Chance Encounters Page 6

by Kathi S. Barton

His chuckle made her smile. I can come and get you if you just give me some information. Like, have they told you the name of the clinic? Or where you might be, as in city or state?

No. She sat up and made her way to the chair, making sure that she staggered a little so they’d think she was drugged. I have to take these pills every day. They make me fall into a deep sleep that when I wake up, I feel like I’ve been run over by a car or two. What happened to me?

There was a plane accident. You were hurt when one of the engines stopped working and it fell, shearing off one of the wings and killing nearly everyone on the plane. You and I were the only survivors. She asked him when that had happened. Nine days ago as of this morning. I don’t know how you were saved as yet. The last information I got on you was that you and the other passengers had gone down with the belly of the plane. Into the water.

They were hanging upside down. And one of them had lost his head. When he said nothing she looked out the blacked out window. I don’t know where I am. The windows have cardboard on them, and there are bars too…like a prison. I know that the doctor, if he really is one, calls himself Peter. But if he told me his last name, I don’t remember it. And this nurse. I have no idea what her name is. She’s a prig.

You said that they were giving you drugs. Do you know what they are? I can have someone look into a prescription for them and maybe find you. She pulled out what she could that had not melted a little and read him the numbers on the top of them. Andrea told him what color they were and the shape as well. I have a doctor friend that can track them down and tell me what they are too.

I don’t want to be here anymore. Can you please work hard at getting me out of here? I don’t know if what you’re telling me is real or not, but I just want...I need to get out of here. I need it. He told her that he understood and assured her that he was real. At this point, I don’t care. I just want free.

After he told her again that he would do everything in his power to come and get her, Andrea made her way back to the bed. Covering herself up as best she could, she tried not to get too depressed about what was going on. If the man in her head wasn’t real, she was going to die here, she just knew it.

Reaching out to Sara and telling her everything that he knew felt wonderful. He had something. Not a lot, but something. She answered him just as he realized that she might be busy after it took several seconds, and he apologized to her.

Never too busy for this. What did you say the numbers on those drugs were again? He told her. I know what the one is. It’s a heavy narcotic. I would say that they’re keeping her sedated to control her. She tell you if they’re feeding her well? This shit can make you sick if you don’t take them with some food.

I never thought to ask her. But she did tell me that this Peter person—a doctor, she said—told her that I wasn’t real. I wonder...well, I had a thought that he might know what I am to her and is trying to keep her from me. But who would do that? He had a tingle of fear when he thought of a couple of people that might. Can you do me a favor? Look into what Neal has been up to, and maybe his address.

The alpha? You think...you know what? You’re never wrong, so I’m going to do some digging. Might even have something for you soon, too. I had...the digging I was doing into the wolf that challenged him has given me a look-see into this guy’s life like you would not believe. He asked her what kind of things she’d found. Well, for starters, he has more money than seems right for his pack. I know that we pay dues and all, but he has nearly as much money as you do. And the pack is in poor shape.

Find me an address if you can. Andrea said that the windows were blocked with cardboard. That sort of thing might be easy to spot, even from the road. She gave him what she knew. Okay. I’m leaving here soon. I can’t...I need to see what I can do.

Reaching for Andrea to tell her about the drugs she’d been taking, he found her asleep. It didn’t seem to him it was a very restful sleep, but full of dreams about headless men and arms. He reached deeper into her slumber and touched a memory that was buried deeper than he’d thought possible for it being so recent, but pulled it up for her. And him as well.

She’d been pressed against the wall of the bathroom on the plane. Instead of leaving the dream alone, letting her play it out the way that it had happened, he changed the setting for them, bringing her not just to his home but his bed as well. This time he had her tied there, her body naked for him to see. Andrea moaned when he said her name softly.

I’m going to eat you. Her denial was right there even in her rest as he touched her with his mind. Yes. I’m going to make you come so many times that you’re going to know my body when I touch you in real life.

You’re not real. He made her think that he was touching her hard clit. Yes. Again, please. I need more.

Tell me I’m real and I’ll give you a little release for now. She told him again that he was from a head injury and Trevor touched her again, harder this time, so that she knew that he was real. Tell me, Andrea. Tell me you believe in me and that I’m going to come for you.

You’re real, you’re real. Please. I need to come. He made her think again that he was touching her, his fingers sliding into her heat fast and hard. As she moaned in his head, Trevor reached down to release his cock and wrapped his hand around himself. The relief would be short, but it would make her relax a little until he could find her. More. More, I need more.

When I find you the first thing I’m going to do is fuck you against the hardest object I can find. Taking you as I want, as we both need, I’m going to pound that pretty pussy of yours until you’re screaming your release. He tightened his hand around his cock, imagining her pussy tightening around him. My cock is so hard, so ready for you. I’m fisting myself while I think of seeing you naked. Your body spread open for me.

I want to take you in my mouth, suck on your cock until I can feel you coming down my throat. He nearly tore his dick off when she moaned after that. The thought of your cock inside of me is making me wet. My fingers are soaking wet just thinking about you.

He wanted to see her like this. Her fingers busy in her pussy while she fucked herself. Trevor told her to take her breast in her hand, to squeeze her nipples until they hurt.

Tug on them, love. Make them burn with need. She told him she was, that it felt good. I want you to imagine my mouth there, my teeth biting into your hard peak enough to draw blood. Then I’ll drink from you there, suckle at your breasts until you come. Only then will I enter you.

Your cock is thick, full. I can see it now. You were standing in front of me. Your pants were so tight across it, and all I wanted to do was reach up and cup you. Trevor remembered that, when he’d been putting his things in the overhead. He’d known what she was to him even as they were in the airport; sitting next to her had been by plan. I’m coming.

His own cock exploded at her words, spraying cum all over his body, his hands, and even the bed. Even as she came a second, then a third time, his cock filled again. His balls ached to be emptied again as she screamed in his mind. Trevor felt his own climax racing to what seemed like a finish line, the goal to have her come again, this time while he sank his teeth into her throat.

Again. Come for me again. She did so, and he felt his as if she were wrapped around him, his cock deep inside of her sheath. As she screamed out her release, he did as well, his body bowing up off the bed as his cum streamed in long jets out of his cock. Even cupping his balls, holding them from the pain of being emptied so quickly, Trevor cried out again. Christ, he wondered, what would it be like when they came together again?

As he lay there, his body so mellow that the thought of getting up and cleaning himself hurt, he reached gently into her mind to see if she was all right. What he found gave him pause. She was thinking of the accident and the people that were hanging above her.

They’re real, aren’t they? He had no idea if she was awake right now, but her next words confirmed it. I have seen them
before when I sleep. Only since I’ve stopped taking that medicine. I think...they’re real, aren’t they? Those people are dead hanging there.

They are. I didn’t see that part of the wreckage. By the time I came to where you were, the plane had shifted enough that only the personnel that were qualified to go in could try and save anyone. She said nothing so he continued. The plane fell into the water beneath the wreckage. We all assumed that you, too, were trapped in it. Then when you contacted me, I knew that you were alive and that you needed me.

But you didn’t come for me like you said. He told her that he’d tried but she was gone. Here. I was here. I don’t know how I got here. Perhaps there was a car accident that I might have been around, and they found me there. I don’t know. I really wish that I did, but I don’t.

I’m looking into it. Trevor got up to take a fast shower. He wanted to go and find her right now. This man that says he’s your doctor; can you describe him for me?

Tall, lanky sort of. He has this comb over, but...I don’t think it’s real. There is...you’re going to think this is silly, but he smells like rubber cement when he comes to see me, and one time I could see tuffs of hair that had come out from under what looked like a mask on his head. Like one of those bald caps. He told her to go on. He had dark eyes, almost black, and he acts like he’s befuddled all the time. But again, I think that’s fake too.

The woman with him. You said she smelled of bleach and mothballs. What else does she smell like? I’m thinking you can smell something more on her, but you might not know to smell it. He didn’t want to hurt her—he knew that this probing in her mind was painful to her—but before he could tell her to wait for him, she spoke again.

Earthy. Does that sound stupid? She smells like...dirty, or the trees, or...I know this is weird, but I swear she smells like a dog. Not a good smell, mind you, but a dog all the same. He felt her laughter, but it was forced rather than humorous. So does the doctor, if he is one. I don’t, for some reason, think that he is.

I don’t think he is either. He wanted to ask her to call him out, to say his real name, but without him there to help her, to possibly save her from him, he didn’t want her to do that just yet. I’m on my way, love. When I get there, I promise you, we’ll finish what we started tonight.

Just come and get me out of here. I need to...I feel so trapped and I want to see who and what I am. Please?

I’m coming for you, Andrea. I swear to you, I’m coming now. As he moved out of his temporary home to his car, he reached for Sara again. Neal Stein has her. And I’m going to kill him.

Instead of telling him to wait for the police or even to wait on her, Sara, ever the practical woman, just simply told him to be careful. He told her that he planned on it.

  Chapter 5

“He’s running slightly behind. Your brother said for you to have a seat and he’ll be in when he gets here.” Burton glared at Sara and she snapped her fingers in front of his face. “You keep that up, Buster, and I’ll tell him you never showed up, and we’ll see how well that goes over with him. He’s not in the best of moods anyway, so if you want my advice, then I’d—”

“I don’t want anything from you. Especially not advice on how to handle my little brother.” He had to bite his tongue to tell her that he didn’t want anything from Trevor either, but that would have been really stupid. “Just tell him to get his ass in gear. I have things to do today, and not a bit of it involves sitting around with you.”

Sara only stared at him for several seconds before she moved out of the waiting area he was in to the door. She didn’t even pause to ask him if he wanted anything, like a drink or something, but moved out of the door and closed it behind her. Burton flipped her off as he sat back down on the chair he’d been told to sit in when he’d gotten there.

He really did have plans today. Well, tonight anyway. His friend Bill had told him that he could come and join them tonight for the big party, but it would cost him. Apparently they all were paying up to make it a real party, at five grand each. Catered food was being brought in, then the women had to be taken care of when they were done with them. He assumed it was not to pay them off, but to get rid of the bodies. For some reason that turned him on as much as the thought of fucking them did. Burton had been hard since he’d finally been able to get in touch with the man late last night. He thought about the conversation as he sat waiting for Trevor to grace him with his holy presence.

“Yeah, we got us a half a dozen this time…women, I mean. Not sure that all of them will be as prime as my first one, but I’m telling you right now, it’s going to be epic.” Burton had asked him how. “Well, you know that field out by the Mason paddock that is overgrown? We got them stashed out there. And we got the run of the entire field and forest out there. Them women have no idea what they’re doing, but they’re being all groomed up for us. I even paid extra to have them shaved. Love me some bare pussy.”

That was something that Burton hadn’t tried either. In fact, other than a good fuck and him coming, he’d not really had a lot of experience with woman that knew what they were doing. He told Bill he was in.

“You meet me at the bar on Tenth at seven-thirty and we’ll go on out. There is a catering truck supposed to be setting up for the food and all. Them girls is going to serve us, naked like, and then we’ll all strip down and have some fun. There are ten of us counting you. All of us some kind of shifter and shit.” Burton asked him when the festivities were to begin. “Just as soon as I show up with you, we’ll eat. Then have us some fun.”

“Burton.” He looked up at his brother, not even sure who he was at first. Christ the man looked like he’d been wearing the same clothing for a week and his hair was messy. “I have everything set up for us. I need to get this finished quickly. I have something working and I don’t want to spend all day here. Are you ready to go?”

“Yeah, me too. And I’m ready. Sara told me you were tied up.” Burton was surprised when Trevor didn’t ask him what he had going, but moved out of the room he was in to his office. He sat where he was told, and was surprised when the door behind him opened and two men walked in. One of them he knew was Trevor’s personal attorney, David Carter. Burton didn’t like him any more than Carter did him. He wanted to ask what was going on, but was sort of afraid to. There were any number of things that the attorney could be there for, even the shit that had happened last night after he’d left the bar. “This is Mark Wingmen, my business attorney…and you know David, I’m sure. If not, he certainly knows who you are. We’re here to clear some things up before next month.”

“Next month? Something happening?” He tried to make it seem like a joke, but his balls felt like they were up around his throat. “You don’t mean you’re throwing me a bash, do you? That would be nice Trevor, but not necessary. I have a few plans of my own that you won’t have to come to. I understand that you’re busy and all.”

“I’m not having a bash for you, Burton. Nor am I going to come to any of yours.” The hardness of his voice made Burton’s wolf stir to defense. “Calm him, Burton, or so help me this will go a hell of a lot worse on you. My wolf is on edge as well, and I won’t be cleaning this mess up after I have to hurt you.” Burton wasn’t so sure about that. He was bigger than his little brother, but let it go for now.

“Perhaps you should explain yourself then. I’m not really keen on the way you’re ambushing me with all this, whatever it is.” Trevor nodded at the man, Wingmen, and he stood up. So did Burton. There could only be one reason for them both to be here, and that was something that he didn’t want to happen either. Trevor with no money. “Whatever he has to say to me, I’d rather you said it. We’re family, after all, and I would rather hear that you’re broke from you.”

“Broke?” Burton nodded at his brother, who just laughed. “No. I’m not broke. I would be if you had anything to do about it; but no, I’m not broke. But as of the fifth of next month, you will be. Your birthday is then, and that will end things
between us financially. In the event that you don’t understand what I’m telling you, I won’t be footing the bill for your adventures, your good deals, rent, or anything else you might be using of mine. No more money to line your pockets, no paying off any of your messes, and I certainly won’t be picking up the tab for any of your parties. There will be no more bailing you out or making sure that your messes are—”

“Now wait a minute. You can’t seriously just start taking away my money like this. I need time to make plans. Save some of what you’re supposed to be giving me.” Burton tried to think around the buzzing in his head. “I have an idea. How about you just take a little away at a time? Like, I can live on about a hundred dollars a month less for a while. Then in a few years you can take another fifty or less. Less would be good.” Trevor was shaking his head. “Trevor, this isn’t fair of you. You can’t do this to your only brother. You made a promise to Mom.”

“I can and I am. You knew as well as I did that this day was coming. Mother had a long talk with you. David was there, as well as myself, when she told you, in no uncertain terms, that at the age of thirty-five I was done with you.” Burton started to shake his head. “You can deny this all you want, Burton, but even if I hadn’t made a promise to Mom, I’d still be cutting you off. Especially after last night.”

“Last night wasn’t my fault. Had the man just done what I told him then nothing would have come of it. But that’s not the issue here, is it? You just think you can cut me off from what I’m supposed to be getting from you? That’s just not going to work for me, Trevor. Why didn’t someone let me know beforehand that there was no longer a tab for me at that place?” He watched his brother and knew that he was angry. So was he, damn it. “If you’re thinking of taking away some of my perks that I deserve by being your brother, then I should have a—”
