Once upstairs, Jessie headed directly for the pool tables to the left side of the stairs. Pool tables took up nearly half of the open space on this floor. To the right side of the stairs, surrounded by high tables filling up with patrons, was a sort of balcony overlooking the large circular dance floor below. Most of the pool tables were already in use.
Jessie herded Jordan over to the pool table in the back corner where Jordan could see four men, including Ryan and Ryder, leaning back against the side bar against the wall of the club. They were talking quietly, drinking their beers and keeping an eye on the fifth man scoping out his shot at the pool table. This was the man Jordan had had such a pussy-clenching reaction to. As Jordan watched raptly, he leaned over the pool table and took his shot. Jordan noticed how his jeans showcased his nice, tight ass and hard thighs, which looked just as yummy from behind as they did from the front. The muscles in his arms tensed and flexed as he pulled back the cue to take his shot. Sinking the shot, he proceeded to saunter to the sidebar and pick up a beer and take a long draw on it. The others razzed him about running the table.
As the women approached, the brothers looked up and smiled as they saw Jessie. Their questioning gazes landed on Jordan. Jordan thought she saw a spark of interest in two of the men’s eyes. One of them was her hottie. Jessie proceeded to introduce the three brothers that Jordan had not met yet. The brother that walked in with Taylor was indeed introduced as Levi. The brother with the shortly trimmed moustache and goatee, that Jordan had thought had shown a spark of interest, was introduced as Dillon, who Jordan knew to be the veterinarian for the Ranch.
Finally, Jessie focused her attention on the tall hunk of maleness that held Jordan’s undivided interest. Jessie introduced him as Xander. Jordan knew Xander was the oldest brother and in charge of the entire ranch operation. No wonder he seemed so intense! Jessie knew he was only thirty-four years old and already ran the day-to-day operations of the entire ranch. Jordan looked into his intense emerald-green eyes and saw the flame of interest quickly change into a neutral look of wariness as Jessie explained who she was. Looks like big brother didn't want to be interested in little sister’s friend, even if she was twenty-six years old.
They all chatted for a few minutes, making small talk. Jessie shared with the brothers that Jordan had already found a house to rent several blocks from the club and was moving in on Monday. Ryder introduced Jordan as the club’s newest bartender. Jessie then half-jokingly said that they should get back downstairs or the other women would all come upstairs to get a look at the Chisholm eye candy. Besides, she noted, the dancing would be starting soon, and Jordan had to learn how to two-step. The men wished them a good night, and Dillon quietly volunteered to be one of Jordan’s dance instructors after the pool game was finished around 9:00 p.m. Jordan said she was looking forward to it and followed Jessie away from the pool tables and down the stairs, but not before catching an annoyed glint in Xander’s eyes as he looked at Dillon. Hmmmm. Maybe not so disinterested after all.
The DJ was setting up his station on the right side of the dance floor near the wall when Jessie and Jordan rejoined the women at their table. The club was filling up fast. It looked like Jordan would be hopping on the weekends once she started working at the club. Good. Jordan loved working the bar when it was busy. There were some cowboys milling around their table when they returned, talking to the women seated there. Jordan got her fair share of speculative and flirtatious glances, especially when she was introduced as Jessie’s friend from New York City. Jordan hoped she would get a chance to get to know Xander soon.
Chapter 3
Upstairs, Xander contemplated getting to know the black-haired beauty that had caught his eye when he first walked into the club tonight. His first impulse was to turn around and go home so he could sketch the woman in charcoal. He squelched that impulse. He was here to spend time with his brothers and to take care of their weekly trouncing at pool. He couldn't believe that Ryan and Ryder were such piss-poor pool players. For god’s sake, they had fourteen pool tables in their club. Didn’t they ever play when he wasn’t there to take their money? Sure, he had a table at his own house, but he really didn’t play all that often, just on the rare occasions that one of his friends or brothers was over to supper or to barbecue and use his swimming pool.
As he had walked into the club, he swept his gaze over the patrons inside the club and his eyes had been pulled like a moth to a flame to the beautiful woman at his sister’s normal Friday-night table. He hadn't recognized her as one of his sister’s usual crowd. He thought she must be a friend of one of the other women or visiting from out of town.
He was inexplicably drawn to the petite beauty. He hadn't been this affected by a woman for a long time. She wasn't his usual type—tall, blonde, lithe, and buxom. Instead, Jordan was maybe a foot shorter than his six-foot-three frame and had curves in all the right places. Perfect breasts. Her hair was raven black and hung down freely to her ass. An ass, by the way, which he could tell through the skirt she had on, was high, tight and full. She had moss-green eyes with long, thick black lashes and didn’t use much makeup. She didn’t need it with her exotic, olive-toned complexion. He couldn’t remember when he had last dated a woman who used so little makeup. Jordan had a lively spark in her eyes and he thought he saw a flicker of interest in him before she looked away when she saw him watching her. She looked strangely worldly, yet shy and vulnerable, too. No, not his type at all. So why was he so interested?
Xander’s interest cooled further once he learned she had a personal relationship with Jessie. He knew Jessie wouldn’t appreciate him dating her best friend. He didn’t want to piss off his younger sister. It was just not worth the trouble she could create at home, and at the office, for his usual quick tumble. Now he knew why Jessie had taken the day off on Thursday. She’d probably gone to pick Jordan up at the airport in Corpus Christi.
Anyway, Xander wasn’t lacking for female companionship. He dated women who were experienced and knew the score. He never promised these women anything, and therefore they had no reason to be let down when he didn’t deliver more than a few dinners, some dancing, and a lot of sexual release. In fact, he had a date with Stephanie Blake tomorrow night that should take his mind off of his little sister’s friend and give him some relief from this unwanted attraction to his little-sister’s friend.
Xander was pulled from his thoughts by the laughter and jeering of his brothers as they made fun of him for daydreaming. It was his turn, and he had been standing there staring into space. Flipping them off, he lined up his shot and sunk it, winning the game. They groaned good-naturedly and ponied up his winnings. Racking the balls, he broke for the next game and proceeded to wipe the table with them again.
When the pool game broke up at 9:00 p.m., Xander hurried down the stairs and left the club without looking at the table where he knew his sister and her friend were seated. He headed home to his house on the Ranch. It had been a long week, and he was ready for some time in his hot tub. As he was leaving, he noticed Dillon heading downstairs toward his sister’s table. He had thought his brother had shown more than a passing interest in Jordan when Jessie had introduced them. Better him than me, thought Xander.
Xander got home, stepped into a hot shower, and turned the cold water on after about a minute. He could not get Jordan out of his head. He ended up jacking off in the shower fantasizing about Jordan being wet and willing under him. He dried off from his shower and, forgoing the hot tub, crawled naked into bed.

Jordan, despite being out on the dance floor, knew exactly when Xander left the club. She was disappointed, but resigned, that he had not sought her out. She looked up at her current dance partner, a nice-looking blond cowboy named Mike, and tried not to step on his feet as he tried to show her the finer points of the two-step. Dillon cut in, and they danced for a couple of dances. He acted like he wanted to ask her out, but didn’t. He simply told her he’d had a good time and hoped to
do it again sometime. He left around midnight. Jordan didn't know what she would do if Dillon asked her out. He wasn't the Chisholm brother that she was interested in. Unfortunately, the one she was interested in didn't seem interested in her. She was sad about that. She did not want to hurt Dillon’s feelings by refusing a date or anything, but she didn’t want to lead him on in any way either.
After a few more margaritas and many more dances later, Jessie and Jordan left the club around 1:00 a.m., just before the club closed, and headed back to the Ranch. Jessie had elected herself as designated driver so that Jordan could enjoy herself on her first official night out in Deseo. With a buzz still in her system, but by no means drunk, Jordan brushed her teeth, washed off the little bit of makeup she wore, and shrugged off her clothes. She tied her hair back into a loose ponytail at her neck and crawled naked into bed. Tomorrow, or rather today, would be a busy day. Thinking of Xander, her body tingled in new and exciting places.
Chapter 4
Saturday morning, Jordan got up around 8:30 a.m., showered and got dressed in her one clean pair of jeans and top. Jessie was not awake yet, so Jordan made two cups of coffee with Jessie’s Keurig single-serving coffee maker. She loved this thing. She could have a different kind of coffee every morning. She had to get herself one of these. She added sweetener and creamer to both and walked down the hall to Jessie’s bedroom. She knocked on the bottom of the door with her foot and Jessie called out groggily for her to come in. She gave Jessie the coffee cup with the real sugar and kept the other one for herself. Jessie thanked her for the coffee and asked her what was on the agenda for the day. Jordan replied that she wanted to get into town and do some shopping for her new house. Jessie quickly showered, and the women each had some toast for breakfast then were on their way.
The women went to a used-furniture store where Jordan picked out several lamps. All the rest of the furniture was staying at the house for now, so Jordan only needed things like sheets for the bed and towels.
The next stop was the Walmart at the edge of town. Jessie knew her well. Jordan picked out bedding and some good-quality towels and washcloths in a sage-green color, along with a shower curtain and liner. They went to the housewares department where Jordan picked up a Keurig single-serve coffeemaker like Jessie had and a toaster.
The house had a built-in microwave, dishwasher, stove, and fridge. Jordan found a set of dishes on sale and bought a flatware set along with a good set of knives. Jordan loved to cook. It was an extension of her creative nature, and she loved making her own concoctions which, generally speaking, turned out well worth the effort. She bought a couple of good-quality pots and pans that she could add to as her budget allowed.
In the women’s department, Jordan picked out three pairs of jeans, primarily for work, a couple of tops, a pair of tennis shoes, a black pair of walking shoes, and a pair of strappy sandals. All employees at the club wore embroidered polo shirts that Chaps & Spurs would provide, jeans, and black walking shoes. Jordan also remembered to pick up a nightgown and some underthings. Jordan had a weakness for pretty lingerie and figured she'd go to one of the department stores sometime next week to pick out a few things. The rest of her clothes shopping she would do at the local secondhand store. Jordan was frugal with her money. Her mother had taught her well. She didn’t see how spending money on brand-new skirts, shorts, and other clothing would be worth it when she could find perfectly good things at the secondhand store. As a general rule, Jordan preferred wearing skirts. She liked skirts that floated around her legs and came to just above her knees. She knew she had nice legs and liked to show them off. She felt they were one of her best features.
Jessie insisted on going to the Body Boutique. Jessie got all of her scented powders, shower gels and soaps, lotions, shampoos, and conditioners at this store. Her favorite scent was cucumber-melon, while Jordan absolutely loved the lilac scent. Jessie had gotten Jordan hooked on the Body Boutique while they were still in college. She had given her several lilac-scented products for her birthday. Once Jordan had let on that she loved the products, Jessie had continued to replace her supply of the scented items, despite Jordan’s objections. This practice had continued even after Jordan had to leave school to take care of her mom. Today, Jessie insisted on buying Jordan a full set of lilac-scented product as a “Welcome to Texas” present. Jordan laughed and accepted graciously, knowing it was pointless to argue with her friend.
Jordan didn't need to get anything else until she actually moved into the rental house on Monday. She did need to get a car, but wanted Jessie to speak with her brothers to find out where she could get the best deal. Jessie immediately called Xander, who recommended Hal’s Used Cars at the edge of town. After finding out Jordan’s price range, Xander told Jessie he would give Hal, Jr. a call himself to tell them Jordan was coming in.
Back at Jessie’s place, the women made a lunch of tomato salad and turkey sandwiches with sweet iced tea. Jordan got on Jessie’s computer and ordered a new potter’s wheel, a medium-sized kiln, clay, and assorted other items she would need in throwing and glazing her pottery. With all her good buys, her budget was such that she sprang for the rush delivery and expected the delivery to be on Tuesday or Wednesday. Besides, her hands were itching to sink into the clay again.
Saturday night Jessie had a date she had made before she knew Jordan would be moving in with her. Jordan talked her into keeping the date and told her she just wanted to stay at the house, watch some television, and relax. She’d had a long day and just wanted to rest now that so much had been sorted out. Jordan made it an early night. She fell into a deep sleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow that night and dreamed of Xander. Her dreams were erotic and she woke up Sunday morning aching in a way she never had before.

Xander jerked open the button and unzipped his pants just far enough to free his straining cock. He bent the lovely blonde over the chair’s low back and pushed the skirt of her dress up and over her ass cheeks. He yanked her black G-string to down around her knees. Driven by her urgent whimpers, he grabbed the condom package from his back pocket, ripped it open with his teeth, and drew the condom over his rock-hard cock. Grabbing her by the hips, he forced her legs wider apart and speared her pussy with a single hard thrust.
Oh, hell yeah.
Xander began to thrust his hard length in and out of her wet cunt over and over again. All he was aware of was the throbbing ache in his cock and his need for the sweet release of orgasm. Pumping hard into her pussy, he heard her scream in ecstasy then let himself follow her into oblivion, pumping a few more times as his cock repeatedly spewed his cum into the condom. He fell, spent, on her back as he gasped for air.
“God, Xander, it’s so good between us,” she said breathlessly.
Xander came back to himself and realized that it was not a petite, black-haired beauty struggling for breath underneath him. Instead, it was a tall, striking blonde named Stephanie Blake.
After long moments, Xander stood upright again and abruptly withdrew his cock from her clutching pussy. Walking to the bathroom, he peeled off the condom and threw it into the trash. He wiped himself off and began to wash his hands in the bathroom sink when a movement in the doorway drew his attention. Stephanie stood there, flushed from her orgasm and still disheveled from their romp. “Why don’t you stay over tonight?” she suggested.
“Not going to happen, honey. You know that,” replied Xander.
Stephanie changed her tactic, now going for seduction. “We could do it again. Actually take our clothes off this time and maybe use my bed.”
Before Friday night, Xander would have taken her up on her offer, at least about the more-sex part. He wouldn’t have stayed the night, though. He never spent the night. Not since…Instead, he zipped and buttoned his pants, buckling his belt as he brushed past Stephanie and out of the bathroom, moving quickly toward the front door. Opening the door, he called back over his shoulder, “I’ll call you.” He knew he wouldn’t.
On Sunday morning, Xander woke up before dawn after dreaming of Jordan naked beneath him, writhing in ecstasy. He had the hard-on from hell and needed some relief. He got up, got into the shower, and jacked off under the warm water. He dressed in his riding leathers. He needed a ride to clear his head. He opened the garage door and stalked out the door to get on his 2000 Fatboy. Maybe he would stop by and talk to his parents, Alex and Cassie Chisholm, after he took a ride on his Harley. The Harley was a sweet ride. Talking to his mom always made him feel better. Besides, it was Sunday. He could get a good meal out of it if he stopped by. He couldn't stop thinking about Jordan and what she was doing this morning. He’d love to take her for a ride on his Harley and feel those thighs of hers wrapped around his hips, with her breasts rubbing against his back.

Jordan woke up early on Sunday morning, showered, dressed, and padded into the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee. Kenyan roast this morning. Jessie was still in bed, and Jordan let her sleep, since she hadn't heard her when she got home last night, or this morning, from her date. She took her cup of coffee and went out to the porch and settled into the swing. It was going to be another clear, sunny day. It would probably get hot later, but right now it was perfect. As she sat on the swing, listening to the sounds of the Ranch going on all around her, she thought she heard the distinctive growl of a Harley. She couldn’t see one anywhere, and after a couple of minutes, the sound was eaten up by the other sounds of the awakening ranch. Jordan just sat there enjoying the peace and quiet that she could never quite find in New York as she waited for Jessie to wake up.
