Her Stepbrother Is a Monster

Maven snorted. “They both better do a lot of courting, if Azure is going to get in my panties. Sorry, been there and right now I’m a little leery of any man. Even if he is hot. You hear me, right? Don’t need Azure’s head to swell.” Maven asked Chandrass. “Oh, if you were sleeping inside me how long have you been there? Where do your people come from?”

Chandrass laughed. “I hear you fine. How do you feel? Better?”

“Umm, much thank you,” Maven said, moving a little, but feeling no pain for the first time in a while.

“I slid into you as an infant still in your mother’s womb. Something about your soul called to me. We can live without hosts, but I found it safer for all of us to find hosts. We are from a planet that exploded so long ago. I’ve searched for others of my family, but so far have found no one. I must warn you now, you and Azure will have many others to come and try to mate with us, but I will not tolerate others. It’s bad enough he had all those women throwing their tail at him so long ago,” she growled and at once a puff of warm air covered her, like that of a blanket. Somehow Azure knew Chandrass was aggravated.

“Yes, our man is good, but Maven you do know that males of your kind and mine are very dominating.”

  Maven stiffened. “I tried that…”

“No, little one. What you got stuck with was a twerp as you would say, a bully and you can bet your sweet ass our man is already planning his roasting. No, Maven a good man will be strict, but will guide us, help us grow. My mom used to tell me when I found the right one, no matter if the man was stern with us, he’d always protect us with his life.” Chandrass said, but Maven chose to not even go there, changing the subject.

“Will it hurt when we shift? I used to watch my Mom and Dad the way they were with each other.” Maven smiled, rubbing her cheek on the dragon’s smooth skin. “He’d get so mad at Mom. See Mom has a really bad temper, one I’m afraid I inherited. Anyway, she had a habit of acting out before thinking. Let’s just say I saw Dad chasing Mom a few times threating to spank her ass, but she’d laugh at him. I miss him so much and I thought for sure I was going to lose Mom too, but then she met Danger. In a day you could see the difference, even though she grieved, Mom was healing herself inside. What the hell?” Maven growled seeing something she didn’t like at all.

Three other dragons seemed to be blocking their path, challenging Azure. The hot monster was not happy to say the least as his flames and roar filled the night sky. She jumped and glared at her man for scaring the piss out of her as the others inched back, one actually leaving, but the other two held their ground.

Lowering to the ground, Azure placed her down and shifted. “I’m sorry Little Fire, but I have no choice but to face them. At least my stupid cousin had the good grace to leave,” Azure said, leaning down and kissing her on the lips. “You’ll be safe here,” he said, turning to leave, but she reached out and grabbed his arm, stopping him and looked up at the sky.

“Just so you know, I will have no one else, but Azure and neither will Chandrass. She has made her choice,” Maven spoke loud, making sure everyone heard. Smiling, she looked at Azure who seemed to be shocked. “But know this, if one of those idiots hurt you, she’s promised to have dragon tartare and she’s assured me it’s quite good.”

Azure threw his head back and laughed. “You, Little Fire, are something else, but there will be no shifting yet. Chandrass has been asleep for awhile and we will not risk her or your health.” He lowered his head so that he was staring directly into her gaze.

“No, Chandrass, we mean it. By the way, I’m called Taghor.” There was no mistake who had spoken this time as the eyes of the dragon flickered right before he spun, shifting and going to meet the challenge head on.

“Chandrass, something isn’t right. If that was Eros, we have bigger problems,” Maven growled, slowly scanning her surroundings. “Can you guys change your human appearance as well?” Maven asked, as her internal warning system kicked in telling her that her ex, Odell, was close at hand.

Chandrass stretched. “Yes, but it is not necessary. If he appears as you believe he will, we will be ready for him. But, I would like to know why he would go this far? To change one’s identity physically takes a lot out of a person. I know I was careful, no one knew I was here. At least I hope so,” Chandrass growled.

Maven spun, her heart in her throat, facing her twerp ex, but then it was Eros. “Now, I know why I couldn’t stand your touch,” Maven hissed, stepping back. “Why all the deceit?”

“Oh, but you will endure more of my touch, because you will be mine,” Eros said, reaching for her. “I waited long enough for you. I’m not about to allow my cousin to take what is mine.”

Bones crunched, muscles tore, and she swore her blood boiled inside her, as Maven watched Chandrass take over, pushing her back into the body of the dragon. To say this woman was furious would be an understatement. Maven thought she had a temper, but it was nothing compared to this lady dragon as she tried to bite Eros’ head off, but he had already shifted, moving out of the way, before coming at them.

“God, why didn’t I see through him!” Maven growled as Chandrass sent a stream of fire down on him. She took off flying, trying to get away from his claws, but not before he nipped at her tail.

“He dares to touch us, again?” Chandrass turned to attack, but out of the corner of her eye, Chandrass saw Taghor coming down fast, right at Eros’ head.

“Move and we will be speaking later,” Taghor growled.

Maven scanned around them expecting the other dragons to attack them but noticed that behind him the other two dragons were gone.

“Why do I get the feeling they have heard everything we have said,” Maven grumbled, as Chandrass watched Eros and Taghor fight below, if one could call it that.

“The bonding has started, he’ll be able to feel our emotions and thoughts. Right now, I wish he would have allowed me to do this.” Chandrass said as Taghor tore Eros’ head off, incinerating it at once, not wasting time.

“I totally agree, the thought of him having to kill family, for me…” Maven said, as Taghor turned to look up at them. “Um, Chandrass I have a feeling now would be a time for us to move our asses if that is a look of something.” Maven shivered at the possessive look Taghor gave them.

“That I have to agree with you on,” Chandrass said, taking off. “I have a feeling I’m going to be the prize he fought for,” she giggled, as they both heard the angry growl behind them. “Oh yea, he’s a little pissed off too.”

The night was beautiful, as Chandrass played her game of cat and mouse with Taghor. It would seem Azure and his dragon had been wrong. Sleeping all that time, Chandrass was not tired and was making up for all that sleep, laughing and teasing her mate, trying to lighten their burden.

  Chapter Four

Furious, hurt that his family had caused his woman years of pain, Taghor and Azure took off after their wild woman. Oh, she was royalty all right, one of the original lines to a throne, long thought dead. Both he and Taghor would have a constant battle to keep others away from what was theirs, but as soon as soon as he claimed her, marking her, things should die down, he hoped. Because he wasn’t about to share her with anyone.

Red, yellow, green, her colors bright to match the mischief they had seen in her eyes earlier. Yes, Maven and Chandrass seemed to both have tempers that would keep them busy. Their female’s tail flickered to the left, then to the right. Her scent strong, drifting back to them. The female dragon, the princess, was ready for Taghor.

“Mine,” he growled again going to cover her with his body, when she dipped away from him before he could secure her. “Chandrass,” Taghor growled, but smiled. “Our woman is good, strong, the both of them. Our children will lead our people.”

“If you can catch her to claim her first,” Azure said, teasing his partner.

“Watch and learn, young one,” Taghor said, catching Chandrass in his grasp in a move that Azure had
n’t been expecting. Coming in from under her, Taghor latched onto her, flipping her and covering her body in seconds, stunning not only him but their woman. Lucky Taghor had been holding onto her or she would have fallen.

But Princess Chandrass wasn’t going to allow Taghor that quick of access to her, oh no. She bucked and dropped down, but Taghor held onto her, pulling her back up into the sky, sliding his cock into her, biting the side of her neck, and holding her close to him. Claiming her in mid-air. “MINE,” Taghor growled, as Chandrass and he made wild love twirling through the night sky, holding nothing back, while Maven said nothing.

Azure could feel his woman. Maven was excited and nervous inside Chandrass. All he wanted to do was wrap himself around her and keep her safe. The thought that it was his family who had hurt her, had him growling.

“You did not know. No one could have guessed what happened,” Taghor said, as he released Chandrass, licking the spot where he had bitten her.

“She does not blame you, or your family. If anything, she feels guilty you had to kill him and wouldn’t allow us to do it. My hostess is a compassionate one, maybe a little too much,” Chandrass informed him.

“That’s nonsense. I’m beginning to think her mother might have been right. Raising Maven as a human has put her at a disadvantage,” Azure said.

Flames hit their head as Chandrass growled and tried to bite Taghor. “You hurt my hostess and I will fry you. I don’t care if you have claimed me, you over grown stuffed lizard,” Chandrass yelled, turning, escaping Taghor’s grasp and flying away from them.

“You’re going the wrong way and Azure did not mean for that to hurt your hostess,” Taghor said, guiding Chandrass towards the cabin.

“Well, he better not mention anything about her father. That would make her really upset. She has been hurt enough,” Princess Chandrass said.

“The last thing I want to do is hurt Maven. She is my mate. I want to protect her as Taghor wants to do the same for you,” Azure informed Chandrass.

For a while Chandrass said nothing. “She believes your cousin killed her father. She hasn’t told her mother or anyone about this.”

“But how?” Azure connected with his father, allowing him to see what was going on.

“This has me worried. If this is the case, your cousin did not do this alone. No offense to my brother, but his son was not smart enough to organize anything like this. Plus, he was too lazy…” The connection cut instantly, which worried Azure.

“We have another problem,” Taghor growled and dipped down, roaring a challenge to the two dragons who waited for them at the cabin.

“Relax lizard breath, they are friends,” Chandrass said, landing before Taghor could stop her.

“I suggest you have a long chat with your woman about putting herself in danger like that,” Azure growled.

“Forget chat, I’m going to beat her,” Taghor pushed Chandrass back and turned to the two males in question as they shifted.

“First, who are you? Second, how did you know we’d be here?” Azure asked, as Taghor hovered close to the surface ready to shift back if needed.

Both dragons shifted, two purple leather-skinned warrior-like creatures well over seven feet tall bowed their heads to Taghor. “It is an honor to meet Princess Chandrass’ mate.

Behind him Chandrass snorted, shifting, leaving Maven standing behind him, watching as she reached out to grab the back of his shirt.

“Aliens! You know damn well I’m not ready for this shit,” Maven hissed, and he had to smile, knowing she was speaking with Chandrass.

Even the alien warriors seemed to be smiling, which did not sit well with him. Only he should think she was cute, beautiful. Before he could step forward, he felt a stirring in his head.

“You think I’m beautiful?” Maven asked, causing him to moan and glance over his shoulder at her, meeting her gaze.

“Stunning, but do not distract me,” he grumbled, before turning his gaze on the two in question.

“Chandrass says these two were her bodyguards, Paco and Sage, before the war broke out,” Maven said.

“And how did they know you’d be here?” he asked again, getting a little pissed she kept defending the men.

  Chapter Five

Maven’s world had gone from one of fear, to one of aliens, monsters, hot men and, of course, more fear. She knew it would take awhile for her to get over that, after having an ex who had…she shivered, remembering.

“Stop,” Azure said, scooping her up in his arms and moving towards the cabin. “There is no reason for you to remember those days. They are gone and no one will hurt you again,” Azure growled, opening the door to the cabin and heading to a big cushioned couch and laying her down on it.

“I’m waiting, and I don’t like to repeat myself,” Azure growled, covering her with the blanket that had been on the back of the couch.

Maven watched as Azure straightened to what had to be a six and half foot frame, his gaze now on the two men that stood in the door way.

“At birth each of the king’s and queen’s children had trackers installed in them, which were also placed in their guards. We are her two guards for life.” The one with longer hair said.

  “They what?” Chandrass growled.

“Don’t!” Azure turned, his eyes now that of Taghor’s.

“I’m not that stupid. I swear you’d think I was hatched yesterday,” Chandrass growled inside her.

“I’m sure he knows this,” Maven said, watching as Azure moved to the fireplace. In one breath, a fire jumped to life as he turned to the two alien men.

“Do you have family? Are you two planning on staying with us? What about her family? Have you heard anything from them?” Azure asked, leaning against the wall as the two men came into the cabin and shut the door.

Maven ignored the questions as she checked out her surroundings and the two warrior alien men. Outside they had seemed big, but inside they were huge. This new world Maven was in was like that of a science fiction story. But one look at Azure and Maven had to admit she’d love to be in part of it if it involved him and her rolling around in bed. The man had an ass you just wanted to squeeze.

“I’m going to sleep, but you should know he’s reading your thoughts. Have fun and tell my so-called guards I’ll be speaking with them tomorrow,” Chandrass said.

“What do you mean have fun?” Maven asked as her gaze jumped to Azure’s. Oh, the man had read her thoughts if the hot look on his face was any indication.

“Well, crap.” Maven glanced up and knew he had read every dirty thought she had been thinking. His gaze as hot as the fire his dragon could produce.

“Gentlemen, there are two rooms at the end of that hall to your left that you can use. We’ll be talking later.” He said slowly turning his head to the two men in question. “But be warned, my father and her mother are on the way here as are other members of my family, so don’t fry them when they arrive later tonight. We’ll figure this all out tomorrow. But right now, I have a mate to take care of.” His gaze once more on her as he stalked towards her. He held out his hand to her.

“This will be the only time I ask this, Little Fire. You know you are mine and I’m yours. Are you ready to accept this, me?” His voice seemed to drop down a few levels, her nipples hardened and at once his gaze went to her breasts, before meeting her gaze, waiting.

Maven looked over at the two men in question to see that they were gone. She looked back to Azure. She shook her head. “This is all so damn weird, but inside here,” Maven placed her hand over her heart, “for some strange reason, my body and my heart know I belong in your arms.” She placed her hand into his. “Don’t hurt me, Azure,” she said. “Or I’ll allow Chandrass to have her dragon tartare.”

  “Mmmm, yum,” Chandrass mumbled.

Azure laughed, sweeping her up into his arms. “I have a strange feeling my partner and I have our hands full when it comes to you two. But we are ready
for the challenge, because there is no one we would rather have than you two at our side, carrying our children. Now, let’s go work on that last part, shall we?” he said, moving to the other end of the cabin, away from the two men.

She laid her head down on his chest. “Don’t you think we should wait on the children? Maybe a few months at least, so we can work on us first? We don’t even know where we’ll be living or who else is going to pop up.” Maven said.

Pushing open a door, Azure stepped into the room, He shut the door behind him with his foot. “Oh, we’ll have plenty of time for us, Little Fire.” He lowered her feet to the ground next to the bed, reaching down and pulling her blouse off in one move.

“Beautiful,” His gaze jumped from her breasts to her face. “You are healed now?” he asked, placing his hand on her side, running his finger over her ribs.

She nodded, his hand on her bare skin made Maven unable to speak. Her body heated to the point Maven swore she’d overheat.

He knelt in front of her, slowly lowering her skirt and panties to the ground. “Step out, Little Fire,” he ordered.

As if on automatic pilot, Maven reached out, placing her hands on his broad shoulders, doing as he asked. The brush of his fingers on the inside of her legs had her moaning and locking her legs, afraid she’d fall on her face.

“Your scent…” he took a deep breath, rubbing his cheek against her thigh. When he looked up at her, Maven tried to step back, but he held onto her as he stood, reaching up and undoing her bra, taking it off her.

“Mine,” he growled before scooping her up and placing her in the middle of the bed. “Don’t move,” he ordered, pulling his shirt up over his head and then lowering his pants to the ground and stepping out of them. The man wore no under clothes, total commando.
