Lies, Lies, Lies

  “What did you do to Gina?” Elsa asked Carlito.

  “I didn’t do anything,” Carlito answered.

  “So why was she not talking to you?”

  “I don’t know,” Carlito insisted. Carlito got up to leave, Elsa pulled him, come to my room this afternoon. “Okay, I will see you later,” Carlito answered and kissed her on the cheeks.

  After breakfast Carlito snuck into Gina’s room, she was sitting on a couch when Carlito walked into her bedroom, he lifted her up and she screamed laughing, “Leave me alone.” He put her on the bed and kissed her, “I couldn’t leave Andreiá yesterday, and I kind of fell asleep.”

  “Just hold me, that’s all I want from you right now,” Gina said. Carlito tickled her before holding her, they cuddled until they dozed off. About two hours later, Carlito woke up and left Gina’s room, he looked round and snuck into Elsa’s room.

  “I’ve been waiting for you,” Elsa said.

  “Sorry, I took a walk,” Carlito lied.

  The next day Emilio knocked on Elsa’s door, “Who is it?” Elsa asked.

  “It’s me Emilio.” Elsa opened the door and let him in, Emilio had a bunch of roses, a box of chocolates and a card, he gave them to Elsa.

  “It’s not my birthday,” Elsa said.

  “This is to say sorry for being too pushy, and for trying to kiss you.”

  “Thank you Emilio, but please no more gifts, let’s be friends and see if there is going to be anything between us,” Elsa collected the gifts and hugged Emilio.

  “If you need anything let me know,” Emilio said as he turned and left Elsa’s room.

  That afternoon they were all in the sitting area watching a movie, Carlito and Andreiá were cuddled up; Gina, Elsa, Emilio and Greg all sat down enjoying a movie, when Greg suddenly got up, “I’m sorry I tried to kiss you the other day,” Greg said staring at Elsa.

  Elsa was shocked, “What are you doing?” Elsa asked.

  “Let me finish,” Greg answered, “but I want everybody here to know that I really like Elsa and I want her to give me a chance, I want to be her boyfriend.”

  Elsa covered her face; Emilio was shocked and became furious, like Greg was trying to take his woman; Gina could not shut her mouth; Carlito swallowed his saliva; only Andreiá said, “That is so sweet.” Elsa got up and pulled Greg out of the sitting area. “Greg, I told you I can’t do this now, please just respect what I want,” Elsa pleaded.

  “Okay, I respect your decision,” Greg agreed, they both walked back to the sitting area.

  “Are you both a couple now?” Andreiá asked excited.

  “No Andreiá, we are still just friends,” Elsa answered. Emilio aired a sigh of relief.

  Elsa woke up the next morning had a shower, and decided to go to the mall, but she didn’t want to go alone. ‘I will ask Gina if she will go to the mall with me,’ she thought to herself, ‘it will be fun to leave the house.’ She got dressed and went to Gina’s room, and was about to knock on the door when she heard noises from Gina’s room, like moaning noises, ‘is Gina seeing someone in the house?’ Elsa thought to herself. Elsa tried to open Gina’s door gently to spy on her, she was curious to know who Gina was seeing secretly, but the door was locked. Elsa remembered one part of her training, removed a pin from her hair and used it to unlock the door. She opened the door gently and peeped inside the room; to her dismay, she saw Carlito on top of Gina. Elsa held her breath and gently shut the door, she rushed back to her room and cuddled up on the couch, ‘how can Carlito be seeing three women in one house,’ she thought to herself, she was mad at herself.

  About two hours later Elsa had a knock on her door, “Who is it?” she asked.

  “It’s me Carlito.” Elsa had an irate look on her face, she stood behind the door, and opened the door.

  Carlito walked in, “Elsa where are you?” he asked. He peeked behind the door, immediately he saw Elsa, she hit Carlito hard on the throat. He fell to the ground and began to choke, Carlito held his throat, he was choking and couldn’t speak. “How can you be sleeping with three of us together?” Elsa said, watching Carlito choke. Carlito passed out after about five minutes.

  When Carlito opened his eyes and couldn’t move, he noticed that he had been tied to a chair, Elsa was sitting on a couch in front of him. “Elsa, what is the meaning of all this?” Carlito asked, furious.

  “So you have been sleeping with your girlfriend Andreiá, Gina and myself, do you think that makes any sense?” Elsa asked.

  “I thought you knew, since you knew about my girlfriend,” Carlito replied.

  “So you think that justifies your action! So does Gina know about me?” Elsa asked.

  Carlito refused to answer, Elsa got up and slapped Carlito, “Answer me!” she shouted.

  “No she does not,” Carlito answered, with a few tears dropping from his eyes.

  “Why will you mess with me Carlito? I have done so many horrible things as a spy, assassinated a lot of people and tortured an uncountable number of people.”

  “I’m sorry Elsa, please forgive me,” Carlito begged.

  “Do you know what I can do to you?” Elsa asked Carlito, “I’m going to leave you now, take this as a warning,” Elsa said and untied Carlito and told him to leave her room immediately.

  “Thank you Elsa,” Carlito got up and ran out of the room.

  Chapter 8

  “Go and get Andreiá, Carlito, Gina, Greg and Emilio for me,” Kevin told two of his maids, “tell them to meet me in the sitting area.”

  Five minutes later they all met Kevin in the sitting area. “Please, all of you should sit down,” Kevin said. “We have not worked in three months because of the last incident that involved Carlito and Jake. I had to make sure Carlito was fully recovered,” Kevin continued. He put his hand in his jacket and removed four chains, “Put this on,” Kevin said, as he gave each of the chains to, Carlito, Andreiá, Emilio and Elsa, “always put them on, when you go on your assignments, never lose them,” he emphasised. “This will help prevent what happened on your last mission; once you have the chains on, you can call on the dark wind and it will take you guys out of danger, you don’t have to hold hands but you must all be putting your chains on. Emilio, Carlito, Andreiá and Elsa, the four of you are going on an assignment tomorrow,” Kevin explained, “it is an important assignment, the key you are going to get is from a top person with a lot of security, his name is Vladislav, this is one of the reasons why I have added Elsa to your team, she is highly trained.”

  The next day at 3:30 a.m., Carlito, Andreiá, Emilio and Elsa appeared in Vladislav’s bedroom. They looked round to make sure there was no one around, Andreiá leaned over to recite the words in Vladislav’s ear. Vladislav suddenly opened his eyes and rolled off the bed, but before he rolled off he grabbed Andreiá’s chain off her neck. Emilio ran to the other side of the bed to grab Vladislav, and Vladislav pressed an alarm by his bed. Immediately he pressed the alarm, two men ran into the room, and before they could fully open the door Elsa grabbed the first man’s machine gun from behind the door, and used the back of the gun to smash the man’s face. The man fell face down to the ground and passed out; before the second man could open fire she used the machine gun to hit the pistol out of his hand, punched him in the face and quickly grabbed his neck and gave him a choke hold. As she was choking him, a third man ran towards the room and opened fire on Elsa, but before he started shooting she quickly turned the man she was giving a choke hold towards the man that was shooting; the man emptied his bullets into the man Elsa was giving a choke hold. Elsa pushed the dead man’s body on the man that was shooting at her and she quickly grabbed a pistol which was on the floor and shot the man that was shooting at her, then she quickly closed the door and locked it. Andreiá, Carlito and Emilio had frozen and were just staring at Elsa. “Jump out through the window,” Elsa shouted at them. They ran to the window but couldn’t open it, so Elsa quickly shot several bullets at the window and shattered the window. The four
of them hurriedly started jumping out the window, as they could already hear several men trying to break down the door.

  By the time they broke down the door, the four of them had jumped out from the window. Vladislav quickly came out from the side of the bed, “Rally all the men, we must get them, if they escape they will come back for me,” Vladislav ordered.

  “It is so cold,” Andreiá said, shivering. The four of them looked round and there was snow everywhere. There was no other house around except this one. “This house is a mansion just like Kevin’s mansion,” Carlito said, shaking his head and shivering at the same time.

  “We need to look for a place to hide, the snow is falling too heavily,” Elsa said, as she looked round to see if there was anywhere they could hide. She looked back at the mansion and saw a garage gate slightly open, “We need to go in there and look for a way to call Kevin or else we might be killed,” Elsa said, looking around. They hurriedly went to the garage and Emilio and Carlito pulled the garage gate slightly open and the four of them entered and shut the garage gate behind them. The garage was huge and could contain more than twenty cars, “Look at all the exotic cars,” Emilio said as he admired the cars.

  “Listen, they would have sent men to search for us around the estate. They might figure out later that we are still in the estate, we need to look for a way to make a call,” Elsa said.

  “There is no way the dark wind will make us vanish from here without Andreiá’s chain,” Emilio said shaking his head. “Carlito, look around to see if there are any jackets.”

  “Emilio, look around to see if there are any weapons or anything we can use to protect ourselves; Andreiá, stay by the window and watch to see if anybody is coming towards the garage, make sure you are hidden so no one can see you,” Elsa directed, “I am going to go into the main building to see if I can find a phone to call Kevin, and see if we can be rescued.”

  “I found some thick jackets,” Carlito said as he put the jackets on the floor.

  “I found a baseball bat,” Emilio said holding it.

  “Okay everyone, put on the jackets. I will go into the main building alone,” Elsa said as she wore one of the jackets.

  “I can help,” Carlito offered.

  “No it’s too dangerous, it’s better I go alone,” Elsa advised.

  “Do you see anyone around?” Elsa asked Andreiá.

  “I saw a few trucks drive out through the back a few minutes ago,” Andreiá answered.

  Emilio opened the garage gate slightly and Elsa rolled out from underneath the gate. She snuck round the side of the house and saw a door; she snuck to the door, looking around to make sure no one was coming, she opened the door gently, bent down and crawled into the house. She got up slightly to see if there was anyone around and there was nobody; she looked around and saw that she was in the kitchen, where she saw a set of knives and took two of them, hiding them in her jacket. She crawled gently towards the door that led into the other part of the house, she got up by the door and leaned flat against the wall; she peeked to see if there was anyone around but there was no one. Then she saw a side table with a phone on it, she bent down and snuck to were the phone was; she looked round and picked up the phone, and dialled Kevin. He picked up immediately.

  “We are in danger please send rescue.”

  Kevin did not ask any further questions, and they both put their phone down. Elsa snuck back towards the kitchen and before she could enter the kitchen she heard a gun cock behind her. “Turn around,” the voice commanded. As she turned around she removed one of the knives in her jacket and threw it at the man with the gun. The knife went through his throat and he fell straight down. Another man ran towards Elsa, and tried to punch her, she dodged the punch and at the same time removed the second knife in her jacket and stabbed the man’s hand. He kicked her, and she held his leg to her side and stabbed his leg twice; he couldn’t stand properly anymore and he was bleeding profusely. She turned him round and slit his throat, he fell to the ground, but as she turned around to run towards the door, she felt the back of a rifle hit her head hard. She fell down and passed out.

  “What is going on, why is Elsa not back?” Andreiá asked nervously. She peeked out through the window, there was no sign of anyone.

  “I think we should hide inside this work shed,” Emilio pointed to the shed.

  Carlito pulled Andreiá’s hand and they followed Emilio and hid in the shed. The three of them sat down waiting for Elsa, and about one hour later they heard the garage gate open. Andreiá was about to get up and see if it was Elsa, but Carlito held her back and told her to wait. Then they heard voices, male voices, “Check everywhere,” one of them shouted. Carlito, Emilio and Andreiá, practically held their breath so they wouldn’t hear them breathe. The men walked closer to the shed, Emilio, Carlito and Andreiá tried to sneak out, and as they crawled they heard several guns cock. The men pulled them up, “Move, move,” one of them shouted as they shoved them along.

  Carlito, Andreiá and Emilio were taken to a basement; they walked in and saw Elsa tied to a chair, half her face was swollen, she managed to open one eye and saw the three of them being tied up in front of her. “Elsa,” Andreiá shouted. One of the men slapped her across her face, the slap was so hard Andreiá saw stars. Carlito shut his eyes, he couldn’t watch Andreiá being slapped. The men that tied them up started beating the four of them up, slapping them and punching them, “Who sent you?” they shouted, “How did you get into Vladislav’s room?” Emilio spat out blood, but none of them said anything. “Leave them alone, leave them until morning then we will either kill them or throw them in the river to freeze. Three of you stay with them, the rest of you guard the estate in case there are more of them,” Vladislav ordered. Unaware to the four of them, they were in the coldest part of Russia, Oymyakon, where only few people lived.

  Two helicopters landed far to the north of Vladislav’s mansion around 6 a.m., it was still quite dark. About six men came out, wearing white camouflage clothes, they put on ski blades and skied close to the Vladislav’s mansion. The six men were dead silent as they skied and got to the mansion. The leader of the six-man team pointed to higher ground close to the mansion and signalled to two of his men to take position there. The four remaining moved quietly towards the side door carrying their M16A4 rifles and each of them held the gun up. The men also had night visions on, the two men took positions on higher ground and set up their sniper rifles.

  “There’s a man walking towards the four of you from the east,” one of the snipers radioed the four men. The leader of the team told the sniper to take him out. There were silencers on the sniper rifles, the sniper shot the man on the forehead, the man fell down in the snow instantly. There was another man standing on the top floor, one of the snipers took him out, two more men thought they heard a noise and ran towards the four men, the snipers took both of them out instantly. One of the four men opened the side door gently, one of them peeked and saw five men standing guard of a door, he collected a gas canister from one of the other men and threw it in the room; the room was filled with smoke and the five men in the room were immediately disoriented. The four men rushed in and shot the five men, the smoke in the room dissipated and the four of them walked towards the room that was being guarded. None of them stood in front of the door, one of them opened the door from the side, and immediately they opened the door, someone shot at them from the room. The four men quickly lay down on the floor and shot the man several times; two of them entered the room and two stood by the door. They saw Elsa, Carlito, Andreiá and Emilio tied up, the two men quickly cut them loose. “Can you walk?” they asked, “Yes we can,” came the reply, and they quickly rushed them out of the house. As they ran out through the side door, the snipers radioed them that they needed to get out of the building immediately, two jeeps filled with men was approaching from the south.

  “Get out of there now,” the leader of the group told the snipers as they rushed out. They gave, Andreiá, Carlito,
Elsa and Emilio the extra skis they brought for them, and they all skied quickly towards the helicopters. There was considerable distance between them and the men chasing them, so they had enough time to quickly jump into the helicopters and the helicopters soon became airborne.

  Emilio, Carlito, Andreiá, Elsa and two of the men had all got into one of the helicopters; the other four were in the other helicopter. Elsa looked at the pilot cockpit and saw Déborah who was sitting in the co-pilot seat. As the helicopters flew they heard an explosion close to them; Carlito looked out and saw that the other helicopter filled with the other men had exploded in the air. One of the men that saved them looked out and saw that they were being shot at with rocket launchers, “They are shooting at us with rocket launchers!” he shouted. Their helicopter pilot tried to make some manoeuvres, but one of the rockets being shot at them exploded close to the tail of their helicopter and it lost control; a lot of smoke was coming out from the tail of their helicopter, but the pilot managed to keep it in the air for some time until they flew towards a mountainous region where the pilot lost control and the helicopter went down and crashed inside the snow.

  Elsa gently opened her eyes, she looked round, everybody had passed out but she managed to get up, “Wake up Carlito,” Elsa said, shoving Carlito gently. He opened his eyes, he had some bruises on his face. “Get up and wake the rest up, we are lucky to be alive, the snow absorbed the crash impact,” Elsa said as she staggered to wake Déborah up.

  Carlito woke up Andreiá, Emilio, and the two men who saved them. Elsa shoved the pilot, “Wake up.” The pilot opened his eyes, he tried to move and felt a sharp pain on his side, he was bleeding, shrapnel from the impact had cut through his flesh and he had a deep cut that needed to be treated immediately. “Do not move,” Elsa suggested, “let me take a look at the injury.” She saw that it was deep, and he was losing a lot of blood, “Where is the first aid kit?” Elsa asked. The pilot showed her where the kit was, so she treated him and managed to slow the bleeding, but the pilot needed proper medical attention.
