Lilian's coquettish smile looked surprisingly innocent. Kevin knew this because, despite hiding his face behind his hands, he still peeked at her from between his fingers.
A prude he may have been, but Kevin was still a guy.
“Do you like it?”
Lilian's vibrant red hair flew around her body as she spun, causing Kevin to rear back as if struck. The flowing cloth of the baby-doll split at her back, allowing an extensive view of her fair complexion and her small, shapely buttocks.
Kevin stared, his mind almost freezing in place as it tried to memorize every aspect of Lilian's gloriously tight rear end. Located at the small of her back was another pink bow, which had six small strips of lacy cloth flowing out from and connecting it to the rest of the undergarment. This left a large diamond shaped cut-out in the center of her rear, showing off a good deal of her interglutial cleft.
That… was just a really scientific way of saying her butt crack.
Her tail stuck out of the diamond-shaped cutout. Kevin, as an animal enthusiast, had a hard time resisting a girl with such a mighty fine tail. It didn't help that he was a teenage boy with slightly Otaku tendencies.
Kevin could have sworn his life flashed before his eyes as he gawked at this unfettered glimpse of Lilian's perfectly shaped twin cheeks.
It was only after his brain managed to reboot that he realized something.
“Where did you even get that?”
She had never worn this piece of lingerie before. Then again, she seemed to have something new to wear each night they went to bed. Was this another special female ability? Generating random lingerie whenever they wanted? What a Dangerous ability. Capitol on the D.
“Wait. Is this one of the outfits that you have in your storage space?”
“No, I got this one when we were shopping.” Lilian smiled and walked over to him. No. Not walked. Walking was far too simple a term for what she was doing. Stalking would be more accurate. She slinked over to him like some kind of jungle cat that had just found their prey, and Kevin was the one she wanted to pounce on.
“W-what are you doing?”
Kevin took a step back. Lilian took a step forward.
“I feel like this relationship has been moving far too slowly,” Lilian told him, taking another step forward, her voice low. Kevin moved back again.
“What relationship?!”
Kevin took another step back. Unfortunately, in his desire to keep away from the twin-tailed vixen, he never bothered looking behind him.
His legs knocking against the bed, Kevin tumbled backwards with a startled yelp, landing on the mattress with a bounce.
Lilian did not stop her forward advance, much to Kevin's horror. The gorgeous girl in sexy lingerie continued closing in on him, her hips swaying enticingly with each step she took.
“For a while now, I have been waiting patiently for you to make the first move and properly ravish me.”
Kevin's face couldn't possibly get any redder than it was now.
“What do you mean ravish you?! I'm not ravishing anyone!”
“But, since it seems you are far too shy to initiate our first sexual experience together, I'm beginning to see that I need to make the first move.”
Lilian had realized that if she ever wanted this relationship to advance, she would have to step up and take charge. This was the answer she had come up with for her earlier quandary, the one she'd had before her close encounter with the pompadour haircut kind.
“Stop ignoring me! There will be no sexual experiences here!”
“Ufufufu, come on, Beloved. There's nothing to be afraid of.”
“It's when you say things like that, that I'm the most afraid―EEP!”
***
“EEP!”
Ms. Vis' jerked her head up, startled by the sudden and loud squeal. It eerily reminded her of a mouse after it's been caught by a cat.
She looked around, frantic, her head turning this way and that. Where was she? What was going on? What was she doing here?
It was only after several seconds of staring that she remembered: she was on top of an apartment building, her trusty telescope sitting on its tripod, aimed at the window to the apartment Mr. Swift and that girl had entered. It was dark outside now. She must have fallen asleep.
“WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!”
Ms. Vis' head jerked again at the shrill shout. It didn't take her long to realize where it was coming from. Excitedly, she looked back through her telescope, wondering if she would finally have that blackmail material she needed to coerce that redheaded she-devil with.
The excitement left and a scowl crossed her face when she saw that the curtains were still closed.
“Ufufufu, you're so cute when you act all shy and embarrassed!”
So that girl was still there? How atrocious! Didn't she realize it was past curfew?
“I'm not cute―EEP! GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF THERE!”
“Ufufufu, now why would I do that?”
Ms. Vis's eyes widened as she continued listening. What was going on in there? Why couldn't someone open those curtains so she could see what was happening? It sounded absolutely scandalous!
“WOULD YOU STOP TOUCHING ME THERE!”
“Ufufufu, why? It's clear you like it.”
“NO I DON'T!”
“Your mouth says one thing, but your body says something else.”
“Ugh… N-no…”
“Ufufufu…”
Ms. Vis paled as she continued listening to the conversation. It sounded like that girl was trying to take advantage of Mr. Swift! She knew that girl was bad news! Forget trying to coerce her! She was going to call the authorities and make sure that girl was gone for good!
Unfortunately, when she reached for her cellphone, it wasn't in her pocket. She searched through all of them, even going so far as to turn them inside out and still couldn't find it! Where was it?
“OH, DEAR GOD!”
Kevin's scream reminded her that she needed to be quick. Haste makes waste. Now, where did she put her cell phone… where was it, where was… ah! She must have left it in her car! Perhaps it had slipped from her pocket when she exited the vehicle?
“Ahn! L-Lilian! Stop it! No more! I can't… ha… take it—ahn! Anymore!”
Frantic, Ms. Vis shot to her feet. She had to hurry if she wanted to catch that girl in the act!
In her haste to stand up and leave, Ms. Vis' knees slammed against her telescope, sending it clattering to the floor. She stumbled backwards, the back of her heel striking against the lip of the building.
Her arms windmilled. She released a loud, blood curdling scream of terror. Then she pitched over the side.
Within their apartment, Kevin Swift and Lilian Pnév̱ma stopped what they were doing.
“Did you hear something, Beloved?”
“Um, no?”
“Good, then neither did I.”
As more screams emitted from the Swift residence, a certain math teacher lay in a tangled heap of limbs, insensate to the world around her. Tomorrow morning, Ms. Vis would wake up in a hospital bed, with no recollection of how she got there or what she'd been doing the previous night.
Some people had the worst luck.
Chapter 5
(Un?)Fortunate Meetings
There had been many times in the past few days where Kevin wondered if the last month had all been a strange dream.
This was a very logical thought, one that anybody else would have had, too, if they’d gone through the zaniness that he had via one super peppy redhead. And that was just when taking Lilian into consideration. Throw in being introduced to a world where supernatural creatures lived amongst humans in secret, and you add a whole new level of insanity to the equation, one that he didn’t even want to consider.
And speaking of red-haired fox-girls…
Kevin looked down to see the girl in question snuggled against him. Her red hair fanned out against his chest and the white bed sheets. The sun
peeking in through the window caught each strand in its light, causing her silken tresses to gain an incandescent glow, taking on the appearance of ardent flames from a powerful wildfire. Those beautiful crimson locks created a sharp contrast with the white sheets of the bed and his lightly tanned skin.
He could actually see her face this morning. Lilian hadn't taken to lying directly on top of him last night, like she was often wont to do. Instead she was cuddled into his right side, her head using his shoulder as a pillow.
Her face was very peaceful in sleep; eyes closed and lips parted ever so slightly as she rhythmically breathed in and out, making odd but cute noises as she slept on. She looked nothing like her usual energetic, vibrant and oftentimes chaotic self. Kevin hadn’t known it was possible, but she actually looked even more beautiful now than she did when she was awake.
It may have had something to do with the fact that she wasn't trying to kiss him.
Or seduce him.
Or strip him of his clothes.
Or strip off her own clothes.
There were a lot of things Lilian did that he didn't like.
The second he thought about how beautiful Lilian was, however, he regretted it. Guilt welled up inside of him. He should not be feeling this way, not about Lilian. He already liked someone else, and despite the fact that they weren’t dating, thinking about Lilian this way made him feel like he was betraying Lindsay. Or at least his feelings for her.
Of course, they weren't dating, so he wasn't actually betraying anyone. He just felt like he was.
Sighing softly, Kevin shook his head and dispelled those thoughts, setting his mind straight. Regardless of his love for Lindsay, he couldn’t deny that Lilian was quite possibly the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Anyone with a set of eyes could see the girl possessed an unearthly, inhuman beauty, and he knew that many of his peers thought the same thing he did.
He was often forced to listen to them talk about her. For some reason a good deal of their comments angered him. He did not know why, though.
It was Monday morning, the start of a new school week. Nothing special there. A glance at the clock revealed the time to be five am, two hours before he and his housemate had to leave for school.
Two hours was plenty of time to get ready. He could probably afford to get a bit more sleep if he felt like being lazy. Too bad the word “lazy” didn’t exist in his vocabulary. Kevin was a very hard worker. It came with the territory of having no father and a mother who was always out of the country.
Feeling that it would be better to get a head start on his day, he glanced back down at the girl sharing his bed… and promptly twitched. Like always, Lilian had wrapped herself around him like some kind of super-sexy limpet, holding him as if he were a life-sized plush toy. Her arms were woven so tightly around his torso that if she were to squeeze him any harder, Kevin feared she may emaciate him via Death Hug™, which was an even worse way to die than being killed via a notebook that automatically kills anyone whose name is written in it. Her legs also had a strong grip on his right thigh, feet locked together at the heels like a clamp.
In short, it would be impossible to break out of her hold.
Kevin wondered if Lilian was doing this on purpose to keep him from leaving the bed, or if it was a subconscious gesture of some kind. The girl was awfully clingy, after all, even when awake. Especially when awake.
He started shaking the girl to rouse her back into the world of conscious thought. It was harder than it looked; his arms were currently pinned under hers. Just wiggling his left arm out from the redhead's hold was a task in itself.
“Lilian. Come on, you need to wake up now.”
Lilian didn't wake up. She did nuzzle her face into his shoulder, however, and Kevin squeaked when he felt warm, soft lips press against the bare skin of his shoulder in an accidental kiss. Thankfully, he had gained a lot experience with stuff like this, and so, he ignored the pleasant sensations and tried again, speaking louder this time.
“Lilian. It's time to get up. Come on, we've got to get ready for school.”
The girl using him as her body pillow stirred reluctantly, shifting her body against him. This elicited another squeak from the young man as her almost-but-not-quite bare breasts rubbed against his torso. Lilian cracked a single eye open, then shut it just as quickly.
“Lilian can't wake up without receiving a kiss from her prince.”
Kevin blinked. Did she just refer to herself in the third person?
He shook his head. He must be hearing things.
“That's not going to happen.”
“What?” Lilian opened her eyes to look at him in consternation. “Why not?” Realizing what she had done, the fox-girl just as quickly closed her eyes and pretended to still be asleep. It was a bit late for that, but Kevin had to give the girl points for trying. “Lilian needs her kiss to wake up.”
Kevin blinked again. It seemed he was not hearing things. She was definitely speaking in the third person. Was this a new verbal tick of some kind? He sure hoped not, that would be annoying. Almost as annoying as someone with a silly catch phrase.
And on that note, he really hoped Lilian never picked up a catch phrase. The last thing he needed was some naked fox-girl running around his house saying desu all the time.
“Yeah, well, Lilian's going to be disappointed, and you know why not. Now, come on, it's time to get ready for school.”
Finally realizing that her “Beloved” wasn't going to follow along with her whims, Lilian opened her eyes and gave him her most adorable pout.
“Come on, Beloved.” Despite the fact that Lilian wasn't feigning sleep anymore, it was clear that the young kitsune had no intention of letting this issue go any time soon. She wasn't letting him go anytime soon either. “Don't you know how these things are supposed to work? The handsome prince always kisses the princess in order to wake her up. That's how these things go.”
“Oh, yeah? Then I guess it's a good thing I'm not a prince and you're not a princess.”
Lilian puffed up her cheeks at the insinuation that she was not a princess. She might not have a tiara, but she belonged to a rich clan. At the very least, she was a beautiful ojou-sama, a girl from a rich clan with a long history, which was close enough.
Kevin, undeterred by her cuteness, continued. “You also haven't been placed under a magical spell that keeps you asleep until receiving a kiss. This isn't Disney.”
“Why do I have to be in a magical sleep in order for you to kiss me?”
“Don't look at me. You're the one who mentioned the prince and sleeping princess scenario. The only time the prince ever kisses the princess awake is when she’s locked in some kind of magical coma. That's how these things work.”
“In Disney movies, maybe, but that's never the case in anime and manga,” Lilian argued.
“Anime and manga?”
“Of course.”
Lilian placed her hands on Kevin's chest and pushed herself into a sitting position, so that she could properly lecture her mate. Kevin squawked in indignation as she put her weight on his chest, then flushed in embarrassment as her sexy lingerie was revealed—her sheer nightgown was semi-translucent, and he could see that she wasn’t wearing a bra.
“It usually starts out in the bedroom, where the main hero and heroine are. One of them, usually the heroine, will be unconscious, having been either knocked out, feverish, comatose or simply sleeping, while the other character, usually the hero, falls for their attractive sleeping face and, unable to resist, leans in to give them a kiss,” Lilian lectured in a very studious voice. She almost sounded like a school teacher.
The effect was totally ruined by the mere fact that she was lecturing him while wearing skimpy lingerie and straddling his stomach.
“Uh huh.”
“You know what I’m talking about, right?
Kevin did indeed know what she was talking about. He’d read and watched plenty of shoujo romances and shōnen love comedies.
/> “You’re talking about ‘Dude, She’s Like, In A Coma!’ right?”
“Uh huh.” Lilian nodded her head enthusiastically. “Every character in anime and manga do this.” She placed her index finger on her lips and pushed. “I think Duke Devlin put it best when he said: ‘Wanna know the best thing about unconscious chicks? They can't say no… What!? Like I'm the only one thinking it.’”
“Not all anime characters do that,” he spat. “And Duke Devlin didn’t say that!”
“He didn’t?”
“No!”
“Are you sure? I could’ve sworn I heard him say that…”
“He didn’t!”
“Gya!” Lilian jumped. Kevin’s eyes practically bulged out of their sockets when her breasts bounced. “There’s no need to shout, Beloved. And it does happen in romance anime. I’ve seen it.”
“Yeah, well, this isn't an anime either.” Kevin turned his head. “This is real life, and in real life, it's not happening.”
“Muu,” Lilian pouted at him. Even her normally upright and pointed fox ears were drooping. “You're no fun, Beloved.”
Despite the sheer cuteness of the act, which had a +20 bonus effect on Kevin due to his weakness for animals and Otaku tendencies, he managed to resist the girl's natural charm. He had been getting a lot of practice lately doing just that. In fact, it seemed to be getting easier every time it happened.
“Yes, yes. I know. I'm a horrible person and a spoilsport.” Kevin rolled his eyes. “Now could you get off me so I can take a shower?” He tried to give her a stern expression, but then remembered what she was wearing, and quickly turned his head. “And for the love of god, put some regular clothes on!”
“Hmm, no.”
