Her eyes opened. "Vicki offered me the job. I start on Monday."
Again he didn't move, though his whispered words made every part of her body aware of him as she grew warmer. "That's perfect. She works on the Miracle Mile, no?"
She licked her lips. "Yes she does. It's a perfect name."
His fingers traced her neck and back of her head. Every part of her craved his touch.
"I was thinking, I live closer to your new job, and my place is plenty big but completely empty..."
She stilled. "Are you asking me to move in with you?"
"Your home in Brickell is better for highways and being single as you are right downtown, and your mother and brother still act like they live with you there. I'd like to build a life with you at my side, Caro."
She lowered her eyes and gaze as she listened to her heart beat. "Yeah, they all seem to never lose the key."
"Both of our families are welcome to visit us, but I'd like more alone time with you."
She puckered her lips and angled her face. "You're right. Let's do it. I love you. Kiss me, Luke."
"You read my mind, and I love you too."
His mouth finally met hers in a kiss. Everything else faded away. Love had finally returned to her life, and she was Luke Morgan's, just as she had always wanted. One kiss really did change her forever.
