Her tongue slips between my lips, tasting of liquor and lemons.
My good hand moves to the button of her jeans and it takes me a few tries to get it undone. I’m out of practice but I try not to get frustrated. Once we’re married, I’ll be making love to her every damn chance I get.
Her dainty fingers go to work, sliding up and down my swelling shaft. The need to be inside her takes over and I pull her jeans down her legs and fight like hell to get them off when they get caught around her ankles.
Sara is laying back on the bed as I kiss my way up her thighs, teasing at the heart of her desire.
“Danny…” she croaks.
“What is it, sweetheart?”
“The room is spinning, and I think…I’m gonna be…” Suddenly she jerks upright and tries to cover her mouth a little too late as puke spews from the corners of her mouth.
Shit!
I go for the trashcan, by the bed, getting it under her chin just in time.
Holding the can for her with my prosthetic fingers, I attempt to pull her hair out of the way with my good ones, but the effort is futile.
Tears threaten to fall as she looks at me with embarrassment coloring her cheeks.
“I’m gonna go get you a washcloth, you gonna be okay?”
She nods meekly.
“I’ll be right back.”
I hurry from the bed to the bathroom and get one of the cloths hanging from the rack, running it under the cold water, and squeezing it out.
When I get back to the bed, she’s lying back on the pillows, clutching her stomach.
Without a word, I clean her mouth and attempt to wipe the vomit from her hair. She needs a shower, but I don’t think she is quite ready for one yet.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers.
“Don’t do that, Sara. Don’t apologize because you got sick. It happens to the best of us.” I smile at her. “Try to get some rest. I’m gonna go to the vending machines and see if they have some crackers.”
She nods, and I turn on the lamp, then flip the light switch off. Pulling my jeans back on I get out my wallet, hoping I have change on me.
Sara
I wish this bed would swallow me up. I am so embarrassed. I can’t believe I nearly puked all over Danny and right when things were getting good no less.
We haven’t slept together in months. When he showed up tonight and told me he had a room…I was hoping we would connect. Not that we are lacking in that department. I just miss him. I guess it is silly being we only have two more days until we are man and wife.
We’ve waited this long. What’s a few more days? I think it is sweet he came to watch over us instead of sticking around his clubhouse for his own party. It tells me that Danny is truly devoted to me. A lot of men wouldn’t do that. He could have sent one of his prospects to watch me, but he didn’t.
It means so much to me.
More than he knows.
While he’s gone to the vending machines I jump in the shower to get the puke out of my hair and make sure I brush my teeth. I don’t want to go to bed with puke breath.
When I emerge from the bathroom Danny has stripped the comforter off the bed and cleaned up after me.
Who would have thought a mean ass biker would have such a gentle heart?
On the nightstand is a bottle of Gatorade, a pack of crackers, and a package of aspirin.
“Have I told you lately how wonderful you are?” I sink down on the bed wrapped in only a towel with my damp hair dripping down my back.
He smiles at me. “Yeah, but you can tell me again.”
I manage to get down a few crackers and take the aspirin, washing it down with my drink.
Danny sheds his jeans and curls up behind me, spooning me.
A heavy yawn passes through my lips as Danny runs his fingers along my side.
“Get some sleep, baby,” he whispers, brushing his lips over my ear.
“Good night,” I whisper back.
*—*
“Mmhmm. Good morning,” I moan as Danny kisses my shoulder.
“You feeling better?” His hand comes up my side, palming my breast.
“Much.” I press my butt into his morning wood.
“Good,” He murmurs kissing down my arm, and rolling over top me.
Tossing the towel out of the way, Danny covers my body with his own.
Those sensual lips of his meet mine as he starts to make love to me.
Our reunion is quickly interrupted by a loud banging on the door to our room.
“Let’s go eat. Fuckin’ starving.”
Danny growls and bites my shoulder as another round of knocks sounds on the door.
“He isn’t going to go away, is he?”
“Nope.” Danny pops the P.
“Think we are gonna have to save ourselves for marriage,” I tease as Danny rolls away from me.
“Give me a minute, fucking cockblocker,” he grumbles at the door, going for his pants.
Chapter 6
Danny
“Asshole.” I Shove Boogeyman through the door of the diner.
“How the fuck was I supposed to know you were getting your dick wet.” He shrugs, sliding into a booth with his strange he picked up at the bar.
Sara rolls her eyes at his crudeness but keeps her mouth shut.
She slides into the opposite side of the booth sitting next to the window and I get in next her.
We all glance over the menus and wait to have our orders taken.
“Have you ate here before?” I ask her.
She shakes her head. I know her mom has been keeping her on lockdown since they decided to stay in Drag Creek. The woman would have put a stop to my coming up on the weekends if it weren't for CT. I get that she is Sara’s mom, but she’s being an unreasonable bitch. I can’t wait to get Sara away from her controlling ass.
I try to be respectful and keep my cool, but once my ring is on her finger and my patch is on her, all bets are off, and I will tell her exactly what I think of her and how she has been treating her daughter.
Her own father, son, and husband even think she is being a bitch. They have seen how hard I have worked to step up for Sara, they know I love her and that I’d die for her. She is my world.
Our waitress finally makes an appearance.
We all decide on the breakfast platters and coffee.
“What time do you need to be back to get CT?”
“I don’t know, Morgan didn’t say but I don’t want to push it. I’m sure my mom will be calling and looking for me soon.”
“As soon as we eat, I’ll take you home.”
“I’ll probably text Cole to pick me up. If mom sees you who knows what she will do. She still doesn't want us to get married, ya know.”
“How old are you?” The chick with Boogeyman questions.
“Barely legal,” Sara answers, her cheeks flushed.
“No shit?” She takes an eager drink of her coffee, burning her tongue in the process.
Sara nods with a shrug of her shoulder.
“Kinda young, aren’t you?”
I give Boogeyman a look to shut her down. We don’t need some skank he won’t ever see again to judge us. We get enough of that bullshit from Karly.
“Look darlin’, you were a decent fuck, but your pussy wasn't anything special. Don’t be sticking your nose where it don’t belong, unless you want to eat my ass. Then we'll talk. If you don’t have anything good to say, then I can shut you up with my cock in your mouth.”
The chick gasps and goes to smack him, but Boogeyman has good reflexes and catches her by the wrist before she can strike.
He gets up out of the booth pulling her with him. “Get gone, bitch. Your pussy isn’t worth the six bucks for your breakfast.”
“Fuck you, buddy!” She shrieks.
“You already did and to be honest, your pussy was a little loose.” He smirks and shakes his head as he slides back in the booth, shooting Sara a wink.
My baby burst out
laughing and it does me good to see her smile.
Our food is brought out and Sara fires off a text to her brother to pick her up. I send the waitress to get a to go box for the whore’s breakfast. Cole can have it.
It doesn’t take him long to get to the diner.
He gives Boogeyman a chin nod and offers me a fist bump.
We have had our share of bad blood, but Cole and I understand one another. We respect one another for Sara’s sake. He’s important to her so I put aside my feelings against him where my sister was concerned. They had a brief affair before he got with Morgan.
I can’t hold his past against him any more than he can hold mine against me.
“How’s my boy?” I ask.
“Dude, CT is a shitting machine. Fuck. I love the kid but damn.” He laughs, and Sara rolls her eyes. “Thanks for looking after the women last night.”
“Was my pleasure.” I smile at my woman, wishing I didn’t have to leave her yet again.
Sara holds the takeout box out to him and he says, “Sweet,” as he gets in his car.
“Gimme some sugar,” I demand, pulling her into me.
Those sweet lips meet mine and I deepen our kiss immediately. I kiss her hard, pouring my love into to every stroke of my tongue as it sweeps along hers.
“Two more days,” I remind her.
“Two days,” she whispers.
I watch them pull out of the lot then go to meet up with Boogeyman. We need to get back on the road to Tennessee.
Life in Webb Hollow doesn’t stop when I want it to.
I have a club to run and a house to prepare for my family. In two days Sara will be coming home with me and no one will stand in my way.
Sara
When I get in the car Cole gives me a look and laughs. “Did you enjoy your big night out?”
“No.” I fold my arms over my chest. “I puked all in the bed and passed out.”
“You look like shit.”
“Oh gee, thanks. Give me back that food, butthead.”
“Sara, you’re my sister and I love you but if you’re going to be married to the Prez of a club, you gotta get a bit more creative with your insults.”
“I can be mean if I want to.”
“Yeah, okay. So, let’s say some hangaround clubwhore disrespects you and makes a pass at your man. What will you do?”
I scowl at him. “I don’t know. Tell her to get lost.”
Cole shakes his head. “No. You tell her she is a cum dumpster and your man wouldn’t stick a dead man’s dick in her nasty snatch.”
“Eww.” I crinkle my face in disgust. “I don’t want to say that.”
“Well if you don't those whores will try to walk all over you, Sara. You get respect around the Roadhouse because you’re the VP’s daughter. You’ll get respect being Hades’ old lady by earning it. They aren’t going to welcome you and braid your hair and shit. Those women will hate you and want to take your place at his side. They will do everything they can to fuck with you. You gotta be prepared. I’m only telling you this shit because you need to be ready to take them on. You gotta be tough and take no shit.”
“I know. Thank you for being a good brother. I mean it, Cole. If it weren't for you and Morgan I wouldn't have made it this long under mom’s jail sentence.”
“That is something I can’t help you on. Only thing that will help is time. Mom’s stubborn and she had a different life planned out for us, I let her down. I guess she thought you’d be her shining star.” He gives me a half smile.
I know he is right, but it doesn't make it hurt any less.
I don't comment further, we will only be talking in circles.
“I’ll talk to mom but make no promises.”
I nod, not wanting to talk or think about it. I have a wedding to get ready for.
We get back to his house and the moment I see CT he smiles at me and says, “Momma.”
My heart swells and all the bad I was feeling floats away.
This little boy brings me so much joy.
“How’s Momma’s big boy?” I scoop him up from the playpen and hug him to my chest. “I missed you so much. And Daddy told me to give you a big high five from him.” I laugh as he drools.
“Did he sleep okay?” I ask Morgan as she picks up Jack to change his diaper.
“He did great. He’s had his bottle and cereal. How did things go with Danny?” She wiggles her brows at me.
“Fine if you consider puking on him right when things were getting good fun.”
“Ouch,” she hisses, trying not to laugh.
“Go ahead. Get it out of your system.” I shake my head and she bites her lip.
“No. I’m not going to laugh.” Saying is easier than doing, because she erupts into a fit of giggles. “I’m sorry, I just had a visual.” She snorts.
“Ha. Ha. So funny.”
I put CT back in the playpen and he picks up a board book and chews on the corner.
“I’m gonna change real quick then I’ll get him ready to go.”
“Sara, you don't have to be in a hurry. Your mom called, and I told her you were asleep. She was in a mood. Why don't we take the boys to the park or something and we can get lunch with Dawn? I’m supposed to meet her anyway.”
“Are you sure?” I don't want to tag along and be annoying.”
“Stop, you are never a bother and besides in two days, you’ll be a married woman and off on your new adventure. Has Danny shown you pictures of the house yet?”
“No, he wants it to be a surprise. I guess he has had his guys working hard on it. It's my wedding present from the club. Have you seen it?”
She makes the motion of zipping her lips and throwing away a key.
“Ugh. No fair.” I pout.
“Well, he wanted my opinion. You’re going to be so happy, Sara. Truly. I’m going to miss you, but Danny’s not bad. He isn't like his sister and Marek were.” Her chest shudders at the mention of those two. Morgan and I bonded over our hate for them and joy in their deaths. Danny loved his sister but even he knows she was a basket case.
Chapter 7
Sara
“This is it. Your big day. The day you become an old lady. I can’t believe you are really going through with this, but you have my support. Mom is still coming to terms with your choice, but it comes from a good place. You know she just worries about you.”
“Thanks, Cole. I just hate that she won’t be there today. She didn’t even show up to help Morgan and Harley with the decorations.” A tear slides down my cheek.
“Hey, don’t cry. You’ll ruin your makeup.” Cole gives me a crooked smile and hands me his bandana.
“Is dad coming?”
My brother shoves his hands in his pockets. “He got mom to sign the papers but I’m sorry. No. But I’m here and I will walk you down the aisle.”
“Thanks, Cole.” More tears fall. I can’t stop them.
“That’s what fart breath brothers are for, right?” He nudges my knee with his. “So, you ready to do this?”
I wipe away my tears, suppressing the urge to laugh at my old name for him. It seems like so long ago we were in California and always fighting over trivial stuff. And now look at us. Cole is married with a new baby and I am getting married and I have a baby too. CT may not be mine by blood but he’s mine in my heart. I helped bring him into the world. I'm all he knows. If my mom can’t be happy for me, then I don’t want her here anyway.
“Before I forget. Morgan and I want to keep CT for the next week. So you and Danny can spend some time together as newlyweds and you can get settled. I’ll drive him down myself Saturday.”
“Are you sure? A week. That’s a big commitment.”
“Don’t worry. You know he will be fine. I already talked it over with Danny, he said it is up to you.”
A week with Danny to myself does sound tempting...too tempting.
“Okay, but I want video calls every morning and again before bedtime. I don't want him thinking I abandoned
him.”
“You got it, sis.”
I stand up and look myself over in the mirror one last time. Correcting my makeup where my tears have left streaks.
“You’re a vision,” my other grandpa, Romeo, says from the doorway. “Can you give us minute?” He looks to Cole.
Cole nods. “I’ll be waiting and I’m ready when you are.”
“Thanks, Cole.”
“Seeing you right now really takes me back. You look a lot like your mom, but you shine on your own, kid.”
“Thanks.”
“I have something for you.” He digs into his pants pockets and brings out a blue velvet box. “I bought this for your mom a long time ago. Never even gave it to her, but I thought it’d look right at home around your neck.”
I open the box and see a rosary style chain, holding a large yellowish orange stone.
“It’s beautiful. Would you?” I lift my hair to the side and he secures it around my neck.
“Really brings out your eyes.”
Holding the stone to my chest, I try not to tear up again. “Thank you. I love it.”
“I’m glad you like it. Wish nothing but the best for you today and every day. Danny better be good to you, because if he isn’t I’ll stomp a mudhole in his ass.” He chuckles.
“I’ll keep that in mind and let him know.”
“No need. Already had a chat with him after Grim got through with him.” He grins, stroking his silver goatee.
Poor Danny.
Some small part of me hopes my mom will change her mind. I keep thinking that any minute now she will come through the door and apologize or at least wish me well.
However, she doesn’t, and I don't want to keep Danny waiting.
Danny
I’m waiting anxiously at the altar for Sara. The Black Rebel Riders’ MC sits on one side of the aisle while my club, the Devils Rejects sit on the other. So far things have been civil. There are some members of the Born Sinners scattered throughout the guests as designated peacekeepers. Not that I expect any trouble today. Today is a day of celebration. A day that truly unites our clubs.
Cupid, Boogeyman, and Reaper stand off to my side, serving as my best men. Across from us are Harley, Morgan, and Kenadee. I think she’s Kurt’s daughter. I don’t really know him, just know he’s a member of BRRMC.
