“Morning.” He stretched and looked around like he didn’t know where he was, before sitting up and pressing his back into the headboard.
“You hungry? I can make you some breakfast.”
“Uh, yeah, sure. Thanks.” He ran his hand over his hair, and then grabbed his phone off the dresser to check it. When he saw me watching him, his brows dipped so I just left the room.
It was hard not to notice that he stayed on his phone a lot. When I logged onto our AT&T account to pay the bill with his card one day, I saw a number that he’d contacted frequently about a month ago. The times were late at night, but the texts were throughout the day. He and this person sent six thousand texts over one month, which was alarming to say the least. I contemplated calling it, but I was too scared to find out who was on the other end.
Chaz wasn’t the unfaithful type, so me finding out he was interested in another woman would surely break me, so I didn’t want to face the music by calling. Granted, I didn’t love him like I used to and had planned on leaving him sometime this year, but that was before his constant communication with that number. Knowing someone else had possibly— no did catch his eye, had me jealous for the first time in a long time. I refused to lose him to someone else.
I plugged in the waffle maker after making up the mix, and while it got hot, I checked the AT&T account on my phone. I saw he hadn’t spoken to the person that the number belonged to in a couple weeks, which prompted me to let out a sigh of relief and begin cooking.
By the time I was finished, Chaz was out of the bathroom, smelling scrumptious and looking good as hell as always.
“Hey umm, my brother is in the studio and he’s kind of booked for the rest of the day, so Kordell and I are gonna get in there early.”
“Seems like Mischief has been pushing y’all to the side,” I responded, somewhat angrily.
“I mean, nah. He doesn’t charge us as much so we have to sacrifice shit too. I’m not gonna take time that he could spend with niggas who are paying him full price for a session, Jade.”
“Whatever.”
He came behind me and hugged my body, so I dropped the plate I was making on the counter and sighed heavily.
“Don’t be mad, baby. The session will be over around two in the afternoon, and I’ll come home to you. Maybe we can go eat or see a movie or some shit.” He let me go and grabbed a piece of bacon off the plate I’d made for him.
“Yeah, sure.”
He kissed my neck and then smacked my ass before roughly grabbing it. I watched him as he texted away on his phone, before leaving out of the apartment like what just happened was okay.
Fuck this, I said to myself.
I quickly ate my food, and then went to the bedroom to get my purse and phone. I was gonna go back to the plans I’d already had set for the day since Chaz wanted to be a neglectful asshole.
When I got into my car, I turned on my Tamia CD, and jammed the whole way to my destination in Cerritos. It was a nice morning in the middle of the week, so there were a lot of parks on the street, when usually it’d be packed because I normally came over after work. Only reason I was off was because today was some Jewish holiday and the bodily injury claims office I worked in was closed.
Me: I’m here.
Adrian: Door is open.
I smiled before locking my phone and dropping it into my purse. Before getting out of the car, I looked up and down the street to make sure I didn’t see any of Chaz’s hood ass childhood friends. Everybody seemed to know every Benjamin in that family, and I didn’t need Chaz interrogating me on why I was in Cerritos.
I made my way up to Adrian’s studio apartment, which was decked the fuck out by the way, and walked in. We had the same job, but Adrian was a supervisor, not of my department but a neighboring one.
“Hey, beautiful. I just cooked, you hungry?” Adrian smiled, coming up to me and hugging me tightly before kissing my neck.
“No, I just made breakfast at home.”
“Aight, come sit down.”
We walked to the living room area where I set my purse down and plopped onto the couch. I sighed heavily as I stared out the window. I felt so uncomfortable in my personal life, and it was starting to take a toll on my physical.
“You good?” Adrian rubbed my thigh.
“I shouldn’t have come over here,” I said, still looking out the window. When Adrian didn’t respond, I glanced over.
“I thought we were gonna try with this thing we got going on, Jade?”
“I know, I know, but, I think I should give my marriage another chance. Chaz isn’t some boyfriend, he’s my husband.”
“And what about the bitch he’d been conversing with on the daily? You just gon’ let that shit go, huh?”
“Yes I am! And you don’t know if it was some bitch. It could have been a business deal or anything! You don’t know!”
I knew it was very unlikely that the person who owned that dreadful number was someone other than a pretty hoe.
“Keep believing that,” Adrian chuckled, biting the breakfast burrito.
“And I’m no better. I haven’t actually been as faithful as I should have been because of what we do. I’m a terrible person.”
I met Adrian through work, obviously, and at first, we were just friends. It went from just having lunch together since we were scheduled at the same time, to us talking on the phone while Chaz stayed in the studio from sun up to sun down. Then one day we went to dinner because we were both free and bored, and one thing led to another. So here it was nine months later, and I was sort of having an affair. All Adrian and I did was kiss, and I would get head sometimes, but that was it. Adrian only had my burner number and we communicated mainly through a dummy email I’d created. Just in case Chaz checked the bill like I did, I didn’t want him to see Adrian on it.
“You’re not terrible, you’re just unhappy and I can make you happy.” Adrian got down onto the floor and started to kiss on my thighs.
Biting down on my lip at the feeling, I spread my legs after watching my panties move down past my ankles. Adrian’s mouth pressed against my pussy, and I moaned loudly at the feeling. I didn’t know who gave better head, Adrian or Chaz, but at the moment, I didn’t want to give up on either. As my nails scraped against the couch, I called out in a high pitched moan just before cumming so hard my body jerked multiple times.
“Fuck,” I whimpered, letting my head fall back against the couch as my chest heaved up and down. Adrian continued sucking my clit hard while fingering me, until my legs were shaking and I exploded again. “Wait, no, what are you doing?” I put my hand up as I used my other hand to grab my thong from the floor.
“Just let me put it in, Jade.”
“No! For the hundredth time, I told you no! Chaz will notice and I don’t want him to.”
“He won’t know shit! That nigga can’t tell if someone else has been inside you!”
“Yes he can! I don’t know how, but he’s that type of nigga. He can sense things that he has no way of knowing.”
Adrian was probably right, but Chaz had always been a very intelligent guy. He could read signs that you didn’t even know you were giving. He’d just come out of the blue and put you on blast about some shit that you probably thought was impossible for him to know. Every day I feared I would walk through that door and he’d confront me about Adrian.
What if he did know and that was why he found that other woman? Oh fuck. Shit! God, please don’t let that be the case.
“Jade, please, baby, you don’t even love—”
“Yes I do! I love him very much, which is why I married him! Who I don’t love is you, and stop acting like I planned to leave him for you because I never said that!” I shouted as I stood up, snatching my purse from the couch, and marching to the door with my panties in hand.
“You’re just scared, Jade. You’re gonna always be unhappy unless you stop being afraid and you know that.”
“Fuck off, and don’t ever contact me ag
ain.”
I yanked the door open and slammed it as hard as I could behind me. I rushed down to my car, and as soon as I got inside, I burst into tears.
Chapter Three: Kordell Benjamin
This afternoon, my brothers, cousin, and I were going to a barbecue at Rowley Park in Gardena. This artist Nuzi that Mischief was working with was throwing it, and had invited us.
I planned to drink, eat a lot of food, smoke, and mack on some hoes, so today would be a good day. And I deserved that shit because I’d been working my ass off in the studio, doing shows, and shooting a few videos. Now that Chaz and I were on the radio, our demand had increased so I had less time to fuck off. Plus, when I did have free time, I found myself spending it with Cassie’s fine ass and my baby girl, Melody.
Seeing the few kids run around the park made me think about them. Surprisingly, I’d much rather be doing some shit with them two, but I needed to fall back. Cassie didn’t seem like she was trying to get serious with me, and shit, I didn’t want to either at first, but after being around her and her daughter so much, I guess I’d changed my mind. I didn’t want another nigga getting up inside Cassie, and I also didn’t want another nigga getting close to Melody. I know, crazy to say since I wasn’t even baby girl’s father.
“Gang of fine ass bitches here, “ Ishmael commented, and my brothers and I all mumbled in agreement.
The weather was perfect, so the females here were wearing next to nothing. Most of them had on little ass shorts showing off their pussy prints, and tight ass tops to accentuate their titties. Fuck what I was thinking about just a minute ago; there was no way I was ready to be with just one woman.
“Hey,” some bitch smiled and waved, biting down on her lip as I walked by.
I nodded to say what’s up and watched her ass jiggle over my shoulder for a little bit, but didn’t stop. I wanted to scope the scene first and find the finest bitch in here. I ain’t want to prematurely ejaculate and pick a bitch that was on the bottom of the totem pole. And trust me, old girl that walked by would be waiting for me, so I didn’t have to worry about her linking up with somebody else while I window shopped.
Mischief introduced us to Nuzi and I noticed he straight up ignored Nuzi’s homeboy. I followed suit because anybody my brother didn’t fuck with, I didn’t fuck with. I didn’t care to know why, and I didn’t need to know why.
“That song y’all got on Power is dope. ‘Something New’?” Nuzi smiled as we took seats at this park table.
“Yeah. Thanks,” Chaz and I replied simultaneously.
The park was full of people, most of them to celebrate this nigga’s birthday. I saw he had a few security niggas scattered around looking like they were in James Bond movies, which made me chuckle.
The music was loud, the food was plentiful, and it looked like the drinks were too. I was definitely about to get into some trouble today.
“We should work together on something. Since I’m doing a couple tracks with your brother, we should all put a song together to one of his beats. I think the shit would be hot,” Nuzi pulled my attention from this girl across the way that was staring me down. Her face wasn’t that cute, but her body was like some shit I had never seen before. She looked a bit familiar, but I didn’t care to try and figure out where I’d seen her. As long as she wasn’t anybody related to me, we were good.
“Yeah, we’ll see if we can come together on something,” Chaz replied, glancing down at his phone for the thousandth time today. Nigga was checking for somebody, and I bet it was that little sexy Hershey’s kiss that was in our video.
“I’m Rico by the way,” Nuzi’s homie spoke up. Chaz and I ignored him because he, Mischief, and I were one. Ishmael nodded to say what’s up, but I could tell he wasn’t trying to speak to Rico for the same fucking reasons. “Aye, Mischief, I want to apologize for pushing up on ya girl. I ain’t know she was taken.”
Oh, so that’s where the beef comes from…
My brother just stared at him blankly, clearly not in the mood to make up with this nigga. Mischief was stupid for Laine’s fine ass, so I knew there was no hope for he and Rico becoming homies.
Nuzi had some girls come over who took note of what we wanted and went to get our plates. I watched them hoes closely because I didn’t play about my damn food. After eating about three plates, playing dominoes, drinking, and smoking a bit, a lot of time had passed and it was now dusk. Nobody really left except the kids, so the park was still full as fuck.
“I’m ready to go,” Chaz mumbled, drunker than I’d seen him in years. We were all twisted, and still trying to play dominoes in the damn dark. The park lights weren’t helping for shit.
“So were you ever gonna come talk to me?” The girl from earlier showed up, standing right in front of me.
Yeah, she definitely wasn’t the prettiest, she was doable though. Her body was another fucking story up close. All I needed was a paper bag to put over her head and we’d be gravy.
“Damn,” I mumbled as I took her in and we both laughed.
“This nigga here,” Ishmael pointed to me with his thumb like he didn’t have some random in his lap. She was fine as hell, but her shape had nothing on baby girl right in front of me.
“You know I’ve been giving you signals all night.” She sat between Chaz and I. Chaz hopped up like she had a disease, making Mischief chuckle.
“My bad, I got caught up chilling with my brothers and these niggas. What you doing for the rest of the night though?” I licked my lips, keeping my eyes below her neck.
“What should I be doing?”
“Got a couple suggestions for you. But umm, look, I hope you know what my plans are for the night. I’m trying to fuck.” I told her the real because I didn’t want another situation like what happened with Cassie and I the first time. And shit, at least Cassie was a ten from top to bottom. If this butter face bitch tried to hold back tonight, I might deck her ass in the mouth.
“That’s cool. So when?”
“Let’s go.”
“Farrah!” her homegirl called what I now knew to be her name.
She gave her a look, so Farrah turned to Mischief and said, “Hey, this is my friend, Donna.”
“Great,” Mischief replied, before he, Nuzi, Ishmael and I started dying laughing. I didn’t know if I was cross faded as fuck or what, but that shit was funny. We laughed for about ten minutes straight it seemed, clearly irritating the girls but like with everything else… we didn’t give a fuck.
“I’ve been wanting to meet you for a minute,” Donna walked up on my brother.
“Why?” Mischief questioned.
You could tell that shit caught her off guard because she looked at Farrah for a brief moment, before turning her attention back to Mischief.
Moving closer to him she responded, “Because I wanna get to know you.”
Massaging his temples with his eyes closed, he said, “Aye, whatever the fuck perfume you got on is giving me a banging ass headache.” Getting up, he grabbed his red cup and started off to talk to Chaz.
“So should we go to your place?” Farrah turned to me, looking a little embarrassed for her homegirl who was standing there looking as stupid as she probably felt.
“Nah, we can go to that bathroom over there. No offense, but I don’t know you like that so you can’t come to the crib.”
“Are you serious?”
I shrugged, eyes closing periodically since I was twisted like a muthafucka. I would never sugarcoat shit with an ugly bitch. There were plenty of better looking hoes here that I could smash tonight, so if she wasn’t down to get me right in that bathroom, I was chucking the deuces up to her ass. Not to mention, the longer I talked to her the uglier she got.
After looking at her friend who I hadn’t noticed was there for a second, she replied, “Okay, but let’s exchange numbers first.”
“Aight, what’s yours?” I went into the burner app on my iPhone and typed in her number as she read it off. When I had it, I texted her f
rom it.
“Why is the send button green if you have an iPhone too?”
Fuck, think quickly, Kordell.
“Look, I’m tired as hell and ready to bust one so if we gon’ do this, let’s go.” I stood up and her ass did too.
“Before you go, can you talk to Chaz for me? I’m Amelia,” her other friend stopped me.
“Fuck I look like? A matchmaker? You better open yo’ mouth like ya homegirl is about to do.”
Farrah and I kept it pushing and once we got inside the cement built bathroom, she pushed me up against the wall. I didn’t even mind that we weren’t gonna go into a stall. I wanted to hurry up before Chaz left my ass at this park. He would do that shit too. Hating ass nigga.
“Fuck,” I groaned as she bobbed on my dick.
Letting my head fall back against the wall, I panted heavily because I swear she had no fucking gag reflex. Bitch had a replica of the Grand Canyon at the back of her throat.
Gripping her red plastic feeling hair, I began humping her face and she didn’t lose her rhythm once. Finally, I looked down at her as I was on the verge of nutting, and had to immediately look away because she was so damn ugly and pale.
“Damn, fuck. I’m about to nut,” I mumbled, still holding her hair and thrusting into her mouth feverishly.
As soon as I felt myself about to explode, I pulled out and came all over her face.
“What the fuck!” she screamed, hands up in mock surrender.
Clapping my hands, I laughed loudly as fuck before putting my dick up. I washed my hands quickly, and the whole time she was just frozen, still in disbelief I guess.
“My bad,” was all I said before I left the bathroom. I planned to fuck her but since I didn’t have that paper bag to put over that face made for radio, I changed my mind.
As I walked out, I saw my brother Chaz about to pull from the curb to leave my ass, so I ran out the gate and crossed Van Ness Avenue to get to his car.
“Almost got left,” he said as Mischief turned up the heat in the front seat.
“I know. Fuck you.”
