Forever and Almost Always Page 18

by Bennett, Amanda

It had been ten years since I had seen this man, and he still had the power to get me naked in no time at all. When his hot breath grazed across my most sensitive area, my knees began to buckle and he had to hold me up, to keep me from falling.

“I’ve got you.” He whispered into my inner thigh and a sigh escaped my throat.

I was going to stop him I swear I was. But the minute his tongue made contact with my clit, I was a goner. His tongue stroked it in small circular motions at first, and then quickly picked up the pace. I was close to falling off the edge when his teeth grazed my hardened nub. Within seconds, he was fully undressed and standing in front of me. He pushed my hair back behind my ears, as he stared into my eyes. Then his hands fell to his sides, sliding them under my legs and picking me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist as tight as possible, knowing I was in for a rough ride.

He slowly slid me down his rock hard cock, and when I was completely stretched around him, he started to make his way out to the glass wall patio. He pressed my body against the sliding glass door, and started moving in and out of me. My nails dug into his back as I felt every sensation possible. My mind went back to the happy times. The times when we would have sex anywhere and everywhere, no matter who was around. I felt alive again, and it was all because of the man that was currently inside of me. He had a way of wrecking me. He captivated me and captured my heart without even trying. It was a quality to be admired. He possessed every part of me, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I threw my head back in pure bliss, as my walls began to tighten around him. My body was bouncing as he thrust into me, as though this would be our last time together. I tightly wrapped my arms around his neck and let out an earth-shattering moan, followed by his name. Dax was quick to follow, shouting out my name as well, and I couldn’t help but smile. Sex with Dax was mind blowing, and I could say with one hundred percent certainty that he had only gotten better with age.

Dax kept me pinned against the glass as we both tried to even out our breathing. His head was resting on my shoulder, his sweat dripping from his face down my back and I was loving every second of it. A few minutes later, Dax lowered me to my feet and pulled me back inside.

“Nobody else needs to see you like that.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you serious right now? You just fucked me out on the balcony for the entire world to see.”

“Correction, not the entire world. Only those who were on the beach at that given time, and that’s exactly why I had my back to them and not yours.” His fingers slid through my hair, tucking it behind my ear and sending a shiver down my spine.

I walked back over to the door and pulled the two hanging bathrobes from the closet, and tossed one to Dax. I fastened mine before making my way back over to him. He was standing against the fireplace, staring out across the ocean. I had to admit, it was an amazingly awesome view, but I was enjoying my view of him far more.

  “Dax?”

“Just wait. Not yet.” He grabbed my arm, pulling me under his and tucking me close to his body. “Just enjoy the sunset with me first, then we can talk.”

I simply nodded in agreement and placed my hand on his chest. Never in a million years did I think Dax Harper, would be in my hotel room, in a different state. The sky turned every shade of red and pink as we stood there in complete silence watching every minute of the sunset. I could hear Dax’s heart beating under my ear and it sounded frantic, erratic even. That’s when I started to worry.

I knew he had a wife, yet I just had sex with him and still had no regrets or remorse about it. I was a horrible person, and now he would know that too. My mind was busy going a million miles a minute, when Dax pulled me over to the couch. He grabbed a bottle of wine from the in room fridge, and proceeded to pour us both a glass, before he took a seat next to me.

“Okay, take a drink and then we will talk.”

I took a big gulp of the refreshing drink in my hand, and then turned to look at Dax who was busy downing his entire glass. “Thirsty?”

He just shook his head and poured himself another glass. “Okay, shoot.”

“Dax, what are you doing here?”

He let out a loud sigh. “I wish I knew the answer to that, Charlee. All I know, is when Taylor text me to tell me where you would be this weekend, I couldn’t not come. I’ve regretted not seeing you everyday since you left. I just couldn’t get the image of you that night out of my head.”

“Wait, what do you mean that night?”

“I followed you that night.” He took another long drink before continuing. “I watched you leave the hotel with Taylor, and then I followed you guys to the bar. I even sat in the parking lot for a while. I actually got out of my truck and was going to go over to you, but I didn’t. That’s how badly I needed to see you. And everyday since, I have been a wreck. This was something I needed to do for me. I needed to know.”

“To know what? That I still care for you? That you could still have me?”

He turned towards me and grabbed my hands. His thumb began stroking the back of them and I instantly relaxed. “That’s not it at all, Charlee and you know that.”

“Then what is it, Dax. The last time we talked you made it pretty clear that you didn’t want to talk to me anytime soon. What changed?”

He quickly stood and began pacing. He was frustrated, but I needed answers just as I always did. “What does it matter? It’s not like you were saying no.”

“I’M NOT MARRIED!” The minute I shouted those words, my hands flew up to my mouth, trying to cover up the mistake I had just made. His head snapped back in my direction and shock took over his expression.

“What do you mean? What does that mean, Charlee?”

I took in a deep breath. “I have never been married, Dax. I lied to you. Trust me, I didn’t want to, but you were going on and on about your wife and I just felt awful. What was I supposed to say?” I could feel the tears welling up behind my eyes, and I wasn’t in the mood to have him see me cry. “Maybe you should just go. Go back to your hotel, or your room or whatever.”

He slowly made his way over to me, taking me in his arms as the tears began to fall down my face. “Why would you tell me you were married? I don’t understand, Charlee.” He spoke so low, that I was starting to relax in his arms.

“I don’t know. You seemed so happy and concerned about your wife, and I figured if I told you I was married also, that you wouldn’t feel so bad talking to me. It was stupid. I’m alone. I’ve been alone since the day I left the second time. I’ve dated in between, but never anything serious. I knew you were who I wanted to be with forever and if I couldn’t have you, then I didn’t want anyone.”

His hands rubbed slow circles on my back. “God Charlee, why didn’t you come to me sooner? Our lives could’ve been so different had you just come to me.”

“Why didn’t you come for me? You had ten years to come find me. You knew I would’ve gone back with you in a heartbeat.”

“No Charlee, I didn’t know. After what happened when you came back, I honestly thought you would never want to speak to me again.”

“I’m not going to lie and say I wasn’t pissed for quite some time, but I knew you were just hurting me the way that I hurt you. I understood, amazingly enough. It still killed me to watch you do the things you did to me, but I deserved it.”

His hands clasped my face and brought it up to look at him. “You didn’t deserve any of it, Charlee and I’m so incredibly sorry for that. I was young, I thought getting back at you was the best thing for me. I was wrong, and I apologize.”

  “Thank you, Dax.”

“Of course.” He pressed his lips against mine and the world ceased to exist. All I could hear was the faint sounds of the waves crashing against the shore and our hearts beating in rhythm with one another. My hand went to the back of his head, pulling him as close I could against me. My eyes stayed closed as he pulled away from me a minute later. I wasn’t sure what to expect
when I opened them, and I was scared.

  “Charlee?”

  “Yes?”

  “Look at me, please.”

My eyes slowly opened, taking in the amazingly handsome man in front of me. He had a little bit more muscle now, but damn he carried it well. “What?” I whispered.

“Ask me to stay. Ask me to stay with you tonight.”

  “Stay. Stay with me, Dax.”

He just nodded his head and guided me over to the bed. He slowly disrobed me, and then himself before tucking us into bed. I wanted to stay facing him. I wanted to see his face, before it was over and he was gone. Dax had other ideas though, and I wasn’t about to argue with him. He pushed me on my side and slid up behind me. I could feel his erection pressing against my lower back, but that wasn’t what he wanted. He hugged me tightly against his body, stroking my arm with his fingers as he lulled me to sleep. For the first time in ten years, I was letting a man sleep in my bed and fortunately for me, it was the last man that I had in my bed, and it felt amazing.

  Chapter Thirty-Seven

  Dax

I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face. Charlee was still tucked tightly into my chest. I don’t think she moved a muscle all night. I didn’t plan on sleeping with her when I showed up at her door, but I also didn’t expect her to initiate the whole thing either. Being able to be with her, to hold her in my arms, to feel her inside and out made me want to be a better man for her. I wanted to be what she needed in her life. What she was lacking. When she told me that she hadn’t been with anybody, I was ecstatic. As selfish as it sounded, I didn’t want her to be with anybody else. When I thought she was married, every time I thought about her, with him, and him touching her, I cringed. She was mine, even though she wasn’t, in my mind she would always be mine.

I knew we still had a lot to talk about, but the only thing I wanted to do was make her feel as special as I thought she was. I quietly slipped out of bed, when I heard my phone alert me to a text message. Before I even looked to see who it was, I made my way out on the back deck not wanting to wake her. I slide the bar across the bottom of my phone, hoping it wasn’t my wife trying to get a hold of me. With everything that was going on with us, I just couldn’t handle talking to her just yet. Luckily, it was Trevor.

Hey man, how’s it going with

  her?

  -Trev

I quickly typed out a text back, before starting to get together my awesomely romantic breakfast surprise for my sleeping beauty inside.

So far so good! How’s everything

  back in AZ?

  -D

I glanced inside to check on Charlee. She was still fast asleep, so I quickly dialed the hotel.

“Good morning. Thank you for calling Malibu Beach Inn this is Hilary. How may I help you?”

Hilary was far too chipper for me this morning. I literally cringed the entire time she spoke, but last night was too good not to be in a good mood. “Morning, Hilary. I’m in room 220. Can you please set up your best table at the restaurant for me and my guest?”

“Absolutely, Sir. Would you prefer to dine inside or outside?”

“Outside, please. I’d also like to know if it is possible to set up a couple’s massage today?”

“Let me check the schedule real quick. Please hold.”

While I was waiting for Hilary to come back on the line, my phone beeped. I glanced at the screen, checking the new text from Trevor.

  Going good here. Um, just

wanted to give you a heads

up. The wife just got back into

town today. Not sure why she’s

so early, but she came by a little

while ago. What should I say?

  -T

I knew this weekend wasn’t going to go exactly how I had planned it in my head, but this was a major kink.

“Are you still there, Mr. Harper?”

  “Yes, I’m still here.”

“Okay, I have the table all set for you whenever you want to come down, and I can get you both in at the spa today at noon. Does that work for you?”

“Yes, Hilary. Thanks. We will be down in just a bit.”

I hung up with Hilary and paced across the back patio. My brain had completely stopped working, and not a single excuse, thought, or idea of any sort was up there. God, I was digging my hole deeper and deeper with no end in sight. I had no choice now, but to tell my wife what was going on, and tell Charlee what the deal was back home. How did I get here?

Just tell her that I had

  some things to take care

of and that I’ll be home

  tomorrow. I really fucked

  myself.

  -D

  Like you said before, life

  is complicated. Sometimes

you gotta do what you gotta

  do to make yourself happy.

Sorry, wish I was more help.

  -T

No worries. I’ll text ya before

I get on the plane tomorrow.

  Thanks, Trev.

  -D

Charlee must’ve been pretty wiped out, because she was still silently snoozing away. I sat at the end of the bed just watching her. There were so many things I wanted to tell her. So many things, I needed her to know, but now just didn’t seem like the right time. She opened up to me last night, and it completely caught me off guard. When Charlee and I were together, everything disappeared and that left her feeling vulnerable and unable to open up without me coercing it out of her.

I stood slowly off of the bed and kissed Charlee on her forehead, before heading into the bathroom to take a quick shower. I let the hot shower fill the small room with steam before I opened the door and climbed in. I let the water wash over me as I thought back on my night with Charlee. It had been absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. Her body was still amazing, and the minute she opened her hotel room door, my mind was instantly undressing her. Her skin was just as soft as I remembered. Her breasts still as perfect as ever, and her pussy, well that was just as sweet and tight as I imagined it to be.

I pressed my hand against the cold tile, leaning forward as the water ran over my back. As I recalled more about last night’s encounter, my hand fell down to my cock that was almost rock hard. I wanted to be inside of Charlee so badly, but I didn’t want to wake her from her peaceful slumber. So, I figured I would take matters into my own hands. My mind was flashing back to our romp like an old movie. Frame by frame my body reacted more and more. Before I knew it, I was slowly stroking my length, thinking of nothing but Charlee. Along with flashbacks, came new visions. Visions that felt so real, I could literally feel Charlee touching me. Her mouth wrapped around my cock, and then-.

My eyes shot open as Charlee’s small voice echoed through the shower.

“You know you could have woke me.”

The last little bit hadn’t been a fantasy. Charlee was on her knees, poised in front of me and ready to take me back into her mouth. Her lips sealed tightly around me, causing me to almost lose my balance. I clutched onto her hair, as her head moved up and down. I let out a loud moan when her other hand came up and started playing with my balls. I had forgotten just how good she was at this. She started to pick up her pace and I knew if she didn’t stop soon, I was going to come in her mouth, and I needed to be inside of her again.

I reached down and pulled her up flush against my body. Before I could reach her legs to pull her up around my waist, she was turning around and bending over. Any guy would have been more than happy to do it this way with their girl, but I needed to make love to her. I didn’t want to fuck her, screw her, or have some kind of meaningless sex. I wanted her to know that I cherished her. Every part of her, and that I wasn’t just in this for the sex.

I reached for her waist, turning her around and then picking her up, and sliding her down my cock as I pushed her up against the shower wall. My name passed between her lips and I growled. Just hearing her say my name made
me want her even more. I took my time with her in the shower, showing every bit of her, attention. When I was done with her, she would never question how much I still loved her.

My lips found hers and never left hers after that. I kissed her deeply and so passionately that I could feel my love for her pouring out of me. And just as we were about to finish together, I let those three words slip from my mouth.

  “I love you.”

I pushed into her one last time, and then we both unraveled together. I didn’t expect to hear her say it in return, but a big part of me was hoping she would. I needed to hear her admit that, that was exactly how she still felt, so I knew I made the right decision. We both washed up and dried off. Charlee still hadn’t said a single word, and I was starting to get worried that what I said had hit her the wrong way. She started getting dressed across the room, and I just couldn’t take it anymore.

“Charlee, are you mad at me?”

She looked up, confusion written all over her face. “Why would I be mad?”

  “Because of what I said.”

A smile quickly spread across her face, and my heart eased just a bit. “Dax, I love you too. You know I do.”

I closed the distance between us and wrapped my arms securely around her shoulders. “I wasn’t sure if you still did. I guess I just needed to hear it.” She looked up at me with those adoring eyes, and my heart rate spiked. Every moment with her was something new, and my body never ceased to stop reacting to her. She was my soul mate, I knew it and I knew she did too. Now all that was left, was for us to find a way to make this work. I wasn’t about to go another ten years or even ten minutes without knowing that she was mine.
