Chapter One
Jade Tanner sat in her exquisitely designed office, looking out the window at the panorama of city lights spread out before her.
She was bored with her life, bored with the empire she had created – Jade Cosmetics and Tanner Industries. She had just finished a meeting with the marketing department about naming a new red lipstick. They had come up with the name Rivet Red. She thought it sounded like someone had riveted your lips together so they bled red. While it might appeal to the minority, it wouldn’t appeal to the majority of consumers. Hiding her annoyance at her staff, she had quickly squashed the idea and told them to come up with something better by tomorrow.
Then she had watched a photo shoot of models made outrageously beautiful with her new line of eye shadows and liners called Kafe. She was so bored that she found herself yawning throughout the entire thing. Now in her office, her desk piled high with ads that required her approval, letters to be signed, and photographs of models to look through, she wanted it all to go away. At thirty-eight years old, Jade was beautiful, her glossy black hair hanging down to her shoulders and green cat-like eyes that made her look like an exotic jungle cat ready to pounce at a moment’s notice.
Stretching, she glanced at her watch and saw it was quarter past seven. Time to go home.
In the back of the town car, she watched ordinary people walking by on the streets accomplishing their ordinary things that kept their lives going. Their lives were so different from hers with all her accomplishments and the vast amount of wealth she had acquired over a few short years. But were they happier than her? Lately she had become disinterested in her work and life seemed to have lost its meaning. She was simply going through the motions to distract herself in order not to notice how truly lonely she was. The car stopped in front of her high rise. The driver came round, opened the door and helped her out.
Once safe in the confines of her ultra-modern condo she mixed a gin and tonic, idly flicking through the channels on her kitchen television. She paused at a shock talk show with an over-exuberant host. His guest was a stunningly beautiful young woman who Jade soon realized, as she listened to the conversation, was a porn star.
Sitting on one of her bar stools, she turned up the volume as she listened to the young woman talk about the virtues of her profession and how truly empowering she found it.
Jade almost choked on her drink. “Empowering my ass.”
Twylla Star, as she called herself, was exquisite. She wore an extremely low cut dress which gave more than a teasing glimpse of her satiny smooth breasts and was tantalizingly short, displaying her shapely legs to their best advantage. Jade’s groin tensed with desire and her lips tingled as she imagined kissing and licking the young woman’s barely hidden breasts. She was literally salivating at the thought. Man, I must be horny, she thought to herself, considering the woman stood for all she was against. Embarrassed with her sexual response to the young woman, she turned off her television.
“I must be really hard up.” First opportunity she had, she promised herself, she would go and get fucked long and hard.
Looking in the fridge but not really seeing anything she wanted, she decided to skip supper and make herself another drink. Two was her limit on a weeknight. Carrying her drink in her hand she went into her office.
She reached over and switched on her laptop. While it booted up she got changed in her bedroom into a pair of sweats and a tank top. Coming back to her office, she logged onto her computer, bringing up some financial reports she’d emailed before leaving work.
As she looked over the reports, Jade’s thoughts kept going back to Twylla Star, fantasizing about her. She found herself typing Twylla Star into the search engine.
She hit images and clicked on one showing the young woman on her back with her legs spread wide apart displaying her beautiful shaved pussy with lusciously trimmed pink lips. Her breasts pushed over the top of her lacy bra were sensational – rounded, firm with perfectly centered rosy nipples. Jade leaned towards the screen wishing she could take those perky teasing nipples into her mouth delighting in their texture as she sucked on them.
The reports forgotten, she lost herself looking at picture after picture of Twylla, then stumbled across a free video of the porn star getting her pussy licked. The lust that poured into Jade’s veins was like liquid nitrogen – highly explosive. It made her so horny she could barely stand it.
Starting the video again, she slipped her fingers down between her legs and stroked herself until she trembled to an explosive, glorious climax, her head lolling over the back of her office chair. She imagined it was her tongue between Twylla’s legs, tasting her beautiful sweet pussy, licking that erotic pink clit and sucking those perfect rosy pink nipples.
After the orgasm, though, she felt empty, dissatisfied, lonely. She had garnered intense enjoyment watching Twylla and the other woman lick each other to a climax, but Jade wished it were her lying under the beautiful young woman’s tongue. She glanced at the clock and saw it was already half past eleven. If she wanted to be up at five for her early morning jog she’d better get to bed.
Flicking through a couple more erotic pictures, she stopped at one of them, enjoying the image of Twylla naked, her legs spread eagle, so she could enjoy her pussy in all its glory. Reaching out, she stroked the screen between the woman’s legs wishing it were the real thing. She made the picture her wallpaper knowing she would enjoy seeing that picture perfect pussy every time she logged on.
She took one last lingering look at this beautiful young woman smiling so happily at the camera as she displayed herself. Jade could almost taste her on her tongue. She swallowed hard, wishing it were Twylla’s sweet fluids she was swallowing as she logged off the computer.
She showered then and, once rinsed clean from the grime of the day, went to bed. It took a long time to fall asleep that night and when she did she dreamed of a young woman with long chestnut colored hair and eyes the color of golden sherry.
Chapter Two
Arising at five o’clock, Jade was out jogging by quarter past with her running partner, Gavin Wilson. Running through the park they chatted about business and personal things. G
avin was not only her lawyer but also her friend. His beautiful young wife was one of the models who worked for her. They had just had their first child, a baby girl called Sabrina. Jade knew one of the things Gavin enjoyed about her the most was her sharp intellect. She was one of the very few women who could actually play with the big boys and win.
It was her business that had enabled Gavin to start his own law firm. Wilson, Stetchman and Killman were one of the top corporate law firms in the city. She had him on permanent retainer with her company.
As they neared the end of their run they lapsed into companionable silence. Turning up the street toward her building, she found herself distracted with thoughts of Twylla’s beautiful Monet face and sensational curvy body. She wanted to look at her again and fantasize about stroking each and every crevice of that beautiful, young, firm flesh. It was like she could almost feel the heat from her golden skin underneath her hands. This morning she wouldn’t have time to slip away into fantasy. Still, she would log onto her computer and view the nude wallpaper of the luscious girl. Images of a naked Twylla danced through her spinning mind. The more she tried to block the thoughts out the more they came. She wondered what it would be like to have Twylla’s undulating body come on her tongue. Sexual tension wound tightly through Jade’s body like a coiled spring as she imagined all the wonderful, lovely, erotic things she’d love to do with her. The sharp sound of a car horn knocked her out of her reverie. She glanced quickly at Gavin to see if he had noticed her temporary fugue. Preoccupied with finishing the last leg of the run, he hadn’t noticed she had momentarily disconnected from the real world.
Jade was puzzled as to why she was so smitten with this woman. She worked with beautiful women all the time, all with stunning bodies. She could have her pick of any of them. Many of the models had made it abundantly clear to her that they would be more than happy to service her sexual needs. She always declined. Now this woman she had never met but only seen briefly on a television program was occupying her mind more than she should. What had triggered this particular brand of sickness in her?
Reaching the front lobby doors, she and Gavin hugged each other, saying good-bye. Once in her condo she headed for her kitchen and made coffee, taking the cup into her living room with its expansive windows. Ignoring the beautiful early morning view of Central Park, she sipped her coffee while she thought about Twylla.
Jade desperately wanted her.
Glancing at her watch she saw it was already quarter to seven. If she were to make it into the office for her nine o’clock appointment she’d better get a move on. Bringing her cup of coffee with her into her office, she turned the computer on and logged in. She admired the exquisite nude image for several moments before she tore herself away, heading for the shower.
Once in the shower her fantasy world crept in again. Soon she was lost in a reverie where she and Twylla starred as two leading ladies, doing incredible things to each other in the shower. Jade could almost feel the wet silkiness of Twylla’s skin underneath her hands, stroking and caressing her, cupping and fondling those magnificent breasts. She imagined herself tasting and touching with her tactile tongue as she worked her way down to the magic sweet spot between Twylla’s sensational, sexy legs. The throbbing between her legs became so intense she’d have to administer some much needed relief. Slipping her fingers between her legs she could feel the hard nub of her erect clitoris as she stroked herself to an exquisite, earth shaking orgasm, her cries echoing off the steamy tiles. Afterward she stood, her knees shaking slightly, hot water running down her sated body, bemused that she was so attracted to this fantasy woman. She was not one easily infatuated.
Jade’s upbringing had been unconventional. Never mainstream, she had always known she was destined for greatness.
When her mom Catherine, a runaway, found out she was pregnant at the tender age of seventeen, she returned home to the farm she hated and stayed there during her pregnancy. Esther, Catherine’s mom and Jade’s grandmother, had worried secretly about the damage that may have been done to the unborn child by Catherine’s lifestyle before she realized she was pregnant. But, at least by having her back at the farm she could ensure Catherine stayed clean and sober.
Catherine claimed to not know who Jade’s father was, which may have been true, but she had been so sure Jade’s eyes would be green that she insisted the baby be called Jade before she was born.
Catherine left one week before Jade’s first birthday on June 7th, never to be seen again. Esther tried to find her but the world had simply swallowed Catherine up whole. There was nothing left to find. Jade barely noticed the absence of the mother who at best was a temperamental playmate and at worst a tyrannical parent. Her grandmother, though stern and unemotional, was at least consistent and provided stability for her.
Raised on a farm in Fremont, Iowa, she had attended the local grade school until it became apparent she was well advanced beyond her years. Reading had come easily to her and at age two she had started reading stories to herself with absolutely no tuition. Her math skills were phenomenal and she would often correct her grandmothers bookkeeping for the farm. The school convinced Jade’s grandmother to have her tested and her I.Q. was off the charts. The only school that could come close to the specialized curriculum she needed was in Des Moines. This would mean over three hours of driving per day for Esther and, with a farm to run, it wasn’t in the cards. Instead Esther pulled Jade out of school and enrolled her in correspondence courses. Jade couldn’t have been happier with this choice.
At school she had found relating to kids her own age difficult. The other students had thought that with her straight glossy black hair, green eyes and precise manner of speaking, she was from another country, no matter how hard she tried to explain that she wasn’t.
Leaving the public classroom behind and enrolling in correspondence classes had been a huge relief to her. She no longer needed to worry about fitting in or puzzling out the complex social rituals that had already been taking shape in grade school.
She was an exceptional student and excelled at her studies, where she gobbled up the course curriculum the way some kids gobble up candy.
It was an isolated life though. Instead of playing with kids her age, she was helping with the accounts, working in the garden, and when she wasn’t doing that she was reading voraciously. Isolated it might have been, but she didn’t feel lonely at all. All she seemed to need was her own company.
At age thirteen Jade graduated from high school with honors and had already taken several college courses that she aced. She was quickly accepted at Harvard where she obtained her MBA.
One guilty pleasure she enjoyed was the glossy magazine ads of impossibly beautiful women selling the products that supposedly made them that beautiful. Looking at the faces of these gorgeous models, she realized magic could be sold in a bottle and while the world was saturated with cosmetics, Jade was confident hers would stand above them all.
She completed her MBA and BSc at Harvard with flying colors, graduating as valedictorian at the tender age of eighteen. A couple of years later she met her business partner, Holly, who was five years her senior.
Working hard together, they built up the name Jade Cosmetics into an international institution. After only a few years, the name of Jade Cosmetics was synonymous with quality and beauty and she was at the top of her game. Holly brought the people skills to the table while Jade’s ferocious intelligence coupled with her work ethic enabled her to come up with some of the most innovative products in the cosmetic industry.
Then in 2000 she was dealt a blow she wasn’t prepared to deal with. Her best friend and business partner was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of thirty-one. Nothing could be done for her, no matter how much Jade raged and cried over it.
She bought a house out in South Hampton on Gin Lane so Holly could smell the ocean air and taste the tang of salt in the wind. Holly died in October 2002. Not in the house in South Hampton that she had grown to love
so much, but in a dismal, sterile hospital room. In the final stages of her life she had developed pneumonia and had sunk into a coma. Jade had been by her side holding her hand as she drew her last breath. It had been too painful to say goodbye, so she had simply whispered, “I’ll see you later.” Holly’s ashes had been scattered across the ocean as she had wanted, and Jade liked to think that her spirit was soaring freely and happily on the ocean breezes. And now here it was October again, the tenth anniversary of Holly’s death.
One time on a business trip Jade and Holly had trespassed over the boundaries of their friendship and made love to each other. It had been in Paris, where they had met with some distributors for an evening out. The wine had flowed freely and then someone had pulled out a bowl filled with marijuana that had been laced with something.
Stumbling back up to their rooms, she had pulled Holly into her arms and onto the bed. Jade would never forget how wonderful it had felt to make love to her, taste her sweetness and smell the scent of her sex between her legs. The feel of Holly’s body as it quivered against her tongue in the throes of an orgasm had been ecstasy to her. Holly had reciprocated with the same level of enthusiasm.
In the morning, hung-over, they woke curled up against each other in Jade’s bed, the taste of each other still on their tongues. Shocked, both agreed that it had been a onetime drug-and alcohol-fuelled event. For a while the awkwardness had put a dampener on their friendship but, in a few weeks, things were relatively back to normal.
After Holly’s death, Jade realized that she had been in love with her and had been too weak to acknowledge it. The bitterness of finally admitting this to herself was like a second wave of grieving. She suspected strongly that Holly had felt the same way, but for one reason or another neither of them would cross that invisible barrier. It had seemed better to chalk it up to a wild night of carousing and drug use than to admit what they felt for each other. Maybe if Holly had lived eventually they would have but now it was forever too late.
