Charlie
Waiting patiently wasn’t really in my skillset. I made people wait. I didn’t get made to wait. Well, not until I had to go to the doctors. I had man flu a week ago, had come to the doctor who’d told me that I was due for a skin check. So, this week, I was back. Luckily, this lovely doctor was hot.
I pretended to read a magazine, so I didn’t have to pay attention to the receptionist who was giving me doe eyes. I couldn’t help but think, honey I would ruin an innocent like you. I sighed because she had beautiful skin that I would love to mark, a pretty face I would love to fuck.
The doctor came out, called me in, breaking me out of my own thoughts. I followed her in as she apologized for keeping me waiting.
“Ok, so skin check. Let’s get your shirt off and work our way down, shall we?”
Smiling, I took off my jacket and folded it. Wanting to fuck this woman senseless wasn’t helping. You should see her legs. They went all the way up till they made a cunt of themselves. I could see myself between her legs. I’d wanted her for quite a while now. I finished getting undressed, folding everything neatly.
Doctor Hannah studied my reports. “How have you been feeling?”
“I’m perfectly fine.”
“Not tired or lethargic?”
I chuckled as my shirt came off. “Only after a big night.” I wondered if I could seduce her while the exam was being conducted, she would have to touch me. I wasn’t allowed to touch her. Hmm, challenge? No, I have a meeting after this. Need to be angry and not happy.
Hannah asked me to sit on the examination table. Then looked at the few moles I had with her little camera taking photos of each.
I was thoroughly enjoying her touch. Hannah was professional and smelled good.
Then she made a little noise.
I cocked an eyebrow before glancing back at her as she was inspecting a mole, just below my shoulder blade. “Why did you make that sound?”
“This one has changed. Do you have an extra few minutes for me to take it out after I finish?”
I blinked. “Is it that urgent?”
“I would recommend it. If you can’t, I will book an appointment for after hours today.”
I sat there and couldn’t help thinking that the very sexy doctor, Hannah was overreacting while she finished expecting the rest of me. “The rest all right?”
“Looks like it. I still don’t like that one though.”
Not being one to muck around, I told her to just take it out. I had back to back meetings and a new sub to fuck tonight, well if she dared…I could do her tonight.
I got up, lay on the table while she got a nurse to come in and assist her. I was warned about a sting. I just grunted my permission before it felt like I had been hit with a whip.
MOTHERFUCKER THAT STUNG!
Hannah just kept poking me.
“Are you done?” I asked getting a little annoyed.
“I did warn you.”
“You said a sting. Not multiple.” It didn’t impress me when she giggled. “It isn’t funny.”
“No, it isn’t. But I want to make sure you are numb.” She touched the area she had just assaulted. “How does that feel?”
I told her it was fine.
Hannah left it another couple minutes while she finished getting ready.
I lay on my front, listening to her banter and quickly realized this beautiful doctor was gay.
As she started to cut into me, I asked, “Why women? Has a man never been able to do it for you?”
Hannah giggled. “Not really. I like women. I make no secret of it. Always have.”
“So, have I.” I smiled. “But you didn’t answer the question.”
“Had a couple boyfriends in high school, lost my virginity to a football player.”
“Oh. Ok.” That made sense.
Hannah laughed. “What is wrong with a football player?”
“If you’d lost your virginity to a musician you would know.” I grinned.
“Hmm, thing is I don’t find men attractive,” she said then asked if I was feeling anything.
I told her no, then said, “I don’t find men attractive either.”
Laugher…one way to a woman’s panties.
She finished cutting the offending mole out of my skin then stitched me up.
It was such a weird feeling. I couldn’t really feel anything but I could feel tugging as she closed the stitches. I hated local anesthetics. I handed her my phone and asked her to take a photo, so I could see the damage.
THERE WERE 20 FUCKING STITCHES!
I stared at her as she informed me the biopsy would be sent away for testing. I gave the nurse a weird look as this woman who looked older than the dark ages looped a band around my arm. “We will take some blood work—”
“You took blood last week.” I was tested regularly for STDs, even though I always without exception wore protection. If I picked something up, I wanted to know about it, deal with it as soon as possible. Being responsible, since I sometimes had multiple partners in one night. I liked my body and looked after it.
The 20 stitches though, was going to be a bastard. I loved to fuck in the little free time I had. This meant I would have to be careful. The last thing I wanted was a nasty scar.
She gave me pain killers and a couple of dressings before I went down to my waiting driver.
He opened the car door.
I got in as my phone rang.
“Ian, how did you go with your meeting?” I asked.
“It went as expected. I got my way.”
I chuckled. “Good to hear. Are you going to the club tonight?”

No, we have the fucking fundraiser you talked me into, remember?”
“Fuck! I forgot about it.” It was for a veteran’s charity. I always supported vets when I could. More so, when I knew the money would go to where it was needed. Ian and I chatted while I was returned to the office. I only finished the call as I walked into a meeting with my board.
Having stitches where I had them was a real bitch. It hurt. I was taking the pain killers that had been prescribed for me. Being in pain made me more of an asshole than normal. It had been three days and I was just about ready to go home from work, when the doctor called asking me to come back in.
Hannah was waiting for me, looking hotter than ever.
I intended to hit on her but she looked serious as she asked me to sit down. My beautiful doctor took a seat behind her desk, gazed at my file for a moment, and then looked up at me.
I knew as Hannah stared at me I was about to get some bad news. I took a breath and waited.
“Sometimes I hate my job,” she said softly, giving her head a little shake, then took a deep breath. Hannah looked me in the eye and announced, “The mole that was cut out was a melanoma. I have already sent through a referral to an oncologist who is waiting to see you tonight.”
I sat there stunned. I blinked, staring at her. “Huh? You took it all out.”
Nodding, she admitted, “I did. But the blood tests I ran… showed that you still have cancer in your body.” She got up and handed me piece of paper, which was a copy of the referral. “You need to go there now. He will run the tests.”
“I have other plans tonight.”
“I pulled serious strings to get you in to see him and to have the tests done tonight. The melanoma is aggressive, Charlie. You have cancer showing up in your blood tests. The sooner we start treatment, the more chance of recovery.”
I was a very in control person. But as I walked back to the car, I wouldn’t admit it aloud but I was having a brown pants moment. I gave the driver the address. Twenty minutes later, I was greeted by a man who looked older than the sun. He held my file in his hand as we greeted. We then walked down the halls of the hospital to a room with a MRI machine.
He asked me to roll up my sleeve before a nurse injected dye into the vein. He asked if I got claustrophobia to which I answered yes. I didn’t really but before the last hour, I had been a perfectly healthy, slightly annoyed man. Now I have cancer, being put through more tests. My nerves were shot. I was scared.
I was instructed to get dressed into a gown. Looking in the mirror, I didn’t look sick, maybe I’d lost a little weight, but I had also been more addicted to the gym. Or so I had thought. Not quite set on handing over my man card, I went out with the gown barely covering me. Being 6 foot 6, I had all my clothes tailor made.
After being given a mild sedative, I lay down on a freezing cold bed. The nurses covered me up because it was fucking cold in that room. They put a blindfold over my eyes, then placed headphones on my ears. The radiologist spoke asking me to stay still as the sedative started to take effect. I melted into the bed a little and took a breath.
Then the bed moved. My heart rate picked up.
The machine was really fucking loud. It wasn’t a sound that was pleasant. Being a musician for most of my life, I tried to find a rhythm or something in the noise and couldn’t. I was in there for so long that had the sedative not been a little stronger than I had originally thought, I would have been screaming for it to stop.
I could have sworn the machine was closing in on me.
“You are doing well Mr. Morrissey, just a few minutes more. Nearly done,” a man’s voice sounded in the head phones I was wearing.
How the hell did they know I was freaking out?
When the noise stopped, I took a breath. If I wasn’t claustrophobic before this?
WELL, I FUCKING WAS NOW!
A pretty nurse was the first thing I saw as the head phones, and the blindfold was removed.
Nurse gave me a kind smile as she helped me sit up. “I don’t like them either.” This little nurse confided, “You’re a lot braver than I am. The last time I had to be put into a machine like that I had to be fully sedated.” She touched my hand. I squeezed it gently “Come on you are looking a little drowsy. How about I help you get dressed and walk you to the doctor’s room?”
It was like I was in slow motion as I did need to be helped a little. She was professional and kind. I wanted to spank her for it. I didn’t want her help. But right now, I found I did need it. When she left the little dressing room for a moment, I was dressed before she returned with a wheel chair.
“I don’t need that,” I stated.
“You are a little unsteady. Please take the seat. I will take you down to the office.”
I sighed before reluctantly taking the seat. She pushed me to the doctor’s office.
He had his back to the door, looking at scans on the lit whiteboard.
I stared at the scans and all the white highlighted circles.
It was then when I thought, if that is me, I am fucked. I’m going to die. Instantly, I tried to talk myself out of it. I liked positive. Positive was good. Positive wasn’t scary.
The doctor turned, looked at me, then looked at the blood reports.
My phone rang.
“If that is a friend, you will need them to stay with you tonight after that sedative. If you can’t, I will admit you for the night,” the doctor said.
I looked at him wide eyed as I answered the call.
“I am serious,” he added
“Charlie, I need a drink man. Where you at?” Ben asked.
I went to talk, choked on my words then asked, “Could you come pick me up? I um—I was given some medication…I’m not allowed to be on my own.”
“Shit, ok. Where are you? Do you want me to call the boys or your parents?”
“No, don’t call anyone. Just come get me.” I gave him the address and hung up. I stared blankly at my phone as I struggled. I bit my lip, then scratched my head for no reason. “I have cancer.”
“You do,” he said softly.
“I am going to die.”
He nodded. “You need to make preparations…”
For a moment, my heart stopped… I wanted to be sick. Then I rallied. Don’t go down without a fight. “Treatment?” I kept my hands moving as I texted my driver and asked him to go home for the night.
“Nothing that will work. I’m sorry you are stage four. It is a very aggressive cancer.”
“Would it give me more time?”
He shook his head. “No. I am sorry.”
“How much time?”
He made me wait a minute. “Maybe a month.”
I gaped at him wide eyed, ran my fingers through my hair and shook my head. “You are kidding.”
“I am sorry.”
“I want a second, third and fourth opinion,” I stated as anger started to set in. Good thing I was flying high on the sedative.
He nodded. “I don’t blame you. I will send through the test results. They will contact you. But you do need to prepare…I’m so sorry.”
I nodded and just sat there in my own head.
I didn’t notice him moving… A firm hand was on my shoulder. I looked up to realize Ben had arrived.
He watched me then said, “Come on, I’ll take you home.”
I nodded and thanked the doctor.
Ben kept a firm grip on my arm as we walked out. He put me in the car and took me home.
Ben.
Talk about an unexpected turn of events. I was in the mood to go out and get really fucking drunk. Instead, I had to go to an oncologist’s office to pick up a sedated Charlie.
He was sitting on the couch, scotch in his hand which was completely forgotten as he stared at the coffee table.
One glance at his scans, I knew he was fucked. They were lit up like Fourth of July fireworks.
He still looked very drowsy.
“Do you want me to put you in bed, so you can sle
ep the shit they gave you off?” I asked.
He blinked and peered up at me. “I have a month to live.”
I froze. “Is that what he said?”
He nodded and swallowed his scotch in one mouthful. “Yep. I have asked for more opinions.”
“I don’t blame you. Surely, there’s some treatment, surgery?”
He shook his head. “No.” He poured another scotch. “I’m fucked. I’ll go see these other doctors and see what they say. Then I have to work out how the fuck I’m going to tell my family.” He looked at me. “How the hell am I going to tell them?” He swallowed that scotch too, then looked at me like I could help him.
“Just wait and see what the other doctors say,” I suggested, downing my scotch as well. I poured another while shaking my head. “You don’t look sick.”
“I don’t fucking feel sick,” he snapped. “I had a skin check twelve months ago, like always. Nothing was wrong! I have had blood tests. How come it hasn’t been picked up on the tests before now?”
“You’ll have to ask the doctors.”
Charlie grumbled and shook his head. “They sedated me.”
“The doctor told me he did.”
“Why did he give me something so strong?”
“Probably because you were freaking the fuck out.”
He sat back, sipped the scotch, sighed. “Is my will up to date?”
I nodded. “Yeah. Any changes?”
He shrugged. “I don’t know. I really don’t want to break up the company. I don’t want to sell it either.” He smiled “Maybe I will give it away to a random woman who lets me into her panties.”
I rolled my eyes. “Is it in your brain?”
“I think that’s the one place it isn’t,” he muttered. “It’s everywhere Ben. How the fuck does it spread and me not notice?”
“I wish I had the answer for you Buddy, but I just don’t.”
He nodded. “Want to watch a movie while this shit wears off. I’ll figure out what to fucking do in the morning.”
