Midnight Lust: A Midnight Riders Motorcycle Club Romance Part 2 Page 7

by Olivia Thorne

“Good. Have fun the last couple of hours?”

He said it almost in the same flat, level tone he always used. Almost. Somebody else would’ve thought he resented me and was being passive-aggressive, but they didn’t know Kade the way I did.

  He was being cheeky.

“A whole lot more than you did,” I came back at him, a grin on my face.

“No doubt. Good luck with Lou.”

  “Thanks, Kade.”

  “No problem, boss.”

  I hung up.

Kade was a good man. I’m glad I had him to depend on when the shit hit the fan.

  Which it already had.

Which meant that I had to suit up and ride back out into the world…

…no matter how much I wanted to stay here with the beautiful woman in my bed.

  26

  Fiona

I was lolling in bed when Jack walked back in the room – and my eyes devoured every inch of him. Powerful legs, muscular torso, massive arms. The full sleeves of tattoos, the ones on his chest. That short, dashing beard, the beautiful blue eyes. And his cock – I loved to look at it soft almost as much as when it was hard. So big and full, swinging thick and long between his legs as he walked.

“Mmm, ready for Round Five?” I purred – and then realized something was wrong.

His face was kind; his voice was kinder. “I’m sorry, but I’ve got to get you back to your motel.”

I got up on one elbow and pulled the sheets up to my breasts, subconsciously trying to shield myself. I only realized I’d done it seconds after I spoke. “What is it? What’s wrong?”

He sat down on the bed next to me and brushed his hand softly across my face. “I talked to Kade. Benjy made it, but he’s in surgery. I need to get down there.”

“Oh my God.” I’d forgotten all about our troubles, and now I felt guilty. Outside this bubble we’d built for ourselves the last two hours, people were dying and fighting for their lives.

I felt a guilty stab when I remember another person who had died a year ago.

I hadn’t thought of her once for the last two hours.

Even with her photo up on the wall.

I was distracted, but his next words brought me crashing back down to earth.

“I’d let you stay here, but…”

He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t have to.

My chest tightened and my gut churned.

I was getting the bum’s rush.

I got up from the bed to get my clothes. “I get it.”

He grabbed my right wrist and pulled me roughly back down by his side. “No, you don’t.”

“Let go of me,” I said angrily, about to Krav Maga my way out of his grip.

He wisely let go of my arm, but he put his other hand gently on my left side.

“Look, if Kade was right – and I’m not saying he was, but hypothetically, if he was…”

If Kade was right – ?

“If it was a hit,” I murmured, suddenly realizing how much of a bratty teenager I’d been.

Jack wasn’t trying to boot me.

He was trying to protect me.

“It wasn’t,” he said hurriedly, probably trying to protect me in some naïve way from being a witness. Didn’t he realize how far in I was already?

No, of course he didn’t. He had no idea how far in I really was.

My reasons for being involved in this bloody drama were just different from his, that’s all.

I felt a little ashamed that he was trying so hard to shelter me, and here I was, essentially using him.

But I brushed past that point quickly.

“But if it was,” he continued, “I don’t want to leave you here unless you’re with me or someone I trust.”

“Because this is the first place they’d come.”

“If it were a hit. Which it wasn’t.”

I shook my head. “You can stop with the plausible deniability.”

  He grinned. “Maybe someday.”

“I could go with you to the hospital.”

His face darkened. “There’ll be cops. Kade and I still have to give our statements.”

  Oh.

“Mmmaybe I’ll just go back to the motel.”

  He grinned again. “Wise move.”

“But wait… if you have to talk to the cops… what are you going to say about Lou?”

He just stared at me calmly.

“Are you going to talk to Lou first?” I asked, alarmed.

Again, no answer. Just that calm stare.

“Shit… be careful, Jack,” I whispered.

He gave me a lopsided smile. “Said the waitress to the head of the motorcycle club.”

“Well, if you were the head of a motorcycle gang, maybe I wouldn’t worry about you so much,” I teased.

“Very funny,” he said, and leaned in and gave me a kiss.

It was a good one. Slow, sweet, sensual. After about thirty seconds, he put his arms around me and drew me in. I felt so safe, so protected, so desired.

I slid my arms up, about to embrace him back, when my hand brushed something in his lap.

  Something big and thick.

  I couldn’t help myself.

  I had to touch it.

I started stroking it lightly with just the tips of my fingers. Tracing the contours of the veins just below the surface, feeling the silky softness of his skin, sensing the heaviness, the massive inertia of it lying there on his leg.

Within seconds, it started to grow and thicken under my touch.

“Unnnh,” he groaned into my mouth. But he didn’t stop kissing me.

After another 20 seconds, his cock got semi-hard enough to start lifting into the air, and I began caressing the underside with my palm. I could feel the full weight of him now in my palm.

It was a lot of weight.

I broke off the kiss. “Sure you don’t have time for Round Five?” I purred.

He grunted like a beast in heat. “You are fucking killing me, you know that?”

I broke out of his embrace and straddled him. Took his cock – almost fully hard now – and began to lightly hold it against my pussy as I moved up and down, letting the soft, wet skin of my lips and clit tickle that ridge of skin right under the head of his cock.

Jesus, I could feel the electricity, the chemistry, the magic, whatever you want to call it. Just in the touch of his skin against mine.

  I couldn’t believe I was doing this.

Couldn’t believe I was acting this way.

Later I thought about it, and realized it wasn’t just me being overwhelmed by attraction. I think it was that I didn’t want to face the ugliness out there in the outside world. Didn’t want to have to face the pain, the danger. I’d even forgotten about my cousin and my quest for two hours – for which I felt guilty. Having sex with him again was a way of forgetting all of that. The guilt, the pain, the fear, the anger. Just for a little while.

But that thought didn’t come until later.

At the moment, I only knew one thing:

  I wanted it.

  I wanted him.

  Inside me.

  Fucking me.

“Five minutes,” I cooed. “Just a quickie.”

  “I don’t really ‘do’ quickies.”

“So I’ve noticed. But you could try.”

“I… have to get… to the hospital… unhhhh…” he groaned as he stared deep into my imploring eyes.

I bit my lip as coquettishly as I could. “I’ll let you come inside me.”

“Oh God,” he grunted. He closed his eyes, tipped his head back – and then, through some superhuman feat of willpower, he put his hands on my arms and forced both of us to our feet.

“Later,” he said good-naturedly. He turned me in the direction of the bathroom. “Now go get dressed.”

“Hmph,” I pouted playfully, then looked over my shoulder into his eyes. “You don’t get to come inside me, then.”

  “We’ll see,” he grinne
d, and slapped my ass.

  Again.

I was a little pissed – it was kind of demeaning, how casually he did it –

  But I liked it, too.

  I couldn’t deny that completely.

We might have to do more of that during sex.

I sashayed towards the bathroom, still looking over my shoulder. I switched my gaze pointedly between his eyes and that beautiful cock – now at full attention and deliciously hard – and back again. I lifted one eyebrow, like, You sure? Last chance.

“Go on,” he said. “Before I change my mind.”

I smiled as I walked into the bathroom to dress.

  27

Twenty minutes later, we roared up in front of my motel room on his Harley. It was still dark, shortly after 4AM. The world was quiet except for the throb of his engine.

I got off the bike and stowed the spare helmet while he tapped out a text on his phone.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

  “Getting Lou to meet.”

My heart constricted with fear. “Be careful, okay?”

“I will.” He leaned over, gave me a long, slow kiss. Then he pulled away.

  “Can’t you just… I don’t know… stay here with me?” I asked mournfully.

He shook his head and brushed his fingers across my cheek. “Don’t worry so much. Shoot me a text when you wake up, okay?”

  “Okay.”

“Alright. By the way… I’m looking forward to Round Five.”

“We could go in and start right now,” I said, jerking my head back towards my room. “I could be the ring girl and the opponent.”

  “Mmmm… I like that.”

“Ding, ding,” I said, imitating the sound of the bell.

“I thought you wanted to drop the boxing metaphor,” he smirked.

“You convinced me there might be… benefits to keeping it going,” I said seductively.

He grinned. “I got to get out of here while I still have my wits about me.”

  “Call me.”

“Just shoot me a text as soon as you get up, and I’ll call as soon as I can.”

  “Okay.”

He smiled one last time, gunned the motor, and was gone.

I watched him disappear down the road under the streetlamps.

My heart felt heavy and bruised as I turned away.

  28

I opened the door to my room and stepped inside. My mind was swirling. Thoughts about Jack… about the Midnight Riders… about Ali… about what the last two hours meant for my investigation…

About all that hot, glorious sex.

My lower parts throbbed with the memory. I savored the ache he’d left behind, because it reminded me of every thrust. Every second he’d been inside me. Every ripple and burst of orgasmic bliss.

  Jesus, I was so far gone… I couldn’t stop thinking about him…

Maybe if I took a hot shower. There really wasn’t much point in my trying to go to sleep. I was too wired for that. Maybe if I relaxed a little –

I reached for the main light switch.

As I did, the door slammed shut on its own.

No – not on its own.

  Someone else had closed it.

In the complete darkness, a gloved hand clamped across my mouth and something cold, hard, and cylindrical shoved into my back.

  A gun.

“Scream and it’ll be the last thing you do,” a male voice said. “Do you understand?”

  I nodded, terrified.

I knew a good bit of Krav Maga.

Not enough to get away from a gun pointed at my kidneys.

If there hadn’t been the gun, I might have stood a chance.

But there was. What ifs were useless at this point.

I was completely at his mercy, whoever he was.

  Whoever he was…

The voice sounded vaguely familiar. My mind clicked into analytical mode, trying to identify it.

  Lou?

  No. Not deep enough.

  Peanut, the strip club bouncer?

  No.

  Kade?

  Absolutely not.

But I had heard that same voice before – and not too long ago.

  Who was it?

It was driving me crazy –

“In a few seconds I’m going to let go of your mouth. You’re not going to scream. Instead you’re going to sit down, and we’re going to have a talk. Just a talk… unless you do something stupid. Do you understand, Fiona?”

  Fiona.

He knew me. So odds were I knew him.

Then he spoke again, and I realized it didn’t matter – because whether he was a strip club customer or a Midnight Rider, I was royally fucked.

“Or should I call you,” he continued, “Private Investigator Christenson?”

  Oh SHIT.
