A half wolf and half incubus prince might be deadly.

“Why would they ever give you up?” I whispered, tracing down his cheek.

Amadeus flinched, and something flashed in his gaze that just for a moment made me shiver with fear, rather than desire. Then Amadeus was all softness and snuggles again, as he wound his arms around my neck, and I allowed myself to be pulled into a pile of satin sheets, feathers, and alabaster skinned incubus.

Yet was this new prince even more dangerous now that he’d fed on the sexual energy of a god, angel, and a Wolf Charmer, than even a werewolf?

  CHAPTER FIFTEEN

If anyone had told me back in America to ignore the taunts and stares when I’d arrived with nobody but my cousin at the Starlight Prom because back home in England, I’d be woken twice in one night by a greedy half incubus whispering: let me pleasure you…? Well, maybe I wouldn’t have slipped the Truth Potion in the punch for revenge and then laughed, whilst the arrogant jerks who’d rejected me, babbled out everything that they’d always tried to hide, including both the girls and exams, on which they’d cheated.

  Good times…

Although, nothing like as good as waking up to my ravenous Charm stroking my hair for the second time, as Amadeus’ eyes glittered with sinful mischief and the moonlight shone over the bedroom like a shimmering blanket.

I shivered, even though I was still wrapped in the heat of my mom’s dress and cape. Somehow, I hadn’t had the energy to go questing for pajamas. Amadeus’ hand certainly had the energy, however, to go questing into the warm nest that was Ramiel wrapped around Mischief next to us, rubbing through their feathers, until Mischief groaned and opened his eyes.

“What a shock, you’re hungry again.” Mischief rubbed his eyes, as Ramiel stirred, flapping his wings and stretching out his long legs. My own legs parted like that would encourage Ramiel’s electric touch. After the way his hand had felt on mine, I was all about the hope. “Do tell me, are you in fact a new born? Are we to be expected to set up a feeding schedule?”

Amadeus snickered, although his eyes flashed with something wicked. “Depends now, doesn’t it, glittery god? Do you have something, on which you desire me to suck?”

  Mischief’s eyes widened. “Unpleasant.”

Ramiel tried to smother his laugh behind his hand and rolled across the bed, cradling me in his arms. Still Okami didn’t wake up, but continued to quietly snore in my pocket. I wondered for a moment if Ramiel was part incubus too because being wrapped in his nutmeg scented feathers had been just what I’d desired.

Amadeus had only partially woken me. You suffered from insomnia when one of your Charms had run off and was lost in Wolf Kingdom.

Huh, I was worrying for a wolf…? When had I become so protective over someone who was meant to be nothing more than a guard mutt with benefits? And why did my crimson sting me for even thinking about Moon in the same way that my aunt and Lux would?

Amadeus winked at Mischief, whilst slipping his hand down the soft skin of Mischief’s hip. “Don’t start and make out that you’re not imagining what my mouth can do because your cock isn’t finding the thought of sucking unpleasant, see?”

Mischief stared down at his fast perking up dick. “Traitor,” he grumbled, flicking its head.

I winced. “You know, dicks don’t have to come into this at all.” I tentatively met Amadeus’ confused gaze. “Honestly, you can shift into a woman if you want. The Queen of the Wilds told me Betas can do that even with the collars. Now you’re outside Wolf Kingdom, the royal decree that controls when you shift can go screw itself. You can be anything you want.”

Amadeus froze. “If it pleases you.”

Hey, that hadn’t been what I’d meant at all.

I stroked down his cheek. “It’s what pleases you. I’m all about the choice, that’s all. Hmm, if I could switch between a guy and a—”

“Then let me be a man for once.” Amadeus’ gaze was hard. “In the Gods, I was forced to always play as a woman. Sexy times like this as my choice…? It’s a fine thing, see.”

Suddenly, my chest was too tight. Amadeus was trained to be so seductive that I hadn’t realized that like this…a guy…he was as much a virgin as Moon. Every sensation was as new and exciting to him as it was to me. No wonder he was still at the waking up every couple of hours to screw a night stage.

When Mischief reached out his hand, Amadeus touched his glove to his palm with a tenderness that was as intimate as a kiss.

“It’s the Wolf Charmer who requires our attention.” Ramiel’s gaze was soft.

Mischief had called Ramiel the cleverest of the angels, as well as the mightiest. Right now, he read me as easily as the poetry that he was always buried in; it was frightening to feel that someone both cared and could understand me so deeply. He was gentle and thoughtful, yet also fiercely protective. And this was the angel who the coven thought broken and in need of fixing…?

I couldn’t even think of the House of Blood or Stella hurting Ramiel because I’d been judged unworthy.

Ramiel’s lips brushed across mine, almost touching but not quite, and I jolted. “May I caress you…here?”

I nodded, shuddering. His fingers lightly trailed across my tits. He drew circles over the skin above the ball gown, and I heated like he was touching me inside, coiling the pleasure higher. Yet he did no more than stroke me with feather light passes of his fingertips.

  Lower…please, touch me lower…

When I squirmed to encourage his fingers below the fabric of the dress to my aching nubs, he chuckled but only continued his maddeningly slow circling.

“Kiss her neck, prince,” Mischief ordered; his voice was like winding silk.

Mischief raised himself on his elbow, watching as Amadeus lowered himself over me, and Ramiel continued his stroking.

Amadeus’s eyes sparkled in the moonlight. He was feeding from the order and my pleasure. My red thrilled on the thought, bursting out to stroke over all three of the men in my bed and connecting us, until I experienced each of their pulsing, panting pleasure, just as they spiraled on theirs.

As one, we gasped, clutching onto each other.

Fevered, Amadeus’s tongue laved down my neck, and I moaned at the sudden intensity, as he sucked harder, marking me. When he peeked at me from underneath his lashes with both a burning beauty and a defiant grin, I knew that it’d been deliberate…and I loved it.

Ramiel’s finger circled closer to my nipple, which had raised in excited anticipation. His gaze was dark and intense, but I stayed still, waiting for his touch on my sensitive nub, even if it was over my clothes.

“Hold your witch’s hands above her head,” Mischief commanded Amadeus. “I rather think that she won’t be able to stay still for what comes next with Ramiel. I assure you that I never can.”

My breath hitched, as Amadeus raised his head to give me a single lick across my lips, before reaching for my wrists. I closed my eyes, settling back into the feathers and satin, whilst my skin tingled and I panted.

Suddenly, a silver magic trailed through the dark of the bedroom, singing to my own: Moon’s magic.

My eyes snapped open, and I jerked upright and free from Amadeus, as all sexy thoughts were chased away by a confused mix of relief, anxiety, and anger because Moon had come back to me but he’d also run from me, and I knew the consequences if I didn’t control him. My aunt had been clear on those.

Moon’s amber eyes glowed in the shadows, as he strolled forward with his hands in the pockets of a pair of white trousers. Where had he stolen the trousers and crisp white shirt from, since he’d been, you know, naked when he’d left me at the werewolf altar? Although he looked suspiciously like he was wearing one of the outfits from the Omega Training Center, as well as if he was trying to hide someone smaller behind him…a someone smaller who he’d smuggled out of the center.

I burst off the bed, at the same time as my crimson burst free, slamming Moon against the wall and holding him up like a
puppet. Behind me, I heard Mischief hollering, but the bed had snapped shut, holding the angels and Amadeus trapped in it like a satin mouth.

For once, I had something, for which to thank Zetta.

I was left facing a wolf who was even more adorable than Moon and I hadn’t thought that such a thing could even be possible. The Omega was a teenage version of Moon, who was dressed in the same all white outfit with a tumble of blond curls and russet ringed amber eyes that right now glared at me.

  What had Moon done?

For a wolf to cross out of Wolf Kingdom without the witches’ permission was punishable by death and so was to aid them. Moon had condemned both himself and this cute teenager, as well as all of us in this bedroom, if we didn’t return him before my aunt found out. It was another rule that sucked, but had my mistake been to trust my Charms, rather than to control them?

“No fair, you got busy without me.” Moon attempted to smirk, but his gaze was too anxious, as it darted between the younger Omega and me.

I scowled at Moon. “And I take it you picked something up, after you ditched me at our wedding?”

“Someone,” Moon hissed, although his expression softened, as he forced himself to smile at the teenage Omega.

“Moon says that you’ll allow me to say my secret name.” The Omega tilted up his chin with the same defiance as Moon had in the REJECT cell. “It’s Moth.”

My throat tightened at Moth’s bravery, even though I knew that I’d have to send him back. The glimpse that I’d had on the screens into the center made me certain that I didn’t want a teenager like this living somewhere, which used muzzles as teaching aides. But then, hadn’t Moon grown up there? And I so didn’t want to think about that.

In the witching heavens, was there any way that I could keep Moth here safe with me?

“I promise, you can always use your name with me, Moth,” I said gently, before my gaze hardened as I looked at Moon.

Why had he made me the bad guy? I mean, maybe the witches were the bad guys, but I’d just been getting to the good stuff on my Claiming night with Amadeus, and now Moon was making me choose whether to endanger my whole new family with an illegal wolf.

I couldn’t do that when I was the one who was meant to be policing the witch world against the wolves.

When my crimson banged Moon against the wall in frustration, he yelped. “What kind of asshole are you? Don’t you get what you’ve risked? I’m trying to prove my worthiness, but you’re dragging home a kid wolf and breaking the most serious law, you know, the one that’ll get us all executed?”

I’d been back in Oxford less than a week, but already I was certain that I’d never be able to live up to the legacy of my mom or whoever this legendary great-grandmother had been. I mean, it was kind of hard to do that when your Charm didn’t even respect you enough to stay by your side, tell you when he was about to launch a rescue mission (because I was sure that’s what this Great Escape from the center had been), or trust you with his secrets.

I’d never measured up in my uncle’s world either, although I’d proved myself there through my tech and magic genius. Without my cousins, I’d have been miserable. I bit my lip hard. Stella had insisted that I not call my cousins because I needed to leave behind the non-magicals. Did they miss me as much as I missed them?

“Stop your fussing, I knew the risks,” Moon gritted out, “sometimes you have to take them.”

I stormed towards him, as my red wound tighter around him. An ache bloomed in my chest. “Stella will break you and Ramiel, if she doesn’t kill us. Who knows what she’ll do to Amadeus?” I glanced at the bed, where my misfit pack were still struggling, caught in the bed. I felt like I was going to hurl at the thought of any of them belonging to Lux; it was weirdly unbearable that even her pretty bully brother Aquilo had to suffer at her hands. “These witches aren’t dicking around.”

Moon’s voice was more regal than I’d ever heard it, as he insisted, “Neither am I.”

I shivered, and even my shadows trembled. I knew that Moon wasn’t just any Omega: he was the Prince of the Wilds. But I hadn’t known it, until now.

I stroked my hand through his curls. “The House of Silver, Seasons, and Blood are ancient and powerful, although their traditions are harsh—”

“Aye right, traditions,” Moon mocked, although he trembled at my touch like he ached to be able to lean into it. “If I’d followed bastard tradition, then you’d have found me on that first day kneeling next to the other perfect Omegas. Tell me, would you’ve chosen me…wanted me…then?”

His scrutiny was suddenly too hot and sharp; I shrank from it.

  On all the spells in a witch’s tit, why couldn’t I lie better? “M-maybe, I mean, you don’t know…”

Moon snorted. “Goddess Moon! Our magic called out to each other, and that’s why you chose me. You can’t pretend that you don’t feel it, single skin, because I do.” For the first time, Moon hesitated, biting at his lip, before he murmured with more hope than certainty, “You need a wolf like me as an equal, and you need to be different than the other witches.”

  Holy hell, he was right.

I was desperate to nod and wind my shadows around him in warm caresses, rather than the cold hold that held him in paralysis, which would show him how right he was. But he’d risked everything by bringing Moth back into my home. If I was going to be protecting another wolf, I needed to know why, as well as that Moon understood the danger.

“Okay.” When I nodded, Moon finally stop torturing his lower lip with his teeth and sighed, until my hand tightened in his hair and his eyes widened. “But you taking Moth is like declaring war on both sides, which is exactly what I’m battling and suffering to stop.”

“Your daft self suffering?” Moon growled. “A decade safe in America as a spoiled rich kid…? Hold on, I think I can hear the violins…”

My jaw clenched. “My parents were murdered—”

“And how long will you use that as an excuse?”

Seriously, he didn’t just go there?

I gasped, raising my hand to slap the rebellious look off his face, when the small but surprisingly strong teenage Omega dived at me, hanging onto my raised hand grimly to hold me back.

“Please,” Moth whined, whilst his eyes glistened with tears, “don’t punish him because he rescued me. I’ll be good, I promise, or you can take me back to the center.”

“Nay, she can’t,” Moon barked in sudden panic, and I was shocked at the tears that’d sprung into his eyes as well. “By my hide, you know better than to try and protect me, Moth. Let me take my punishment like in the center. All that matters, is that you’re safe. Just…turn around and don’t watch.”

My guts roiled. How many times had Moon been punished and how much of an asshole did I now feel that I’d become the same as the Alphas at the center?

Moon had told me that you couldn’t simply say that you were a rebel but you had to act like one and he’d certainly shown that.

Would a rebel hurt her wolf, when he was simply trying to protect a teenage Omega, especially when this whole routine was so familiar to them that it made my crimson itch to blast every one of the Alpha dicks who worked in the center? Yet I couldn’t risk Moon being dosed with more Wolf Tamer or taken by Lux. How could I show him my control, without hurting him?

If I didn’t figure out a way to convince Moon of the danger, then he wouldn’t be the only one to face my aunt’s payback. I’d only just saved my Beta prince from starving, but Moon’s secret mission to save this new Omega could mean that my entire new pack burned.

  CHAPTER SIXTEEN

The moon shone like a silver cape through the window, across the angels and wolf trapped in the satin mouth of the bed, Moon paralyzed by my shadows against the wall, and caught Moth’s pearl-like tears in the corners of his eyes. They were all under my power, but I was as ensnared in this house and its lies as they were.

I slowly lowered my hand, so as not to startle Moth, before envelop
ing his trembling form gently in my arms. At last, the tears fell down his cheeks, and he sobbed. The sweet scent of ylang ylang wafted from his skin and hair, and I wondered why, when Moon had been washed in only cheap carbolic soap.

I rubbed Moth’s back, whilst I studied Moon, who’d tensed like I was about to turn the kid into stone next to the other wolf gargoyles…and I guess that I didn’t blame him.

“If I let you go from the crimson,” I eyed Moon warily, “do you promise to obey me?”

Moon drew in a harsh breath, before he forced himself to meet my gaze. “If you promise, furless, not to hurt my brother.”

My eyes widened, before I stared down at the top of Moth’s curly head.

  He was Moon’s brother…?

Honestly, Moon had landed us in serious trouble with Stella, but now I understood why he’d freed Moth from the center. I’d always wished that I wasn’t an only child because then there’d have been someone else besides me who’d have got the weirdness that was my life, and I’d have died to save my cousins, who’d sacrificed a lot to take me into their lives and stand up for me. So, how could I expect Moon to leave his brother behind in that center?

Yet a Charm was meant to work with his witch, rather than sneaking behind her back, right?

“You’re a prince of the Wilds?” I asked.

Moth nodded. “I’m being trained up to be a Charm.” Moth peeked at me through his thick lashes, whilst his lip trembled. “In case you reject Moon or…he’s killed. I’ll also be ready in time for your daughter.”

I’d forgotten how long the shifters lived. Plus, the sickening truth that they were being punished for crimes, which had occurred before even their birth. Why should my daughter (and hey, wasn’t everyone around here getting ahead of themselves because I hadn’t been ready for the commitment of a wedding, let alone a baby), be allowed to enslave this prince, just because centuries ago there’d been a war?

“I promise on my shadows that I won’t hurt your brother.” I arched my brow. “You’ll at least try to obey now?”
