My heart gave a jerk against my ribcage at the firmness of her tone, the total badass way she dealt with the fear of anyone coming to hurt us in this isolated wilderness. My dick began to harden as well and I took a deep breath before throwing my cup of coffee aside and pulling her against me while crushing her lips with mine.
We stood there and kissed like wild animals, not even caring how dangerous the spot where we stood was because with Wynter, nothing ever felt wrong. When we came up for air, she gazed at me with sultry eyes and I narrowed mine at her and made her a promise which I knew I would never regret.
“Wynnie,” I said, sounding just as cold as she did. “I won’t be able to look the other way at all, you know.” She frowned at me uncertainly and I stared deep into her eyes until it felt like there was an invisible thread connecting our very souls. “Because I’ll be too busy helping you bury the bodies.”
Her eyes went wide at my statement and the slow grin that spread across her face was everything. Maybe we were both twisted if seeing the darkest parts of each other made us admire the other even more. Or maybe we really were legendary because we witnessed each other’s depravity and still chose to love each other through it all.
“Ride or die, Wynter,” I whispered to her, touching my lips to hers once again and shutting out everything else but the feel of her.
This whole thing had started out because of her obsession with me. But I was the one who was obsessed now. I was the one willing to kick everything away so that I could live and breathe her every day. And why shouldn’t I allow myself to revel in this insanity? Nothing else in this world made sense without her anyway.
