A big grateful hug goes out to the magnificent team at Penguin – I am so very proud to be writing for such a supportive publishing house. To my publisher, Belinda Byrne, my editor, Arwen Summers, and to Dianne Biviano, my publicist, for your endless dedication. I wouldn’t be where I am today, fulfilling my dream, without all of you believing in me.

To my magnificent hubby and best mate, Drew: thank you for understanding my need to be glued to the computer for days – with unruly hair and still in my pyjamas – and for not having me committed when I talk about the voices of all the characters in my head! You are the most loving and caring husband any woman could wish for. I’m so blessed to be sharing my life with you.

To Chloe Rose, my darling little girl, for bringing a smile to my face whenever you’re around, and filling my life with joy. And for always yelling excitedly in the middle of a store when you spot my book on the shelf – even when I am sometimes trying to remain incognito. You are beautiful, inside and out.

To my inspirational mum, Gaye, for forever being my sounding board, my friend and the best mother in the world. Your endless belief in me drives me forward and gives me the confidence to step into the unknown.

To my wonderful dad, John, I am honoured that you spent an entire day reading my first book, Rosalee Station, relishing each and every word. Considering you never read, that’s a huge feat!

To Aunty Kulsoom, my proofreader; what a wonderful woman you are. Hurry up and move up north so I can have you around all the time.

To my stepdad, Trevor, for teaching me to always look on the positive side of life, and instilling in me the confidence to follow my dreams.

To my extended family in the UK: Rich, Sharon, Roy, Sue, Ollie, Sam, Sally, Owen, Harry, Norris, Pete, Emma, Stewart, Izzy and Will. Cheers for your constant support. I wish we didn’t live on opposite sides of the world.

To my sister-in-law, Hayley, and my brother, Kain; thank you for babysitting on the many occasions where I needed peace and quiet to write. You are both stars!

To my darling friend, Jo, for being the amazing woman that you are. You love unconditionally and are the most kind, thoughtful and considerate person I have ever met. You inspire my writing in so many different ways. I think you are remarkable and I feel so very privileged to call you my friend.

To my cherished mate, Kirsty, for being there through all my ups and downs and never expecting anything in return. I am forever grateful for your friendship. Thanks for diligently reading the very first draft of Jacaranda and giving me some great ideas for the storyline.

To my longtime friend, Tia, thank you for happy dancing with me through each and every high point of my writing journey.

To my dear friend Gail, you are so encouraging of my writing and for that I thank you.

To Kathy and Fred; thank you for playing a part in Jacaranda. We couldn’t wish for better neighbours.

A big thank you to a very special lady, Fiona Stanford, for your unconditional support in so many various ways; you’re one in a million.

And finally, but most essentially, thanks to you, the reader. It is you who keeps my dream alive by reading my novels. I am eternally grateful for your support. I hope my country storytelling intensifies your passion for this captivating land down under, Australia.
