‘To Sundia?’ Essie said. ‘Even though your dad specifically told you not to?’
‘Yes,’ Will said.
‘And even though it’s impossible to get to Sundia?’ Pod said.
‘Yes,’ Will said.
Pod and Essie looked at each other. Then all three of them turned to look at Annalie.
‘What do you think?’ Essie asked.
Annalie looked back at them for a moment. Then she said, quietly determined, ‘I’m in.’
Will crowed and gave her a high five, then collected himself slightly as he turned back to Essie and Pod.
‘You guys really don’t have to come any further,’ he began. ‘If you want—’
‘It’s all right,’ Essie said. ‘I’m coming.’
Will turned to Pod. ‘What about you?’
Pod shrugged. ‘Where else am I going to go?’
Will jumped up. ‘Okay, that’s settled then. Sundia, here we come!’
