“Now, Marlo! Now! Come now, baby!” Fane yelled out, and Marlo’s orgasm raced through him like a locomotive. He cried out around the cock in his mouth as his body convulsed and bucked, his seed spraying over his abs. He felt the wetness drip down his thighs and then his mouth was being filled with Fane’s cum. Marlo swallowed as fast as he could, not wanting to miss a drop.

Fane’s grip on his head tightened as his pelvis froze against his lips, Fane’s body going taut and stiff as he screamed out Marlo’s name with his release. Just when Marlo was about to fight, not being able to breathe, Fane slowly pulled back as his hold on Marlo’s head loosened. The cock slipped from between his lips and Marlo panted heavily, drawing in breath after breath. He relaxed down onto the pillow, his body spent, and he leaned forward, resting his cheek against Fane’s sweaty thigh. Fane ran his fingers through Marlo’s hair tenderly and he hummed in pleasure.

The muscular flesh against his cheek moved away and Fane’s lips covered his. Marlo opened for the kiss, loving how gentle and loving Fane was, like Marlo was the most precious thing in the world.

Fane broke the kiss. “You’re a dream come true, little love. You’re everything I could want in a life partner, a mate, and more. Gods, I love you so much, baby,” Fane whispered against his lips, then gave him another quick kiss. Fane slid the blindfold from his head and pulled Marlo against his chest and wrapped Marlo in his arms. Marlo loved when Fane held him. He felt so safe and complete. Content.

“Just a moment holding you, little love, then I’ll help you up and clean you before we go lie down in bed, and cuddle until we’re rested.”

Marlo hummed his approval as he wiggled deeper into Fane’s embrace. “Thank you, love, for helping me to get out of my head and relax. I feel much better now,” Marlo said.

“I’m so glad, baby.” Fane placed a kiss on his head and tightened his hold. Marlo was in heaven and he didn’t want to move.

  CHAPTER 4

  Fane

He had hoped to help his mate relax, but Fane didn’t realize how well his plan would work. After they napped for half an hour, they got up and showered, then redressed and headed back out to the living room. When Fane saw that they still had some time before Ridge and Caleb arrived, he didn’t want Marlo getting stressed again, so he pulled his mate to the couch and they settled in with Marlo cuddling up against his side, his mate’s head on his shoulder. Fane loved touching Marlo and holding his man. Marlo just made him feel complete and content.

“Are you two done? Is it safe for me to come out, or are you going to use the living room now?” Oberon asked from the hallway, and Fane smiled.

“It’s safe. We’re only lying here naked wondering what position to fuck in next, so you can come out while we decide,” Marlo said seriously, causing Fane to throw his head back and laugh. Gods, he loved Marlo’s smart mouth and quick wit. Life with his man was going to be an adventure.

Oberon stepped into the room and came around the couch, then dropped down into the chair across from them, and smirked. “You do realize seeing you two naked on the couch wouldn’t make me shy away, right? Hell, warning, if I walk in and catch you fucking, I’m making popcorn and pulling up a chair.”

Marlo giggled and moved in closer against him. “I guess that’s fair. Seeing as the three of us will be living together now, I’m sure you’re going to hear your fair share of moans, groans, and me begging my man to fuck me hard with that ginormous cock of his, so hey, it’s all good,” Marlo replied, his voice coming out as if he was so nonchalant about it, but Fane could feel his little mate’s body shaking slightly against him, and knew Marlo was teasing and trying to hold in his laughter.

“Motherfucker, the mouth on you. You’re one lucky bastard, Fane, you know that, right? Geez, your mate is gonna make me come just from putting that image in my head,” Oberon said with a groan, and reached down and adjusted his crotch.

“You get a fucking hard on from my mate and I’ll tear your eyes and ears off, O,” Fane threatened, with just a hint of a growl in his voice.

“Hey, he started it. Well, maybe you started it from what I heard earlier. I can’t help it if I hear what you’re up to. These walls are not that thick and you two are loud. Maybe you should try to keep it down knowing someone else is in the house.”

Marlo burst out laughing, the sound bright, merry, and full of joy. Fane loved hearing how happy his mate was. Marlo controlled himself a bit, and replied, “Hell no! That is so not happening. First of all, we’re both Tundra Wolves, fucking is in our nature, and fucking whenever the desire strikes, no matter who is around or where we are, is part of being who we are. And secondly, my mate is a damn beast in bed, and there is no damn way I am going to be able to hold in the pleasure that he rocks my world with. Being an omega means no one but my own hand has touched me, and I am tired of masturbating or fucking myself with a dildo. Okay, I’ll probably keep doing that, but now that I have found my mate, the Master of my body, I have a lot of time to make up for,” Marlo admitted honestly, making Fane smile as he filled with pride. Hearing Marlo declare to his best friend that Fane was the Master of his body and how much pleasure he gave Marlo, made him feel like a king.

“Gods damn, man, you really did hit the lottery in the mate department,” Oberon replied.

Fane gave Oberon a smile as he tightened his hold around Marlo and kissed his head. “Yes, I did and I couldn’t be more grateful to the Gods for giving me such a treasure.”

Marlo melted against him, giving Fane the sweetest smile and making the man’s heart fill more. All Marlo had to do was look at him like he was now and Fane would give his mate the world if he asked.

“Oh Lord, you two are so sugary sweet and romantic, you’re making my teeth hurt,” Oberon grumbled as he leaned back further in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest.

Marlo turned to look at Oberon again and shrugged. “Sorry, it’s all part of being a Tundra Wolf as well, especially those of us fortunate enough to find their true mates. Once you fall in love with your mate, life is just all about them. You think we’re gushy, you should see Alex and his men, or Jag and Bo. Oh, Ridge and Caleb are probably the gushiest. Wait until you meet them. Their story is probably the most romantic I have ever heard.”

“I have met them, remember? But I don’t recall anything romantic about them. Just that Caleb was one fierce little fucker and he had even me being cautious,” Oberon replied.

Fane looked down at Marlo with lowered brows. “Ridge? Really? I never would have figured my cousin for a romantic.”

Marlo sat up and looked at him, as he replied, “Yes, Ridge. Their story is so romantic and wonderful. Caleb is so head over heels in love with Ridge, and from what I’ve seen and heard, the feeling is mutual. But then again, it shouldn’t be a surprise. It is said that our true mates are made to be perfect for us and seeing as I found you and we’re so perfectly matched, it’s proof that everything we’ve heard about true mates is true.”

“What makes their story so special?” Oberon asked, and Fane nodded. He was in total agreement with that question and was now really curious.

Marlo’s eyes widened as he looked between them. “You don’t know?” When he and Oberon both shook their heads no, Marlo continued. “Wow, it was incredible and the first of its kind, so I thought their story would spread to other packs.”

“That may be true, little love, but you have to remember, O and I were with a vampire nest, not with a pack,” Fane said as he slid his hand over Marlo’s and clasped their hands.

“Oh, right. Sorry, sometimes I do forget that. Well, their story is one of a kind and has brought greater hope to paranormals about finding their true mates.”

“Now I really gotta know. Tell us their story,” Oberon said.

Marlo shifted so that he was sitting forward, but still pressed against Fane’s side. “Well, it all started with talks of a treaty between the York and Heart packs. Ridge’s dad, Alpha Hiram, and our old alpha, Mark were supposed
to meet in the region between their two territories, but Alpha Mark’s mate, Caleb and Dell’s mom, Delilah, was close to her due date, and Alpha Mark didn’t want to leave her, so Alpha Hiram came here to have the meeting. He brought his betas with him as well as Ridge, because he was training Ridge on how to take over the pack someday, and he wanted him involved, and to also meet Alpha Mark and Dell, who would be the York Alpha someday. They figured it would be a good time to introduce Ridge and Dell, even though Dell was still a young boy at the time, but seeing as they would most likely be dealing with each other in the future the two alphas wanted them to start getting used to one another.

“Anyway, while they were having their meeting, Delilah went into labor. Without question, the meeting stopped and everyone began to pace the floors awaiting the baby’s arrival. From what Alpha Mark told me, that was the first step for him in realizing that Alpha Hiram was a good man and he could trust him. He also said he could see that Ridge was a lot like Hiram and it gave him hope for all their futures. Now, nobody is quite sure how it happened, whether it was the midwife coming in to announce that Alpha Mark had a son and had the babe’s smell on her, or if it was the babe’s scent was strong throughout the house because of just being born, but Ridge scented his mate.”

  “Okay, so?” Oberon asked.

Marlo shot Oberon a duh face. “Were you not paying attention? The babe was just born. That baby was Caleb,” Marlo announced.

Suddenly the realization of what Marlo was saying hit him, and Fane couldn’t have been more shocked or confused. “Wait a minute. You’re telling me that Ridge could scent that the newborn baby was his true mate? But how? That’s not possible,” Fane argued.

Marlo shrugged again as he smiled. “Impossible or not, it’s what happened.”

“I don’t understand the big deal,” Oberon said curiously.

“As Tundra Wolves we don't come into our full being until we hit the age of twenty-five and that is when our true scent begins. No one should have been able to scent anything but wolf on Caleb when he was born. They shouldn’t have even been able to tell what type of wolf, like alpha, beta, etc.,” Fane explained.

“Exactly, but Ridge scented his mate. As I said, everyone is still unsure of why exactly, but they have their theories, including because of Ridge being a full alpha with both his birth father and his surrogate mother being alphas, and both were from one of the original family lines from back in the old country. As we talked about before, mate, because of their lineage, both Dell and Ridge are massive wolves with enhanced abilities, smell being one of them.”

“So, Ridge found his mate the day Caleb was born? That’s why their alliance started, huh?” Fane asked.

“Not exactly. As I said, they were already discussing peace between the two packs, one reason being because of the history about the Reckoning. Both alphas were hoping that by forming their alliance, it would give both their packs more opportunities to find their true mates. Opening the dating pool so to speak. But once Caleb was born and they knew Ridge was telling the truth, it kind of solidified their commitment to the cause. It also made both alphas realize that it would mean that their packs would be joined together in the future no matter what they did. That’s when they came up with the plan of joining the two packs to become sister packs so that when the Purge came, both packs would still have leadership and still be in the family.”

“What does that mean?” Oberon asked.

“Wolf law states that no one can claim a mate legally until after they are both of age at twenty-five. So, if the Purge didn’t come before Caleb became of age, he would be able to mate Ridge. Which meant that the Purge would come after their mating. If by the time the Purge came and Dell hadn’t found his true mate yet, then Dell would fall victim and wouldn’t be able to lead the York pack either way, even if he was the alpha at the time of the Reckoning. So, then Ridge would step in as alpha of both packs. Because of Caleb’s lineage to the York pack, the members who were left after the purge would accept Ridge as their new alpha because of Caleb. Now if Dell does find his true mate and claims him before the Purge, and both alphas survive, because of their alliance and Caleb’s connection, both packs would have a better chance of survival and continuing on after the Purge. We’ll be there to help protect each other,” Marlo clarified.

“So that’s why they bought up the land between both packs and legally became sister packs,” Fane stated.

  “Exactly.”

“So how does that make their story so romantic?” Oberon asked, as he sat forward.

“Think about it,” Marlo said. “Ridge scented his mate at birth, but couldn’t stake any kind of claim on him until Caleb became of age at twenty-five.”

What Marlo said dawned on Oberon at the same time it did on Fane and they both gasped as their eyes widened. “Holy shit, talk about blue balls,” Oberon exclaimed.

  “No shit,” Fane whispered.

Marlo giggled. “It’s not like Ridge had any sexual attraction to Caleb as a babe you perves. It just meant that he knew his true mate was alive and that when Caleb became of age they could mate.”

“Yes, but how did Ridge last that long? The minute I met you I wanted to claim you, little love. I had to fight my wolf like crazy for him to calm down and not pounce on you. If I had to wait twenty-five years, I don’t think I would have been able to, or I might have literally gone insane waiting.”

“Caleb’s scent subsided in the days after his birth, so that’s why they think it had something to do with the birth itself and the new scent in the house and why it was so strong to Ridge. But then Ridge shocked everyone when he told them he didn’t want anyone to tell Caleb about having a true mate until Caleb came of age. He insisted they all make a promise. He wanted Caleb to have the most normal life he could without having to stress over having a mate out there somewhere,” Marlo said.

“Wow, that was... selfless of him. But why would he not want... Sorry, I don’t get it,” Oberon replied.

“What if it was you? What if your whole life from the time you were little and could understand, people told you all about true mates and what that meant, and that you had one waiting out there somewhere? That they already knew who he was and where he was? True mates are loyal and they don’t cheat. Even if they could have relationships with others before the claiming and it wouldn’t be considered cheating, what would Caleb have done? Would he have let that rule his life and not form relationships because of it? If he knew he had a mate already, then Caleb’s life may have been different. He may not have worked so hard to be who he is. He may have lived a lonely existence, thinking that even looking at another man would be betraying his mate. Ridge is the one who thought of all of that and pointed it out. He didn’t want that for Caleb. Even though it was hard, with the realization that it meant Caleb may have sexual relations with other men as he got older, Ridge didn’t want Caleb to experience any kind of pain or anguish. He was already protecting his mate. But, he did insist that he be given reports about how Caleb was doing throughout his life and he even wrote Caleb a letter every year on his birthday and sent it to Alpha Mark to hold onto. Ridge also insisted that the letters not be given to Caleb until he was older and could handle them.”

“But wouldn’t the letters alone cause Caleb to experience pain with knowing he had a mate out there?” Fane asked.

Marlo shook his head. “No. That’s why Ridge didn’t want Caleb to get the letters until he was at least nineteen, twenty, and Ridge never wrote anything about their connection in the letters, so Caleb still wouldn’t have known they were from his mate. Ridge never even signed the letters. When Caleb turned sixteen and had finished school and was about to start his warrior training full time, Alpha Mark had scented the change in Caleb and got worried, so he decided it was time to give Caleb the fifteen letters that he had been holding onto, plus the new one that had come for Caleb’s sixteenth birthday.”

“Why was he concerned? And scent change?” Oberon asked, his gaze foc
used on Marlo. Fane could see his friend was just as engaged in this story as he was.

“Remember I said Tundra Wolves don’t get their true scent until they hit full maturity at twenty-five?” Marlo asked, and he and Oberon both nodded.

“Well, when Caleb turned sixteen Alpha Mark scented a small change in Caleb’s scent. Until then his scent was fully beta, but then Alpha Mark got a whiff of gamma on Caleb.”

Fane whistled as the realization of those words hit him.

  “Exactly,” Marlo said to him.

  “What?” O asked.

“One of the best pairings in our world is that between a full alpha and a beta/gamma mix,” Fane replied. “Most alphas look for that combination when seeking out a mate, and for Ridge to have his true mate be that mix just proves the bastard is lucky.”

“I still don’t get it,” Oberon stated.

“Alphas are Dominant and will always have some form of submissive mate, but the combination of beta/gamma is perfectly suited to good alphas. Ones who don’t want a fully submissive mate or doormat, like what most omegas are. With the exception of my baby here,” Fane said happily and hugged Marlo.

“So, Caleb wouldn’t be a doormat, okay, still not understanding it,” O replied.

“Being a beta, especially one like Caleb who is a bloodline to two of the original families and son of the York alpha, who was mated to his true mate, meant that Caleb would be trained well in combat, but would also be taught how to lead a pack just in case he needed to step in for the alpha at some point. Caleb was trained to be a fierce warrior—one of the best in the region. He’s even more intense than Jude. Alpha Mark and Dell both trained Caleb well and he became one hell of a beast in fighting and protection. He’s a master with all the weapons we use and can train anyone else to be just as good. A beta’s job is to defend the alpha. To protect him at all costs, even if that means giving his own life to do that. So, Caleb being probably the fiercest beta around would be a perfect match for Ridge in that aspect. He could defend his Alpha Mate and his pack better than anyone, but also help Ridge lead his pack,” Marlo explained.
