When I first wrote Kiptyn in as a side character I wasn’t planning on giving him his own book. As I wrote Whisky Moments his story kept coming to me. It felt like his voice was shouting for m, needing attention. I was two thirds done his book, when covid-19 hit. The last third of the book took as much time as the first two thirds because of how the world was upheaved. It was hard to concentrate and find time to write when so many other things were happening in the world.
I love this story, and how different it is from my other books. Kiptyn is a much darker character than my others. I found myself needing a break from his book at certain points to write something much more fun and light hearted. This is how my next book was started, Crashing Hearts coming later this year. It is a beach town romance.
