“Fine,” giving the command to Mike and Joe not to shift, “they can redeem themselves by helping us get everyone home.” Hearing what I said, they made their way to Jensen’s prone body. Cassandra stayed on their heels in her wolf form, ready to attack if they tried to hurt anyone else. They carefully eased him off the ground and carried him down the trail. Cassandra followed them, ensuring they didn’t try anything stupid, like run off. Scanning the area for Kai, I realized she and Haven were still kneeling next to Tessa.

  Chapter 31

Tessa had shifted out of her wolf but was still unconscious. “Tessa!” I screamed running towards them, falling on my knees beside her, “What happened?” I asked Kai and Haven who were sitting beside her.

“She was fighting, with Mike… I think, and he threw her. She hit the barn hard and never got back up,” Kai was crying, “I am so sorry Dylan. I didn’t see him throw her. I…. I…”

“Stop. Kai this isn’t your fault,” I turned to Haven, “is she alive?” I couldn’t believe this; she was like my second mom, I needed her. “No, she’s alive. Barely,” Haven shifted on the ground and placed his hands on her chest. I reached out to grab his hands, “What are you doing? You’ll hurt her.”

“Stop Dylan,” his eyes were rimmed with tears as his hands glowed with magic. The magic weaved itself around her body as it flowed from his fingers. Haven pushed magic into her; I could see her chest rise and fall, as her breathing became steady again. Haven began to collapse, and I moved in time to catch him before he smashed his head on the ground. “Haven! Oh my God…. Roxy, what happened?”

“He’s fine Dylan,” Roxy came to kneel beside him, “he healed her injuries, and it took all his strength. I’ll vanish him to the house; you get Tessa, I can’t do more than one person. And they both need to rest and heal.”

Roxy placed her hand on Haven, vanishing them from the spot. Carter came to stand beside us; he scooped Tessa off the ground and carried her to the car. Cassandra had shifted back and was in the driver’s seat. I climbed in beside her as Carter laid Tessa next to Jensen in the back, and closed the door.

“We’ll drive them back to the house, can you and Carter make sure Joe, Dante, and Mike make it back to the house as well?” Cassandra asked Kai. She glanced at Carter and rolled her eyes. “Yeah, we can take the trail that leads to Dylan’s from here,” Kai answered, “Carter, you ok with that?”

“Yes, I’ll contact everyone else from my pack as we are heading over there,” he answered never taking his eyes of Kai. “Fine. Keep them chained up, we’ll see you there,” Cassandra backed the car down the road, making our way towards home.

“What if they don’t wake up?” I glanced at Jensen and Tessa in the back seat, “I can’t live without him or Tessa.”

“Let’s get them home Dylan,” Cassandra’s eyes were brimming with tears as she drove, “I know they’ll pull through – they have to.” It felt like the drive took an eternity, and neither Tessa nor Jensen woke up during the ride home.

We turned into my driveway and pulled down the long, wooded entrance. As the house came into view, Kai, Carter, and the three wolves responsible for this mess were waiting on us. My eyes widened as they took in the sight of another dozen people standing behind them. Some were staring at us, while a few were staring at the three men who were chained up. Cassandra parked the car, and we both jumped out, as Carter and Kai approached the car together.

“Here let us help you get them inside,” Carter moved to open the rear door, “Dylan, the people in my pack, are good people, they didn’t share the views of our former Alpha. They want to help you; they mean you no harm. I promise.” I stared into Carter’s eyes, “Ok. Please just help us get them into the house. We need to see why they won’t wake up.”

“Haley. Wait on us. Chris, help me get their Alpha in the house. Paul, you help Cassandra get Tessa.” Carter reached into the back seat and pulled Jensen out. Chris, one of his wolves, helped carry him into the house. Paul carried Tessa in behind us.

“Follow me,” I motioned to the guys, “You two can put Jensen in my room. Let’s put Tessa in my parent’s room.” I walked up the stairs pointing to my room, “Put him there,” I waved them into the room pointing towards the bed. “Paul, follow me, my parent's room is just down here.”

As I walked towards my parent’s room, I noticed Roxy sitting next to the guest bed. Haven was lying still with his eyes closed. I paused briefly, glancing at Roxy. “Paul, put her down in there?” I pointed towards the next open door, “I ‘m gonna check on Haven.” I was torn; I didn’t know where to go first. Jensen, Tessa, and Haven all needed me. It was such a mess.

  Chapter 32

“Roxy, how’s Haven? Has he woken up at all?” I walked in and stood at the edge of the bed. “Not yet, but that’s not unusual. When a witch expels that much magic, his life force is drained. He did that to save Tessa. Dylan, go to Tessa and Jensen. Haven will be fine; he needs sleep to heal,” she placed her hand on mine and smiled.

“He could have died, couldn’t he?” I tilted my head towards her. “Yeah… If he hadn’t stopped when he did, he would have pushed all his magic into her – giving away all his essence,” Roxy shook her head looking at Haven.

“I don’t know what to say. Tessa is like my second mother. If she had died….,” I shook the tears back. “Dylan, Haven wouldn’t have allowed that. She’ll be okay, and Haven will be too,” she stood and hugged me, “now check on Tessa and your mate.” She gave me a gentle shove. I leaned down to Haven and kissed him on the forehead. “Thank you, Haven,”

I walked to my parent’s room to find Paul sitting next to Tessa. He jumped up when I walked in, “I didn’t want to leave her alone,” he explained.

“You don’t have to explain. I’m grateful you came here to help us,” I placed my hand on his shoulder sitting next to him. “Yeah, well none of this would have happened if Dante hadn’t gone crazy. Look, we’re good people, and Carter’s a good leader. He always tried to get Dante to see that what he was doing was wrong. He should have been Alpha, not Dante,” Paul shook his head, “I wish we knew this was his plan. Mike and Joe are new enforcers; they’re young. Dante used his power to corrupt them, and now they have to pay for his mistakes.”

“Well, let’s figure out what to do with Dante. Mike and Joe seem remorseful, and we’ll have to see what the pack wants to do with them, I don’t want to see them wrongfully punished if they were forced... But right now, all I care about is Tessa and Jensen waking up,” I smiled and turned to Cassandra. “Dylan, I’m sorry. I’m gonna leave you two alone and find Carter. We ought to speak with the others about everything. Haley’s our pack healer – I’ll make sure she knows to come in here to check on Tessa.” He turned and walked out.

I grabbed Tessa’s hand and rubbed it, “Tessa, wake up. We can’t lose you too; I can’t lose you.” Sitting there for a few seconds longer, I brushed the hair out of her face and kissed her forehead. I grabbed my mom’s quilt and laid it over her. “I love you, Tessa,” as I was leaving, Haley walked in. “Dylan, I’ll check her over and do what I can.”

“Thank you,” I nodded as I walked into the hall I ran into Kai. “Hey, how is he?” I asked her. “He’s still unconscious. Go to him Dylan, I’ll sit with Tessa,” she walked towards my parent’s room, “he’s strong. He WILL wake up, I know it,” she patted my shoulder as she passed by.

I took a deep breath before going in; I feared what I would find waiting for me. Cassandra sat with her head on the mattress holding his hand. “Has he stirred at all?” I asked startling her. “No. All he does is lay there. He’s breathing normal, but he won’t respond to me. Here, sit her with him, maybe he will wake for you,” she stood and motioned the chair. I grabbed her into an embrace, “He has to wake up, I just found him,” I cried into her shoulder. “He will honey – have faith,” she released me from the hug, “I’ll go check on everyone else, and then speak with Carter about what happens next. Their pack is without an Alpha, a
nd technically you bested Dante. That means you’re in charge until you decide otherwise.”

“What?? I don’t want to be Alpha – Jensen’s the Alpha…Hell, make Carter their Alpha, I don’t care. All I want is him,” I pointed to Jensen laying on my bed. “I know honey. I’ll take care of it for now,” she turned and left the room.

Sitting down in the chair, I took his hand. He looked so peaceful, “Jensen, baby, please wake up,” I pleaded with him, kissing his hand, “I just found you, I can’t lose you. I’m tired of losing people I love.” I brushed the hair from his face and cupped his cheek.

“Jensen, please,” I leaned down and pressed my lips to his, resting my forehead against his, feeling his warm breath on my face. I couldn’t imagine life without him. Even though it had been a week, I felt like we had been part of each other for eternity. I discarded my clothes and shoes. I pulled back the covers and scooted in next to him, the cool sheets against my skin forced me to snuggle against his warm body. I laid my head on his shoulder and draped my arm over his chest.

“Jensen, I’m right here baby. Wake up, let me see your eyes and hear your voice,” I cried onto his bare chest. Roxy walked in, “How’s he doing?” she asked. I lifted my head, “still the same. He won’t wake up.”

“I talked to Haley, Clint’s pack healer. She said she can’t find any reason for him to still be unconscious. I can’t sense anything wrong with him either,” she shook her head, “He’ll wake up, I know he will, just give him some more time.” She smiled and walked out leaving us alone again. I kissed his cheek and rested my head on his shoulder again.

“I’m not leaving you until you wake up. I can’t live without you,” I closed my eyes. I laid there listening to his breathing. The sound of his breathing, moving in and out calmed me. It didn’t take long for the sound and his warm body, to lull me off to sleep.

  Chapter 33

I felt like a Mack truck had run me over. I blinked my eyes, realizing it was dark as I tried to figure out where I was. At first, I thought I was still being held a prisoner, but I moved realizing it was a person in my arms, not chains. I turned my head to find Dylan curled up against my shoulder. I blinked again, trying to make sure she was real, and not a dream.

The last thing I could remember was Dante ranting about revenge, and then Joe kicking my head. Feeling for the gash on my head, I winced as my fingers brushed against the tender spot. The hit was enough force to knock me out – I’d need to shift to heal fully. I exhaled and rubbed my hand down my face, looking down at Dylan. She’d obviously been crying, and her hair was a mess – she was beautiful. The door opened, and my mom walked in, leaving off the light.

“Jensen, you’re awake,” she rushed to the side of the bed. “Shhhhh… don’t wake her,” I whispered, “She looks so peaceful.”

“God, Jensen, we didn’t know if you would wake up?” she was crying as she touched me as if checking that I was real. “How long have I been here, and HOW did I get here? The last thing I remember is Dante and his two goons knocking me out after they threatened to take Dylan.”

“When we found out Dante had you, we came for you. It’s a long story; we had help…. which is something we will talk about after you’ve rested more. You’ve been unconscious for several hours. Don’t worry though; I’ve already called the school and told them we won’t be in, due to a family emergency.”

“Wait, it’s Monday?” I scratched my head. “Yeah. Like I said you’ve been unconscious for several hours. Get some more sleep Jensen; you need it. Dylan will be happy to know you’re awake. She hasn’t left your side since we brought you home. When she wakes up, tell her Tessa’s awake. She’ll want to know. I will let everyone know you’re ok, but to give you and your mate privacy. Come down to the kitchen when you’re ready, ok?” she spoke in a soft voice. “Ok, mom. Thank you, love you,” I waved as she pulled the door shut leaving Dylan and me alone once more.

I glanced at Dylan laying in my arms and shifted my weight rolling towards her. I laid there watching her sleep and wondered how I got so lucky to have her as my mate. She opened her eyes and stared at me, “Jensen?” blinking, trying to get her eyes to focus. “You’re awake,” tears streaming down her face.

“Baby, don’t cry. I’m all right. I’m right here, see?” I wiped the tears from her cheeks and pulled her into an embrace. “I thought you were gone,” she whimpered into my arms. Grabbing her chin, “Dylan, I’m right here. You didn’t lose me.” I leaned in and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around me and deepened the kiss, her forehead resting against mine as our lips parted.

“I was terrified; I can’t live without you,” she looked up at me through her tears. “I’m not going anywhere, baby... What happened, can you tell me about it?”

“Oh god, Jensen. Dante, the alpha from Flint Lake, had you chained up…. He said he planned to kill you. He wanted me and revenge for what happened 20 years ago. He’s crazy,” she sighed dropping her gaze from me. “Is he dead?” I asked her.

“No. He’s with Carter and some of the pack enforcers – they’re from Flint Lake too. The pack doesn’t agree with his beliefs though and came to help us... God, can we not talk about this, I’m so happy you’re awake, I wanna hold you….” She looked at herself and pulled away, “Shit, I’m a complete mess.”

“I know how to remedy that darling; I think we could both use a shower,” I moved out of the bed, scooping her in my arms. “Jensen, put me down I’m naked, and you just woke up from being unconscious. You shouldn’t be carrying me,” she tried pulling out of my reach. “Nothing would ever keep me from holding you,” I kissed her and walked to her bathroom.

  Chapter 34

Jensen carried me into the bathroom and kicked the door shut. He turned on the shower, as he set me on the counter. He spread my legs, stepping between them, pressing me against the mirror. “I love you,” he kissed me. He swept his tongue in my mouth. He stepped back breaking the kiss to strip his shirt off. I grabbed his shoulders pulling him into me as I kissed him.

“I need you,” I ran my hands down his chest grabbing at his pants, fumbling with the button. Getting it open, I slipped my hand down the front into his boxers. I wrapped my hand around his member, causing him to jerk his hips into me.

“You’re wearing too many clothes,” I told him, smiling as he pushed his pants down, springing his cock free.

He rubbed my pink folds, slipping a finger in, reaching for the sweet spot inside. “Oh God,” I moaned, arching my back as he licked my nipple. Continuing to stroke his erection, his tongue tangled with mine as our passion pulsed. He stepped back, slipping his finger from my apex, and pressing it between my lips urging me to taste myself. I sucked the sweet juices and moaned.

He pulled me to the edge of the counter, teasing my entrance with the head of his cock. Pinching my nipple as he swiftly buried himself inside. “Yes!” crying out in pleasure as he filled me.

“You feel so good baby,” he kissed my neck, his movements gentle as he moved in and out. I grabbed his neck, wrapping my legs around to pull him in deeper, “Jensen, oh god, harder baby!” Jensen lifted me off the counter; my legs wrapped firmly around him as he held tight to my ass. Holding on as he moved us into the shower, never breaking contact as he stayed buried deep inside.

“Fuck me, Jensen. I want to feel you,” moaning as I nipped his ear. Jensen trailed kisses down my neck and taking my nipple into his mouth. He swirled his tongue around, pulling it with his teeth. Pumping into me, groaning with each thrust as he filled me deeper. I scratched my nails down his back and called out his name each time he rammed into me.

He pulled out setting me down, “Let me taste you,” dropping to his knees as he pushed my legs apart. I palmed my breast looking at him, “Jensen, I want you,” I was breathless. “Oh, you’re going to get me, but first,” he rammed two fingers into me, his warm lips pressing against my clit. He ran his tongue between my folds and sucked on my tiny bud. Working his fingers while licking and biting me, b
ringing me to climax. Screaming out his name, he pulled his fingers from me, spinning me around to face the wall.

He stood, pressing against my back and kissed my neck. “I’m going to fuck your pussy now, and later I’ll fuck your sweet hole,” he licked my neck as he slid his finger in my ass, “is that ok darling?”

“Yes Jensen, fuck me, anything you want – just give it to me” I begged through my ragged breaths. The warm water felt so good running down my body with him pressed against me. He pushed my legs further apart with his knees. His cock was hard pressed against my back, and I reached around to grip it, wrapping my fingers around his girth. I needed to feel it buried in me. “Please Jensen, bury this inside me,” I jerked his cock in my hand.

He positioned himself behind me, pulling free of my grasp. The head of his cock at my opening, parting my folds, “Please” I moaned. He slipped his finger out and buried himself deep inside me, his balls tickling my thighs, and I moaned in ecstasy. “YES!” I urged him on. He licked and sucked on my neck while his cock continued to claim me. His breathing was getting harder.

“I’m so close baby, harder…,” I begged him, needing to feel him deeper. His need became more urgent, and his movements were faster and harder. “Oh, fuck baby, I can’t last much longer” he moaned in my ear. He reached around my stomach, tracing his way to my pussy and flicked his finger over my nub. That’s all it took, my insides tightened around his length, and I called out his name. As his seed spilled into me, I felt him sink his teeth into my neck, sending me over the edge as pleasure coursed through me.

We were both breathing hard when we came down from our orgasms. He rested his head on my shoulder and braced himself against the shower wall. I leaned against the wall between his arms. “That was incredible,” I turned into his embrace and leaned my head against him. “I love you so much,” I kissed his chest.
