  Part I

  Bully Academy

  Chapter 1

The party was going to be fucking epic.

  Fucking.

  Epic.

Lit AF as my bestie Maddy had squealed in my ear earlier that afternoon when she'd come over to work on our late summer tans before the start of the school year.

We were seniors now and invited to the big blow out at Josh's place. He was known for his off the hook end of summer parties but this was the first time I was daring to sneak out and go.

And I was beyond excited. I was dying a little inside but had to force myself to focus on getting ready.

I tugged at the hem on my skirt and reconsidered my choice. It was a dress, it was black and it was very little.

I'd have to sneak past my parents somehow hiding it or they would flip the fuck out if they saw me in it.

I stashed my heels in my backpack and threw on a pair of sweats and a hoodie over the dress.

I did my makeup, just some light shadow and contouring to hide a sprinkle of freckles I had across the bridge of my nose. Then I loosened my hair from the tight ponytail, shook it out and ran some product through it to keep it full with big, wavy curls.

I was the typical blonde bimbo if you casually glanced at me on the street, my bright blue eyes and thick long hair hiding a brilliant mind that I liked to keep from the world.

I didn't really like being smart. I just wanted to have fun, I wanted to party and find out if Joshua Jacobs was interested in me tonight.

I wanted to spend my senior year having a good time, dating a hot guy and enjoying the last year of freedom I had in my entire life.

I heard the familiar tumble of feet coming up our stairs and seconds later, my friend Maddy flung my door open and yelled, "Stephanie, I'm hooooome! Are you ready to party?"

"Oh my god, shut up,” I said and pointed towards the downstairs living room where my parents were watching TV. "They think we're going to see the new Marvel movie, remember?"

"Oh shit, sorry," Maddy giggled and pressed her hand to her lips. "I didn't dress up at least, so it looks legit."

"You still look fire," I said and admired her perfect make up and completely rocking hair with its bright blue and pink streaks. She could always pull off the bold, dramatic look that failed on me. It looked fierce on her and garish on me.

"Let's go," she said and grabbed my hand. "I stole a bottle of vodka from my dad's liquor cabinet so we need to get mix at the 7-11."

We headed downstairs, told my parents we would be at the late show and the movie was three hours long so we'd be back after midnight.

"You drive safely, you hear?" Mom said as she looked up from where she was knitting on our worn out sofa. "This is big party weekend and I don't want you guys getting hit by a drunk driver on your way home."

"I promise," I said and smiled.

"I'm an excellent driver, Mrs. Asher," Maddy said with a nod of her head.

"I'm sure she'll be fine, but remember one important thing about tonight," my stepdad, Reg said without turning his head away from the cheesy action movie playing on the TV.

  "What's that, Reg?" I asked.

"Pee before the movie starts. It's a long one and you don't want to miss any of the action."

"Okay, thanks for the advice, Mr. Asher," Maddy said and we were off out the door, running to her car and giggling like mad.

  "He i
s such a dork," I hissed as we climbed into her little BMW. "I don't know why my mom married him."

"He's hot. He's totally a bangable Daddy," Maddy laughed. "Too bad he's not one of the rich Ashers though."

"Uh, gross. He's not hot, he's got a dad bod and a scruffy beard. But I do agree with one thing. I wish he was rich!" Being basically the poorest girl in our school had caused me a lot of tension over the years, but thankfully good friends like Maddy didn’t care about how little my parents had in the bank. She liked me for me.

Maddy dropped her BMW into gear, sped off into the night and I couldn't help but think about how different my life would have been if Reg hadn't lost his business and all his inherited family money before he'd met mom.

Then again he never would have met her in the first place. She was the secretary at the investment company he managed. We weren't exactly that poor, but we weren't rich by any stretch of the imagination. Maddy's parents were way better off than mine, hence the BMW when she got her driver's license.

I didn't even have mine yet, Mom wanted me to save up my own money to pay for lessons. She said it would build character. As if I needed anymore character, I had enough of that by being the only one in the class who went without couture clothing or mani pedis most of the time.

Maddy and I talked non stop until she swung into sevvie, as Maddy called 7-11, to get our mix. Before we went into the store, we tore off our hoodies and sweats and runners and switched them up for heels that matched the dresses we had on underneath.

Maddy's dress was bright red and as tight as a second skin and she looked phenomenal in it. I glanced down at my own breasts and assessed them compared to hers, but found them lacking. Sometimes I hated being trapped inside my head, I was always comparing myself to other girls and finding that I came up not pretty enough or not skinny enough or not...well, breasty enough.

Inside the store Maddy started chatting up the clerk, Carlos, a guy we knew from the roller rink over on seventh. I think she was hoping he'd give her a free pack of cigarettes or condoms or something. She was always scamming something out of somebody.

I headed to the back of the store near the cooler and tried to decide what I wanted to drink with my vodka. What would taste the least disgusting going down...and coming back up when I hurled later on. I was picking out a jug of orange juice when Maddy came running up and said, "Oh my god, Brie is back in town!"

Brie Reynolds was famous for two things in our high school. Getting kicked out for sleeping with the art teacher, and then getting kicked out again for sleeping with his wife.

They had both been fired of course, but Brie was a fucking legend.

Maddy, Brie and I had been fast friends since kindergarten, so having her back from her summer away was incredible.

"Oh my god!" I heard Brie shriek behind me and she grabbed me in her arms, jumped up and down and nearly choked me with her massive breasts pressed against my face.

She was tall, had gorgeous red hair and curves to kill for.

She was also already very drunk.

"Stephanie! They let you out for a party!"

"Not quite," I coughed as Brie stepped back and I got some air. "They think we're at Endgame so we can stay out late."

"Sa-weeeeet!" she said and high fived me. "I've been dying to see you two, I missed the girl group, yanno?"

"Totally," Maddy said. "And tonight's the perfect night to come back. We're getting Stephanie laid."

Brie looked me up and down and grinned as she raised her eyebrows. "Ohhhh perfect timing then. Who's the lucky fella?"

"Joshua Jacobs. He's having a party tonight, come with us."

And it was settled. We got the orange juice, climbed back into Maddy's car and drove the few blocks to Josh’s place. I'd only been there a couple times for birthday parties back when all the kids in the class would go to all the parties, but it had been years since I'd actually been inside.

Music was blasting from somewhere in the house and the moment we got out the throbbing bass seemed to line up with the pounding of my heart and light my nerves on fire.

It was going to be an epic night after all.

"Drinks before we go in," Maddy announced and reached in for her backpack. She pulled out a pack of red solo cups, a big bottle of vodka that was almost full, and the orange juice from earlier.

Brie wrapped her arms around me from behind and we watched our friend make drinks on the hood of her car. Brie's hug felt nice, I'd missed my girl too. We were the three musketeers and had been forever.

Tonight was my night, my girls were back together and I was going to finally become a woman and catch up with the two of them.

Joshua Jacobs wouldn't know what hit him after I found him.

It was going to be epic as fuck.

  Chapter 2

We guzzled our drinks and had another before we strolled up to the front steps of Joshua’s huge house.

We pushed up the front steps and inside to find hundreds of people crushing against each other, all seeming to ebb and flow with the music as if on some unspoken group beat.

The vodka was already hitting my head by the time we made our way through the main room and into the kitchen in the back. We walked in a chain, my hand in Maddy's and hers in Brie's as we found a sort of empty spot near the fridge.

"Ice," Brie said, "I need ice!"

I could barely hear her over the music, but I opened the freezer and crashed some cubes into our cups. Maddy had brought the bottle along and I was shocked at how little was left. We'd been drinking way more than I'd thought.

"To new adventures and old friendships," Brie said, slurring her words as she held her cup up to toast.

"To Stephanie starting her senior year finally losing that V card," Maddy laughed and held her cup up.

"To me finally catching up with you two skank bitches," I yelled and held my cup against theirs.

We hooted and drank, draining the vodka and splash of orange in no time flat.

"Have either of you seen Josh?” I asked, scanning the room looking for his tall, gorgeous self with his deep green eyes and broad shoulders.

He was a football player and head quarterback. There were rumors that he was already tapped for the NFL, but nothing had been confirmed. I could see it though, he looked incredible and would be perfect for TV.

"Hey, have you seen Josh?” Maddy yelled, leaning over the counter island to a couple girls smoking a joint and talking together there.

One of them turned around and I squealed. "Trina! What the hell happened to you?"

She'd been my biology partner last year but had shed her nerdy looks in the past couple months. She was stunning and the vodka was making me a little too friendly. There was no friendlier creature on the planet than a drunk girl meeting her drunk friend.

I ran around the kitchen island and wrapped my arms around her, talking and giggling with her like we were old besties.

I caught Maddy and Brie looking at me with shocked expressions, their normally introverted friend was now everybody's best friend with a little alcohol in her veins.

But I couldn't help it, I just felt so good. I wanted to be friendly and talk to everyone I saw.

"Let's go find Josh,” Maddy said, grabbing my wrist and tugging at me.

"Oh Josh?" Trina's friend said. "He's behind the house by the pool. I think they've got a beer pong table set up or something."

"Thank you!" I replied and moved to hug her too but she recoiled and Maddy dragged me away before I could insist that she was now my new best friend.

"Stephanie is a hoot when she's hammered," Brie chuckled as we pushed through everybody to get to the back patio. "I don't think I've ever even seen you this drunk."

"I'm not as think as you drunk I am," I grinned at her and my friends howled with laughter. "Whatever, whores," I added when my feelings got hurt. "I'll go hang out with my new best friend Trina if you're going to make fun of me."

"We're not laughing at you, we're laughing with you," M
addy laughed and squeezed my hand.

"I'm laughing at her," Brie added with a grin.

I was about to protest or carry on about how unfair they were treating me, but luckily drunk me might be easily hurt, but I was also easily distracted.

I caught a flash of Josh's thick, dark hair through the screen door going out to the patio and I hollered at him.

I almost walked through the screen but Maddy grabbed me at the last minute and said, "Hey girl, watch it."

"You watch it, watch me go bang my guy," I said, my head feeling spinny and weird.

I teetered on my heels and wondered who's idea it had been to put me in them. I should have worn flats.
