Brotherhood In Blood Page 37

by J. E Hanson

  Alexander clears his throat. “Right now… we are trying to find Jeannie. She will answer those questions herself, when she is found alive.”

  “Is Jeannie pregnant with Christian's baby?” Another heartbreaking question fired at him.

  Alexander glances to the ground. A russet tear slides down his face. “I am not at liberty, to discuss their relationship at this time. I also wish to avoid commenting on the princess any further until she is recovered.”

  That tells me right there, Christian knows. I sent out as much love to him as possible. Khan grew bored, and turned the television cube off. He grabs me by my hair, and he throws me to the ground again.

  “I have another surprise in store for you! You’re going to love this one,” he exclaims. He motions to the door. “Bring the other one in!”

  A blonde woman traipses inside the room. The woman is none other than my older sister, Ava. I scream at her, trying to gain her attention, “Ava! AVA!”

  Ava whirls around me with an evil grin on her face. There’s something off about her. She traipses over to Khan. He jerks her close to him. I want to throw up. Khan slid his long and putrid tongue in her mouth. Reno makes sure I watch them in horror.

  “Ava! These are the same assholes, who murdered our parents! What the fuck are you doing?”

  Khan picks my sister up. She wraps her legs around his hips. “Do you want to watch me fuck your sister? I want to introduce you to my new wife, Ava Khan.”

  Tears are streaming down my cheeks. Khan announces after he practically screws my sister right in front of me. “We are going, to have a little wager. We need to see, who the better sister is. Is Ava… my blushing bride, or Jeannie… who is Christian's girlfriend the better woman? Who has the stronger woman? Place your bets now!”

  My sister changes in front of me. I knew instantly that she’s a vampire. She no longer wore the cute pastel outfits anymore. The sister in front of me is wearing jet-black with padded leather pants, and a ripped-up pale shirt.

  Reno takes me out of my collar. “If you try to flee, I will finish you. You need to fight your sister now. If you live, we might set you free.”

  Khan laughs sadistically. “Who is the better sister? Let the games begin!”

  They tape off a section for us to fight. Her fangs descend. My fangs already descended out of fear. I’m already at a disadvantage for the sheer strength and speed she has over me. If I were a full vampire, then the tables would be in my favor.

  “Ava… This is your little sister, Jeannie. I know you’re still in there. I won’t fight you, because sisters don’t fight, no matter how much they’re at odds,” I try to reason with her.

  “You don’t give a shit about me! You left me and went with those people! You never even looked for me. I’m so sick of you. Our parents chose you over me. Do you care to know why?” Ava screeches at me.

  “They knocked me out! How was I supposed to know that you were still around? The Enforcers looked for you. Our grandfather never gave up looking for you!”

  Ava hits me in the head, and I drop to the ground. “They are telling you some good tales. They never bothered to look for me, as you seem to think. Saber isn’t even my grandfather. He only recognizes you, because you’re his blood. I never mattered to him, and only you matter to him.”

  I quickly stood up and Ava runs at me.

  “That’s not true, and even if it is, I never once treated you as an adopted sister! I’ve always treated you as my only sister! I didn’t even know you were adopted either! You’re fighting with me over something that I never knew anything about!”

  I duck in time, for her to hit the wall. With her speed, she throws an unexpected uppercut. I crash hard into a brick wall. I jump back, and I have to fight her. I don’t want to, but she left me with no other choice. I jump over her, and hit her with a round kick. I made impact with her face. I don’t think she expected me to do that, and I slam her hard against the wall.

  “You really don’t want to do this! I will end your existence. I received training, to take you out now! Please stop, Ava!”

  Ava howls like a banshee, and she punches my jaw. Blood flew from my mouth. She makes impact with her round kick. I flew twenty feet into another wall. Ava picks me up, and she choke slams me through a wooden table. This knocks the air out of me.

  A familiar voice pops out of nowhere in a small glow. I notice that it’s Gabriel, and I want to cry. “How many are in the room with you? I tracked you down, for the guys to find you,” Gabriel whispers, while looking around.

  I can barely move my head, counting twenty, “I count twenty, but I’m not exactly sure,” I whisper back.

  With my last strength, I move behind Ava. Ava turns and I kick her hard in the jaw again. This knocks her off balance. In another attempt, to kick her again, she grabs my leg. She snaps my leg in half, yanks my hair back, and smashes my face hard against another table. She kicks me hard repeatedly in my stomach.

  “Please stop, Ava! I’m begging you, to not do this to me!”

  Ava laughs at me sadistically. There’s no way my unborn baby could survive this torture. I blacked out, after hearing a loud crash through the doors.

  ~~~***~~~
  The image changes into an emerald field of wildflowers. I lay in the emerald field broken and torn. The little girl appears, and she’s holding my head in her lap. Our daughter has tears of blood streaming down her cheeks. I try to get up, but I can’t.
  “DADDY!” the little girl screams out. I know she’s yelling for Christian. She rubs my head. “I’m so sorry mommy, but I have to go, but daddy is here. You will be okay, mommy. Daddy will take care of you now. I love you mommy, and I’m truly sorry. I can’t be with you two right now, goodbye mommy.”
  “Please, don’t go, Feather! I’m so sorry! I should have distracted my sister! I can’t lose you! If I lose you, it will kill me. Please Feather; just give me one more chance! Don’t leave me! I beg you, and I’m so sorry!”
  My bloody hand grips her dress as I beg her to stay.
  Feather cries tears of blood. “I love you enough mommy, to let you live. If you don’t live, I can’t live. I’m so sorry—mommy, but you need to be better. Daddy is here, to help you now. You’re safe with him.”
  I try to hold her tightly, and cry out for her to stay. I keep begging her not to go. The bright light blinds me, and it makes Feather disappear. I look around the emerald field, and scream for her. I beg her, to come back to me. I’m alone with nobody, and no child. My heart continues to break.
  Chapter 19
  Someone starts to shake me. I woke up, and Sam stands right over me. “Jeannie, it’s Sam, how badly are you hurt?”
  I stare at my broken body. I lay through a broken table with one of my legs bent backwards. My back hurts badly. “I don’t think I can move, Sam. She broke my leg. Ava kept kicking me in the stomach, and I think I lost my baby, Sam.”
  His face changes to shock with a few russet tears falling from his cheeks.
  “You will be okay. I’m sure your baby will be fine, sweetheart. Christian is fighting Reno right now, and Saber has Khan too.”
  Christian finds me, and he holds my head steady in his lap, while he cries tears of blood. “Fuck! Baby… please hold on! You have to drink my blood, Jeannie!”
  Christian bites into his wrist—and fed me.
  Sam tilts his head at Christian. “I thought you were fighting Reno.”
  “He fucking ran from me, and I just found you both. Thanks Sam, for finding her.”
  I took large gulps of his blood. Sam picks up his guns, and he leaves me with Christian.
  “I am so fucking sorry, baby! I am so fucking stupid! I will get you out of here! We can talk about our baby, when we get you home.”
  I sob in his arms. “I think I just lost her. She already told me goodbye a few minutes ago. I lost our baby, Chris!”
  Christian hugs me and sobs. The tears of blood fall from his cheeks. “I should have found you sooner. Our baby
is a fighter like her mommy. She will not leave us, and our baby has to still be alive!”
  Christian pulls me to his chest. I’m crying in torrents, and I already know she’s gone. My leg slowly heals, and then the rest of my wounds heal. After ten minutes, I’m able to stand up.
  “Are you sure you want to fight?”
  I nod yes. “I will kill Reno, and that’s what I intend to do. He murdered our baby, and he needs to pay!”
  I run in the same direction that Sam runs in. I’m so glad that he hands me my guns, because rogues are cornering Ian. One, by one, I shot the rogues down like water balloons. Ian notices me standing there with my wounds still healing.
  Ian gawks at me. “How about we go kick some ass, chick?”
  I cock my guns back. “That sounds like an excellent idea. It is time for some fucking mutiny.”
  Ian grins at me. “That’s my girl!”
  Ian and I start running through the corridors together. I use my sense of smell. We chase after Reno, and I want to end his existence. I caught him trying to escape out a vent, but my aim is spot on. I shot Reno in the arm, and he screams out.
  Reno turns around, to see who shot him. “Oh, it’s just you… have you had enough? Oh, what are you going to do? Go play with your fucking boyfriend's balls!”
  Sam kills two rogues. Christian catches up to where we are. I do a round kick, and hit Reno straight in the chin. I level him this time. “You will not escape this time!” I yell at him.
  Reno stands up, and he throws my guns down the corridor. At the last minute, he kicks me hard, and he sends me into another wall. I notice a gold dagger on the ground. I pick it up and hide it. Reno tosses Ian and Sam like rag dolls. After he finishes tossing them, he struts over to me and picks me up by my throat.
  Ten rogues trapped Christian. He notices me and screams. “FUCK NO! SAM, PLEASE HELP HER!”
  I give Reno a goofy smile, and stare directly at him. “Have a nice time in hell you son of a bitch!”
  The gold dagger plunges directly into his death maker. Reno peers at me with horror. Within two seconds, he blew up, just as many of his followers have in the past. His hair and body disintegrates right in front of me.
  Christian reaches me with relief coursing through his blood. “I thought you were done for! I am so happy it is finally over with Reno.”
  I ignore him, but I help Ian with the rogues that are choking him. Sam relaxes, after he notices that I’m okay. I nod at him, and disappear through another corridor. Christian handles a room full of rogues. I want Khan badly. A rogue jumps Ian, and I shoot at the rogue, refusing to stop. I try to keep an eye out for my sister, but she must have left.
  Ian smiles at me. “We should be saving you. Not the other way around!”
  “I want to kill these bastards badly! The fewer rogues we have, the better off we are.”
  We kill all of Khan's twelve Enforcers, and their girlfriends’ existences end too. My cruelty starts to show. I want my sister dead, and I will do anything to kill her. I check on all the Enforcers. Alexander and my Papa cornered Khan, but Khan threw a silver bomb at them. I jump over top of Papa just in time, and cover us with a shield that’s laying on the ground.
  “I don’t know how to thank you, my granddaughter. Why did you save me, and not Alexander?” Papa asks me.
  I peer over, and notice that Ian is pulling shards of silver from Alexander's chest. Christian must have felt his brother, because he’s screaming.
  “We are family, and I had to make a choice. I need you more than ever. Alexander’s hit, but he will be okay. We are finally getting to know each other. I have no intentions of taking, or even wanting your throne at this time. I will see if I can help Alex, since you’re okay.”
  Alexander is writhing in pain. I hold his head in my lap. Ian rips open Alexander’s charcoal leather jacket, and Alexander's charcoal leather vest. There are so many shards of silver in his chest. One of the shards is less than an inch from his death maker. Tommy rushes over, to see the horror. He takes out a pair of tweezers from the medic case.
  “I’m so sorry, Alexander! I’m so sorry for being so stupid!”
  “I did what I wanted to do. You are alive, and that is what matters. It is an honor to have met you. I am sure Chris and you, will make an amazing baby together. I am sorry that I have to depart. I wanted to see what my new niece—or nephew looks like, and whose temper he—or she will have. I have my money on you.”
  “That’s crazy talk! I need you to stay alive, Alex! You have made it this far, and I will be damned, if your existence ends over me. I love you too much, as my brother, to let you go this soon!”
  Alex tries to laugh, but the silver makes him even sicker.
  Tommy hands Erik a pair of tweezers, but he’s shaking too bad.
  “I don’t want to end his existence! Will someone else take the shard out?” Erik asks, and he’s freaking out.
  The Enforcers gather around us, after killing all the rogues they could find.
  Tommy yells, “I need someone with steady hands! Any small shake could kill him. Can any of you step up to the fucking plate to save him? Time is running out, and his body suffers from silver poisoning. He needs this shard out as soon as possible.”
  Erik cries tears of blood. “I’m so sorry! I’m so fucking sorry! I can’t do this!”
  Alexander closes his eyes. “I understand, Erik. You have been an excellent progeny. You are an exceptional man, and I left you all my worldly possessions. You deserve nothing but the best.”
  They have to hold Christian down, because he’s too erratic, to handle his brother. Papa and Charlie hold Christian tightly.
  I grab the tweezers from Erik, and turn to him. “Let me be the bad guy. I won’t let you take the fall for this. This is my entire fault anyway. If I weren’t so stupid and prideful, none of us would be here right now. This whole thing will rest on my shoulders. You can hold me responsible for this. I should have kept Ian with me that night. Allow me, Erik.”
  Tommy yells and holds Alexander down. “I don’t care who does it. Alexander is losing an excessive amount of blood. He will die, if that shard remains in his chest any longer!”
  Zane pulls out a flashlight. He sticks it over Alexander's injury. I found a bottle of water, and pour it over his wound.
  Alexander reminds me, “I love you, sis. Please remember our trust agreement. I will give you my trust until you break it.”
  I know he’s joking, and I have to chuckle at his joke. I carefully pull his skin back to see where it’s at in his chest. The shard is embedded deep inside. I pour more water into the wound. I found a small piece of silver shinning. I carefully take out the tweezers, and with careful precision, I grab the shard. I take a deep breath, because this will either end his existence—or keep him here. The piece is close to where his heart used to be. The shard is larger than what I anticipate. I take a deep breath, and pull the shard out. It drops in the dish next to him. We wait a few seconds, to see if he will turn into a water balloon. His wounds start to heal on their own. Everyone breathes a huge sigh of relief. Papa and Charlie release Christian.
  Christian hugs me tightly. “Thank you, for saving my brother. You have no idea what you have done for us.”
  Tommy rolls Alexander on his side, to find out why he isn’t standing up. Tommy yells at everyone, “I have more shards, but it’s in his ass.”
  Alexander seems embarrassed.
  “I will have to pull out more shards,” I inform Alexander.
  Tommy points at his ass. “You’re on your own on this one. I don’t believe in touching another man's ass.”
  Louie smacks Tommy. “You’re a fucking asshole! This is for his existence!”
  Tommy snarls at Louie. “Hit me again bitch, and I will hang your ass on a pole!”
  Louie’s fangs descend. “Go ahead, and say it you religious bigot!”
  Charlie stops the fight. “Come on, chaps! This isn’t the time for a bloody fight! Save your shit for the castl
e!”
  “Take off his pants, and I will do it,” I ordered the others.
  Christian takes his shirt off, to cover Alexander's cock, which I’ve already seen his too. Erik pulls Alexander's pants down for me. Those shards are the last ones, to take out of his body. They turn his hips to me. I know why they’re identical twins now. Alexander's ass looks no different from Christian's ass. I have to place my hand on his ass, to pull out the shards. The only way that I know all the shards are out, is when his wounds start to heal. I pluck out the last twenty shards. Tommy gives Alexander an emergency blood pack to replenish his blood.
  Christian keeps worshiping me, for saving his brother.
  Leo enters the large area with Joey and Gabriel. “We need to leave. This place is set to blow in precisely five minutes,” Leo explains.
  Christian throws his older brother over his shoulder, since Alexander is still too weak from the silver poisoning.
  Ian picks me up and I argue, “I can walk, Ian.”
  “Can you fly? I don’t think so! Enjoy the ride, Princess.” Ian argues with me.
  We bust through the oak doors, and try to find a window. The Enforcers bitch about the lack of windows in this castle.
  “You think they would put windows in this bloody place!” Brannon groans.
  I direct them to the tower that I was in. “We can go to the tower. It is straight up that staircase.”
  We flew upstairs and in the tower. There’s a large grate right above us. Leo and Sam spring into action and release the grate. The grate pops off with two minutes to spare. They wait until Ian pulls me out first. Papa is right behind me. Christian and Alexander are the last ones, to exit with one-minute left.
  We make it out in time, to hear the smashing of bricks. I glance back, to see fire digesting the gruesome castle. I hold on tightly to Ian's neck, and we barely escape. Now, we have another problem. We’re not in Meropis and we’re in Romania. I recognize the other castle in the distance. I have seen that same castle in my history class a dozen times. Ironically, I did a school report on Vlad the Impaler. I shudder to think of his cruelty to his fellow man, and enemies. He’s the man, who impaled them on posts, from their anal cavities through their mouths. It is estimated or rumored that he killed ten to forty thousand people this way. Julius Khan looks exactly like Vlad from the paintings.
