We were only about another half hour away from his parents and I was attempting to pacify the little booby boy with his binky. We had just stopped about an hour ago so I could feed him and I didn’t want to stop again. I felt horrible that he was crying and it took everything I had in me not to give in and just make Adam pull over again.
“Natalie, baby, he’s okay.” I looked up from Luke to meet Adam’s eyes once again in the rearview mirror. “I know what you’re thinking, and you need to stop.”
“I feel like I’m starving him.” I blinked and a tear ran down my cheek.
“Natalie, enough. You can’t feed him every half hour babe. He’ll stop. Just let him cry it out for a little longer.”
After another five minutes, may I add that they were the longest five minutes of my life, Luke fell asleep. I let my head rest back against the seat and finally took a relieved deep breath.

Adam
I really didn’t want to wake Natalie when we arrived at my parent’s house. I knew she was exhausted.
She was an amazing mom, but I knew without a doubt that she would be. Luke would make the slightest noise in the middle of the night and she was up and in his room in two seconds flat. She felt like if she didn’t, she was neglecting him.
We took this trip to my parents and I had an ulterior motive. I knew Natalie needed a break. With my mom hovering over Luke, I could finally convince my girl to have some down time. I knew she could use it; I also knew it would be a fight to get her to accept it, but I was willing to try.
I had made plans to take her out to dinner and I even rented us a hotel room with a hot tub. I thought relaxing in the warm water would be a great way to spend the evening with her. One night away from Luke wouldn’t hurt us, and I could definitely use some alone time with Natalie.
My mom made her way outside and took Luke while I grabbed his bags and woke Natalie.
“Hey, beautiful. We’re here.”
Her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at me smiling. Then it registered that Luke wasn’t crying, and she spun sideways toward the spot where his seat would have been.
“Mom already took him inside. You need to go inside and pump, then I have plans for us.” She looked at me puzzled. “Dinner, and our first night away from little man.”
Natalie immediately started to shake her head and I placed my finger over her lips. “Yes. You can argue all you want, but, baby, we’re doing this. You need a night away, we need a night away.”
Natalie blinked a few times before she smiled beneath my finger. I slowly pulled back and she leaned forward to kiss me softly. “Okay, one night, but you’ll need to work extra hard to keep me occupied so my mind has no time to think about midnight feedings.”
I gripped the back of her neck and pulled her to me, kissing her harder this time. I rolled my tongue along hers and sucked on the tip before pulling back, leaving her wanting more. She whimpered lightly.
“I promise that I plan on keeping your mind and your beautiful body so busy you’ll barely have time to breathe before I’m on you again for another round. You are all mine tonight, Nat, no time for anything but us, baby. We need this.”
She nodded her head and I knew the fight was over. She knew we needed some us time. Things had happened so fast for us and I wanted to be sure we were safe. I needed Nat to know how much she meant to me. This girl fell into my life when I needed to be woken up, and damn, did she ever wake me up. She was the one I was meant to spend the rest of my life with. Luke and Natalie were my future, I would do everything I could to cherish them and protect them.
After we said our goodbyes to everyone, we made our way to the restaurant.
Just when our food arrived, both our phones went off with incoming text messages, we grabbed for them quickly. We thought it would be regarding Luke, but as we both read the message our eyes met one another’s.
Kole: Your brother is dead, dead…seriously dead. What the hell does he think my gym is a porn studio?
Natalie flipped her phone to face me as I read her message from Lexi…
Lexi: Brock got caught with his pants down in the showers. I guess he is just like Adam…oops sorry for the reminder but I think Kole may kill him. Things are slightly ugly here and Brock locked himself in Adam’s office.
I let my head hang in defeat. Kole didn’t have to kill Brock, I would. I stuck my neck out for him, I fought to get Kole to give him a chance. He moved in with Nat and me until he could get his feet on the ground, now the jackass goes and pulls this shit. I had a feeling that we would be cutting this trip short. I have had a run-in with Kole before and I knew Brock had his work cut out for him. Kole could produce one hell of a shit-storm when he was pissed.

Can’t forget my pal Maria. Girl, you know what you do and for those of you who don’t, let me just say, she gives me some of the greatest writing material to use. The best part about it is she does not even realize it because the crazy things she tells me about are seriously just part of her life. Some of our conversations are so out there…but for us they are normal. One of these days someone is going to get ahold of our phones and ransack Voxer on our phones. You can always make me laugh and most of the time without even trying to.
Lisa Watmough (RockWat Designs). Girl, you make Swag like no other. I love your ideas and creativity. You are always so helpful and on top of things. Thank you so much for being you. Thank you for your friendship and kindness…you truly are SO DAMN AWSOME!

About the Author
A little about me, let’s see where to start.
I love HEA stories, as long as they come packing a little heat. I need some excitement, some angst and moments that make me fan my face, those are always good too. I am an Illinois girl, born and raised. Simple and true, it honestly doesn’t take much to make me happy. I love the little things, they truly mean the most. I may have a slight addiction to my new Keurig, oh my, that thing is a godsend. And so fast too. I have two children who truly are my very best friends their faces never fail to put a smile on my face. I have been married to my husband for sixteen years and even though at times I want to beat him with a stick, I would never change the years we have had. We have learned and fallen, only to pick each other up, dust off the ache and help each other make it right.
I am one of those authors that adore my fans, I love to hear from you. After all it is because of each one of you that I continue to write. I look forward to you feedback.
