with two women he can’t choose between. Whatever he eventually decides, he knows for sure that life as he knew it will never be the same.
