Captured by the Monsters Page 19

by R. L. Caulder

Soon enough, he was able to pull out of me, and Sylan took me from his arms and gently laid me down onto the bed, sinking into me in one swift move. My legs wrapped around him as my back arched in pleasure.

After a few slow and deep thrusts, he pulled back to gently kiss my lips and stare into my eyes. “I’m falling in love with you too,” he admitted before sinking his tongue into my mouth and kissing me deeply.

I grinned against his mouth as he truly made love to me. He whispered sweet things to me the entire time, telling me how stunning I was, inside and out, and that they’d never understand how they go so lucky to be fated to be mine.

As his perfectly timed thrust hit the spot inside of me that had sparks dancing behind my eyes, I whispered, “I’d never want any other Trifecta. You three are mine.”

We both groaned as we reached our peak, and he peppered kisses along my cheek and neck as his cock locked into me. I swear the smile on my face never left the entire time until he was able to pull out of me and Axton replaced him on the bed.

He was quick to grab my hips and flip us to where I was settled on top of him, sitting snugly against his cock. I whimpered and immediately pushed up, grabbing his tip and lining it up with my pussy until I sank down.

My eyes rolled back in my head at how deep he felt in this position, and by the time I was able to sink all the way down, the slickness of my body making it easier, my clit was pulsing with need.

Our eyes locked as his hands gripped my hips, slowly rocking me back and forth until I found the pace I wanted. When I took over the rhythm, one of his hands drifted down to brush his thumb across my clit, making me cry out.

My head fell back as I moaned in bliss, with Axton’s cock buried completely inside me and my long hair brushing against my ass.

“Precious, look at me,” Axton demanded, punctuated with a nicely timed thrust into me.

My focus snapped to him as he began to increase his speed, driving his cock into me at the perfect angle and momentum to turn my brain to mush. All I could do was just sit there, taking everything he had to give me.

“You know I’m falling in love with you too, right?” he asked, his voice uncharacteristically raw, like he was worried I didn’t know.

“I know,” I answered just before he pushed his hips up once more, making me cry out.

These monsters were mine, and I was theirs. Completely.

His pace increased tenfold until we were both panting and groaning, drowning in these sensations. I felt the crest of my orgasm approaching lightning fast, and I bit my lip before crying out, “Fuck, I’m going to come!”

I moaned, losing myself in the sensations. Ecstasy flooded me at the same time Axton groaned his own release, his grip on my hips almost bruising as he thrusted shallowly a few more times until his body relaxed and his eyes closed.

Power thrummed in my veins, and the crystal around my neck blazed with vitality, pulsing steadily against my skin in time with my heartbeat. I hated to admit it, but monster cum was the most potent energy boost I’d ever experienced—even more so than coffee.

The thought made my head spin. Once upon a time, I used to drink coffee every day. It seemed like a lifetime ago when I was in The Above, that I’d been with my monsters for months instead of mere days.

Before coming here, I never would have believed in something as cheesy as fate, but it was hard to argue that everything that had happened thus far was anything but destiny. The crystal had not only orchestrated my bond with my mates, but it also chose me to be Queen.

Never in a thousand years would I have envisioned my life like this. Hell, I was surprised I was even still alive. For all my determination to return to The Above, deep down, I felt like I would never have the chance.

That I would never be able to see my parents or Gizmo again.

Now, here I was, planning on going back—and not alone, but with my Trifecta to support me. A calm washed over me, and I was so grateful to have their support, even if they were still slightly reluctant. It truly meant the world to me.

Righting the wrongs of The Above while being able to restore Paratiisi was a dream come true.

“So, what’s your plan?” Axton asked eventually as he gently lifted me off of him and tucked me into his side.

I knew it would have to be sound and compelling for him to agree, and I was surprised he was even entertaining the idea, but there was no swaying my mind.

“We go to The Above, talk to the leader, and try to negotiate a new treaty.”

I could feel their disapproval in the air as Sylan and Rowen came to join us on the bed.

“What?! It’s a good plan! Men always want to shoot first and ask questions later, but I think everyone underestimates the power of asking.”

“Precious, what do you think the leaders are going to do when they see Rumilus back on their land?”

  “Pause,” I responded.

  “Pause?” Rowen repeated. “Please explain.”

“Well, the last time the leaders saw you, the Rumilus were turning into Specters, right? Humans knew something was wrong with your kind and took advantage of your weakness. When we go to The Above, I think your presence will make them stop and think—and that pause is exactly what we need to plead our case and make the leader see reason.”

Sylan sighed. “Sera, I think you’re operating under the impression that the human leader will want to cooperate—”

“I know it’s a long shot, Sylan, but again, we can’t know if we don’t ask. If we don’t try. What if you three had given up? If you hadn’t kept coming back to the cave after every new shipment of women came from The Above? The crystal never would have connected me to you. You would all be Specters still.”

“You’re right,” Rowen agreed, surprising me for a second time. “We never gave up. Axton, Sylan, and I were determined to find our mate—you. I still think this is a risky plan, but I also understand where you’re coming from. It’s not just a matter of speaking to the human leader, though. How do we get to The Above? Before the Great War, Rumilus used human transport to go there.” He trailed off as his words lit a light bulb in my brain.

“We can use the transport shuttle that brings the human women here!” I exclaimed in excitement.

My monsters pondered my words before I felt Axton nod behind me. “Yes, I suppose we could do that the next time one arrives.”

“Then it’s a plan!” I crowed in delight, but Sylan shook his head.

“I don’t think this is a good idea. We should go back to the castle, present you, and then get some Rumilus on our side to join us.”

“No,” I argued. “As I said, the three of you will make the humans pause, giving us a small window of opportunity to try and talk to the leader. But if more Rumilus come, it will look like we’re trying to start a war. At the end of the day, Specters are still stronger than humans, and in your Rumilus form, you’re even more so, right?”

“Yes,” Sylan permitted, “but we’re still susceptible to human weapons, just as you are, if we’re hit.”

I nibbled my lip over this new worry. Would the leader of The Above shoot my Trifecta without provocation? I’d seen the torture that leader representatives had inflicted on the lower castes and anyone deemed a ‘rebel,’ so I didn’t doubt what they were capable of.

The humans might fear the Rumilus, but the human leader wouldn’t kill them outright, in my opinion, until he proved they were of no use to him.

Greed surpassed fear, and the leader of The Above was the greediest of us all.

  Chapter Thirty

  AXTON

I still had reservations about Sera’s plan—so much could go wrong—but this was important to her. My greatest fear was something would happen to her. Something irrevocable. But I was also afraid that she would never forgive us if we didn’t support her in this.

We were damned if we did and damned if we didn’t.

Sylan thought we should go to the council and tell them about Sera first. But I al
so knew she was right—if we did that, they wouldn’t let her leave. They wouldn’t let her do what essentially boiled down to an act of war, because going to The Above was a declaration of that. It would nullify our treaty with no guarantee of making a new one.

All I could do was have faith in our mate and hope that Sera would be able to talk to the human leader and make him understand. But I had lived in the shadows for a long time, an incorporeal being betrayed by my own kind, and I knew what Sera felt.

I understood the struggle, the repression, and most of all, the thirst for justice. She reminded Rowen, Sylan, and me that when you became a ruler, it wasn’t just about you anymore—it was about the good of everyone.

Even though Sera was our mate, she wasn’t Rumilus. She was human, and she wanted to make life better for her kind—no different than us wanting to make life better for our people in Paratiisi. Knowing this, I didn’t begrudge her wanting to go back, but it still didn’t mean I had to like it.

I knew Rowen and Sylan didn’t like the idea of going to The Above either, but Sera clearly had a plan, and this was important to her.

I gazed at our mate with awe in my heart for how brave she was. When she was done braiding her hair, she secured it with a piece of thread Sylan had gotten her.

“I’m ready,” she announced, turning to us with her hands on her hips.

She looked fearless and lovely, dressed once more in her gossamer gown. I noted that the silvery color accented her features, making her seem serene and regal—she really was a Queen.

“Do you want me to carry you?” Rowen teased, knowing how much she’d enjoyed being carried by Sylan the first time.

Sera rolled her eyes in her typical faux-independent way before hedging, “I wouldn’t mind if it means we get there faster.”

Silently, Sylan swept in and scooped her up before Rowen could. “This is my job.”

Rowen scowled. “You know you have to share her, right?”

As they had their playful banter, I looked around one last time, memorizing this room. It was where we had marked Sera. It was the home we had built for our mate, and I would always cherish it, but we had a new home now. With Sera being Queen, we would be expected to reside at the castle.

Perhaps we could sneak away occasionally to build more memories here.

“Lead the way!” Sera exclaimed before laughing at whatever Rowen had just said in return. The sound of her laugh would always fill my heart with joy and hope.

When we exited our home, I heard Sera’s gasp from in front of me. She looked around her wildly, making me remember that she had fallen asleep on the way back from the castle.

Before, the land was nothing but shadows and darkness, but once the crystal deemed her Queen, the earth had become infused with her essence.

When we left the castle to take her home, the land was starting to be restored, and now, after she had rested and been with her mates, feeding the crystal’s energy, the plants and trees were beginning to flourish once more. My mate’s mouth hung open in fascination and wonder.

  “It’s…so beautiful. It’s…paradise,” she breathed.

Rowen smirked. “That is what Paratiisi means, remember?”

“It was hard to envision this place ever being anything like this. It’s even more beautiful than The Above…” she trailed off as her head kept swiveling around to take it all in.

Her innocent joy and shock as we continued towards the shuttle entrance was one I’d always remember. It was the first time she saw how beautiful her new home was, and it was all thanks to her.

The closer we got to the shuttle, the more anxious I became. We passed the cave where we first took Sera after she had passed out and where the crystal piece announced she was our mate. There, just beyond the horizon a bit, was the opening that connected Paratiisi to The Above.

Although I didn’t know for a fact when another shuttle would come, we were certain it wouldn’t take long with how often we were being shipped women now. Our current standin leaders were the only ones in communication somehow with The Above to increase the demand, so we had no details on when they would come.

Now that I thought about it…how were they communicating with them?

  Chapter Thirty-One

  SERA

It took a few hours, but finally the telltale sound of rumbling alerted us to our ride out of here.

The shuttle descended from the opening in the hole, and the sight of it made my stomach clench. I pulled out Sylan’s hold and raced over as the hatches opened. To my surprise, there were only two women inside of the five-seat shuttle.

  Where were the other three?

The girls startled in their seats when I appeared, staring at me with round eyes of wonder. I could imagine how they felt, expecting to see monsters but instead seeing a fellow human first thing.

“Everything you know is a lie!” I blurted out.

  Smooth. Real smooth, Sera.

Behind me, my Trifecta walked up, and Rowen snorted. “You might need to give them a bit more information, Sera.”

If possible, the girls’ eyes grew even wider at the sight of my monsters.

I rushed to explain more before they freaked out. “The Above, everyone, everything, it’s all untrue! The leader is telling us all lies about what’s going on down here in Para—I mean, The Below. I have to go back up to make things right and end the oppression.”

One of the girls nodded. “It’s already begun,” she stated, swallowing sharply as she eyed my Trifecta warily.

Before I could question what she meant, the soft hiss of the hatches sounded, indicating they were about to close. It was going to return to The Above.

“Quick! Get in!” I yelled at my mates as I jumped in. They scrambled to follow suit, and we ended up in a jumbled mess. The shuttle was intended for five human women, never three gigantic monsters and three humans.

We somehow managed to position ourselves so that we were scrunched in the back with the two girls in their original seats, just as the shuttle started to ascend once more. I remember the flight going down was stomach-dropping, but it was no different going back up.

The darkness that surrounded us was disorienting, and I felt sick and queasy. Rowen was at my back, Axton to my left, and Sylan squished into my right. Behind me, Rowen rubbed soothingly against my back, and I clutched my crystal necklace anxiously.

Nobody said a word as we went up. It felt like an eternity, but eventually, we came to an opening that spit us back out into the caves from The Above. I recalled how dark they seemed when I first entered them on my trip to The Below, but now they seemed filled with light in comparison to the dark hole we’d just emerged from, the light growing even brighter as the shuttle silently sifted out of the caves and back into The Above.

The bright light of the sun pierced my eyes and I blinked painfully, not used to such intensity anymore. The light in Paratiisi was much gentler, soft glow. Allowing my stomach to settle first, I pushed myself up a little off of Rowen and moved closer to the girls, trying to pick up on their conversation.

“I’m sorry. What were you saying?” I asked, but both women seemed stricken. “Is everything alright?”

“We didn’t get out,” the one who had spoken before whispered. “We’re traitors now.”

My heart clenched at her words, and I felt terrible for putting either of them in such a predicament.

“It’s okay,” I soothed. “We’re going back to make this right.” The woman nodded, but she did not look reassured. “You mentioned something wrong with The Above?” I prompted.

This time the other woman answered. “The other three didn’t join us because there’s dissent.”

“Dissent?” I questioned while arching a brow.

“Yes. The rebels banded together and are fighting the leaders,” she muttered, flicking her eyes back and forth between my face and my Trifecta.

Although I understood the seriousness of her words, my heart soared with joy. The humans were fighting b
ack! This was incredible news.

“And the three other girls?” I prompted.

“They decided to risk it and stay behind,” the first girl answered, “but I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t risk seeing my family tortured and killed before my own eyes if the rebels don’t win.”

I nodded. She didn’t have to explain to me—nobody wanted to see that. I knew the women were worried that by not getting out they would be killed, as would their families, but I was hoping that the presence of the Rumilus would turn the attention away from them.

If the rebels were rising up against the leader, it would surely cause enough chaos to distract from our arrival—at least, I hoped. I also hoped that it would be the perfect opening for my monsters and I to talk with the leader. To make changes that would appease everyone.

Before I could ask any more questions, the two girls started peppering me with theirs. I did my best to answer honestly and to disband all the lies that they had been fed. It was a lot to take in and even harder to believe, but the two girls seemed open to what I was saying.

They still stared at my monsters apprehensively, but the women could see from the way that my mates touched me that they cared for and loved me. I knew the two girls could see that my Trifecta and I were bonded.

After I finished my tale, the girl on the right clasped her hands together and breathed. “That’s amazing—so much could be different if everyone knew the truth!”

“So much will be different,” I vowed again.

They needed to believe that I was here to right the wrongs, but as time trickled by and the shuttle moved closer and closer to the Unified Capital, my anxiety began to ratchet up once more. My body tensed against my monsters, and they all reached out to calm me.

I willed my heart to quit racing. I didn’t want my Trifecta to second-guess us returning to The Above. If I was worried, they would be worried, too. I needed to be confident, focused, and on my toes, because once this hatch opened, I didn’t know what to expect.

We didn’t know what would happen, only that we had a plan and needed to follow it through. When the shuttle eventually stopped and the doors slid open, the sight before me was one I never could have guessed—a scene more gruesome than the torture publicly held in the Plaza.
