He’d never slept with a pregnant girl before, but he had heard that human milk was very sweet. He grew curious as more milk wet his hands.

Squeezing the nipple of Sybil’s left breast between his fingers, Ben leaned up and licked the areola with his tongue. He felt how her skin reacted to his touch, and he tasted the milk on his tongue.

It was less than a mouthful at first, but the taste sent tingles right through his mouth. It was warm and sweet, and filled his mouth with pleasure, more than he had ever experienced there before, even when making out.

He stretched out his tongue for more, then hesitated. He glanced up at Sybil, whose dilated eyes were watching him. Her mouth was parted, and she was breathing heavily.

“Go on,” she panted. “Taste some more.”

“You’re sure?” Ben asked, between his own heavy breaths.

“Yes,” Sybil rasped. “It’s so hot.”

Ben licked up some more of the milk from the left breast, then put his mouth to the right one. This time he planted his whole mouth on her nipple and sucked, slurping the sweet fluid into his throat.

“If you enjoy this,” Sybil said, “you will love what I have for you next.”

She got off him, letting his still hard cock pop out of her slit. She lay down on the bed and grabbed Ben, pushing his head down toward her pussy.

Ben needed no further instructions. He knelt down in front of her, massaging her firm thighs with his hands. He put his head down and started kissing the skin around Sybil’s lower navel.

The folds of her labia were already swollen from the arousal of intercourse. Ben could feel Sybil’s abdomen twitching under his touch. She moaned with pleasure as he swirled his tongue, tenderly touching her clitoris.

Ben rubbed around Sybil’s opening with a couple of fingers, which were quickly lubricated by her flowing juices. He inserted them and thrusted back and forth. Her pussy contracted around his fingers, gripping them hard.

She moaned louder than before and came again. This time she ejaculated, spraying Ben’s face with a sweet liquid. It tasted fruity and refreshing. It had a thinner consistency than milk, but tasted fresher.

Sybil arched her back with pleasure, then sank back to the bed. She laughed softly as her torso was still contracted by pleasure.

She looked into his eyes. “You have now tasted from the heavenly font and from the netherly font.”

“The what now?” Ben asked, still savoring the flavor of the aurochwoman.

“My people say that the elixir of life came from the first female aurochkin. It has been passed onto each female descendant. And every male descendant must drink from both fonts.”

Ben could feel new energy swirling inside him as he swallowed. It certainly felt like the elixir of life was in him.

“You are a true bull now,” Sybil said, looking at him proudly.

“Thank you, Sybil,” Ben said. “I am honored.”

“It is I who am honored, Ben,” she said, pushing herself upright. “Come now. You have consumed of me, now I must consume your elixir. But I still want a child. I won’t be using my mouth.”

The aurochwoman pushed Ben to the bed and mounted him. Her pussy began massaging his cock again, more forcefully than before. Her breath came in rapid gasps.

The electrifying heat of her mound rocking against Ben’s navel, and the slick coating of her juices, filled Ben’s loins with warmth and energy. Blood pulsated in his cock. The pleasure took his breath away, until he couldn’t hold out any longer.

Ben let out a long loud groan, heedless of any restraint. His cock began to throb, filling up with his seed. With a stab of ecstatic tension, Ben’s loins let go, forcing out his seed in hot ropes, splashing up into the aurochwoman’s channel.

Sybil’s eyes rolled back, and she threw back her head. Her mouth opened wide, and she let out a deafening bellow, which seemed to shake the walls of the room.

Ben lost track of time and space in his ecstasy, as a post-pleasure haze gripped his mind. It felt like forever before he became aware of Sybil urging him awake.

He slowly opened his eyes and propped himself up on an elbow. Sybil smiled serenely, with an almost giddy look of after-sex relief on her face. She pointed to the end of the bed.

An egg—as tall as a man and coated in a hide of red leather—rested on the floor, leaning against the bed.

“I hope our children become warriors like Pearl and Nipper,” Sybil murmured.

“They will be aurochkin, will they not?” Ben said. He wasn’t sure of the answer himself, since he hadn’t mated with a monsterkin like Sybil before.

“No, Benzhameen,” Sybil said. “Our children will be something more than aurochkin. They will be the essence of aurochkin and the Forgotten Ruler in one.”

  Chapter 16

Ben woke to the sight of Sybil’s voluptuous naked form rising and falling on the bed beside him. They had passed out in a blissful haze last night without even eating. His stomach rumbled, reproaching him for that.

He considered the discussion with the council, how they had made a list of their priorities—creating children being among them. As he let his gaze linger on Sybil’s gorgeous nude body, he realized how easy it would be to devote himself fully to the creation of his army. He would need to resist the never-ending temptation of taking his wives to bed when he needed to focus on other matters.

Sybil opened her eyes and looked into his. “Good morning, my love.”

“From ‘my lord’ to ‘my love’?” Ben quipped. “Seems like an appropriate change.”

“But there need be no difference between the two, surely?” Sybil said.

“Perhaps not,” Ben said. Maybe this was a way to understand his role as ruler, at least as far as the monsterkin were concerned. Where the Xurian Realm was concerned, he would show them another side entirely.

“The others slept elsewhere last night?” Sybil asked.

“There are many bedrooms on this floor,” Ben said. “I’m sure they found other beds for themselves. Shall we go out and greet them? I could do with a meal.”

Sybil’s stomach growled loudly. She laughed. “It seems I could too.”

They both dressed. After they were fully clothed, the two of them admired the collection of eggs. Sybil paid special attention to hers, placing her hands on the red leather hide, then her ear. A smile formed on her lips as she listened.

“It’s so hard to believe that the result of my union with the Forgotten Leader is inside this egg right now.”

“And you won’t need to wait long to meet him—or her.”

She lifted her ear from the egg and turned to Ben.

“Thank you for giving me this gift. It means more to me than you could know.”

“It’s my pleasure. Now, let’s get some food in us. I’m sure we’re both a bit depleted after our activities last night.”

“You have no idea,” she said with a sly smile.

They left the room, taking the elevator down to the kitchen.

Melody met them there. “You are well rested, I hope?” She smiled mischievously.

“Very much, thank you,” Sybil replied. Her skin blushed slightly, and Ben could tell she was a little shy at the idea of the other women knowing exactly what she’d gotten up to, however obvious it might’ve been.

“Your folk have already prepared breakfast,” Melody said. “It’s about to be served in the dining hall.”

  “Excellent,” Ben said. “I’m famished.”

Lulu, Vinata, and Lexi were already seated. Ben took the seat between Melody and Sybil.

“Sir Gallant the Younger isn’t joining us?” he asked.

Vinata shook her head. “He was terribly excited to start preparing for his new duties. He is in the dungeons examining the equipment.”

“He promised not to touch Uzax without your permission,” Melody said.

“Good,” Ben said. “I’m pleased to see that he’s happy with his new role. But there’s also a risk of him being too
 overzealous in his duties.

“It wasn’t easy,” Lulu added. “He pleaded for permission. It was quite a funny sight to see that little stature on his hands and knees, begging us to let him try out the iron maiden for just a few minutes.”

Ben laughed. “It’s good to hear he is committed and eager.”

“He’s not the only one,” Vinata said. “We all spent some time in the Library yesterday learning some new spells.”

Melody coughed. “Yes, while you two were, ah, busy.”

Ben almost thought she was having a go at Sybil, but she grinned and gave the aurochwoman a wink.

“You two certainly were busy,” Lulu said. “We could hear from the Library.”

  “Really?” Sybil colored.

“No, of course not,” Lulu said. “It’s too far below. We did take the liberty of sneaking a look after you’d both gone to sleep though. I must congratulate you on a very fine egg, Sybil.”

“Thank you,” Sybil said. “I’m excited to see what hatches from it.”

“As are we all,” Lulu agreed.

Several aurochkin wheeled trays of food into the dining hall. They lifted the lids off the dishes and began serving them. Ben couldn’t quite see what they’d prepared, but the delicious scents were enough to make his mouth water. The lack of dinner the night before was catching up with him, and he was ready to dig in.

They’d catered to everyone. Melody and Lulu both received helpings of freshly cooked fish, well-seasoned. Vinata and Sybil had helpings of a kind of vegan omelet, stuffed with herbs. They served a side of tenderly cooked rabbit flesh to Lexi.

Ben received servings of everything, with a side of eggs, sunny side up and freshly baked bread, chewy and crusty. To Ben there were few breakfasts more delicious than sunny-side eggs with runny yolks and fresh toast to dip into them. Everyone received a glass of milk. Ben took a sip, his eyes lighting up at how rich and creamy it was, with just a touch of sweetness. It tasted to him almost like ice-cream, but without the heaps of sugar. And as it sat in his belly, he could sense that it was more wholesome, more nourishing, than the milk back on Earth that Ben was used to.

The smells filled the hall and made Ben’s mouth water even more.

The yolks of the orange were a deep orange, the milk pearl-white. Ben was ready to dig in as soon as his plate was placed in front him. But before he could even reach for his food, Lexi cleared her throat and spoke up.

“Do you mind if I pray, to thank the God of Light for this food?” Lexi asked.

“Only if you also thank the aurochkin who actually provided it,” Ben said.

Lexi prayed, and they all thanked the aurochkin, who accepted their gratitude with silent nods of the heads, then withdrew back to the kitchens.

Once they were gone, the group dug in. Ben started with some bread, ripping a chunk off the nearest loaf, steam rising from inside. He dolloped a healthy smear of creamy butter onto his piece of bread and took a bite. The warmth of the bread combined with the crunch of the crust was heavenly. And the butter was as savory and nourishing as the milk.

“Tell me about the spells you’ve been learning,” Ben said, swallowing another mouthful of bread.

Lexi opened her mouth to speak, but then hesitated.

“Go on, Lexi,” Melody said. “You can go first.”

Lexi smiled gratefully. Ben realized that it would still take some time for her to develop confidence around her new family.

“I have chosen to begin learning Purify, my lord,” she said.

“Please, Lexi,” Ben said, “you are one of us now. You can call me Ben.”

She hesitated again, but nodded after a moment. “Thank you… Ben,” she said.

“And what does Purify do?” Ben asked.

“It’s a spell for removing all kinds of impurities, curses and demonic taints,” Lexi said. “An easy spell for a cleric like myself to learn.”

“That does sound like a useful spell,” Ben said. “I wonder what it could help with purifying. Does the evil presence we sensed in the dungeons count as an impurity?”

“I’m not sure,” Lexi said. “But it may very well be. We’ll have to try it once I have learned the spell. But I can say that it would be one thing to purify a body of toxins, but something else entirely to purify a dungeon of malevolent spirits. But I’ll do more research and learn as much as I can.”

“That sounds good,” Ben said. “And you, Vinata?”

“I discovered a book on natural cultivation,” Vinata said.

“An appropriate book for our Mistress of Cultivation,” Ben remarked.

“Indeed,” Vinata said. “I have begun learning Greater Bloom. As a dryad I am already able to speed up the growth of plants, but this will be much faster.”

“You already make plants grow so quickly that we can watch them turn from saplings into small trees,” Ben said.

“You’ll just have to see what I’m capable of once I’ve learned the spell,” the forest nymph said.

Ben pictured her making whole groves of trees spring up around her. She could become as powerful as an ancient druidess, or at least what the stories said about druidesses.

“The spell could help us when it comes to farming as well,” Vinata observed. “We’ll never want for food again.”

“You’d be able to grow food inside the tower as well, I take it,” Ben said. “Just like you grew the garden on the tower’s crown.”

  “That’s right,” Vinata said.

“We’d never be at risk from a siege again.” Ben was delighted that they’d gotten everyone to try learning new spells. He’d soon be able to cast them himself and grow his power.

“I am learning Hydro Form,” Lulu announced. “I’ll be able to turn myself into liquid.”

  “Your whole body?” Ben asked.

Lulu nodded. “But not only that. I can turn parts of myself into liquid at will, once I gain enough skill.”

“Allowing you to dodge attacks?” Ben asked.

“That’s right. I’ll be able to flow under doors or through thin cracks, to disappear, to dodge physical attacks.”

“Surely you will need a huge amount of skill to control your body like that,” Ben said. “To transform parts of yourself so quickly and then back again.”

“Water nymphs spend many years perfecting their arts,” Lulu said. “But even a little skill will make me far more dangerous in battle.”

“It could help me on stealth missions if I were to borrow the spell as well,” Ben said.

Lulu smiled craftily. “That’s what I had in mind when I picked it.”

“Well chosen,” Ben said. “And you, Melody?”

“I am learning Chain Lightning,” she said.

“Let me guess,” Ben said. “You can hit more than one enemy with this spell?”

“Yes,” Melody said. “It’s like the lightning spell I already use, but it will hit subsequent enemies too. The more I practice, the more enemies I can hit.”

“I hardly need to speculate about how that would be useful in battle,” Ben remarked.

“I am also learning Meteorological Divination,” Melody said.

  “Meteor—what?” Ben asked.

Melody chuckled. “It is a spell that will allow me to predict the weather.”

“I see,” Ben said. “Good choice. That could give us a huge strategic advantage.” Indeed, knowing what weather to expect would be a boon when commanding his armies. Battles often came down to strategic information, and weather would be invaluable. He thought of the Battle of Agincourt, and how the French had allowed their horses to become stuck in earth that had been turned into mud by rain. If only they had known what weather to expect.

“It’s not just that,” Melody added. “Once I develop it enough, I may be able to manipulate the weather.”

Ben raised an eyebrow. “You could… control weather?”

She nodded. “It’s a very high level of the spell, to be sure. But I’m confident that, if I practice and
stick to my studies, I’ll be able to do it in time.

“That would be a powerful spell indeed,” Sybil commented.

“It would,” Melody said. “I am still far from that stage, but once I learn it, we will be a force to be feared on the battlefield.”

“You have all chosen well,” Ben said.

“I want to choose a spell to learn as well,” Sybil said. “Is that something I can do? I would hate to sit idly by while you all work so hard.”

Ben glanced at Melody. “I gave Sybil a mana pool, she ought to be able to learn spells, right?”

“I think so,” Melody said. “I will take you to the Library later and we can try some experiments.”

  “Thank you,” Sybil said.

“Excellent.” Ben dabbed the last of the yolk up with the final bit of crust and popped it into his mouth. Once that was done, he wiped his hands, threw back the rest of his milk, and rose. The breakfast had been filling and nourishing, and he felt ready to conquer the day ahead. “I need to practice this Transform spell more now. The sooner I perfect it, the sooner I can begin this scouting mission.”

Several aurochkin came in to clear up. Everyone got to their feet and prepared to begin the day’s work.

Ben decided to begin his tasks up in the bedroom. Once there, he quickly showered before performing another inspection of the eggs. After he was satisfied, he found his long sword and began practicing. He started slowly, swiping through the air and warming up his muscles.

Before long, Ben moved on to more advanced techniques, imitating moves he’d seen in films. But he couldn’t get them right. His movements were sloppy, and he found himself tiring easily. When he’d finally hit his limit, he sheathed the blade and leaned it against a nearby wall before dropping back-first onto his bed and catching his breath.

He needed a blade master—one who could teach him how to fight properly. Magic was powerful, he knew, and would give him an incredible advantage in the fights ahead. But there was nothing quite like being able to handle a blade on his own.

After some time resting, a knock sounded at the door. He heaved himself up into a sitting position to see Lexi on the other side of the glass door. She knocked again softly, as if wanting to make sure she didn’t disturb Ben.
