“Honey, its prejudice, pure and simple. Auggie just couldn’t stand that I was Alpha and his boss even though my heritage wasn’t pure werewolf,” Riker explained.
“I guess it’s not that different than with the rest of America. There must be as many different kind of prejudices as there are kinds of beings on this planet.”
“Maybe we should take this opportunity to confirm the unity of our two species, hmm?” he purred.
“You know I’m not a well woman,” she slanted a look at him. “I think I need some TLC,” she snuggled into him.
“Baby, I’ll give you all the TLC you can handle, and then some,” he growled.
Her mouth met his with as much passion and need as she could express. She wanted him badly. She was starving for him.
“I need you, Riker. I need you so much,” she groaned into his blazing mouth.
“Oh, God, Bet, I need you, too,” he growled.
“Just make me forget. Show me that you’re what’s real now,” she begged.
She pushed at his shirt and tugged at the overlarge sleep shirt she wore. She needed to feel him against her. Her body was aching for his. Riker tore his own shirt off even as she pulled hers over her head.
“I’m right here, Baby,” he rumbled taking her aching nipple into his mouth.
While his hot mouth suckled at her breasts, she tugged at the buttons of his jeans freeing his thick column from the tight prison. He rose above her and she pushed the pants down over his hips.
Bethany was too hungry to let him do more than feel the hot, wet cream at her core signaling her readiness for him.
“NOW, Riker! I need you now,” She groaned.
She felt his pulsing erection poised at her entrance. He paused and she looked up at him.
“I love you, Bethany,” he growled, and then he plunged, filling her completely.
He thrust in and out of her like a jackhammer, hard and deep and unyielding. Moaning and panting, she arched her hips trying to take him even deeper. She couldn’t get enough of him.
Bethany clung to him meeting his thrusts, feeling her mind and body soar higher. Her tight nipples brushed against his furred chest, the friction only adding to her aching need as his hips pumped with a fierce, driving force.
Soon, she could feel the waves of her orgasm breaking over her. Her muscles began to convulse and she screamed his name, wrapping herself around him.
He continued to thrust, his rigid staff still plunging into her as she clenched around him. With a roar, he pumped one more time, shooting his hot juice into her.
When they could move again, Riker pulled himself out and off of her and wrapped her in his arms.
“I love you, too, Riker Montgomery,” she mumbled.
She could feel him stroking her hair as she began to doze.
“That was the loving, now let’s work on the tender care,” he rumbled into her ear just before she drifted off.
Chapter 13
March 24
Backstage at the Academy Awards
After Ceremonies
“We’re here at this year’s Academy Awards Ceremony congratulating the Montgomery family for the record number of Oscars they’re bringing home tonight. The film Blood and Family takes a hard look at overcoming prejudice in America. It apparently struck a cord with the movie going public since it won eleven Oscars—eight alone will be going home with the Montgomery family.” Turning to Riker, Candy Hall, the interviewer asked, “Now Riker Montgomery, this isn’t your first Oscar, is it?”
She wrinkled her nose at him with a seductive smile. She could throw the invitation out there even if he seemed pretty taken with his beautiful, blonde wife.
“No, Candy, but it will always be the one I’m proudest of.” He smiled engagingly. “Having Blood and Family win Best Picture … we are all honored.”
He knew how to play the game but he just wasn’t going to play with her. Too bad. She turned to Bethany who was snuggled tightly in the crook of Riker’s arm.
“Bethany Black Montgomery, this is certainly a new experience for you, isn’t it? You’ve come a long way from children’s books and romantic thrillers. Oscar for an original screenplay, that’s big! Congratulations!”
“Thank you, Candy, but I didn’t write it alone. Riker, Lakon, Elke, Mik, Yancey, Tav, Marc, our whole family wrote it together—even our sweet little boys. Hi Kaden! Hi Kameron! Mommy loves you.” She blew two kisses toward the camera. “I’m sorry, Candy. Blood and Family means a lot to all of us. Riker did a wonderful job acting and directing, didn’t he?”
“I guess so since he’s taking home an Oscar for Best Director and another for Best Actor in a Leading Role.” Candy’s mouth was beginning to hurt. The fake smile was killing her. When she turned to Lakon, she saw that his fingers were entwined with Bethany’s. The woman had the industry’s best looking men in each hand! How fair was that?
“Lakon Montgomery, Oscar for Best Song and another for Best Movie Score. You even walked away with Best Supporting Actor in a Serious Role. How does that feel?”
Candy’s eyes narrowed as Lakon lifted Bethany’s hand to his lips. He kissed her knuckle lingeringly and winked at her. She grinned and Riker growled menacingly.
“It feels MAH-velous!” he purred.
“Now boys,” Bethany laughed at them, “If you keep it up, I’m going to sic your daddy on you.”
“Oh no! Not that! Dad’s as mean as a junkyard dog,” Riker was laughing now, too.
“Our dad’s a real son of a bitch, Candy. We’re pretty sure he was raised by wolves.” Lakon was choking with laughter now, too.
“I guess that’s where you two wolf-men get it,” Candy quipped with a sweet smile and a cherubic giggle.
It was all she could do to keep from rolling her eyes. Please, God save her from these “artistic types”. It sounded like the whole family was a little off.
The End
About the Author:
J.J. Massa began writing when she was laid off at her job. What seemed like an unhappy event became another blessing in disguise. She especially loves meeting deadlines in her Corona Light nightshirt and cow slippers.
Currently a Jersey Shore resident, J.J. lives with her patient husband, long-suffering teenage daughter, and very curious stepchildren. Her favorite writing partner is her yellow lab, although the visiting cats try to help her with the occasional plot twist. While she's lived all over the world and met a million people, the most unpredictable are the ones that show up in her books. Her favorite part about writing is finding out about these people and seeing what they decide to do.
She loves reading and writing paranormal stories because of the endless possibilities they present. Most of her books include suspense because she believes that every romance includes a conflict to be resolved. That's what keeps life interesting.
