  “Style?”

“Yes that’s it! Style. Nothing too flashy. As much as I loved her, maybe Cindy was a bit too much of a handful.”

Gil breathed a sigh of relief. No more red sports jobs then he thought to himself. “So if I’ve got this right, you’re looking for Cindy’s more sophisticated, stylish sister?”

“That’s exactly what I want Gil - aren’t you the clever one!” Bridget replied, smiling broadly. “I hope I can sleep tonight” she added, “for some reason I’ve got that tune about a car going round and round in my head. I think it was Bruce or Spruce somebody or other who sang it but I can’t think of the title.”

“Pink Cadillac?” Gil suggested half-heartedly, already fearing that he would live to regret it.

  “Yes that’s the one!”

“I had a feeling it might be” Gil replied with a groan.

But Bridget didn’t hear. She was already tapping her feet to the tune in her head and gazing wistfully into the distance.

An arrest is soon made. But a second murder, seemingly unconnected to the first, convinces Bridget that they’ve got the wrong man. But will they be in time?

Shadows of the Past Second in the Gil and Bridget Honeyman mystery series

Frederick Honeyman, husband, father and respectable bank manager, was knocked down and killed as he crossed the road on Christmas Eve 1984. The driver didn’t stop. To add to the family’s torment, the accident took place in a little street nowhere near Frederick’s route home from the bank. What was he doing there? Where was he going? As the years passed, the family came to accept they would never know the answers. Until now.

Years later, Bridget Honeyman finds a letter amongst her father’s old books which she believes could be the key to finally unlocking the mystery. After much soul-searching, she and her brother Gil set out to find the truth behind what really happened all those years ago. But are they ready to hear it?

Sins of the Fathers Third in the Gil and Bridget Honeyman mystery series

Whilst sitting in Gil and Bridget Honeyman’s car in their driveway one Sunday morning, Maggie Thomas is shot at point blank range. The police conclude that since no-one other than Maggie and her family even knew that she would be in the UK that day, it must be Bridget who was the intended target. Bridget is baffled but begins to wonder if events in her recent past could hold the key. Just as she believes she’s worked out the identity of the gunman a second attack takes everyone’s breath away. But who will be the target this time?

In this, the third in the Gil and Bridget Honeyman mystery series, and their darkest adventure so far, the intrepid pair of amateur sleuths are for once forced to act as helpless bystanders as events threaten to spiral out of control. It’s not all doom and gloom however as an unexpected romance catches Gil unawares. But could this spell the end for the siblings’ crime-solving partnership?
