“She has a good point,” said Joseph.
Greg looked at the Whyte who was hovering beside his mother. “What point?” he asked.
“That it was the babies who changed Jimmy,” Joseph replied. “It is a very good possibility that they were the ones who changed him. When a shifter transforms a human, they have to do it consciously; they do it with the purpose of transforming that human into a shifter as well. However, since Olivia was asleep when Jimmy was transformed, it would make more sense to believe that it was actually your twins who changed Jimmy.”
Greg pulled Olivia into his arms and placed his hands over her belly, which was now protruding even more than it had been just two days ago.
“I think that our babies are going to be truly amazing people,” he told Olivia while looking her in her eyes.
She looked over at Jimmy, and then back to Greg and said, “Oh, honey, I think that they already are.”
Greg smiled. He knew that she was right. Their babies were already amazing, and it they were this good now, he could only imagine how much better they would become once they were born.

Several weeks went by with Jimmy coming back and forth, learning about himself as a lion shifter, just as Olivia had done right after her change. During that time, Olivia’s belly grew larger until she looked like a woman who was in her ninth month of pregnancy. Only was she able to feel the babies moving, but it could easily be seen anytime they kicked or rolled over.
Luckily for her, the many of the Whytes knew how to practice traditional medicine in combination with being able to use their magical skills. Olivia could not imagine how a regular human doctor would react to her extremely unusual and fast paced pregnancy.
Joseph had told her that the babies were both fully formed and would be ready for their births any day now, so she should make sure that she was absolutely ready to have them at the drop of a hat. They had outfitted one of the spare rooms in her and Greg’s home like a hospital room. Since giving birth in a regular hospital would not be a possibility for her, they made sure that they were prepared to do so in their home.
Olivia was watching Jimmy practice fighting techniques as a lion with Jessica and Glenn when Greg came up behind her, and she felt him wrap his arms around her from behind. Greg leaned down and kissed her softly on the side of her neck, just behind her ear. She was not able to stop herself from sighing at the sensation of feeling his lips on her, especially in such a sensitive spot.
“Hello, beautiful,” Greg whispered into her ear.
His husky voice washed through her and she felt it set her core on fire. When she groaned, Greg must have known exactly what he had done to her; after all, Olivia knew that it had been his intention from the moment he put his arms around her.
She turned around in her mate’s arms and put her hands around his neck. “Do you know what I think we should do?” she asked Greg coyly.
“Hmm,” was Greg’s response.
She leaned into him as much as she could and whispered in his ear, “I think you should take me up to our room so that we can take a nice, hot bath together in the Jacuzzi tub. Then, when we get out, you need to take your time and make slow, sweet love to me for the rest of the day.”
She did not have to tell him twice. Greg whipped around towards their house so fast that Olivia would not have seen him do so if she hadn’t been right there with him and paying attention to his every move.
He grabbed her hand and was immediately headed in the direction of their home.
When they got to the house, Greg filled up the tub with hot water and got in and pulled her down in front of him so that she was laying back against his chest. He massaged her shoulders, then gently washed her.
He was so gentle and loving and Olivia closed her eyes and sighed. “God, that feels so good,” she said.
Greg kissed her on the cheek and she turned her head so she was able to kiss him on the lips. After they shared a few slow, languid kisses Greg pulled back slightly and looked at her.
“Are you ready to get out and take this to the bed, baby?” he asked her, then he placed another quick kiss on her nose.
Olivia smiled at him and kissed him quickly on his lips again. “Definitely,” she told him.
Greg got up and out of the tub, then he held his hands out to her to help her out of the tub. She was very careful when she stepped out. Her protruding belly made it difficult for her to balance herself sometimes these days, and Greg was growing increasingly more protective of her.
Once she was standing with both feet back on the floor on the other side of the tub, Greg wrapped her in a towel and turned to grab one for himself.
“Thanks, honey,” she told him while she continued to dry herself off with the towel.
He smiled at her cheekily. “Well, of course. Anything for you.”
Olivia laughed and gave her mate a chaste kiss.
When she moved to leave the bathroom and walk back into their bedroom and to the bed, Olivia felt a sudden kick very low down in her womb, and then a rush of wetness flowed down her inner legs.
“Babe, are you coming?” Greg asked her when he was standing beside the bed, and he patted his hand down on the mattress and smirked at her.
“Well, I don’t think that we will be able to do anything else right now,” Olivia told Greg and he looked at her like he thought she was just playing hard to get. That was until she sucked in a sharp, fast breath when a painful contraction shot through her and she grabbed at her stomach like that would help relieve the pain.
Greg was at her side in a flash, rubbing his hand up and down her back as he tried to sooth her. “Olivia, what’s wrong?” he asked her. Then, he must have noticed the wetness that had pooled on the floor at her feet because he spoke again before Olivia had the opportunity to respond to his question.
“Your water broke. Holy shit, you’re in labor!” he exclaimed. It was a statement of recognition, not a question, but Olivia nodded in affirmation anyway. “We are going to be parents,” Greg said, and she could hear the excitement in his voice.
“Yes, honey, we are,” Olivia said. “Right now, I need you to help me get into a gown, though, so that we can make our way to the room set up for my delivery before I wind up giving birth to our babies right here.”
“Oh, right,” Greg said and he began rushing around the room to grab her things and helped her get into her gown. Then they made their way down the hall to the other room where everything was set up for her to give birth.
“Jessica!” Greg called out when they saw her walking down the hall towards her bedroom.
Jessica turned around and faced them. “Yeah, cousin, what’s up?” she asked right before Olivia saw her face change and recognition take over her features when Jessica took in Olivia and Greg. “Oh my God! Are you in labor?” she practically screamed when she ran up to approach them.
“Yes, I am. My water already broke.” That was all Olivia was able to say before she was hit with another painful, sharp contraction.
“Jessica, can you go get my mother and Joseph for us?” Greg asked while he tried to soothe Olivia once again.
“Oh, yes, of course! I will be right back with them,” Jessica said, and then she was running down the hall in the opposite direction.
Greg helped her into the room and onto the bed. Her contractions were already coming really close together, and they were steadily becoming more painful. Olivia was happy when she saw Jane and Joseph coming into the room. Jane was smiling ear to ear, and clearly happy about the fact that she was about to become a grandmother.
“Hey, honey. How are you doing?” Jane said when she came to the side of Olivia’s bed and took her hand.
“I’m okay,” Olivia told her. “Ready to get these babies out right about now.”
“Well, I guess that it is a good thing that you are already ready to go right now then,” Joseph said.
“Wait, you mean it is already time for her to push?” G
reg asked Joseph.
“Yes, that is exactly what I mean,” he told Greg. “I hope that you are ready to be a daddy because these babies are coming into this world in a hurry.”
“That’s great,” Olivia said between clenched teeth as she was breathing through another contraction. “Can we please go ahead and get this show on the road then?” she asked.
“Absolutely,” Joseph told her. “You can go ahead and push as soon as you feel ready.”
Olivia did not waste any time and began pushing when her next contraction hit. Greg and Jane remained on either side of her, each of them holding one of her hands. She pushed until she heard the beautiful sound of one of her children crying.
“It’s a girl,” Greg told her and she smiled up at him just before another contraction hit her.
“Okay, Olivia,” Joseph said. “One more time so we can get your other baby born.”
Olivia nodded and concentrated on giving birth to their second child. Olivia heard a new cry and then Jane spoke up, “Oh, it’s another girl. Olivia, they are beautiful.”
Greg helped Olivia sit back up and then he laid both of their daughters in her arms. She could not stop her tears.
“Oh my God, Greg, they are beautiful.”
Greg was right there by her side with his arm wrapped around her while he gazed down at their two beautiful girls. “They are so precious,” said Jane. “Have you two decided on names yet?” she asked them.
Olivia and Greg looked each other in their eyes. “Ava and Zoey Wilds,” they both said together.
For the rest of the day everyone from their pride and all of their friends made their rounds to visit the new twins. Olivia was exhausted when Jimmy stopped by to visit them. He was the last one to come.
“Hey, guys. How are you doing, Olivia?” Jimmy asked her when he walked up to the side of her bed.
“I feel fine, just a little tired right now.”
“Oh, I will go and let you get some rest then. I can come back tomorrow.”
She shook her head no. “No, Jimmy. You are not bothering me at all. Stay as long as you want.”
Greg walked up to Jimmy with Ava and Zoey in each one of his arms. “Would you like to hold them?” he asked Jimmy.
Olivia watched Jimmy’s smile brighten when he told Greg yes, and then held out his arms so that Greg could place the babies in his arms.
“Olivia, they are beautiful,” he told her.
“Thank you, Jimmy.”
He was making baby talk with her daughters and she smiled at how amazing it was. Then Olivia watched while both of her daughters began slowly lighting up in Jimmy’s arms.
“Oh my gosh,” Jimmy said. He looked up at Olivia. “Are you seeing this?”
“Yes, Jimmy, I see it,” Olivia told him.
“I think that they must really like you,” Greg said. “I guess it is definitely safe to say that they were the ones who put Jimmy through the change, wouldn’t you agree?”
Her mate looked at her and Olivia smiled at him, then she looked back over at Jimmy and their children. They were both still glowing brightly, and their light was funneling into Jimmy.
“Yes, I think you are right. I think that they wanted to make sure Jimmy officially became a part of the family.”
“I agree,” Greg said and he took her hand in his and squeezed.
Jimmy held Ava and Zoey for a few more minutes, talking to them and placing little kisses on their cheeks. Then he walked up to the side of Olivia’s bed and handed her children back over to her.
“Okay, I am going to leave so you guys can spend some time together and you can get some rest.” He bent down and gave her a hug. “I will come back and visit with you all again tomorrow.”
“Okay, Jimmy. We’ll see you tomorrow,” she told Jimmy and smiled at him before he left the room and closed the door behind him, leaving her and Greg alone with their babies for the first time that day.
Greg climbed into the bed with her and took Ava from her and wrapped his other arm around her shoulders.
“Look what we made,” he said quietly while he stared down at Ava in his arms. “They are perfect.”
She smiled up at him, and then looked down at Zoey, who she was holding tucked close to her chest. “Yes, they are,” she whispered. “Absolutely perfect.”
“I’ve been thinking,” Greg said a few minutes later. “We should put together a permanent bedroom for Jimmy on the other side of the girls’ room. They obviously have a strong connection with him so I think that we need to make sure that they are all close together whenever possible.”
Olivia smiled at her mate. Sometimes it was still hard for her to believe that he was real, and that this was really her life. He was truly amazing.
“I think that is a wonderful idea,” she told him. “I have a feeling that they are going to be very close.”
“Me too,” Greg agreed.
Olivia stared at Ava and Zoey for a few minutes and she couldn’t stop herself from smiling. When she looked back up at Greg he was watching her, and he had the most beautiful smile spread across his face.
“Thank you,” he told her, and she looked at him, confused by what he could be thanking her for. “Thanks for making our daughters, and for agreeing to be mine for the rest of our lives. I love you, Olivia Wilds.”
Olivia smiled and blinked away the tears that were threatening to spill over. “I love you too, Greg.”
Greg placed a soft kiss on her lips, and she could feel his love for her. Olivia had been through so many changes in such a short time, even came close to dying, but Greg and their newborn children made it more than worth it. She loved them with everything that she had, and she was so excited to spend the rest of her life with them as her family. In the end, meeting Greg turned out to be the best thing that had ever happened to her.
