So intently consumed with her breasts, he was unaware as she spread her pussy down around his cock. As he slid up into her, the feeling was almost too much for her to contain. A loud groan escaped his lips. The heat, the sensation, the passion were all too much for her to absorb at once. His hips jerked and drove hard, fast, and deep, uncontrolled and spasmodically, as her hypersensitive clitoris pressed firmly against his groin, his chest teasing her nipples, fueled the fire within her hips. Losing her concentration on her movements, lost control of her body, she felt the orgasm building as she let go the rush of energy swelling over her whole body. When Daniel exploded with his hot cum inside her, his bucking and powerful thrusts into her and against her, her own climax burst against his, sending them both into a frantic dance.

The climax subsided. Kelly lay atop Daniel, both of them panting from the exertion. Their bodies slickened by the dampness of sweat, kisses, and the juices of their orgasm. As she started to rise, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her next to his body.

“Please, not yet,” he whispered. His words touched her deep in her soul. Laying her head down on his chest, she stayed, enjoying the heat of him as he held her close. It was moments like this that she loved the most. Not the act itself, but the tender moments afterward.

Sighing, she let her body relax as her heart slowed, and within moments, she closed her eyes, safe and secure in the arms of a man she loved.

There on the crest of the hill, overlooking the small valley where the lone house stood, he watched in silence. He knew she was there with them. She left work with one of them. He was close tonight. He almost had her. It was just bad luck that her fuck buddy showed up and saved her.

He had everything planned down to the last detail. Too bad he never figured in her ability to find a boyfriend. She was the quiet one, the little helper of Treasure Cove, at least that’s what he remembered. Shy and eager to lend a helping hand, she was a sweetheart. He figured she would be the easy mark, not like the others. Those other bitches were becoming a pain in his ass.

There were just four of them, three women and a child.

He had tried a couple months ago to snatch the girl from her school bus, but her fathers had arrived just in time to save her, never knowing that he was there. It was risky, but he figured something so small would be an easy target, but damn, that child was too much like her mother.

He could not wait to get his hands on that bitch. She was the reason for all of this. If she had just died years ago as he planned, then his life would have been so much better, but, no, Emma McKenzie Quinn was a fighter. It took him forever to find her, and when he did, he had sent his son to take care of the bitch, but like last time, she survived, and now, she was breeding.

Then there was Antoinette, the spoiled, independent spitfire who did what she wanted, when she wanted. He had tried to finish her off shortly after Emma fled, but her brothers saved her ass that day. Finally, there was Kelly, the sweet and innocent Kelly Conner.

When she started her residency in Denver, he made sure she met Dr. Charles Lynwood, knowing that crazy sick fuck would eat Kelly alive, and he almost did, until she fought back. Now that crazy fuck was in jail, and he had to finish the job himself.

With Emma guarded like Fort Knox because of her pregnancy, Tabitha and her annoying fathers, and Antoinette on her honeymoon, that left sweet Kelly to contend with. However, his easy mark was not as easy as he thought.

When Kelly started seeing those two certifiable military men, he figured he better move up his timetable and take her out before anyone caught on. The problem was, someone had. For the last week, someone was following him. Careful not to leave any trail, he was surprised when he found someone had been snooping around the Old Mill on the south side of town.

It was destroyed as year ago in a fire, and he smiled as he remembered how the town believed it was the crazy mayor’s wife who set the fire. Wouldn’t they be shocked to find out it was him?

Nothing mattered anymore. He knew if he didn’t finish this soon, she would show up, and all hell would break loose. She was a true piece of work, pure evil. No matter what, he knew she would know if he failed, and facing her wrath was something he did not relish.

Turning, he walked away, leaving her alone and safe for the night. Come tomorrow, he would try something new, step up his game, and hopefully eliminate one of the darlings of Treasure Cove.

  Chapter Six

Micah woke to find Molly missing from her bed. Figuring she was already downstairs, watching the morning cartoons, he lazily stretched and got up. He did not sleep well, cramped in the small twin bed, but Molly slept well, and that was all that mattered. She hadn’t been sleeping well since she arrived, and if a little discomfort on his part let his niece have a good night’s sleep, he didn’t care. Getting to his feet, he walked into his room and found his bed unsettled. Turning, he slowly walked down the hall and found Kelly asleep in Daniel’s room, snuggled close.

Leaning against the doorjamb, he smiled seeing them. Micah was happy that Daniel looked peaceful for once, instead of thrashing around in his bed, screaming and shouting out his nightmares. What made matters worse, Micah knew when he brought Molly home, that Daniel had not really had a decent night’s sleep. Micah would hear him up patrolling the house late at night, only resting for five to ten minutes increments.

Not wanting to wake them, he closed their door and went in search for his niece.

Making his way downstairs, the smell of cooked bacon, pancakes, and eggs filled his nostrils, but it was the soft laughter and strong brew of hot coffee that slowly woke him. Entering the kitchen, he stopped as he spied a woman laughing and talking with Molly, who was giggling and talking a mile a minute.

“Can I really?” his niece asked the woman.

“Why not? I’m your nana, and I don’t see why you can’t have your own pony. Just wait to you see the Double Deuce Ranch. It is a very big ranch with lots of cows and many horses. Of course, your Uncle Steven and Uncle Neil will expect you to tend and feed your pony, but they will show you how to do all that.”

“Is Uncle Steven and Uncle Neil coming to breakfast, too?”

“Well, Uncle Neil said he would be here after morning chores, but Uncle Steven had a meeting this morning, but he said he was going to meet you tonight when he takes us all out to dinner. Doesn’t that sound fun? We can get dressed up and look pretty.”

  “I don’t have a dress to wear.”

“Don’t you worry about that. When you are ready, we will drive into Billings and do some shopping. Kelly never really liked to do that with me. Do you like shopping, Molly?”

“Oh yes. I like pretty dresses and shoes. My momma used to do my hair, but Uncle Micah doesn’t know how. Kelly braided it for me once. It was really pretty when I woke up the next day. Do you know how to braid hair, Nana?”

“I sure do. After breakfast, we will get you cleaned up and dressed. I will do your hair, and if your Uncle Micah says it’s okay, we can go into town, find you a pretty dress to wear tonight, and I will introduce you to your new family. Would you like that?”

“Will I have a big family?”

“As big as you want, chick-a-pen.”

  “Wow.”

“Well, the bacon is done. I wonder how long those lazy bones will sleep in. The day is already a-wastin’.”

Clearing his throat, Micah smiled and introduced himself when the older woman turned toward him. “Good morning. I’m Micah O’Brian,” he said, extending his hand. The petite blonde woman with a touch of silver in her hair smiled up at him. Her fragile silky hand gently slid into his as she said, “Anne Conner. Are you hungry, or are you just a coffee person?”

“I could eat, and a cup of coffee sounds perfect.”

“Well, find ya a seat. Miss Molly and I have been busy bees this morning.”

  “Yes, ma’am.”

“Call me Mom or Anne, not ma’am. Ma’am was my mother, and I am not my mother.” S
he smiled, turning to fix him a cup of coffee. Micah did not know what to think of the woman who closely resembled Kelly. She was not a very tall woman, no taller than five five, but the woman had grit, and she looked him in the eyes. He liked that.

Doing as told, he took a seat at the table, and Molly joined him by squeezing her way into his lap. Hugging her close, he smiled when Anne handed him a cup of black coffee.

“Thank you, Anne. This was very nice of you.”

“Think nothing of it. It was my pleasure. Besides, when Emma called me and told me the good wonderful news, I knew you boys were gonna need some help. So, I called my boys and some of the men around town. They’ll be here shortly.”

  “What help is that?”

“With the house of course. I can’t have my soon-to-be-granddaughter living in a house that looks as if a bomb went off. Besides, Emma told me what was going on with chick-a-pen, and well, I don’t want to give those blood-sucking lawyers any more ammunition than they already have. Don’t you worry. I know you, and the rest of the boys will have this place shipshape in no time. In the meantime, if you’re okay with it, I’ll take Kelly and Molly with me. That way there is no distraction getting the place done. Besides, we girls have a wedding to plan, unless you would rather help with that?”

  “Um, no.”

  “I didn’t think so.”

Just as Micah was about to ask her where she got her information from, he heard the slamming of a car door. Soon, loud, boisterous voices bellowed, and before he could rise from the table, Anne yelled, “Come on in, boys. Breakfast is ready.”

Man after man walked into his once-quiet home, soon filling his kitchen. Getting to his feet, he stood as Anne made the introductions.

“Micah, this is Travis, Tucker, and Tate Quinn, Emma’s husbands,” she said, pointing to the three big men near the coffee pot. “This is Jeff and Caleb Hicks, Janie’s husbands.” Looking at the two men who were shoving bacon into their mouths. “And over there, eating all the pancakes, are Orin, Davis, and Jacks, Lilly’s husbands.” Another man with blond hair walked in and headed straight for Anne, kissing her cheek.

  “Morning, Mom, where’s Kelly-belly?”

“Still asleep, and stop calling her that. You know she hates it.”

“That’s why I call her that.” He laughed, ducking away as his mother tried to swat him with a dishrag.

“Stop fooling around, and go introduce yourself to Micah,” she ordered.

Micah knew eventually he was going to meet Kelly’s brothers. He just wished he was dressed properly instead of wearing his pajamas. Not one to stand on ceremony, Micah held out his hand and led the charge. “I’m Micah O’Brian. You must be Neil.”

“That’s right, and you’re one of the men who thinks you’re good enough for my baby sister.”

“I don’t think, I know,” a soft voice said, interrupting what would have been a pissing contest. All eyes turned to see Kelly standing in the doorway, looking sleepy and adorable. “Damn, Emma has a big mouth.” She said, walking over to kiss Micah good morning before grabbing a cup of coffee.

“Well, you know our wife. She can’t keep a secret to save her life.” Tucker smiled, kissing the top of her head.

“Oh really? So is she having a boy or a girl?” Kelly asked Tucker, who had the good grace to blush and look affronted.

“She ain’t saying,” he mumbled as the room burst into laughter.

“Don’t worry, Tucker. You’ll find out soon enough. Now, everyone, finish up. I ain’t gonna wait around all day to do these dishes. Kelly, take your coffee and Molly upstairs and get dressed. You two are coming into town with me. Micah, go wake up Daniel, and I’ll make him a plate before these pigs finish it all,” Anne ordered. Micah wasn’t sure, but in that moment, he firmly believed that Mrs. Anne Conner missed her calling. She would have made a great four-star general.

By the time Kelly and Molly arrived back downstairs, Micah had Daniel awake, and they were dressed and ready to get started on fixing up the house. With Anne dishing out orders to the men, Micah reached over and pulled Kelly into his arms for a real morning kiss.

She was soft and sweet. Micah loved it when she melted into him. Her gentle lips moved slowly over his, teasing and tantalizing him. Her moist mouth tasted of coffee and mint. He wanted to moan as her tongue slowly swept into his mouth, and he almost did, but before he could deepen the kiss, she pulled back and grinned. “Tonight, big boy.”

  “Honeybee, you’re a minx.”

She softly laughed and whispered, “Don’t let my brother or cousins rattle you. I know them they can be devious when they feel the need to protect something they love, but they are all show, no bite. But watch out for Tate and Caleb. They bite.”

“Duly noted.” He smiled, kissing her once more before her mother and Molly walked up.

“All right, enough of that, I have my list and times wasting. Kiss Daniel good-bye, and let’s get moving. No sense in dawdling,” Anne said, walking out the front door with Molly in tow.

“Your mom is something else, angel. She reminds me of this Gunnery Sergeant I once knew,” Daniel informed her, looking as the older woman walked to her car.

“Are you going to be okay? Do you need me to stay?” Micah heard her ask with concern in her voice. Something was wrong, and by the way Daniel did not look her in the eye, he knew something happened last night.

“I slept good last night, angel, no nightmares. Go. If I need a break, Micah will cover for me,” he said, kissing her forehead.

“Call me if you guys need anything,” she said as they both stood on the front porch as she got into her mother’s car and drove away.

Micah turned to go back into the house when Daniel, clearly for all to hear, said, “Kelly’s tires were knifed last night.”

  Everyone instantly fell silent.

  * * * *

Kelly sat sandwiched between Janie and Emma while they, her Aunt Margaret, and mother talked a mile a minute. Kelly could not breathe. She felt suffocated and wanted nothing more than to run screaming from Macie’s Diner while the women of her family planned every minuscule detail of what was to be her wedding. None of them asked what she wanted or did not want. Nor did they care to ask her opinion on what flowers or dress to wear. Apparently, they arranged everything. By the time she sat her ass down in the booth, the place, date, time, even the food, already ordered, had been taken care of, but the moment they started talking about cutting her hair, she had had enough.

Shifting her hips, she moved Janie and Emma aside and jumped up from between them, hopping over into the next booth.

  Freedom!

“Kelly Anne Conner, what are you doing?” her mother scolded her as she bent over and picked up her purse.

“I am leaving. You do not need me here. You have everything under control. Just tell me the time and place, and I’ll show up. Till then, I’ll be at Doc’s.”

“What about Molly?” Janie shouted as she headed for the door.

“Don’t you worry about chick-a-pen. She and I have some shopping to do, don’t we, sweetheart?” her mother asked the small child sitting next to her eating ice cream.

“Yes, Nana,” Kelly heard Molly respond. Rolling her eyes, Kelly fled the diner and gave a silent thank-you to the good lord above for the warm sunshine as it hit her face. She actually felt a small twinge of regret leaving Molly with her mother, but the little girl looked like she was having a good time. Too bad her mother did not ask her if she wanted to go shopping. She would have said yes.

What her mother did not know was time changed her. The things she thought were annoying growing up seemed petty and insignificant now. Kelly knew her mother was not getting any younger, and the thought of spending the day with her and Molly shopping, well, Kelly actually liked the idea, but her mother never asked. Of course, she knew all she had to do was tell her mother that she wanted to go, and her mom would probably scream with glee.

It was not easy being the only daughter of Anne
Conner. Kelly loved her mother dearly, but living up to her mother’s reputation as the darling Romanov of Treasure Cove, well, that was a bit harder to deal with. Her whole life, all Kelly had heard was how kind and generous her mother was. How gentle and sweet, that her mother would give the shirt off her back of any of the town’s residents. Then to add the righteous praise, her mother went and married her high school sweethearts.

Thiers was a true Treasure Cove love story from the very beginning.

Kelly knew every minuscule detail from beginning to end. When she was younger, she loved hearing the stories, but as she grew older, she would rather pour bleach in her ears than be reminded of what she was never going to have. It was not that Kelly believed she didn’t deserve a love like the one her mother had. It was just that she did not believe it existed.

To love someone so much that she would lay down her own life for that person. A love like that didn’t exist but only in fairytales, and she was too old to be believing in those. Checking both ways before crossing the street, she headed straight for the clinic, hoping to immerse her head in medical charts and daily billings. Before she reached the clinic door, she stopped abruptly when her Aunt Sophie walked into the Pleasure Tease, a new lingerie store that just opened up in town.

“What in the hell?” she quietly asked herself and followed her aunt into the new store. Kelly loved her Aunt Sophie. One part fun and the rest certifiably crazy, Sophia Romanov Kincaid was about as normal as a bat shit flying around a donkey’s ass.

Rumor had it that when Sophie’s husband, Robert Kincaid, died suddenly after a night of passionate sex, the town thought Sophie would be heartbroken and move on. However, none of them ever thought she would go plum nuts and attack the tramp her husband was with the night he died. Then to add insult to injury, the tramp pressed charges against Sophie, and she had to stand trial for disorderly conduct and intent to cause bodily harm. The problem with that was Sophie did not intend to do anything. She meant to beat the tramp to a bloody pulp, and that was what she was doing, again, when the bailiff pulled her off the woman. After that, the town judge ordered Sophie into a mental hospital, stating that grief caused her to lose control. Therefore, she was a hazard, not only to herself, but also to her sons.
