by Raand, L. L.

The intercom beeped and she punched the on button with a gloved finger.

“What is it?” she asked shortly. “I gave strict instructions not to be disturbed.”

“I’m sorry, Dr. Standish,” said a voice she recognized as that of the security guard stationed at the entrance to the high-security wing. “I have an urgent message for you.”

  “What then?”

“Er…the Vam—ah, Luce insists on giving it to you personally.”

“All right. I’ll be out in a moment.” Veronica rubbed her face, settling herself. She wasn’t normally so short-tempered, and her focus was usually much better. Of course, the pressure of moving her lab, losing all of her previous work, and the weight of everything that depended on these new experiments explained her lack of control. Nothing to be concerned about. What was it she needed to do?

Luce. Luce wanted to speak to her. She smiled. Luce was here. Luce must be as hungry as she. Just thinking about the piercing pleasure of Luce’s bite, the flood of ecstasy that followed, made her clitoris tighten. She dashed off a few notes in the recorder she carried in her pocket and hurried toward the decontamination area. She pulled off her mask, gloves, and gown, hurriedly washed up, and keyed the combination to the airlock door. When she pushed through, Luce waited on the other side.

Veronica took Luce’s arm, pressed her breast against Luce’s side, and whispered, “I’m so glad you’re here. I need you too.”

“I’m sorry, you might have to wait.”

Veronica frowned. “What are you talking about?”

  “Come with me.”

  “I don’t understand—”

“I took the liberty of using your office,” Luce said, hurrying Veronica through the halls.

“My office?” Veronica shook her head, finding it difficult to concentrate again. Whenever she was around Luce, she seemed to lose her train of thought so easily. Reason surrendered to sensation. Urgency, hunger, need. Such incredible need. “Yes, yes. Whatever you say.”

Luce grasped the handle on Veronica’s door and pushed it wide. Veronica stumbled into her office in a haze of sexual need.

“First we must see to your guest,” Luce said, and locked the door.

“Raand has built a complex world inhabited by werewolves, vampires, and other paranormal beings…Raand has given her readers a complex plot filled with wonderful characters as well as insight into the hierarchy of Sylvan’s pack and vampire clans. There are many plot twists and turns, as well as erotic sex scenes in this riveting novel that keep the pages flying until its satisfying conclusion.”—Just About Write

“Once again, I am amazed at the storytelling ability of L.L. Raand aka Radclyffe. In Blood Hunt, she mixes high levels of sheer eroticism that will leave you squirming in your seat with an impeccable multi-character storyline all streaming together to form one great read.”—Queer Magazine Online

“The Midnight Hunt has a gripping story to tell, and while there are also some truly erotic sex scenes, the story always takes precedence. This is a great read which is not easily put down nor easily forgotten.”—Just About Write

“Are you sick of the same old hetero vampire/werewolf story plastered in every bookstore and at every movie theater? Well, I’ve got the cure to your werewolf fever. The Midnight Hunt is first in, what I hope is, a long-running series of fantasy erotica for L.L. Raand (aka Radclyffe).”—Queer Magazine Online

“Any reader familiar with Radclyffe’s writing will recognize the author’s style within The Midnight Hunt, yet at the same time it is most definitely a new direction. The author delivers an excellent story here, one that is engrossing from the very beginning. Raand has pieced together an intricate world, and provided just enough details for the reader to become enmeshed in the new world. The action moves quickly throughout the book and it’s hard to put down.”—Three Dollar Bill Reviews
